Eternally Yours
Chapter Nineteen
„I follow
I'm begging for you to take my hand
Wreck my plans
That's my man" – Willow – Taylor Swift
Disclaimer: I do not Resident Evil, neither the song. I just use this finally to escape from the sad reality we all live in, and what I hate now.
The first morning in a while what Claire spent alone. She could lay around only wearing some tshirt and short pants, and not to be shy around other people. She made herself some tea, then sat outside in the garden. She put her legs on the second chair. The air was fine, and so the weather. Since it was still February. She was suprised to find other things on the little table. A few cigarettes, an old lighter. Nothing unusual, as she thought. How she wanted a cigarette now. How desperate she was now for that. To enjoy it with her warm black tea. She looked around, nobody was about to come near, so she quickly grabbed one cigarette, and lighted it up.
Im sorry, my sweetheart… - Claire thought.
The birds singing voice, how beautiful the morning was. The cigarette wasn't that storng, so it couldn't be Chris's. He smokes a way stronger one. After she finished her last cigarette, she saw someone standing at the front door. She put down her little mug then started to run towards the door. She was happy to see Jill standing at the door, with a sunglass on.
„What are you doing here in this time, don't you work?" Claire asked.
„No, I have way more off days, since I do a little work for my old University too." Jill answered. „So I came in to say hi to my favourite mother."
„Kind of you, really." Claire smiled. She was really desperate for another person to keep her in company. After the last encounter with Leon, everything seemed much bad than expected to be.
„To be honest I was about to pick you up, come on!" Jill said.
„Damn, come in, I have to dress up properly then!" Claire answered as she opened the door for her friend.
Nothing to worry about. Two young woman having a morning to themself. Jill was really on the terms of making a good relationship with Claire, and not knowing anything about the evil plan. Claire quickly got dressed up, wearing a red tshirt, with some red jacket, and a good blue jeans. It was soo much of a spring time to remind everyone of.
„What about my hair?" Claire asked.
„We could paint int!" Jill cheered for it.
„No way." Claire sighed. „The ingredients in the hair paint could be so dangerous for my baby."
„Didn't realize it." Jill sighed. „My mother painted her hair while she had me, so maybe I was lucky."
„Maybe you were, but I don't wanna risk my baby's life." Claire said. „Let's move now."
They finally sat in the car. The last time Claire visited a salon? Not in this lifetime. Maybe when she was fourteen. Kelly always used to do her hair, and never wanted to have any other thing. Like nails. Not a chance.
„Never ever thought I will be here again." Claire sighed.
„We deserve it." Jill said. „Don't worry, time will pass here."
„So does my money…" Claire muttered.
The last few saved up dollars from her old job is about to fly away because Jill dragged her into something. And her getting nails wasn't the thing she wanted to spend her money on.
„How can you even live with those big nails?" Claire asked.
„Got used to it." Jill smiled. „Oh, a little shorter for her, it's her first time."
The lady nodded, then started to work on Claire's nails, making it shorter. The UV led hurted her whole hand and almost cryied when she had to put it back for like almost five minutes, to make the paint last. The strangest thing was that, she couldn't pick the colours. The nail techichan lady made her a white pink baby boomer with a beautiful flower on the ring finger. Strange.
„I wanted red, not this." Claire sighed. „I'm not a girly girl like you. I'm more like a biker girl, you know?"
„It gives feelings now." Jill said. „Look, I'm a girly girl too."
„You have pastel blue, not pink!" Claire almost screamed. „But it cost a lot of money so I have to make this stay this on."
„You better, it will hurt your nails if you make these off from your nails." Jill said.
She took Claire home afterwards, then left her alone. And for her surprise she wasn't alone at all.
„How the fuck did you got in?" Claire asked.
„How do you look? This isn't you?" Leon answered. „I wasn't fast enough."
„I've got my nails done." Claire laughed. „Look, I'm a girl now."
„So not like you." Leon laughed.
„Yeah right?" Claire asked. „I would loved to have some hot fire nail, not this… ugh…"
„And that's all?" Leon asked.
„Yeah." Claire sighed. „I'm so not used to feel like a woman again. I always do ponytails and cut my own nails. But now, I can't even hold anything. Like…" Claire tryied to hold a single candle from the table but it didn't work out for her.
„You have to get used to it." Leon said. „Jill does everything with those big nails."
„I don't even know why I did this!" Claire sighed as she covered her face with her hands.
„It's alright. You got a beautiful nail." Leon said. „But you picked it?"
„No." Claire sighed. „The lady made it for me."
„Something may comming up?" Leon smiled.
„Hell nah." Claire laughed. „We're not those type of couple. We didn't even hit the third month."
„But you all know eachother for all of your lives." Leon explained.
„But he all loved Wesker with his heart, not me. Until now, as we see." Claire said.
„Well, let's take a look at this then." Leon picked up a small black box from the table.
The unexpected was about to come to them…
