Summary: Tech is guiltily glad that Crosshair's the one who's turned and tried to kill them all, under the influence of the inhibitor chips.

A/N: Wrote these up at eleven last night, decided I didn't want to turn it into anything bigger.

Breathing On

He can't help but to be glad that it's Crosshair instead of Hunter or Wrecker.

That it's Crosshair who's turned and tried to kill them all. It's a selfish thought, he knows, because he's known Hunter and Wrecker for far longer than Crosshair, but it's truly how he feels. (He doesn't know how he'd feel if it was Echo). And he feels guilty for it. Because Crosshair is his brother too, just as Echo is.

If it was Hunter trying to hunt them down, Tech knows he would crack and fail them all. He relies on Hunter's security. Without it, he's nothing.

And Wrecker, if it was him, Tech knows that he would let his second eldest brother pound him to a lifeless, bloody pulp, choke the last breath from his lungs. Because Wrecker is pure and happy, and the life of the squad.

But with Crosshair, it only tears at his being. He can still breathe, can still think, can still act. But he blames himself, because he should have known, should have been more observant, normal senses or not. He loves Crosshair as much as he does the others, and guilt eats at him, but he can still function far more reasonably than in any other scenario. And for that, he's grateful.
