Listening to the now gentle patter of rain that fell onto the thin sheet (and water resistant, thank the gods) Jennifer tapped her foot. Had she been five again, years before this whole mess started, she would have run through the rain barefoot and made the droplets of water dance.

Glancing sadly at her boots she sighed. Having been the first to take watch it was nearly midnight, and Jennifer had about an hour left until she could sleep.

Although she welcomed my he darkness that enveloped her, and she did trust Lee to an extent because of his parents, but the nightmares... the memories... they scared her.

Lee snored in his sleep. Jennifer closed her eyes, letting her ears take over. A branch cracked somewhere near the stream that flowed past and behind them. Leaves rustled past with the strong wind. Then Lee bolted upright, suddenly wide awake, his eyes wide and full of fear.

Tears leaked down his face as he curved his arms around his knees. "Lee?" Jennifer asked slowly.

Lee whimpered, shaking his head. "Go 'way."

"Lee, it was a nightmare. It's me, Jen, remember? Open your eyes, it's okay." Careful not to touch Lee, she grabbed a water bottle out of her backpack. "Do you want some water?"

Lee was silent for a moment. Then he nodded, slitting his eyes slightly. "Do you get the nightmares too?" He asked before taking a sip of the water.

"Every time I fall asleep." She told him honestly.

"Comforting."

His sarcastic remark made Jen smile gently. "Yeah. Can't complain."

Taking another sip of water he offered it to Jennifer. Declining it she explained all she had to do was step in the rain.

"You... won't get wet?"

She shook her head. "Legacy of Poseidon thing, but only my little sister could do it."

"And you."

"And me, yes."

An hour later Lee was on watch and Jennifer was curled up in the back of the tent.

As her head hit the edge of her backpack, or her makeshift pillow, the world went dark.

Perseus Jackson was leaning against a wall made of sea shells, A small smirk on his face. He looked to be around twenty six, twenty seven.

"I'm telling you, this is gonna be great. The wedding will be perfect."

Nico Di Angelo responded, the point of view rotating to show him in a pure black suit. "Yeah... Were you this nervous?"

"You," He started. "Ghost King, is afraid of marriage?"

"Oh, shut it Jackson. How's Annabeth?"

"Good... but I think she might be sick or something. Like, that stomach bug that's going around."

Nico repressed a smile. Dating - no, marrying - a doctor could come in hand sometimes.

"Your smiling."

"Am not." Nico denied.

"Why?"

"Just... ask Annabeth tomorrow."

"Ask her... ask her why your smiling."

Nico gasped, his eyes going wide. "I have finally found out that you are a dumbass."

Raising an eyebrow Percy let out a breath.

As he opened his mouth to reply - some snarky comment that would not be fit for children - the sky turned black, a deep dark red coloring the clouds. Percy and Nico froze, as if time had stopped. They crumbled to ash and were blown away by a strong gust of wind.

Fear me, his voice thundered. The gods have faded! Bow before my, fear my name! You have no hope, children. Give up. Fear me...

Jennifer bolted upright. Her eyes were wide. His voice continued to thunder, a rampage of being unable to run.

Lee looked around. "Do you hear that?" He asked, fear coloring his voice.

Jennifer stumbled to her feet, grabbing her backpack as Lee grabbed his. Stuffing a few granola bars and the water resistant sheet into her backpack and another water bottle, she grabbed a few sticks and made sure she had her dagger.

"You ready?" Jen asked Lee, voice wobbling.

"Yeah."

Fear me! He shouted as the two started to run, feet grazing over twigs and dead grass. Thunder rang across the land as lightning crashed down.

Grabbing Lee's hand she turned sharply to the left, she made the thick water that rained down on them veer to the side.

You will never escape me! I am the pit! I am eternal death! I was born from chaos himself, and I am the holder of all monsters! Fear me, and bow down!

Never! Jennifer nearly shrieked. Instead she stayed silent and kept her head down, pulling Lee with her.
