Eternally Yours
Chapter Five
„Put on your break lights
We're in the city of wonder
Ain't gonna play nice
Watch out, you might just go under
Better think twice" – Disturbia – Rihanna
Disclaimer: I do not own Resident Evil, neither the song. Everything is just a silly made up, what takes place in an AU.
The days were silent in the Redfield house. And haven't really see eachother during these days. Whenever Claire woke up, Chris already went out to work, and when Chris returned to home, Claire faked her sleep, so they wouldn't get into any conversation. This made all those silent nights fill up with tears, and the only thing what was loud, the music in Claire's headphone, to keep her sadness inside, and not to be found. The worst thing what happened, was ont he day before christmas. After Chris went to work, Claire packed up a few things in her bag, then left Chris's present under the christmas three, what she decorated last day. And also, left her secret notebook, on the top of the beautiful boxed present. Then she closed the door, and left the house without a message.
Claire walked to her bike, then didn't stop until she arrived at Kelly's place. Hopefully it was okay, and neither Kelly's currently home staying parents didn't mind having her over. And she needed a night without tears, and days with talking. It was horrible for not speaking for almost a week.
„Good to see you!" Kelly cheered for Claire.
„Good to be able to speak again, finally." Claire laughed.
„Want something to drink?" Kelly asked, while she walked to the kitchen.
„Just a coffee, if that's okay." Claire answered.
„Yup, on the way to you, lady." Kelly said.
Kelly picked her favourite mug, to pur the coffee for her best friend. She didn't even know what was going on. But she felt that something is not really good.
They've went upstairs, then after a few minutes, everything hit into Claire again. As she sat on the side of Kelly's bed.
„Let it out, I see i ton your face, that you haven't cryied enough." Kelly said, as she sat infront of Claire.
„We haven't talked sincet hat Sunday. Everything went silence." Claire said.
„Something happened?" Kelly asked.
„We kissed." Claire answered.
Kelly was shocked at the first sigh, then she tryied to keep herself calm, because her best friend needed support. And she was the only person she could run to.
„Oh damn…" Kelly sighed. „And after?"
„It was beautiful." Claire sighed, as she tryied to held the tears inside her. „We even kept playing that we are an on going thing together. But when we got home, nothing!"
And the crying has started again. But it couldn't really last that long. Someone was literally about to kick their door. Kelly rushed out, to see who was it, but didn't know to let them in. So after a little hesitating, she called Claire down. Claire cleaned up her face, then walked down. She was suprised to see Jill standing in the front door of Kelly's house.
„What are you doing here?" Claire asked.
„Well, you weren't home, and Chris told me that your only friend is Kelly, so got my ways to get here." Jill answered.
„About what?" Claire asked. „Still didn't told me why you're here."
„Chris is worried." Jill answered.
„I will leave you two alone then, talk it out." Kelly said, as she walked up to her room.
Claire let out a deep sigh, then invited Jill inside to have a seat on the couch. Worried? Huh, haven't even told me a damn hello. Claire thought.
„He went home because he left something home, then the only thing he found was this." Jill showed her, the notebook.
„You can't have it in your hands!" Claire panicked, and took it away from Jill's hand. What were you thinking, Chris?! Claire thought.
„Haven't even opened it, and didn't plan to." Jill defended herself. „But I saw him reading this, then after he left this in his office, I thought I might take it back to you, before someone would lay their hands on it."
„Good choice." Claire sighed. „So you said, Chris was reading this, right?"
„Yeah, he was crying, and tryied to reach you several times, but you didn't answer." Jill said.
„We haven't talked since Sunday. Why would he try do this now?" Claire asked.
And another knock on that damn door. It was Claire's time to open the door. She felt it in her heart. As her heart beated so fast on the way to that door. And for her thoughts, it was right. They were facing eachother again.
„Found you." Chris said, as he pulled Claire onto his arms for a stronger hug.
„Then now, I shall leave." Jill said, as she stood up, then went outside, closing the door.
„So you've read all of my dirty little secrets." Claire sighed.
„I have…" Chris said. „And these few days were all about thinking of how shall we do to continue this thing."
„So… got anything to share with me?" Claire asked.
She felt as her heart was shattering away from the unknown words already. She was the only abnormal in this damn world to feel like this. But somehow that Sunday was everything to think about.
"I can't right now." Chris sighed. "It's hard to speak about and I can't even think straight right now!"
And that was where everything was about to break apart. The answers was already here, like an open book. And the terrible silence of waiting for it, broke Claire's heart more than anything.
"I thought so..." Claire sighed.
"Are you crying?" Chris asked.
"Why would it matter?" Claire asked back.
"Because it still does!" Chris shouted back.
"Leave..." Claire whispered.
Chris was shocked. His sister sent him away. And only because he couldn't show everything to her. It wasn't that easy to talk about. Everything seemed amazing on Sunday. Nobody cared, nobody was questioning... And now without anyone, he was scared to admit what he has read in that notebook, was his way of realisation to the feelings he never thought he would have.
"When are you comming home?" Chris asked.
"After New Year's Eve. Maybe." Claire answered.
"I'm still comming to see you on the last day of the year. Maybe I will be able to open up to you." Chris said, as he closed the door behind him.
At this day, both of the two hearts broken because of not accepting the love they deserve...
