Summary: Tsuna is confronted with the consequences of Future Decimo's choices. Will it confirm his own choices? A sequel of 'Contemplation of a Choice".
Hi everybody, this is the last chapter of this story. Thank you to those who review and favourite the previous chapter. I hope you like this chapter.
"I fell in love with him. But I don't just stay with him by default as if there's no one else available to me. I stay with him because I choose to, every day that I wake up, every day that we fight or lie to each other or disappoint each other. I choose him over and over again, and he chooses me."
Veronica Roth (Allegiant (Divergent, #3))
Previous Chapter. Deception.
Vongola Decimo put his wife's Box Weapon on top of his desk.
"Won't you stop hiding now, Mia Cara Moglie?" He uttered firmly while still staring intensely at it.
He saw the Box shook then stopped moving.
"Stop pretending, Moglie (Wife). I know you are there." Decimo told the Box coldly.
The Box was unmoved. Decimo sighed exasperatedly and gave it a look as if it was a misbehaved child.
He put the Box back in his hand.
"Should I open it for you, Mia Cara?" He smiled at it crookedly.
And, thus, after years of deception, Vongola Decimo finally met his wife again for the first time.
Chapter 23. The Long-Awaited Reunion.
Future.
It was a suffocating silence, inside the Vongola Decimo's private office, between husband and wife, who had been separated for years. Lady Vongola in her Anaconda form was floating in front of her husband with an empty look.
Tsuna looked at Kanna intensely and gave her a critical look. Hesitantly, his hands hovered at her and slowly touch her.
Kanna jerked in surprised, while Tsuna put her in his lap. He had a contemplative look, and then he gave her a small smile.
"Moglie, you are finally here." Tsuna said in a relieved tone.
Kanna looked down in hesitation, but then she looked up at him.
"I am here, Marito." She said resignedly.
Tsuna narrowed his eyes at her.
"I want your explanation, Moglie." He asked sharply.
Kanna sighed tiredly. "I am sure you already guess by now."
"I want to hear your explanation." Tsuna corrected his words.
"I faked my death." Kanna said in a dead tone.
"Why!" Tsuna demanded calmly.
"I don't know what to do with you anymore." Kanna told him regretfully.
Tsuna was quiet at that. To be honest, he did not know if he should be angry or apologize to her. Because he knew that he did not act reasonably in the past, that his wife choice might be the best at the time. Her letter also explained it to him.
"I… I understand why you left, but I wish you did not." Tsuna mentioned softly. "I am angry at you. And, it hurt that you choose to leave me."
Kanna looked down in silence.
"Are you giving up on me?" Tsuna asked desperately.
Kanna looked at him hesitantly.
"Even if you do. I am not giving up on you." He decided firmly.
Her eyes widened. "Tsunayoshi…"
She called him in reproach. He gritted his teeth in agitation.
"You…" He began. "You were always saying that I should accept the fact that I am Vongola Decimo. That I need to think about Vongola's best interest. That I should stop being in denial about my life."
He gave her an accusing look. "But, aren't you the same. Aren't you also in denial?"
"Tsunayoshi… Please." She called out pleadingly. "You know that I have no choice."
He glared at her. "Are you, really?"
She stared at him, silently begging him to stop. He looked away from her and slammed his fists on his desk.
Kanna flinched at the loud noise and floated away from him.
"I love you, Moglie. I really do." He shouted desperately. "I told you so many times, but you either dismiss or ignore it. You can't possibly think that I will move on and marry someone else after you left."
"It was for your own good." She said firmly.
"No." Tsuna spitted out. "You can deny all you want, Moglie. But, you know me. You kept telling me to find a mistress, but you already know that I am not going to do it. You kept reminding me that our marriage is temporary, but you already know that I am not going to let you go. You kept denying that you already know that I love you too much that I will destroy anything for you."
"I don't want you to destroy anything for me." Kanna screamed desperately. "You selfish scoundrel, why can't you understand. I am not just your wife, I am also Lady Vongola and a member of Cervello. Do you realize how difficult it was to balance those roles?"
"I just want you to stay with me." Tsuna voiced. "Why can't you just be my wife and ignore the rest."
"You already know why I can't. I don't even need to tell you why anymore." Kanna countered.
Tsuna lowered his head while clenching his trembling fists.
"Moglie, do you love me?" He asked without looking at her.
"I… What?" She asked in surprise.
He laughed deprecatingly. "Are you going to deny me that too?"
"That…" She trailed off.
"You know my feeling, but you never tell me yours." Tsuna mentioned. "Even until the end you never give me a clear answer."
"You know why I can't answer that." She said tiredly.
"I see." Tsuna uttered softly. "I want to destroy Cervello."
"You can't do that." She said in protest.
"Why not?" Tsuna said.
"Just… Stop it, Tsunayoshi." Kanna begged in distress. "A lot of people will die. It's not like you to condone senseless killings."
"What are you talking about?" Tsuna said deceptively. "I am the Boss of the bloodiest Famiglia in Italy. This type of thing shouldn't be a surprise."
"But you are not just Vongola Decimo. Sawada Tsunayoshi wouldn't do something like this. You are going to regret it."
"No, I won't. I am not a Saint, Moglie. You know that."
"Please Tsunayoshi. This is not like you."
"How would you know, you never meet me before I become Vongola Decimo."
"I… I don't know."
Tsuna grabbed Kanna from the air and put her back in his lap.
"I guess you wouldn't know that. Since you did not remember being Natsume Shirayuri."
"What! How did you know that?" Kanna exclaimed in surprise.
Tsuna gave her an unimpressed look. "As if I am going to be that blind. With my intuition, I was bound to find out sooner or later."
"You are not supposed to remember." Kanna muttered.
"Yet, it still happens."
"Is that why you didn't want to let me go?"
Tsuna snorted. "I had loved Yuri, but she is in the past now. My feeling for you has nothing to do with her."
"Then, if you can let her go, why not me?" Kanna questioned.
Tsuna huffed in frustration. "Is that so hard to understand?"
"Yes, it is."
"Moglie, unlike you, Yuri never belong to me. That's why I could let her go, unlike you."
"But, I only belong to you temporarily."
"I don't care. Once you become mine, you belong to me forever."
"You are being selfish."
"You already know that I am a selfish and possessive person."
Kanna sighed.
"You know, Moglie. You warned me before that I will regret marrying you." Tsuna mentioned thoughtfully. "The truth is while our marriage is not easy, I never regret it."
"Oh." Kanna let out.
"But, what about you? Do you ever regret marrying me?"
He gave her a hard look as if preparing to be rejected. Kanna looked away from him.
"Tsunayoshi, don't destroy Cervello or anything else, please."
He looked disappointed at her answer.
"In exchange, I will stay with you. As long as you keep my presence a secret from everyone."
His eyes widened in surprise.
"Really!"
Kanna's form began to glow, then the Flames grew into the size of a human. Tsuna looked at the human form of his wife with tears in his eyes. Then, without hesitation, he hugged the Flamely woman sitting in his lap.
"You will stay with me?" Tsuna asked in disbelief.
"I will." His wife replied while hugging him back. "And, you should know that all my choices, I made them for you. And, they are not easy choices. They hurt me too."
"I am sorry." Tsuna said between tears.
"I never regret marrying you either." She whispered into his ear, which made him shuddered.
"It is not easy to love you, but I am glad that it's you that I fell in love with." She uttered softly.
Tsuna pulled away from her and looked at her with wide disbelief eyes. "Do you love me?"
"Yes."
After her confirmation, he kissed her lips chastely, then hugged her tightly. Subsequently, he cried on her shoulder in relief for the entire night.

Present.
Tsunayoshi stood in front of a house located somewhere in French. He walked purposely to the front door and knocked it before his nerves got the better of him.
The door was opened by a woman in a mask, Suzanne, the same person that Tsunayoshi expected to find there.
She tilted her head questioningly. "Sawada-san, what can I do for you?"
He held out the box in his hands to her. "This is for you."
She looked at him in confusion, but she still took the box.
"Can I come in?" He asked.
"Oh, sure."
She brought them inside and into the living room. She put the box on the table.
"Why don't you see what's inside?" He asked as if challengingly.
She decided to listen to him and opened the box. Inside was a letter and a braid of black hair. She stared at them in confusion.
"Sawada-san, what's the meaning of this?"
"Why don't you tell me?!" He said seriously.
"I don't understand."
"Take the hair." He told her.
She gave him an irritated look but still listen to him. She took out the hair from the box, then suddenly, she fell into a trance.
Tsunayoshi saw her took the hair and saw Mist Flames flickering in her eyes. Afterwards, to his surprise, the black hair turned white.
In his confusion, he did not realize that she was looking at him.
"Tsunayoshi."
He looked up in surprise and saw that she did not wear her mask anymore. He could see her familiar purple eyes and her hair was not pink anymore, instead, it was white. While, some parts of her were unfamiliar, but her face was still familiar to him. So, he recognized who stood before him.
"Shirayuri."
They remained silent while staring and cataloguing each other. Then, she sighed in resignation and sat down in the nearest chair.
"You found me." She remarked.
"Byakuran told me that if I find you then you will not leave me again." Tsunayoshi voiced. "Is that true?"
She looked at the man that stood before her with doubt full on his face.
"Yes, it is true. I will not leave if you don't want me to."
He looked at her in relief. Afterwards, he walked toward her and knelt before her. Then, he held both of her hands.
"Then, I want to ask…" He trailed off.
She could felt his hands shaking.
"Will you marry me?"
"What?!" She shouted. "I thought you would ask for an explanation first."
He smiled calmly, though she still felt his hands shaking.
"You already promise that you are not going to leave. I can hear your explanation anytime. I am sure that whatever you say isn't going to change what I feel. So, I need to propose to you before I lose my courage." He explained.
"But, you don't even ask how I feel about you. Are you sure that I like you enough to marry you?" She countered.
She saw him looked down and felt that his hands shook even more.
"No, I don't know how you feel for me." He muttered softly.
Then, he looked up at her determinedly. "I afraid that I will lose my chance if I don't propose right away."
He held her hands tighter. "And, I need to know if it will be possible for us. If you reject me now, I will let you go and you can leave anytime you want, I will not force you to stay. But, if you accept my proposal, I will warn you now that I will not let you go, and if you run and hide from me then I will not give up looking for you and take you back with me."
He gave her a serious and determined stare, despite his shaking hands. And, she knows that he was serious and whatever her answer, she could not take it back.
"I…" She let out a sigh. "Okay, I will marry you."
His eyes widened. "Are you sure?"
"Yes."
He slumped in relief and put his head on her lap.
"By the way, why is your hair white?"
"It has always been white. The black hair is an illusion."
"Oh, I don't know that." He looked up at her. "I miss you."
"I miss you too."
Thereafter, they kept staring at each other while holding hands.
Meanwhile, outside the window.
"Shouldn't you kiss already! What are you waiting for?" Someone said impatiently.
