Summary: Natsu was kidnapped by a dark guild a few days after Erza was declared to be the 7th guild master of Fairy Tail. Three weeks after Natsu got kidnapped, Zeref, who heard what happen to Natsu, pass by a castle where he heard Natsu screams. The dark mage saved him, but the fairy tail mages arrive when he healed Nastu and both of them revealed something that the other mages never accepted for a few years.

The Fairy Tail mages are standing in line, frowning, while their enemies were smirking at them, except the princes and princesses who are smiling, the smiles, however, are cold and give them shivers. However, it was only Gray who had his eyes widen slowly upon making eye contact with the Heiress, who was smiling gently at him. Thunderflashes in the background, followed by a white flash.)

(Bloody 24: The true plan is… what? Gray's plan, Natsu is back!)
Kuro was sleeping lightly on the chair rather uncomfortably with Yuki sleeping on the bed beside Kira when he heard voices speaking through the door. This is weird because the nurses and doctors never made such noises in front of the door, both during and after visiting hours. So, hearing some people speaking made him tense and slightly more aware of his surroundings. He slowly opens his eyes but keeping them at half-mast as he eyed the door.
After a few minutes of tense silence, the voices came back again but it was slowly moving away from the door, which made him frowned heavily and halt his fake sleep in favor of getting up and head towards the door to find out who was 'spying' on him and his siblings.
'I swear… if it's the faries then I will not hesitate on killing them… strongest guild be damn.' He thought as he calms his raging heart and slowly opened the door, acting like he just woke up and was on his way out to get something to eat. Doing a fake yawn and shaking his head, Zeref close the door behind him and then turned to the direction where he had felt the presence that was standing in front of his door earlier and blink when he saw it was the Mayor and his sister's doctor, talking to one another.
He frowned before removing it from his face and slowly walk towards them, as he grew closer, the mayor and doctor stopped their conversation and turned to look at him. Their eyes widen before they both walk towards him, which made him snarl inwardly but he kept his confused face as they arrived closer to him.
"Is there something wrong?" he asked. The mayor's eyes settled on him with pity and regret which made him bristled more.
"I heard what happen with your Cousin…" The Mayor said, which made him tense and glare at the Doctor, who grimaced. "I talk with the Guild Master… they have… punish Erza… but… with what your cousin's doctor told me… the punishment they gave her may not be enough for you."
Kuro clenched his fist rather tightly and inhaled deeply before exhaling and said.
"It doesn't matter whether how much they punish the mage who did this. What done is done… what they did to my cousin can no longer be taken back nor can it be erased from body or mind no matter what the punishment is…" But despite spouting that, Zeref knew… oh how he knew, on how to make the fairies regret hurting his family again. And he's pretty sure the guardians under Natsu's care would agree. They already lost their previous Guardian because of the bandits, humans, he's pretty sure they are not willing to lose another one to mages, which are also humans.
'They need to pay with blood.' He thought darkly, while the mayor sighed heavily and in regret.
"We'll be leaving as well," Kuro added, making the Mayor look at them. "We move here to be protected, not to be attacked by your protectors."
"I…"
"We'll be leaving once my cousin has enough energy to do so…" With that Zeref turned and moved towards the elevator, his act of getting something to eat came true as he realized that Wendy might be starving when she wakes up. He'll just be getting something that is lighter and healthy to the stomach.
"Akabane-san!" The Mayor shouted as the Doctor merely smiled in understanding, though it bothers Zeref that he was quiet the whole time, he guesses that he had nothing to say. The Black Mage ignored the mayor and shut the Elevator's door, his mindset. And he will make sure that they will leave this forsaken place as soon as Natsu heals, plans be damned, fairy heart be damned.
The Next Day
Despite the treatment Gray received from the oldest Akabane, he, rather bravely and stupidly, went back to the hospital where Kira is, with flowers and fruit of basket in his hand. Hopefully, this time he won't get a punch in the face. He was in front of the door, breathing heavily, and then entered, sighing in relief when his prayers were heard. Other than the comatose patient, no one else is in the room (not even Aoi but it's not like Gray knew about him), which gave him so much relief that he didn't hesitate to take a step forward inside the room and just went to the lamp table beside the bed.
Gray put the baskets on the table, after that, he put the flowers on a vase half-filled with water, and then put the vase beside the basket. He sighed and nervously glanced at the door before sitting at one of the vacant chairs beside Kira's bed and slouched, putting a hand over his eyes.
"Shit…" he mumbled, before shaking his head and looked at the person that was hospitalized by his friend. "What happened that we change? That Erza and I changed?"
'We didn't hurt people before… we didn't hurt people that didn't do anything against our guild or that threaten our friend… so what happened that we changed and hurt an innocent person?' Gray gritted his teeth and then turned his hand into a fist as his mind suddenly went back three years ago. The ice mage shakes his head and focused his eyes on the face of the person he's visiting when he suddenly froze. He immediately stood up from his chair and leaned over the body, his trembling hand hovering above Kira's face… a face which that bears a lot of similarity with someone important to him.
Gray slowly started to pant heavily because he couldn't just believe his eyes… he's seeing the face of his best friend… of his Natsu… which is entirely impossible because the person laying on the bed is a woman, someone that is born differently from Natsu. But he can't deny the resemblance… especially not with the way the pink hair is framing the face. Just as Gray was about to touch the slightly tan skin, he heard some noises outside the room, which made his head snapped in the direction of the door and back away from the bed. He waited for a few tense seconds before relaxing when the noises passed by the door, he then glanced at the bed again, and blink in confusion. He was no longer seeing Natsu, instead, he just saw the face of the person Erza hurt and who just happens to have pink hair. Not his best friend. Not his Natsu. He let out a small humorless chuckle and shakes his head.
"I'm losing my mind." He mumbled and glance back at Kira, smiling self-discriminately when she no longer looked like Natsu. "I overlapped an image of my best friend to someone that got hurt because of us…" He then turned away in guilt, his mind coming up with a conclusion that the reason Kira looked like Natsu for just a moment there was because of his guilt for letting Natsu, and the others, go. He should have known better than think that his important person would come back to them because he knew, that no matter what, Natsu won't be coming back to them. Ever.
He slowly straightens up and gingerly touched the hand that was above the bedcover before glancing at Kira's face once more, before moving away and quietly left the room. However, if Gray had left seconds later, he would have seen the finger of the hand twitched, a pair of eyelids slowly opening, revealing slightly dazed olive eyes that had a glance at the door, before the eyelids closed again and everything went back to normal as if Natsu hadn't slightly woke up from her coma.
A few hours later
Zeref frowned, displease, upon sensing a slightly familiar, yet foreign, magic inside Natsu's room. It was barely there, meaning that whoever was inside had left hours ago, but they did come inside the room, which worries, displeases, and angers him as he didn't why or what they did to his brother's current form. No one is allowed inside the room where his beloved sibling is currently, except for him and the rest of his siblings… maybe the doctors and nurses as well, but other than that, no one is allowed inside.
"Calm down, Brat," Aoi muttered from his perch, which made the black mage's red eyes to turned towards him, hissing. "You can't put a spell that will allow you to block anyone that isn't us or the medical of this hospital from entering the room, that would raise suspicion."
"Why did we bother coming here anyway?!" Zeref snarled. "We could just march to fairy tail and declare war!" This made Aoi narrow his eyes and swooped down from the top of the closet he was perching on and towards the Emperor, before slapping him in the face, shocking the dark mage, and snapping him from his anger.
"Because… your sister… is the Guardian of all Guardians." Aoi started. "And with that position of hers, she is not allowed to go to start a war for no reason."
"But…"
"You have conditions, a truce made three years ago, with the fairy tail, because you plan to have a war with them for the Fairy Heart, and this is before you found out about your parents. It would have been fine if you didn't know, but your sister is a person of her word, you can't take that away from her."
"We did plan that! I agreed to that plan!" Zeref shouted, and for once Aoi is glad that the dark mage made sure to put a soundproof spell around them so that no one outside the room could hear them. "But I didn't want this to happen! I just want Natsu and the others to be safe as we proceed with the plan!"
"…"
"The reason for me agreeing with the plan was for the sake of avenging my siblings for what the fairies did to them. But I didn't want this to happen." Zeref gritted his teeth.
"Is it?" Aoi asked, making the Older Dragneel to snapped his head towards him. "This plan of ours… of yours… are we doing it for your siblings?"
"Of cours—!"
"I don't think so! We planned to use the Fairy Heart to annihilate Acnologia and restore the destroyed area here in Ishgar, that's what your sister wished for! While the Spriggans only agree for the former, that is still the plan!" The Genius mage backed away, as the flames that surround Aoi grew brighter and bigger. "But we aren't doing that… we are not getting the Fairy Heart for what your sister wanted, but we are getting the fairy heart for what you want, to complete the Time Magic, Neo Eclipse! Something that Natsu is agreeing with because she knew! Oh, she knew that it would bring you happiness!"
"What on earth are you talking about?!"
"We knew, Zeref-onii-sama…" Wendy's soft voice suddenly joined their conversation, which made Zeref looked at the door and blink at the sight of Wendy standing there silently.
"Wendy… how long have you been there?" He asked.
"Just a few moments ago." She answered as she walks in the direction of the bed, and immediately sat down and grabs her sister's hand. "But we knew… we knew that you still in pain despite with us being with you… we knew that you want to be normal, not a mage, not an emperor, but a normal person who just wants to raise a younger sibling peacefully without any problem."
"You knew…"
"Hmmm…" Wendy nodded. "Natsu-nee-sama told us about it, said that despite you being happy, you're still in pain, especially when you see Onee-sama on her dark days. She said during those times you blame yourself for what happened to her, you wished to yourself that if only you didn't become a dark mage, if only you took care of her when you were both young, then maybe this wouldn't have happened."
"Wendy…"
"It pains me and the rest of my younger siblings greatly, but we also understand it. That's why we are continuing with the plan, because after the death of Acnologia, Onee-sama will let you go." Tears slowly dripped down from the young Wind Dragon Slayer's eyes, as she turned and gave a shaky smiled towards Zeref, who felt his heart being broken into tiny pieces. "We are willing to let you go and let you continue with your plan to use the Neo Eclipse… even if it means with us being left behind and forgotten by you."
Aoi glanced at his mistress older sibling, who slowly walk towards the youngest sibling in the room and hugged her rather tightly. Wendy's sob could be heard, while Zeref's words of encouragement and assurance were merely a whisper. The Phoenix then flew towards the headboard of the bed and landed on it, watching his mistress siblings, before glancing down and Natsu and gently jump down and wiped the tears that's escaping from her eyes.
'You can still hear and feel the pain even in a coma, huh, Natsu?' He thought, before looking back at the currently raven-haired siblings. 'I do hope you brother will change your mind after this revelation… because the world would change for the worst if he did continue to use the Neo Eclipse.'
Later that day, at the Akabane Household, Zeref's room
Zeref was currently sitting at his window sill, looking at the moon that was shining brightly above him. They had plans to stay with Natsu for the remainder of the night, more so when he found out through Wendy that the magic he sense came from a certain ice mage, so that there would be no more unwanted visitors. However, it seems that the nurses and doctors finally got some guts to deny them the right to stay with Natsu, especially when they have been doing for the past 3 days. This also means, with only a few more days, and if the doctor is right, then Natsu would wake up soon.
And that is something he liked, what he still didn't like is the fact that someone came into Natsu's room while they were away, and he was glad he Aoi stayed behind, under an illusionary spell, where he is invisible to the eyes of the people that weren't family, the Phoenix can report to him what was happening to in his sibling's room every time someone enters. A few more days and they would say goodbye to this place and burn it to the ground.
'Oh…' Zeref blinked it shocked, finally registering that his beloved brother, sister, has been in a coma for three days with only a few signs of waking up or awareness, the tears that slipped from her eyes earlier is one of them. Normally, he would immediately register his surroundings, but with the confession and the shocking revelation earlier, he's been paying attention to nearly everything by half. Staring blankly at the moon, Zeref couldn't help but wonder whether or not to continue with the Neo Eclipse. He had his only blood relative back, and additional family as well, but at what cost? What was needed to be paid just so that he can get everything he has now? Who paid for it?
His siblings paid for it, he didn't pay anything to receive his happiness. Natsu's payment is his mentality, dignity, the scars etched on his body, and the pain he still bears. His younger siblings paid the latter one as well. Everything is so obvious on who had paid for the very things Zeref had, now that he thinks about it. But because of the conversation they have, he began to wonder, were the things his siblings sacrificed was so worthless that he wants to re-live his life again at the start? Or were they so worth it because it brought him a lot of happiness?
Zeref knew that everything was worth it, but he didn't like the fact that his siblings paid a lot and is still suffering because of it. His decision to use the Neo Eclipse is now split in half. Closing his eyes, Zeref hoped his Natsu would wake up soon, he could use the wisdom the flame dragon slayer had.
"Kami… Please help me decide Natsu… please…"
A few days later, at Magnolia Hospital, Kira's room
Gray silently opens the door for Kira's room, did a quick look before slowly entering inside, and closes the door with a relieved sigh. For the past four days, he's been sneaking in and out of the room of the pink-haired girl, successfully avoiding the siblings (as well as failure to find the bird on duty, well, it's not like he can find Aoi even if he knew he was there) and leaving get-well flowers. He can't really leave any food, Kuro might hunt him down for even daring to visit their cousin when they aren't present. While Gray likes to think that he is not a coward, he can't help but fear Kuro, who had a murderous aura that he can't bear to be in the same room during that time he first visited Kira in the hospital.
With that in mind, the Ice Mage thought that maybe, just maybe, that aura won't be present anymore once Kira woke up…. He'll take his chances. Gray had also received a warning from Makarov too, to avoid the Akabane's for now, even if he just wants to receive updates of the girl that was in a coma because of Erza. And while Gray at first wanted to receive updates, the previous visits were, more or less, an assurance to himself that the person in the bed wasn't his Natsu, and that it was a girl, a stranger, and that person is still alive or had signs of waking up soon.
The ice mage had no idea why he thought that Kira is Natsu, they don't really look the same, but for some reason, every time he visits the girl and looks at her far longer than he needs to, Natsu's image would overlap hers even for a few seconds and it's enough to give him paranoia. Gray scoffed silently and did his short routine in Kira's room, before settling down and looked at the girl. Gray is no creep just to let you know, sometimes he read a book to the young girl, but he forgot to bring a book with him today because his mind went to a different topic other than his current paranoia.
And that topic is Asuka and Romeo, who always visit Kira in the hospital. Gray really admires their bravery for visiting the pinkette even with her cousins… well, especially with her older cousin present. Everyone in the guild had no idea why they always visit her, aside from the fact that maybe they felt guilty. The whole guild knew what happen, and what was the aftermath, so they always thought that the reason their cold teens visit Kira was because of guilt, something that isn't farfetched.
Gray didn't think so though, there might be another reason why the teens keep on visiting the Akabane, too bad he can't find out why, the teens kept on avoiding anyone that isn't the Akabane, their guild master or parents, and no one had the same bravely as Asuka and Romeo had to face the older cousin of the comatose teen. So they are pretty much left in the dark.
The Ice Mage couldn't help but sign rather heavily and reached out to grasp Kira's limp hand, something that he had been doing as well during the previous days. For some unknown reason, when Gray had touched Kira's hand whenever he was stress in a particular situation and he'll calm down and/or relax immediately. This made him pursed his lips because while the approach is different, Gray would also relax right after his friendly sparing with Natsu, something the Fire Dragon Slayer knew and let him indulge it in.
But towards Natsu, Gray knew the reason, he knew the reason which is why he still feels guilty and regrets his action towards Natsu all those years ago. He regrets letting Natsu go, letting his anger towards Zeref destroy the opportunity to have Natsu as his. Gray Fullbuster, an Ice Demon Slayer, knew the reason why he likes sparing Natsu and is calm/relax whenever he touched him or after their friendly spar…
It's because he loves him, he loves Natsu with all his heart but he let his anger consume that love which made his love interest disappear from his life. Gray knew it was stupid, heck, probably disgusting, but Natsu made his heart beat faster, made him feel like he is more than an Ice Mage of Fairy Tail, made him feel like he is more than just a handsome, with a tendency to get naked, male. Natsu made him feel like he can be himself around, heck, the Dragon Slayer saved him multiple times, more than he can count, more so than their female friends or anyone in the group.
Which is really not helping his helping. In truth he was about to confess to his Flame Brain, he just needs to ask permission from Natsu's Father Figure, other than Igneel, and that Gildarts. If the 6th Master is against it or disguised by it, he will still accept it because at least he will know what Natsu's feeling is. It's fine if it's a negative one or a positive, he can bear watching Natsu from afar, he just needs to tell him his feelings…. Something that didn't happen because of their stupidity three years ago. This made him wonder though… if he went with Natsu then, went with the others instead of letting his emotion control him. Would Zeref allow him to be with Natsu? Would he have a relationship with Natsu? Should he… go to him and… try to win his heart?
"Shit…" Gray cursed. "Am I really questioning myself that?" He asked himself and leaned his forehead on the soft, feminine he's holding, unaware of a flaming blue bird narrowed eyes, glaring at him. When Gray's skin meet Kira's he immediately relaxed, it took a few minutes before something snapped into place. Slowly letting go of the hand, Gray stood up and looked at Kira one more time before slowly turning and left the room, his hand clenching into a tight fist.
'This would be the last time I'm visiting you.' Gray swore to himself as he went out of the hospital. 'I… I can't have you replacing Natsu in my heart.'
Because when Gray had reminisced about the past, he finally found out the reason why he can calm himself just by making skin contact with Kira, it's almost the same reason as Natsu. Almost, because while Gray loves Natsu with all his heart, he is also, slowly, blooming a feeling towards Kira. Gray had a crush on Kira… Kira, who reminds him a lot of Natsu. Kira, who was in a coma because of Erza. Kira, who is someone Gray isn't willing to surrender his heart to. As he walks towards his home, Gray wonders why he had a crush on a stranger he had few interactions with, but the only reason he could think of is that she looks like Natsu, she reminds him of Natsu. And Gray doesn't want it, he wants to love someone because of who they are, not because of what he sees.
Only Natsu can have his heart, and no one else, not Juvia, and not Kira. Only Natsu…. And he is willing to search the whole Earth Land just to find him, asked for forgiveness, and give his heart to him, as well as his life (because let's face it, there is a high volume of chance that Zeref will kill him on spot)w. He can't and won't allow someone to replace Natsu. And if it means leaving Fiore or Fairy Tail forever? Then so be it.
"Wait for me Natsu. I'm coming." Gray muttered, not knowing that the person he loves, the one he's searching for is the one he was touching earlier, the one that is waking up, the one that will be leading a war to Fiore. The one that is hiding right under his nose, the one that will… be… _.
Back at the Hospital
Aoi watched as the Ice Demon Slayer left the room in a rush with a hint of determination in his eyes, before going back to look at his mistress, and tilt his head to the side. He glided down from his perch and slowly peck the hand laid on the bed and laid his body next to Natsu's and turned his head towards the door.
"I think… that something is going on in that Ice Mage." He started slowly, glancing at his mistress then at the door, where he can slowly feel the other Akabane's walking towards the room. "And it involves you, Natsu… You really need to wake up soon, because whatever is happening in the future, you're in the middle of all of it."
"Aoi! Kira-nee! We're back!" Wendy greeted as she walks through the door, the Phoenix croon as he used his illusionary magic, something Zeref magic can't conquer, to cover the scent and aura of the ice mage that was in the room, something he's been doing for the past few days. While he did say he would report what was happening in his Mistress room every time someone is in, he didn't say that he would report immediately or that he would report in detail. So he's safe… having clever mistresses in the past and present really had its perks. Loopholes are easy to be found.
"Did something happen?" Zeref immediately asked, touching Aoi's crown and then Natsu's hand, smiling.
"Not really." The Phoenix answered, pecking at the grapes that Wendy hangs over his head.
"Hmmm…" Zeref nodded, happy and glad, before sitting down and sighs.
"I can't wait to leave."
"Yeah…"
"How are the others doing?"
"Hmmm…"
"Is there a way for us to contact them?"
"Uh-huh…"
"Let's go and plan—"
"Zeref-nii…" A very much welcome, yet croaky voice cut in, stopping Zeref from speaking or asking the same questions he's been asking due to anxiety, excitement, and stress. Everyone in the room froze before their head slowly turned towards the speaker, eyes lighting in delight upon seeing dazed olive eyes looking at them with a small smile. "You're so noisy…. You need to stop asking the same question…"
"….N…Nat…"
"Your so stress." The eyes then turned towards Wendy. "You too… that's not good for a growing girl."
"Natsu/nee-sama!" Wendy and Zeref shouted as they leaned over the newly awaken Natsu, who was chuckling at their reaction.
"Natsu!" Zeref said in relief before hugging his beloved sister, followed by Wendy, while Aoi curled around his mistress's head. "Your awake!"
"Nee-sama!" Wendy cried as the Heir of Alvarez glanced at her happily. "I'm so glad… nee-sama… nee-sama!"
Natsu chuckled and let them hug the life out of her, she quickly glances around the room, frowning in confusion before it was gone when she felt the bodies of her siblings trembling in relief, and sobs slowly filled up the room. As Natsu tried to calm them down and let them hug her, she could have sworn, that for a second, for one quick second, she got a whiff of Gray's scent…. It's probably her own imagination.

RabbitHaremLover24 : Thank you so much for that opinion of yours :D I am really having a conflict on whether to keep Natsu as a female or not... I'll probably create an Alternate Ending if I still feel conflicted about it, but still thank you! :D Now, moving forward with Romeo and Asuka... well, let's see if they are really on board, their parents are still in fairy tail and that will be a huge conflict, should they search for Nastu (even though they were right there) or stay with their blood relatives. I never really want Erza to be painted as a bad guy here, I just didn't like how she treated Natsu, especially whenever he's having his motion sickness... guess that dislike appeared here hahaha. But yes, Erza will be punished for her misdeed, I just don't know it will be played, but I know who will do it. So I hope you like this chapter as well, there isn't really much dialogue, maybe next chapter there will be hahaha. Thank you for your vote and the review :D. You too, stay safe ;)

I do hope you will enjoy the other chapters because more are coming though they are a bit slow, I do apologize for that. The reactions for FT, especially Gray, is something I know everyone wants to read as soon as possible, but I also have no idea what their reactions would be even though I am the author hahaha. I really hope it will reach your expectation ^_^. I'm glad your liking the relationship I made with the Dragneel siblings, it really hard to make one since we honestly knew nothing about their past, especially their parents. KaruNagi is a perfect parent for siblings that are genius and naughty in their own way, hahaha. I do apologize for the unexpected, yet short, cross-over. I still have a conflict on Natsu's gender, because at the very start I planned to turn him back to his original gender, but I got attached with Etherias hahaha, I'll probably just to an alternate ending for this hahaha.
