What's on the menu? Me-n-U

"Your favourite customer came back," Ginny said to Hermione, who only groaned at her friend's remark. "Do you want me to tell him to come back later, or are you going to be an adult about this and tend to his table?"

Hermione glared at Ginny, who just smirked in reply. Hermione and Ginny had started working at the local pub to make money for the trip they wanted to take after finishing college.

Hermione usually loved to work at 'Minnie's Bar'; it was a great way to save money for the trip that she wanted to do when she graduated. Minerva McGonagall knew that opening a pub next to Hogwarts College was one of the best ideas that she'd had, and she often hired students to work the shifts, including Hermione and Ginny.

"Don't worry, I can defend myself. I just wish he wasn't so awkward around me, you know?" Hermione said, grabbing two menus and walking towards the table in her section. "Hello, gentlemen, welcome to Minnie's Bar. Do you want to look at the menus or have you already decided what you're going to order?"

"I need another moment to look at the menus, but I think Theo already knows what he wants," one of the two boys said, smiling. His tone seemed flirtatious to Hermione, who only rolled her eyes. "Aren't I right, Theo?"

"Shut up, Blaise," Theo muttered, grabbing the menus from Hermione's hand without looking at her. "I'll look at the menu, thank you."

"Suit yourself," Hermione replied, biting back a smile. She returned to where Ginny was rearranging the ketchup bottles and sighed.

"What's got you smiling like that?" Ginny asked with a 'I-know-you' tone of voice. "Finally going to admit that you think that customer is cute?"

"Shut up," Hermione replied, blushing a little. "He can barely look at my face, and his friend seems like he wants to make fun of me for some reason."

"Hermione, I love you like a sister and you're one of the most intelligent people I know, but sometimes, you can be so dense!" Ginny slapped the back of Hermione's head, who only looked offended. "He wasn't making fun of you!"

"How do you know? You never even talked to him!" Hermione replied hotly, glaring at Ginny. "They always sit in my section, so how can you know that?"

"Blaise is in one of my classes, so we talk sometimes." Ginny shrugged, a blush appearing on her face. "He told me how his friend likes to come to this bar and make goo-goo eyes at a certain waitress."

Hermione tried not to let what Ginny just said go to her head, but she stole glances towards the table where the two boys were whispering furiously. Hermione decided to go back and do her job, no matter what Ginny thought was happening.

"Have you decided what you want?" Hermione asked, coming near the table and grabbing her notepad to write their orders.

"Yes, I would like to have the tomato soup with the grilled cheese, the spring salad, a slice of apple pie and your number, please?" Theo said quickly and finally looked at Hermione.

Hermione's eyes widened. She couldn't believe what he had just said. "I'm sorry, what?"

"He said that he'll have the tomato soup with the grilled cheese, the spring salad, a slice of apple pie and your number. If you would be so kind," Blaise repeated with a cheeky grin on his face. "And I'll have the onion soup in the sourdough bread."

Hermione grabbed the menus in a trance, walking away without saying anything, until she realised what had happened and hurried back to their table.

"Your orders will be here soon," she said while she scribbled on her notepad and placed the paper in front of Theo. "And this is my number. Call me some time."

She walked away with a smile on her face and a spring in her step, glaring when Ginny smirked at her. Hermione knew that she was going to have to explain to her friend what just happened, but at the moment, she didn't care. If working as a waitress in a college bar made some cute boy ask her out, she wasn't going to complain.

"You can thank me later, but for now, just put their orders on the counter," Ginny said, passing Hermione and winking at her. "I hope they give you a good tip."

Hermione couldn't stop the laughter that bubbled through her and just shook her head at her friend's actions. Needless to say, her best tips were the smiles Theo gave her when she brought his orders. And she couldn't wait what else would have in their future, when Theo asked her out.
