Chapter Sixteen

Claire almost felt like a prisoner in her own house. She couldn't go anywhere alone. She really missed her freedom. But slowly the winter season was about to leave. And about to hit the beautiful spring season, with March. Whenever she was with Chris, it didn't feel like being in a „prison cell" but when Chris went out to work, and Leon came soon after, it was so boring. She only had alone times in the bathroom. But she was so hoping on those motherfuckers to leave, and to push them back. They didn't come on track. It was so boring that they were being so careful for nothing. But nothing seemed to be closer. Almost felt like they've been played out.
This morning was without Chris, so Leon took care of Claire. No wonder, but Leon always seemed so energized. Maybe because of the amazing youthness, they've shared.

„So, do you know what day it is, today?" Leon asked Claire, as she walked down.

„Can I have two damn minutes for a coffee?" Claire asked while she yawned.

While she poured herself some coffee, she managed to look over to the little calendar. It was February 14th. Damn valentines day. And it almost made her mouth drop. How the hell didn't they realize it.

„What about it?" Claire asked, after she put down her mug.

„As I checked the copy of the notebook, it says something here." Leon said, as he showed the page to her.

„Since when does the whole R.P.D does celebrations to these?" Claire asked. „I thought they only did christmas. That's what I know from past all of those years."

„I thought so, because my old friend worked at R.P.D before me." Leon asnwered. „Seems like a plan, what we need to shut down."

„Something in your words, and it's good." Claire said.

While Claire went upstairs to get ready for this day, she felt sad. About this valentines day thing. This was their first valentines day being together, as a couple, and nothing? No secret presents or anything? The girls are more sad about this, than the boys, as usual.

„Wanna do something fun today? It's valentines day." Leon said.

„Before that damn stuff?" Claire asked. „Maybe yeah. I do wanna have some fast food."

„As you wish." Leon laughed a little. „Then we have to work something out for this."

„Shouldn't we alert Chris about this?" Claire asked.

„I've sent him a message, before I told you about this." Leon answered.

„Alright then. We will be all good then." Claire said.

This day's first half actually went off good. Fort he first time, she felt a little free. Around lunch time, almost turning to the afternoon, even Chris got home. And the three of them could plan out something, in case, for any future happening. A few hours before they could meet up again, Leon left the two of them alone, but for Claire's surprise, nothing happened. She quietly went upstairs to get ready, before they could leave.

More than enough never killed anyone, I guess. Claire thought, as she was leaving the bathroom.

„You didn't speak much today, honey, what's wrong?" Chris asked, as they got in the car.

„Do you know what day is it?" Claire asked back.

„When I do night shifts, I don't care about days." Chris answered. „I didn't forgot your birthday, haven't I?"

„It's not that far from here." Claire muttered. „Where are we attending to?"

„To another shitty R.P.D stuff, why?" Chris answered.

„What is the tematic of that?" Claire asked back, again.

„Valentines day…" Chris answered. As he answered, he realized what he missed out now. „Shit…"

„I knew you would simply forget it." Claire said, as her face turned from smiling to being sad.

„You know who I hate night shifts Claire." Chris started to explain. „And I just forget about the days! Leon didn't even told me! I had to know this all shit from Jill again."

„I thought Leon texted you… He said that…" Claire answered. „I should've texted you too."

„I was rushing home so damn hard to get home, when I knew what was happening that I was screaming all my way home." Chris said.

„This all isn't getting together in my head, something is wrong." Claire said.

„We will get through this. Don't worry." Chris said.

Everything felt more different, than that old Christmas evening at the R.P.D, than this. It was all looking like a plan. And they were really stepping into it.

„Do I feel it, or you too?" Claire asked.

„Pretty much, I guess." Chris answered.

„Sorry for being late." Leon said, as he stopped next to them.

„We arrived a minute ago, nobody said, that you're late." Claire laughed a little.

„I saw some two out having a messing up seassion." Leon said.

„Who do you mean?" Chris asked.

„Claire said, when she collapsed she saw Wesker with that brunette girl, right?" Leon asked.

„Right." Claire said. „She was Jill, why?"

„Those two. It was pretty scary, to be honest." Leon said. „I thought Wesker has hands for Ada, then I guess, he plays for every woman he sees."

„I would've thought Jill doesn't play for someone who is an ex to a friend." Chris muttered.

„Maybe we need to have our eyes on all of them." Claire said.

„Good choice. Let's see what the night brings to us." Leon sighed.

It was all strange, they haven't seen Ada lurking around the shadows now, and Jill didn't even act about having all heart eyes for Wesker. He was his cold usual self. And nothing made sense, agian. But after some time, when the team got all ready for their dinner, there happened something strange.

„Something wrong with your potatoes, Jill?" Chris laughed.

„Something to tell you guys." Jill smiled.

„Split it out!" All of them said, in a loud choir.

„Guess who is the first of the group who is getting married?!" Jill smiled as she stood up, holding her champagne glass.

Now this is where this all gets complicated…

A/N: Oh yay, cliffy-cliffy hangers! The valentines day accident from Chris is based on last year's happening from my fiancé, because he actually forgot it, and bought his friend gift because of birthday, and I was really mad about it. But for this year it didn't happen, I was the only one to get gift to, hehe.

Sorry for not updating. Life hit me like a truck now. I was focusing on work, to clear my mind. I was working non-stop because we said goodbye to my great-grandfather last week, and I cannot handle the pain. Not even now. I will try to be active now...
