A/N WOW! I did have something up the sleeve, I wasn't sure to posted because I didn't like a couple of paragraphs but I did manage to get them right, and I am happy with them, so to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the show I decided to post it.
I haven't shared this but I really think that this is the best show ever, I love the characters that Aaron imagined, and all the cast portray, before Suits I never had written fanfiction, I just got so smitten with everything in the fandom, Is just the best, I am so happy to get to be part of this and to share my love for all of this with you! I appreciate every comment, follow, and like it keeps me going! It makes me happy that we all keep enjoying this hopefully for much time longer.
Chapter 14 the fortune teller
The next day Donna had her day off and she was so excited to sleep in for a while, go to yoga classes with Sheryl and Christina, and have all afternoon to do nothing just rest. After all this time working she was getting tired but it was worth it, working at the bar as a bartender had been one of the best things that happen to her not only had a great time but as well she managed to get a big amount of tips so her establish financial goal was already achieved and now she could breathe easy knowing this.
"So, let me understand, this really hot guy that we met at the blockbuster keeps appearing in all your workplaces? "Sharyl asks with a confused face
"yes, and the thing is like a punishment or something, he's so charming that reminded me too much of Keith" Donna remembered her infamous ex, " I am not saying that he is stalking me but is too much of a coincidence, is like destiny or something is trying to mess with me," said Donna with some concern in her voice.
"what do you mean? I think that you are very attracted to him and that is why you notice him everywhere he is around, It is logical that you met all the time he is probably staying in the same area as we and the town is not too big so the odds are that you are going to see him around until ether one-off you go out of town – respond Sheryl with while she finished getting ready to get to the yoga class
I don't know I am not going to lie to you he is hot and when he is close to me my hormones just jump all around, but I know me I am just horny and I am not willing to jump him just to be disappointed again, unfortunately, I have been the kind of girl that falls in love with the worst guys or just have the very bad taste of doing an ass of myself, Donna stated more for her than to her friend.
"I understand, but don't worry this would be for a little while and then you will leave to finish school and never have to see him again! Let's go my mother is going to call for the yoga class and afterward we can visit that lady friend of yours from the bus she seems pretty interesting. Sheryl comfort Donna
After a particularly difficult yoga class, Donna and Sheryl went back to Sheryl's house, where they take a bath and change, they were supposed to be having lunch at joe´s place with but Andrew and Christina the older couple decided to have time for themselves and stay at home, hinting the girls that they had to go outside and leave them alone; they were in a particularly romantic mood. So they have all afternoon to waste time.
The girls decided to visit Susan the lady that Donna met on the bus, Donna was very fond of her and she was surprised when she learned that she was living within walking distance of Sheryl's house, actually, they accidentally met at the grocery shop in the second week of her arrival and from time to time.
Donna went to her house, just to visit her and learn how to knit crochet, a hobby that Donna and Sheryl started to enjoy very much, one of the reasons was that knowing how to knit allowed them to do very sexy outfits for the beach.
Although Susan was a widow her house was always full of people, very interesting ones, her late husband was a writer and they were surrounded by people involved in the Art scenario, every time Donna visited Susan she met someone new, the last time she was there she met a very interesting character that once upon a time used to be a very famous set designer for theater plays and she enjoyed very much the conversation, so Donna made every effort to hang out at Susan´s place but unfortunately due to her hectic schedule that was not always possible.
When the girls arrived at Susan's place they were received with a batch of cookies
"Girls I am so happy to see you, and you have come in a perfect time, guess who is visiting me?" said a very happy Susan at the door
"It´s Martin Scorsese? Tell me he is in your living room- Said Donna knowing that it was a very slim possibility.
"No dear Roby, I told you I only met Martin at a friends party decades ago" laugh out loud Susan
"Gee Susan a girl can dream" Donna answer back
"It is your daughter?" asked Sheryl
"No, you are wrong Sheryl dear", Susan said leading the girls to the dining room
Entering the room both girls looked at the meddle age woman was sitting at the head of the dining table she was shuffling a deck of cards, and she had a very hippy vibe but more than that she looked like a gypsy she had an aura of pure magic, she had very interesting jewelry but the thing that caught Donna's eyes were all the rings that she had in both hands.
The atmosphere in the room was somehow different than usual, the curtains were close, there were some candles lit up and the scent of incense was floating around the room, It smelled like sandal, although was only 3 in the afternoon this particular room had a feeling of being frozen in a different time and place.
"Jofranka let me introduce you to Roby and Sheryl these lovely girls came to visit," Susan said to this mysterious woman
The woman stud from her chair meting the girl's mid-way from her. Sheryl extended her right hand to greet her and the woman took it to shake it
"Good energy, you have a great star above you, success is all over you", Jofranka said.
The girls were intrigued, Donna was very skeptical about "magic" since the year went to hell for her, she decided to be more realistic and keep nonces away from her, so the first thing she thought of this woman was that this was all a show for fools and she was a bit uncomfortable in this environment. And she had a very hard time resisting rolling her eyes back once she heard what she told Sheryl.
Once Jofranka finish shaking Sheryl's hand she turned to Donna and stared at her making a serious gesture
"You, my dear on the other hand have a vibe that I just can't figure out, please come and sit in here I have to reed you the cards" the woman pointed at the table where a stalk of tarot cards was placed in the middle of a dark blue silk handkerchief with a silver moon and golden stars motive.
"No thanks, I don't have any more superstitions and I recently learn that I am the only one responsible for my life decisions, I don't believe in destiny anymore", Said Donna with an apologetic look
"oh! Come on Roby let Jofranka read you the cards, she will tell you things of your past, present, and future, you will tell us if the things that she tells you about the past are true or not" Said Susan with an amused face
"Yes, Roby! Please! Humored us! I want to see if you are finally going out with this mystery guy or with Raul" Said Sharyl excited at the idea of such an interesting thing.
"Now she knows that I could go out with 2 guys what do you expect her to say, and just for the record I am not going out with either of them!" Donna said with an annoyed grim
"You know that Jofranka is a very good Tarot reader and you guys are lucky that she is here this is a lifetime opportunity"
Donna declined one more time so Sheryl asked Jofranka to read her the cards instead, at first Donna was uninterested but when Jofranka started to say things that only Sharyl and she knew she started to get interested in.
Sheryl's reding had very nice and happy outcomes, she was going to succeed in her career and the future, she was going to marry a good man and have a daughter, she was going to be a very good friend with her sister in law.
Everything was so predictable Donna thought, but there was a thing that intrigued her, so she decided to have a reading to decide how much of a scam this tarot thing was.
Once the reading started Jofranka started to nod her head and have a mumble dialog with herself then she stated
"Ok, Roby is it? the cards are very clear this persona that you are showing right now is not your real you, this card the fool is telling me this, this other one tells me that you are hurting for something that is out of your control" said Jofanka pointing at the 3 of spades.
Donna froze in her sit but she didn't say anything this was probably something that could be deduced by her appearance or her body language so she kept a skeptical look.
"your family used to have money but you recently loos it once again, but don't worry at some point you would have money might not be ride way but I can see you in luxurious outfits, you are going to live a good life, but… in the heart matters .. Oh! honey you just had such a bad experience this year, and I can tell you that you are going to meet your soul mate but it is going to be a long way before either of you realize it, it will be very strong and whatever you do you can´t escape it, unfortunately, your love story is not going to be an easy one but it will be the best thing that will happen to you if you decide to live it"
"Ha! You have to say yes to Raul know he is a soulmate material" funnily said Sheryl to light up Donna's humor that started to cloud.
"Stop it, Sheryl you are interrupting I want to know about my brilliant actress career on Broadway," Donna said with sarcasm
"Well you know that is up to you, I see in the cards that you will have two options either to be regular at something you desired or be exceptional in something that you never saw coming, remember, the cards are just a guide, but the decisions as you said are yours and only you can determine how is that your going to live your life" Said Jofranka while she draws another card to place in the table.
"So, can you tell us a name or something or if they are going to take much time? It would be better, if we start looking around, right now" Said Sheryl mocking Donna
"The cards don't work like that, I can tell you a general description but, things will happen when they happen, do you want to know how does he look?" Jofranka said to Donna
"No thanks I want love to surprise me not the other way around" answer Donna with a smirk
"Life is full of choices and depending on the decisions you make things can happen or not, for instance, in the cards specify that you are going to meet your soulmate but the relationship that you establish between you two could not be a traditional love story, it might be a friendship or something more ephemeral, maybe you will recognize who this person is in your life in a long time or you will choose not to, but the thing is that the time that you are going to stay together you will accomplice so many things, you two are going to succeed in anything that you set your mind on, this card says so" Jofranka pointed to the chariot one.
"you are going to become so important to this person that you will be needed in order for him to become someone that could be a legend in his field and without you, it is probably that he won't amount to his potential, definitely you will be the woman beside the grate man and he is going to treat you as his equal, but in here is not clear what kind of relationship you are going to have, because he will need to work his own issues, this person is selfish and self-absorbed, but it will care for you deeply, and if you don´t be careful he will brake your hart more than once but as always this will be totally up to you", Donna frown.
"Okay, let me see your present, remember the choices you make today will change the outcome of your present reading" Jofanka shuffled the cards once more.
Susan that had been quiet all this time went to the kitchen for more coffee and cookies, looking out the window she noticed that her neighbor went inside his house so she decided to prepare a bag of cookies for him.
"Hum… it seems that you are going to have a romance soon," said Jofanka with a smile
"I don´t think so" Donna rejected the idea
"you two have such magnetism that it would be difficult to be apart, and the love card tells me that this person could be part of your destiny, but the devil one tells me that in this part of the relationship the passion is going to play a big part, this one the 2 of wands, tells me that this story is not only going to be a summer love and that it will return to you. And the 4 of wands" Jofranka hesitated after seeing Donna's face and decided not to reveal the meaning being this one marriage, she decided to omit this because she knew that Donna was a skeptic and that this was not going to happen any time soon first, they had to overcome various challenges and nothing was written on stone as well she knew that this summer romance would be with her soulmate, but, the vibes of Donna, ware full of doubt and apprehension, Jofranka knew better than mess with destiny, by the way, that this young woman was reacting to her reading, was better to left things unsaid.
"Also you are going to travel back from where you came, but is not going to be the place where your life is going to develop, regarding this mystery guy you are going to have a story with him but there something a bit off and deceiving, this story is not going to live long, and in order to not get heartbroken I recommend you just to enjoy the moment and not to hang on to anything else, but it will have a great impact in your life, Oh! look in a couple of months you are going to meet someone else and you are going to have a long relationship with this person and he could change your life but this relationship will not be permanent you have different paths"
Donna was not convinced at all and she was not buying anything that this fortune teller was telling her, she could read people to, she was very analytical, and she knew people better than they knew themselves so In fact, she decided that all of this was only entertaining to mock,
"well, thank you for that, I don't know what to do with this information" she blurted sarcastically
"wait you are going to receive money that you weren't expecting and it is going to allow you to finish a big project"
"maybe I will buy a lotto ticket" Donna mocked
Sheryl rolled her eyes, and said,
"well Susan, this has been very interesting but we have to go I have to get to my brother's place, you know men are helpless with their food, If we don´t feed them they could starve"
The girls tanked their guest and Jofanka, and before Donna finished to say goodbye, she said to her, "believe me or not but romance is closer than you think"
"yes maybe next door", Donna said sarcastically
"Speaking about next door can you girls be kind and drop these cookies to my neighbor in the blue house" Mr. Adler, and this bag is for you girls", Said Susan the last name of Susan's neighbor sounded oddly familiar
"Yes of course," said Sheryl taking the 2 bags of cookies.
"And Roby, please come back as soon as you have some time available, I have a job for you!"
"Yeah, Right I will do it!" Said Donna with a big smile
"Remember girls only you can decide the choices that you make but sometimes destiny is inevitable!" Jofanka stated as the girls walk true the door
Once the girls went outside Donna scoffed
"I can't believe people think this shit is real! I don't imagine nocking the next door and finding the love of my life" she laughed out loud, walking to the foyer of the blue house and nocking the door.
The two girl's laugh out loud, they were distracted when the door finally opened
"Wow! You are really stalking me, I wonder what Walker think of this" Harvey smirked at the two astonished girls,
Sheryl kept laughing mind while Donna froze completely
"I don't think Walker has much to say about Roby's were about, he only thinks about ..." Donna stump on her foot so she couldn't finish the sentence. Sheryl jumped in one foot and started to laugh so hard that it hurt that she had to grab her stomach so she handed out the bag of cookies for Mr. Adler to Donna.
-I am so busted- thought Donna as a cold shiver ran through her spine connecting her with the present and the task of what they were doing there
"You are not Mr. Adler"- said Donna with a frowning on her face,
"No, I am not, but if you want I can be whoever you want" he smirked winking and turned around "
Sebastian, you have visits, very beautiful ones"
Donna just rolled her eyes; as she saw Sebastian approaching the front door and she was relieved she was going to get out of there soon enough.
Harvey got to the conclusion that she was in fact playing hard to get with all this Walker thing, so he considers how to get to know better this amazing girl that kept showing up whatever he was.
Hi, Mr. Adler, your neighbor Susan just send you these cookies.
The man took the cookies and offer the girls to pass inside but Donna kindly refused his invitation, she was getting very unstilled with Harvey's presence.
