Summary: Natsu was kidnapped by a dark guild a few days after Erza was declared to be the 7th guild master of Fairy Tail. Three weeks after Natsu got kidnapped, Zeref, who heard what happen to Natsu, pass by a castle where he heard Natsu screams. The dark mage saved him, but the fairy tail mages arrive when he healed Nastu and both of them revealed something that the other mages never accepted for a few years.

Then suddenly the rest of the siblings arrived and went towards the older ones, followed by Aoi, who flew towards his mistress and lands at Natsu's shoulder. The said princess glance at her pet before looking back at us and raised her hand, which made Aoi flew and then blue flames began to surround him and everything was white before revealing…)

(And the next scene was two cliffs facing each other, strong winds blowing. On each cliff stood the Fairytail mages and the Alvarez rulers and shields. The Fairy Tail mages are standing in line, frowning, while their enemies were smirking at them, except the princes and princesses who are smiling, the smiles, however, are cold and give them shivers. However, it was only Gray who had his eyes widen slowly upon making eye contact with the Heiress, who was smiling gently at him. Thunderflashes in the background, followed by a white flash.)

"Who are you?" The three mages looked at each other for a few more moments, before Romeo and Asuka snapped out of their trance and the pain they were feeling. Shaking their heads, the two of them realize that this person is Akabane Kira, which made them understand why Gildarts was all emotional yesterday. If they didn't know any better, they would think that the woman in front of them is Natsu. If only they knew the truth.
"Ah… sorry… we thought you were someone we knew." Romeo stated, "I'm Romeo, this is girl is my friend and partner, Asuka. We're mages from the Fairy tail Guild." He introduced. However, as his mind finally process what is happening, he realized that the person in front of them asked who they are when they didn't even mention her name. They whispered their Natsu-nii's name, not her.
"Ahh…" The pink-haired girl in front of them hummed, turning to look at them and smiled. "My name is Kira, Akabane Kira. It's a pleasure to meet you." She introduced herself, bowing her head at the end. Mentally, Kira is kicking herself for asking who they are when they didn't even mention her fake name. She needs to redirect their attention from her mistake.
"A pleasure to meet you too," Asuka said.
"We're using Asuka and Romeo to gather information?!" Wendy said, slamming her hands on the table when she understood what her sister had planned. "Would they even give pieces of information so freely?"
"Probably… those two and, as far as I know, Gildarts are yearning for me. While it would benefit us to mind control Gildarts as he is the current guild master, making things easier… they might notice something weird, all eyes, ears, and mouth are on their masters as the members will certainly search for their guidance. We are not sure how the past years had gone with them, so we are currently walking blind here."
"But I wouldn't worry too much if they have ordinary people there, we should worry about their leaders or commanders who can hide their magic presence as the Second Grandmaster said that 'they will be here as ordinary people'… so it means that they could send a commander and they could pretend to be like n ordinary person." At this Gray glance at the team that was with him during this mission.
"And we already met one person who was able to hide their magic level and a person who had an enormous amount of it." This, of course, made everyone clamor as they look at him. "When we went to rescue the Second Grand Master years ago, we stopped at the Caracolle Island, a few days away from Arakistashia, there are already plenty of fleets of the empire, inspecting the harbor."
"The guards were having us all lined up and even asking for the guild mark, though they have no magic at all." Lucy continued, looking down at the floor. "However, there was a commotion, it was a girl asking for her father from the guards and then one of the guards was about to hit the girl when he was stopped… by their commander."
"Commander?"
"You won't be able to sense the magic of that Commander, for she was trained for it to be hidden." He said, making everyone look at him, shocked. "That commander was the sister of the Emperor… Princess Etherias."
"EHHHH?!"
"The Princess?!" At this revelation, everyone, and this time everyone, was shocked. Especially those who had gone to get Makarov back.
"We already met the princess and she was able to those?!" Lucy exclaimed, her hands on her face as it turns blue.
"If that was the level of the princess… then what would the Emperor be like!?" Erza asked, looking at their Father, who had his sight down to the floor.
"We cannot beat him if we try." This admission, froze all of them, even Gildarts and Mavis. For the second powerful mage in their guild to admit that the Emperor can't be beaten… then this ruler is strong… maybe stronger than Zeref.
"That's why I beg of you… to never, ever break the conditions laid down by the emperor." Makarov pleaded, raising his head and looked at them in the eyes.
"I know this is sudden, but… can you monitor the Akabanes'?" She asked, making them blink in shock before they looked at one another.
"We don't mind but…" Erza trailed off, as their eyes went back to her, before continuing. "Why?"
"I know that it's probably impossible that those family of three are the 'guest' we are talking about. But I hardly find it believable that they are ordinary people, and merely seeking refugees here in our city. If they are traveling around Ishgar to search for a place they can call home, then they could have settled on other guilds that are present and are probably nearer to their previous home. While the rest of the guilds are not as strong as us, they are still strong enough to provide protection. So for deciding Fairy Tail be the one they are staying at… it's a little suspicious." She stated while the three mages looked at her intensely.
"Do you want us to just monitor them?" Lucy asked, making Mavis sighs.
"It's the best thing we can do. I want you to talk to them but if those three are our 'guest' then the chances of breaking the conditions we have are high should we pester them." She mumbled.
"There is that…" Gray admitted. It took a minute but then Mavis sighed in defeat.
"As much as I want to avoid breaking the conditions if it is for the sake of Magnolia and Ishgar then…" Inhaling deeply, Mavis looked at them in the eyes.
"This is my order. Monitor and Find out more about the Akabane's. Should they ever be the people that the 'guest' that we are searching for then restrain them and bring them to me. We will find out what they want and why… If things come to worst… we may have a war against them, should that happen… we will be prepared." She ordered, this, of course, shocked them.
"But… First Grandmaster…" Gray started slowly. "Can we truly be ready against them? I mean…" Trailing off, Mavis smiled and merely said.
"I understand your concern, Gray… but Alvarez is merely strong due to their numbers… should a war happen, we will ally ourselves with the other guilds for the sake of Ishgar."
"Avoiding suspicions might be hard now." She stated, making her siblings look at her. "According to Aoi, Makarov has already mentioned to the fairies that we are coming here in Ishgar, but he had to re-explain the truce and even mentioned our empire."
"Mentioning the empire is breaking one of our conditions," Wendy pointed.
"Apparently, the Grandmaster of the Fairies thinks that it'll be okay," Aoi said.
"There are no exemptions when it comes to conditions." Zeref's smirk slowly widens. "That's one condition broken."
"You will be also spied on," Aoi added, making the siblings of his mistress to hum. "I saw three fairies talking to thin air, but I was able to hear them say First Master and First Grandmaster."
"Their talking to Mavis's Projection, which can only be seen if a mage carries the fairies mark." Wendy thought out loud.
"Then it's a huge possibility that they received the order a direct order from her to Monitor us and get some information. I heard a blond-haired mage asking if they should just monitor them, the raven-haired mage if they are ready and the red-haired mage will get information about what, why, and when." The phoenix finished, while the remaining heiress of the empire looked at Wendy, who looked back at her.
"She's sending Erza, Gray, and Lucy." They said at once.
"Huh… why those three?" Zeref asked.
"When I was a part of their team we were known as the strongest. And considering we have the Titania, it's more understandable why she chooses them." Natsu stated, gently patting the top of Aoi's head when he leaned his long neck down and towards her.
"Well… they broke one of the conditions." Zeref said, leaning at the back of the sofa, crossing his legs over the other and leaned his elbow on the arm of the said seat, followed by leaning his face on the close fist of the said elbow.
"Maybe," Natsu mumbled. "But it's not enough reason to suddenly do what we wanted." She sighed, sitting down and leaning beside her older brother, who then wrapped an arm around her shoulder. Wendy looked at them for a while before seeing Natsu raising her arms, making the Wind Dragon Slayer smile, and head towards her older sister and snuggled with her as well. Aoi then flew around them before stopping at the other arm of the sofa and looked at the Heiress of their clan and family.
"So we will still proceed with what we plan?" Wendy asked, snuggling to her sister's chest upon feeling a vibration when she hummed.
"Yeah… but we need to be careful though. I got a feeling bad feeling about what they will do if they found out who we truly are when we haven't even started yet." Zeref mumbled, suddenly feeling sleepy.
"Then… tomorrow…" Natsu trailed off and then a few seconds later, she was snoring softly, feeling safe the presence of her siblings and pet. Wendy soon followed after, while Aoi merely went beside Fluffy and they both sleep at the floor a foot away from the sofa. Zeref yawned once more before his eyes slowly sliding shut and soon they were all asleep, no sign of tension for what will happen tomorrow or in the future.
"Hai! Please let us assist you!" Asuka said, making them look at her. "We got nothing to do… oh well… we plan to visit a certain place for a while, and after that, we got nothing to do." She then smiled at her. Kira blinked, before smiling, reluctantly.
"I don't know…" She said, stepping back for a bit.
"We promise not to harm you or let anyone or anything harm you," Romeo promised, Kira glance at them and then back at the forest multiple times before sighing.
"Okay, I'll let you assist me." She agreed, making the teens for the first time in three years to smile happily.
"Really?" Asuka asked.
"But!" They paused when Kira raised a hand with her index finger pointing up, the rest close into a fist, and her other hand that was holding the basket was laid down to her waist. "We will finish whatever plan that you have! I'm not selfish to let you assist and delay you with whatever you planned." The teens pouted at that, making her blink in shock.
"Ara…" She then giggled. "So you can act like your age." She grinned teasingly as they suddenly had a blushing cheek.
"Who are they?" She asked, Romeo and Asuka gave her a small, fond, yet doleful smile.
"They were a part of our guild. Our Natsu-nii and Wendy-nee." Romeo gestured to the said mages, while Asuka pointed at the Exceeds'.
"Those are Carla, Happy, and Lily. They were amazing members." She giggled.
"What happens to them?" She asked, looking at the shrines. From the corner of her eyes, she saw how the teens became sadder and their gazes when to their family, unable to look at her in the eyes.
"They left… they left because some members of ours did something horrible."
"That guy with the pink hair, he's full name is Natsu Dragneel, right?" She asked, pointing at the picture. Though shock that this girl knew about their Natsu-nii, they nodded. "I thought so! Three years ago, he and some cloaked mages stayed for a month in our village!"
"EH!?" The teen mages asked her. Finally, after three years they can hear about their missing family, even if they're a bit delayed.
"Yup!" Natsu chirped, her mind began to spin some lies. "Three years ago, we were attacked by some bandits, and we weren't mages, so we're pretty much defenseless when he appeared in a blazing fire and…" And thus her story of a heroic fire mage, wind mage, with flying cats and a genius mage began. While Natsu is telling this story to gain their trust, the story was full truth as she and her siblings had saved a village in Arakitashia, but not from Bandits or dark mages (their empire is made up of dark mages, so why would their citizens attack a village if they have something in their empire? though it's more like their dark mages with a golden heart. But what their enemy won't know, won't hurt them), they saved the village from a rampagings beasts, and it took a month to defeat all of them without draining too much of their magic. It took half an hour to finish her story and she finished it with words that would side Romeo and Asuka with her, no matter what.
"Though we asked them to stay a little while longer, Natsu-kun said that they need to go and train. They have no guild, they have each other and thus training will help them protect one another…" She gave them a bright smile. "Before leaving… Natsu-kun promised that when he's strong enough, he'll head back to our village, that he'll protect us, because… because we were friends. Friends that we can rely on and friends that can help us teach to protect our own. Friends that will never leave each other behinds. Friends that will treat each other as family. That I, Kira Akabane, is his friend on the day he left and will be his partner on the day he came back." She finished, Romeo and Asuka's eyes widen.
"PARTNER?! AS IN LOVER!?" They asked, Natsu giggled, though inwardly she's sweatdropping.
'Did I say lover?' She thought, before shaking the thought from her mind, inwardly shuddering. 'I'm not a narcissist.'
"Yup! I'll be he's partner, but not as a lover. He explained that I'll be like Happy, who is his partner! Happy is his partner on air, while I'm his partner on land and strategy." She explained, making the teens relaxed slightly.
'I thought we were disrespecting Natsu-nii's lover!' They thought. 'But… if Natsu-nii promised and said that then… We will protect Kira-san until she found Natsu-nii again!'
"Then!" Romeo and Asuka said at once. "Until Natsu-nii arrives, we'll protect you in his place!"
"Eh?"
"Mmmm! We'll protect you from anything and anyone that will dare harm and will never, ever doubt you!"
(Bloody 22: The Aftermath)
(Gray Third Person POV during the Incident)
Gray was walking a few steps behind his female teammates when his eyes decided to glance around. Double taking to the side where he saw one of the people Mavis put under investigation with the children of their friend in the guild. He stopped walking and turned fully to look at them, he also heard Erza and Lucy stopping but his eyes are focus on the woman standing a step behind Romeo and Asuka.
"Asuka-chan, Romeo-kun," He heard Erza called out and watch with sad eyes as the teens took a step back instead and shifted into a posture that may seem relax but can easily change into a defensive stance. The person behind them was trembling in fear and even back away from the teens, catching the attention of the young mages in front of her, before it went back to Erza. "What are you doing here?"
"And why should we tell you?" Romeo asks her rather coldly, this made Gray flinch and from the corner of his eyes, he saw his teammates did the same.
"Just… humor us." Lucy stated. Gray knew that she was smiling to assure them that they mean nothing bad. The Ice mage saw Asuka looked at the direction where Lucy is standing, then at the woman behind her and Romeo, and then back at them.
"Harvesting some wild fruits." At that, Gray eyed the pink-haired woman, narrowing them when she tightens her grip on her basket.
'When do they harvest some fruits?' He thought, not sure whether they are lying or not. The basket was covered with a cloth so he can't say if there's fruit inside or none.
"Do you have a problem with Kira-san, Gray?" Romeo asked him, his tone still holding its coldness. Said mage looked at the teen, then at the pink-haired Akabane before resting his eyes on Erza, who met his eyes and she then looks at Romeo and Asuka.
"How did you know her name?" That question was answered by a very harsh glare from the teens with a shouted statement.
"How we know her name doesn't matter! And we asked you first!"
"Asuka-chan… we don't know who that person is, she and her family are new here."
"We asked her! Is that enough?!"
'Things are getting worse.' Gray thought as he glances at Lucy, who was biting her lips when their eyes met.
"Why are you with her?" Erza continued, their eyes immediately went towards the red-haired. An awful feeling in Gray's gut was starting to settle down.
"Oi, Erza…" Gray called out softly, gritting his teeth when he was ignored by his leader. He didn't know what was going on in Erza's mind but it wasn't good. Especially, when Romeo and Asuka both took a step back from them and towards the girl behind them. He saw Asuka opening her mouth and whispered something only the three of them can hear, he also saw the raven-haired girl reaching out to the person behind them as Romeo smirked.
Gray's eyes widen and he knew his teammates are also the same as him. The cold-hearted teens of the guild sided with a girl none of them knew, even more, it's one of the people their First Master is suspicious of. This made them, though unconsciously, tense as they didn't' know whether the woman manipulated or used magic towards the teens. But Gray knew that he and his team would rescue them, even if they'll be hated… however… he would rather not have the girl injure, just so that the teens won't hate them too much. If he could show to Romeo and Asuka that they were being used without hurting the pink-haired woman, they might understand… just a bit. His teammate has other ideas.
"Romeo-kun, Asuka-chan…" Lucy called out softly, and the ice mage saw her reaching towards her whip slowly from the corner of his eyes. "Come here for a minute please."
'What are you doing Lucy?!' Gray thought harshly, as Romeo asked 'Why?' had his eyes narrowed at them. Gray also saw Asuka grabbing her gun but didn't remove it from the holster. 'Why are you acting so hostile towards her, Erza?! Lucy?!' He added in his thought. And while he could follow their actions, he had no hostile feelings towards the woman. Suspicious, wary, and tense yet, but he had no intention of bringing harm to her.
"We want you to stay back from that woman. She's new here. We don't know who she or her family is. So I want you to come here, while we talk to the woman." He heard Erza's stated, and from the looks of it, her patience is running thin.
"No way! We know who she is and where she comes from! Your just jealous that we show our emotions in front of Kira-san, who is new here, then to you who is a member of the guild!" At Asuka's statement, Gray couldn't help but answer for the first time since this rising tense atmosphere started.
"We're not jealous, Asuka-chan. We just need to be careful with people we just met."
"We know all about that meeting new people! We're not kids!" Romeo shouted at him and he opened his mouth to answer but Erza beat him to it… and from the looks of it, she finally snapped.
"Well, your acting like a kid right now! I told you to come here and let us talk with her instead you didn't listen and continue to stay with her!"
"Erza!" He heard Lucy yelled at their leader but like what Erza did to him earlier, she ignored the blond.
"Why are you even siding with her!? Your nothing but cold teens when Natsu and the others disappeared and now suddenly she appeared and your all friendly with her! SO YOU WILL COME HERE AND LET US TALK TO HER!"
'ERZA!' Gray shouted in his mind, just when his leader flinched back. 'Stop it! Damn it, mouth! Open up!' Gray's black eyes then went towards the teen who had their eyes covered by their hair and the person behind them was looking at the mages in front of her with concern.
"Shut up! The reason why we're cold was because of what you did to Natsu-nii and the others!" Romeo shouted at them, Gray felt his heart being stab when he was reminded of what he and the other did years ago. Even more so when tears began to form on Asuka's eyes. "And now… your acting like what you did years back again! Your judging a person by who they are! Well, we know who Kira-san is, more importantly, she knew Natsu-nii and that's all matter to us! We won't go there or anywhere near you! And we sided with her because she's important to us and understands us! Natsu-nii also promised to protect her and we'll protect her until he comes back! So leave her alone!"
'They were really close to you, flame brain.' Gray and upon seeing Erza opening her mouth again, Gray and Lucy tried to gain her attention but it was all for naught.
"Natsu, Natsu, Natsu! All you're talking about is Natsu! For all, you know she could be lying about knowing Natsu! We haven't heard anything about him so he could be dead by now!" Erza yelled. Though when her words registered in his mind, he froze and Gray knew he wasn't the only one. For years of hearing nothing about Natsu and others, nearly everyone thought that they were dead. The only people believing that their alive are the teens in front of them, Gildarts and Gramps. Gray would like to include himself in that list but that would be a lie because as much as it pains, the ice mage is starting to believe that they were gone and if they died under Zeref's hand then he has no one but to blame himself for letting them, him, go.
Gray looked at the forest floor, his hair covering his close eyes, ignoring any movements created by the others as he tried to gather his composure. He didn't care what Erza will do next or what will be said next. He just wants the pain in his heart to stop.
'Make it stop! Make it stop! MAKE IT STOP!' Gray felt darkness surround him and there's no way out… no… way… out.
"Your wrong!" Gray snaps his eyes open as the darkness recedes and light began to surround him. He looked up and saw the pink-haired girl hugging Asuka, her blue eyes narrowed at them angrily.
"Natsu-kun is alive! He promised me that he'll come back as a strong mage and once he did I'll be his partner!" The raven-haired ice maker felt a twinge of pain in his heart. "True we haven't heard anything about him for the past three years but that doesn't mean that you should assume he's dead! He also had a sibling who cared for him and his companions! They had each other to protect one another and thus him dying is highly impossible! He's not a person who will break their promise easily and you have no right to yell at Asuka and Romeo if they only care about Natsu-kun! Because for them he's their most precious person in the whole world!"
Gray hid a smile, relief that there's someone outside the guild who believe that Natsu was still alive. But… should he trust her words? She could be an enemy… what should he believe?
"SHUT UP!"
"Don't tell me to shut up when you bring nothing but them towards these two! If someone should shut up it should be you!" Gray's eyes widen and he knew the others were the same. Someone talk back to Erza! People don't do that… well, people that knew the Titania. The Ice Mage saw how Asuka and Romeo looked at Kira, whose eyes are filled with certainty, and how the words she spoke right after made their tears disappear, and straighten their back as they looked at him and his teammates, a sign that they agree with her. "Natsu-kun is alive! And as long as I believe he is and there's no dead body or even a grave, shown to me then… NATSU IS ALIVE!"
It was silence between the two groups before Gray relaxed and thought that they might have the wrong person to investigate, so then decided that enough was enough. He took a step forward and gently grabs Erza's shoulder.
"Let it go, Erza. Let's leave them alone." From the corner of his eyes, he saw Lucy nodding in the agreement but his leader merely had her hair cover her eyes. This made him frowned before taking a step back when Erza suddenly whispered.
"Kansō!"
"Hold on! Erza!" He shouted but was ignored by the said mage as her magic circle appeared underneath her feet.
"Yamete! Erza" Lucy screamed as Gray gritted his teeth before freezing when he saw Erza's eyes filled with Darkness, regret, and guilt. When he and Lucy saw that, they knew that she was deeply affected by that person… Kira as the teens called her, had said. But…
'Does it means that you believed Natsu was dead, Erza?' He thought before his eyes widen when the red-haired was equipped into her Wind God Armor.
"Fūjinn no Yoroi!"
"ERZA! ERZA STOP!" He and Lucy shouted as they saw the other group frozen in shock and tried to restrain her but it was pointless. "RUN! ROMEO! ASUKA!"
But then something happens that they weren't able to predict. Kira, one of the people they were doubting of, pushed the two teens away from the attack and took all the brunt of the attack. He saw how the wind sliced through her clothes and skins, and how blood flows out of her wound. He heard her screamed when the attack hit her and the tree breaking and creaking when she slammed to it. He then heard her body fell to the ground. Seeing her body on the ground with blood coming out of it, Gray snapped out from his shocks and immediately run towards her, shouting.
"OI! Are you okay?! Wake up! Open your eyes! Oi!" He then fell to his knees before carefully cradling her in his arms once he reached her and then analyzed her wounds. 'Shit! This is bad!'
"KIRA-SAN!" He heard the teenagers screamed as he tried to wake her up. When he heard a thump, they all turn and saw Erza kneeling and her magic deactivated.
'Erza…' Gray thought regretfully and painfully. This would be bad, what she did is very bad. '
This would set her back. She already used her magic to hurt Wendy, Carla, Lily, and Happy years ago. And now she used magic to hurt a civilian. No matter what her reason is, the Masters won't let this go so easily. There's also her family and the mayor.' Remembering the woman in his arms, Gray went back to wake her up.
"Oi… can you wake up for me? Kira? Your name is Kira, right?" The Ice Mage asked softly, patting her cheeks softly. When he heard her groan, he grinned, unable to explain this huge amount of feeling relief. Gray then balanced her as he carefully stood up and ensuring that she was secure in his arms. He did pause when Romeo and Asuka went to check on her.
"I'm glad…" He heard her whispered as she reached out her hand that was covered with blood. "Your okay…" He froze for a second, this person was injured, yet she cared more about the teens that herself… she's… she's… like Natsu. He internally shakes his head and gently shakes her when he saw her eyes closed.
"Oi! I need you to stay awake! Can you do that for me?! Oi!" Gray shouted before his breath hitched when she opened her eyes again and looked at him, smiling. He leaned back a bit and slowly raised one hand, letting her upper body lean against his, and wipe some blood off her face using the sleeves of his jacket. What he saw was a beautiful sight. The smile matches the girl perfectly despite the blood on her face. Maybe if she wasn't covered in blood, her smile could be something he didn't want to forget. Though Natsu's smile is still the most beautiful smile Gray saw, this girl's smile could be placed right after Natsu.
"I'll… try…" Kira whispered gently, snapping Gray from his thoughts. He then smiled at her and lifted the injured woman back in her arms, carrying her bridal style and immediately run towards the city. Though it pained him, Gray left his leader kneeling on the ground and ignored the teens that went with him. It wasn't long before he reached the edge of the town where he saw a group of people gathering, probably heard Lucy screaming. He saw disbelief and horror in their faces when they saw the pink-haired lady in his arms and couldn't help but thought what they will think about the Titania of Fairy Tail. Some townspeople tried to be helpful as they run towards the direction of the Magnolia hospital. Some were running towards the guild, while the rest were running with him and the cold-hearted teenagers of Fairy Tail.
"Gray!" Lucy's voice called out, this made Gray and his group paused and look behind them. The group sighed and cheered in relief upon seeing her sitting on the front chair of a carriage being pulled by a boar with Reedus beside her, holding the reign.
"LUCY!" Gray heard Romeo and Asuka shouted as the carriage paused beside them.
"Hop on!" She then shouted as Gray watched the teens run towards the back of the carriage and climbed in. The ice mage immediately stepped behind the carriage once they were settled and handed the woman to them before lifting himself while they laid the pink-haired lady down. Sitting down at her left side where the teens sat down on the other, both of them either grabbing her hand or arm. The raven-haired mage looks and nods at the Celestial Spirit Mage, who nods back and look at Reedus. "Let's go!"
"Okay!" Reedus then snapped the reign as the crowd started to form behind them and watched them leave.
"Did you went back to the guild to get Reedus?" Gray asked Lucy, glancing at them while making sure Kira didn't move too much from her spot. When he noticed that Kira was looking at them with glazed eyes, Gray gave her a reassuring smile.
"Nope! I saw him in the Marketplace! According to Mira, it was usually this time that he went around the market to buy something, so I tried my luck!" Lucy told him, the ice mage glance at her, took in her smile and sweaty body, before looking away and gave a single nod.
"Kuro-nii-chan…" Gray glance up and looked Kira, who was starting to breathe heavily making him and the teens beside her worry.
"What happen back there?" Reedus asked, they all froze but didn't bother to answer the question. Gray knew that he and Lucy couldn't answer the question for they don't know what had happened back there. They just planned to talk with the girl with their teenage mages but they didn't know that the teens' trust towards them was nearly non-existent. However… Gray glance at Asuka and Romeo, who were whispering reassuringly towards the mumbling girl.
'Their trust toward us has fully dissipated… maybe we shouldn't have tried to confront her when it was merely a day that passed after the First Master gave us that order.' He closed his eyes regretfully, missing Lucy's whispered 'Master will announce it… if he wants to.' To Reedus, who merely frowned. Gray's eyes opened and went back to Kira and move her hair behind her ear, his actions had caught Romeo and Asuka attention and were immediately glared by them, while the person he touched was looking at him before receiving a soft smile. The Ice Mage inhaled softly and grabs her left hand tightly.
"We're near the hospital. So please bear with the pain for a little while." He mumbled, Kira merely hummed in agreement. It didn't take them long to arrive at the hospital where the nurses and doctors had gathered. Seeing them outside the building. Gray couldn't help but sigh in relief, glad that the people who heard Lucy screaming decided to help. It wasn't long before the carriage stopped in front of the gates of the hospital and the doctors immediately went behind the carriage with a gurney as Gray lifted her up and gently transferred her to the male nurses that were waiting beside the gurney. He watched with sad eyes as the nurses remove her from his arms, her hair slipping from his hand, and was laid down on the stretcher before being rolled away. He and his companions jump down from the carriage and watched as she was strolled through the door.
"Should we go?" Lucy asked. Gray merely sighed as Romeo and Asuka walk away from his side and into the hospital. He and Lucy followed after while Reedus went back to the guild.
(An hour later)
Gray and his group were sitting down at the chairs in the waiting room. He had his eyes closes with his arms crossed over his chest, seemingly sleeping, while the others were slump over their chosen chairs, depressed, especially Lucy, who had her head down with her hands tangled in her hair. The teens were leaning with each other's shoulder whispering quietly. An hour had passed since they arrive in the hospital and Kira was taken into the emergency room, her family still hasn't come yet but they knew that they'll probably arrive soon. However… they also knew that their guild masters will also arrive soon, Reedus had probably told them that they're in the hospital and the reason they're late is due to their Gramps health.
"What will happen to Erza?" Lucy mumbled. Gray opens his eyes and looked at her, not knowing what to say. "She just hurt a civilian."
"I hope she'll be punished heavily," Romeo mumbled, Lucy wince and looked at them, frowning upon seeing a dark look on his face.
"It was an accident." She said. This made the young teenagers to glare at her and Gray to sighed.
"Accident or not, Erza used Magic outside a battle and training. This wouldn't go well for her." And then suddenly, something flashed in his mind. "This is just like that time with Natsu and the others all over again."
Hearing that, Lucy blanched before deciding to remain quiet as she heard the teens snarling. It wasn't long before they heard the fast-paced footsteps heading towards them. Gray and Lucy looked up and saw Makarov and Gildarts heading in their direction, with Mavis floating above them, faces grim. And a few more steps behind them was Erza, who couldn't even look at them as she focused on the floor.
"Master," Gray called, standing up as Lucy did the same while Romeo and Asuka merely glance at them. "Ummm…
"Don't bother Gray," Gildarts cut off as he stood in front of them. "Reedus told us that you're here in the hospital and Erza told us the whole incident."
How is she?" Makarov asked, stopping in front of them, while Gildarts went to comfort the young teenagers.
"The doctors haven't come out of the Emergency Room yet. So we have no updates." Lucy told them, Makarov sigh in regret while Mavis is seen giving Erza a disappointing look. A short while later, they heard a commotion in the reception area which made them look behind them. They a tall dark-haired male and a dark-haired teenage girl, the former was leaning at the reception desk talking to the nurse, while the latter was trying to calm him down.
"Those are…" Gray trailed off as Makarov step forward.
"The Akabanes'." He finished and headed towards the worried cousins his mage had hurt.
"Kuro-nii…" Yuki whispered, tugging the clothes of her older brother, who paused in talking with the nurse and looked at her. Seeing her looking at the side, he followed his gaze and saw the master they were talking with the other day.
"Master Makarov…" Kuro stated, standing up straight as the said master stopped in front of him. Yuki took a step closer toward her brother, making him wrapped an arm around her shoulder as the Fairy Tail Master bowed at them, deeply.
"I'm sorry," Makarov stated, not even lifting his head to look at them.
"What?" Kuro asked, tightening his grip on his younger sister's shoulder. "What are you saying sorry for? We're merely searching for our cousin and was told that a person who fits her description is in this hospital. We're just checking if it's her, so what's the reason for saying sorry?"
Makarov frowned deeply and looked at the young man in front of him in the eyes.
"Your cousin is here in this hospital…"
"How can—"
"Because it was my mage who sent her here." Makarov cut Yuki off when she was about to ask how he knew.
"By sent… do you mean that they delivered her here…?" Kuro hesitantly asked. Makarov merely sighed.
"That… and the reason your cousin is here is that my…" at this, the Second Grand Master of Fairy Tail paused and glance at Erza, who merely closed her eyes in regret, this made him sigh and bravely look at the siblings. "My Mage hurt her."
It was silence, those people who were eavesdropping froze, not believing that a fairy mage hurt a civilian. While the Fairy Tail mages merely looked at the pair of siblings in front of them.
"Who…?" The black-haired male whispered, as his hair covered his eyes, the same with his sister, who bit her bottom lip and tighten the grip she had on his clothes.
"I did," Erza admitted after a moment of silence. She watched as the siblings looked at her and brace herself for what they're about to say, however, she was unprepared for what they will do.
SLAP!
Wendy breathed heavily, her hand that she used to slap Erza was raised in the air. Everyone stopped and look at young teens, who just bravely slap the Titania. The red-haired mage, whose head was forcefully turned to the side, slowly righted her head to look at the young girl in front of her, only to receive a backhand slap.
SLAP!
*panting*
"Yuki…"
SLAP! SLAP! SLAP!
"Stop it Yuki!" Zeref shouted as he went to grab his agonizing sister, who continued slapping Erza, hugging her while bearing the pain of her struggling against him.
"LET ME GO! LET ME GO! PLEASE NII-CHAN! LET ME GO!" Wendy cried. Zeref merely ignored her cries as he suddenly handed his sister to a shocked Gildarts, and then immediately punched the mage that his sister slap in the stomach.
BAM!
The dark mage saw how she gritted her teeth before moving away, he inhaled deeply and grabs Wendy's hand, who was shell-shock at what her older brother did. Zeref glance at the Masters of the guild, glaring at them once their eyes met.
"I told you. I'm willing to do anything for my family. Punching a mage is one of those." He stated before walking away from them and head towards the doctor, who unknown to the fairy mages, came out of the Emergency Room during the commotion. Makarov merely closes his eyes and looked at Erza, who was breathing heavily.
"Erza." He called, making her look at him. "You will stay in isolation in your dorm for 2 weeks and banned from entering the guild for 2 weeks after your isolation is over."
A gasp could be heard all over the place, even Mavis was shocked by the punishment the Titania was receiving, but she understood what needs to be done and thus she can't do anything. Even Gildarts approve of it. Erza was lucky she wasn't removed from the guild.
"But Master!" Erza started to protest, a vein pop out from Makarov's forehead.
"NO BUTS!" He roared. "Foolish child! You never should have allowed your emotion to take control! Now an innocent civilian, who just went through horrible things, is in this place and away from the comforts of her home! Stay in your dorm and reflect on what you have done!"
Lucy and Gray looked at Erza, who merely nodded and went out of the hospital, tears forming in her eyes. The two mages looked at their master, who was also looking at them.
"The two of you were there. You could have used your magic to protect the woman, Romeo, and Asuka. Why didn't you do so?" Gildarts asked as he went towards them, Romeo and Asuka in tow. As much as the teens want to know her condition, they're not family. So, there's no reason for them to stay near the conversation between the doctor and the siblings.
"We… don't know…" Lucy admitted. Mavis hummed as she looked at the mages.
"Then… you are banned from the guild for a week." She declared, gaining her mages' attention. "While you haven't attacked the pink-haired Akabane, you also didn't protect her from the attack when you could have. Reflect what you just did and try to improve yourself."
"Yes, First Master." Gray and Lucy bowed, while teens looked away.
"Romeo and Asuka," Mavis called, making them look at her. "Seeing that you were the original target of the attack, you are not allowed to take any mission for a week. You are to talk with your parents during that week and then to me so that we can monitor your condition."
"But we weren't hurt," Asuka said.
"That's right, you aren't. But you saw someone getting hurt in your stead." The blond-haired master told them, floating down towards their level. "This is just to ensure you two didn't have any trauma from this."
"…Okay…." The teens agreed. This made the master smiled at them. Before their attention went towards the siblings, who was still talking to the doctor. They saw Kuro nodded before they were led away from one of the nurses and further into the hospital, while the doctor went towards them.
"How is she, Doctor?" Gray asked as the said doctor stopped in front of them.
"She's fine. You manage to bring her here just in time, however, any longer and she would have died due to blood loss." The doctor told them, this made the masters close their eyes regretfully, while Gray and Lucy watch the teens, who were biting their lips. "She also had broken ribs and a cracked arm, her right leg also got cracked."
"What about her back?" Lucy asked. "We heard a loud thump when she hit the tree. Were there any damages on her spine?"
"Fortunately, her spine is fine." This made them sigh in relief. "Though she has a huge bruise on her back, she'll probably need to lay down on a soft area until that bruise heal. But the magic mostly focuses on the front, and the sound that you probably heard is the magic hitting the tree."
"Is that all she has?" Romeo asked the doctor sighed dejectedly.
"Unfortunately, No. But that pieces of information are the only one I'm willing to share. It's up for the family members to tell you what else she has sustained."
"Thank you, Doctor." Makarov bowed after his mind process the injury Kira received. The doctor nodded before walking away while they went to sit down at the chairs. It was quite before Gildarts asked.
"Are we going to check on her?"
"I don't think we have the right to do so," Makarov said as he looked at the hallway the siblings went through. "It was one of ours who send the girl here. They probably don't want us near her."
Mavis watched as her mages and fellow masters frowned worriedly and sometimes glancing at the hallway. Seeing their actions, she can't help but wonder if this was her fault? While she overheard Makarov telling Gildarts that they are suspicious and know learn the reason why they are here, he didn't go as far as telling the others to monitor them, not like she did. She should probably retract her order of spying and monitoring them.
(Inside's Kira's room)
Zeref bit his lip upon seeing his beloved sibling sleeping on the hospital bed, nearly covered with bandages. Wendy immediately runs towards the side of the bed and sat down at the chair provided. The Emperor, slowly walk towards the bed, trying to calm his racing heart. When they planned for her to meet Romeo and Asuka, they never expect this. This wasn't part of the plan… his beloved sister getting sent to the hospital wasn't part of the plan! Upon arriving on the side of the bed, Zeref immediately grabs her free hand rather tightly.
The fear that was in his heart that appeared when Aoi came back home with the news of his sister getting hurt, slowly dissipated but not fully gone, and he knew that Wendy was the same, if not worst, seeing that she was closer to Nastu during those years. While Natsu sees him as a role model, Wendy sees Natsu as the perfect role model, not him. And with the pink-haired mage having the same gender as the originally blue-haired mage, then they're a lot closer than Wendy is to Zeref.
"Nastu…" Zeref whispered, looking at the sleeping face of the Fire Dragon Slayer with an oxygen mask covering the mouth. "They'll pay for this…"
"Will we attack now?" Wendy mumbled, Zeref shakes his head.
"No. We can't attack with Natsu like this. We'll wait for her to wake up and then… we'll destroy the fairy heart as revenge for what they've done to your sister."
"War follows right after." Wendy finished. Zeref nods at her, making her inhale deeply and looks at Natsu's face.
"Natsu-nee," She called out, caressing her older sister's face. "They'll pay for this… and for the pain that they cause us all those years ago. They will regret this Onee-sama…This pain they are giving you… they will pay for this, so wake up please." She sobbed and leaned on Natsu's side, crying.
"They'll pay for this, Wendy… We will show no mercy." Zeref swore as he listens to his younger sister crying, as he looked at the face of his beloved sister. He then leaned down, kissed Natsu's forehead, before sitting down at the chair. Then… the siblings waited, while the Doctor's words replayed in their mind.
"Your cousin lost a lot of blood, but fortunately the Fairy Tail Mages managed to deliver her here on time. Other than blood loss, she had two broken ribs, cracked left arm, and right leg. Her back also had a huge bruise, a sign that she flew straight into something hard."
"We manage to put her in a room where our softest bed is stationed, to avoid any back pains. We also notice that she was slightly malnourished, pale, and seem stress. Considering that you're new here, there's probably a good reason why she's in that state. But… the back of her skull had a fracture and it slowly causes the brain to swell."
"I'm sorry, but because of the condition of her body and the injury she received, your cousin's in a coma."
