Meanwhile, Blaze had gotten a ride from Swoops all the way to the far island. He hopped off him and raced off, heading towards a cave, leading to the Great Forest. He zoomed through the place, heading deeper and deeper until he found a snowy cave at the edge. Tired from running, he fell onto his tires and began to sob.
"Why am I such a reject...?" he asked himself, looking himself.
He never had to worry about revealing his past life until now.
Why did he have to see Calvin and Krisha now?
And if he wasn't Blaze, and if he wasn't Smoke...
...who was he?
"Blaze?"
The red truck turned to see his friend Roarian flying into the cave.
"R-Roarian...?" Blaze was taken back. "H-How did you find me...?"
"I felt your presence in the forest," Roarian replied.
"Oh..." Blaze sighed.
Roarian frowned and flew over to his side. "Are you alright?"
"N-No...!!" Blaze burst into more tears. "Everything is HELL!"
"What happened?" Roarian asked.
"I..." Blaze sniffled. "My... My blood parents... they... they just tried to hurt me... again..."
"Oh... I see... and you're questioning who you really are...?"
"Y-Yes..." Blaze nodded. "I just... wish I can go back in time and... and clear everything out..."
Roarian seemed to give it a thought.
"Well... I don't know if we can clear everything out, because who knows how it could affect this time, but... I can use a spell to take us both into your past... to make things a little easier for me to understand."
"Can you really?!" Blaze lit up. "That would be great, Roarian!"
"All right then," Roarian chuckled. "Now, the spell will take energy from both of us. So, stand still, close your eyes, and think of one of the earliest memories you had in your previous life."
"Okay!"
Blaze closed his eyes and thought of the earliest memory he could think about. Roarian's sunstone released a glow, and they both felt themselves disappear from the cave. They soon woke up in a basement.
"A basement? Why are we here, my friend?"
Before Blaze could answer, a sound of a baby's crying echoed through the air. They both turned to see Krisha, looking younger than earlier, enter with a growl, holding a crying child in her tires.
"CALVIN!! THE BABY WON'T SHUT UP!!"
"LEAVE HIM IN THERE! AND GET HIM WHEN HE FINALLY SHUTS UP!" Calvin yelled back.
"FINE!" Krisha huffed and set the baby down on the floor. "Either shut up or no food!"
With that, she turned and left the basement. However, Baby Blaze, who was black with a blue lightning bolt on his side, would sniffle and cry, wanting his mother.
"They would say I was a failed abortion..." said Blaze, sniffling as he watched himself. "I thought I was gonna be alone forever..."
Suddenly, three colorful lights flew towards the little baby. The lights went closer and turned into three fairies of blue, red and green.
"There there, young child," the red fairy smiled, wiping the baby's tears. "I am Rosa, and these are my sisters, Evergreen and Bluebelle. We sense that life has not been kind to you, so we are here to help."
She waved her wand over the young child. Evergreen and Bluebelle did the same, sparkling magic waving down at him. Baby Blaze giggled as the magic surrounded him. Rosa smiled.
"I bless you, young one, with the gift of kindness," she spoke. "Despite all your experiences, you will be kind to everyone you meet,"
Evergreen approached the baby next and fluttered her wings. She smiled down at him.
"I bless you with the gift of bravery," she said. "When everything is against you, you would be able to stand tall against them all,"
Bluebelle was the last to come forward. She smiled dearly at the baby.
"And I bless you, child, with the gift of transformation," she told him. "It will be the most useful of it all. You will soon see in the future how useful it may be,"
Blaze smiled as he watched this go on, wiping his tears and feeling Roarian wrap his wings around him.
"They... They were the only friends I had," he told him. "Mother and Father never cared, so they were the only ones I had,"
"They seem like wonderful fairies. I'd love to meet them someday," said Roarian. "Let us go to another moment in time, shall we?"
"R-Right," Blaze nodded and closed his eyes.
They disappeared out of the time and found themselves in a huge mansion.
"Where are we now?" Roarian asked.
"My home..." Blaze sighed.
"SMOKE!"
A shrill voice echoed through the place, and they turned to see Krisha drive over to young 3-year old Blaze, who was whimpering under her glare.
"Y-Yes, Mama...?"
"I was never too fond of my previous name..." Blaze muttered.
"You should have swept all the floors by now!" Krisha hissed.
"I-I'm sorry, Mama... but you told me to get every speck... and I've been trying."
"PATHETIC!" Krisha slapped him across his cheek.
"She physically hurt you?" Roarian gasped.
"Physically and emotionally, yes," Blaze nodded.
"Oh dear..."
"SWEEP THE FLOORS NOW, OR NO DINNER!" Krisha yelled out.
"Y-Yes, Mama..." Young Blaze sniffled.
"I never did get the floors all cleaned," Blaze sighed.
"So you never ate dinner that night?"
"And the other nights before," Blaze nodded.
"Oh dear... did you ever have any fun as a child?"
Blaze didn't reply. Instead, he closed his eyes, and they disappeared out of that time. They reappeared in a forest, where a Young Blaze was running around and playing with the fairies from earlier.
"Ah... I see you have met up with the fairies again."
"They were the only friends I had ever had," Blaze sighed.
"Tag! You're it!" Young Blaze giggled.
"Coming after you, Smoke!" Rosa laughed as she and the sisters flew after him.
Pretty soon, they ended up near the lake, giggling and having the best time of their lives. However, when the giggling stopped, young Blaze looked at his reflection and sighed.
"What's wrong, Smoke?" Evergreen asked.
"Why don't Mama and Papa love me...? Am I... ugly? Am I a mistake?"
"Aww, it's alright, Smoke," Bluebelle patted his back. "You are not ugly nor a mistake,"
"Your parents are awful," Rosa told him. "You are a pure soul,"
"I am?"
"You are!" Rosa nodded and patted his head. "Don't let them down you, Smoke. You will be amazing, better than your parents could ever be,"
"Thanks..."
"That was the last time I saw them before winter struck," Blaze said, but even more eyes began to enter at the word 'winter'. "And... that winter was the worst in my life..."
He closed his eyes, and they disappeared. They reappeared in a snowstorm, with the snow towering down heavily from the sky.
"A snowstorm?"
