Chapter 1

In the throne room of the great underground tomb of nazarick , the death incarnate sat on his magnificent onyx coloured throne. The throne itself was a world item[ THRONE OF KINGS ] , befitting for the death incarnate sitting on it. The throne gives powerful buffs to the stats of those who sit on it. The said death incarnate was none other than Ainz Ooal Gown. He was wearing a jet-black academic gown adorned with golden and violet edges. He had a dark red orb floating under his ribs that emanates the feeling of dread. In his empty eye sockets, two bright red flames flickered promising pain and suffering to his enemies.

Before him, all the floor guardians, except victim and gargantula, knelt in front of their lord showing their utmost respect and devotion. As their master's sight lingered on them momentarily, they thought as if their souls were being judged for their competency to serve him. But the thoughts in the non-extinct brain of the overlord were far from their expectations.

Uwah! They want me to say something, but what should I say? It is very creepy when they look at me with those eyes. They think I am some kind of God. I think I spaced too far, I should say something quickly.

" Well done my faithful guardians, I am very pleased with your work. All of you have done an exceptional job. "Ainz said.

"We are not worthy of your praise Ainz- sama" They all said in unison.

You are wrong, I mean literally I haven't done anything. I didn't even know about my plan for world domination which you have executed so well. I feel terrible for taking credit for their work, but I know they will not accept the fact that all of this was only possible because of their hard work . Oh! I think I spaced out again for quite a long time.

"Well then, I have summoned all of you here to hear your individual reports about recent events. Albedo you go first. " Ainz said

Albedo's wings momentarily fluttered as her beloved master called for her to be the first one to give him her report. She thought this as a small victory over shalltear in their competition for the love of their Lord. She had no doubt that she would win this competition, not a certain lamprey with fake boobs. She wanted all of him for herself. With these pleasant thoughts in her mind, she gave a rare genuine smile to her beloved master and began her report.

"With our recent conquests of Slane Theocracy and Argland Council State, we have successfully brought western part of this continent under your banner. We have established temporary governance in these countries until we reach a perfect way of administration which would suit these countries. There is a lot of opposition from the people of Slane Theocracy for using undead in administrative work,but I think they will get used to it with time. I have no doubt that these lower life forms will soon know the joy to serve you"

"Good work, albedo. As expected of the prime minister of the sorcerer's kingdom. Now then, shalltear, your report. "Ainz said, ignoring the last part of what albedo said.

Gazing at her merciful master who had even forgiven her disastrous mistake of rebelling against The Great Underground Tomb Of Nazarick , she only wanted to work even harder to prove her loyalty to her beloved master.

"My Lord, the transportation network of dragons is in good order. We have enough dragons to cover the newly conquered territories. All of them are happy to serve you and will do everything to please you. I -I... "Shalltear hesitated before speaking. Ainz noticed this and encouraged her to speak freely as he did not want to become a boss who doesn't hear out to what their employees say.

" Shalltear don't hold back on anything, you are free to speak. I, Ainz Ooal Gown, give you my word that no one will harm you. So, go on, tell me what you want to say." Ainz's voice boomed in the throne room.

Everyone's eyes widened , but they composed themselves quickly. Witnessing that their Lord has given his word for unworthy servants such as them, their respect for him grew with no bounds. Not wanting to keep her Lord waiting, shalltear began to speak.

"It is just that I have a request to make"

As soon as these words left her mouth,the room suddenly became heavy as all the floor guardians directed their killing intent towards her. They thought how can she ask something from Lord Ainz even after he had shown her mercy for her mistake. All of them wanted to just kill her, but they couldn't do anything without their master's orders.

To clear the heavy atmosphere, Ainz said "Shalltear, continue"

Receiving permission to speak from her master, she said "I want to request some resources to establish command centres and checkpoints in order to make transportation and communication services more efficient. They will also help us to control and monitor communication between rebellious insects. "

"Excellent, shalltear!"Ainz exclaimed " I am very pleased to know that you are learning new things. Continue the good work. As for your request, you don't need to ask my permission for it as I have already given you full authority over the transportation network and to make decisions regarding it. As long as it benefits nazarick, you are free to make decisions on your own. So, go ahead. Now cocytus, your report. "

Crackling his mandibles, Cocytus began his report.

" . . . . . .ARMY. .THEY . . . . "

"Good work cocytus, I have no doubt that warriors trained by you will surpass my expectations. Also integration of other races would give more flexibility to our army and it would create new jobs opportunities for people."

" . . . .LORD. "

"Now then, aura and mare,it's your turn"

"Yes Lord Ainz , I have started scouting newly conquered lands with the help of my , I still haven't found any interesting creatures. Also, I have started exterminating hostile monsters in these lands, but they are quite weak, my pets can easily handle them. "Aura said with her always cheerful voice.

"I... I haven't found a..anything interesting as well, l..lord Ainz '' Mare said timidly while clutching his wooden staff tightly with his slender hands.

"Again, good work Aura and mare. Now it is your turn demiurge"

The archdevil gave a genuine smile which is reserved only for his master and denizens of nazarick. Adjusting his spectacles, the archdevil said "It is a great honour to serve under a Lord with an unfathomable intellect such as you. As you asked about my report after everybody had given theirs, I think you know what I am going to say. Everytime I try to fathom the difference in intelligence between us, you simply raise the bar of your wisdom. It seems no matter how much I try, I won't reach the level of intellect as your's"

All the guardians gasped as they understood how wise their master is. Internally they all swore to work more hard to be able to please him.

But the overlord of death had other thoughts in his mind

Uwah! You are sooo... wrong demiurge. I allowed you to speak at last so that I can escape quickly from your questions. Always I have to come up with suitable excuses to avoid answering your questions. I don't even have a slightest clue about what you are going to say, but I must pretend that I know it.

"A... As always, you are absolutely right, demiurge. But I think other guardians should also know it , so continue with your report"

"As you wish my Lord. Firstly I have found some non-cooperative sheep in Theocracy, so I have sent them to my rehabilitation centres. I think all of them will fall in line in no time.

Ainz became very happy that demiurge , the archdevil, was kind towards these sheep as he established a rehabilitation centre for them. He was curious about these sheep who were the source materials required for low tier scrolls. But he didn't inquire further about these sheep because he knew the longer the conversation went with demiurge, the more uncomfortable it would get for him. So he didn't pry further.

"I have read the secret files of theocracy and I have found that there is a high possibility that we can find a new continent in the south-east of theocracy. But I have not found any records of trade or diplomacy between these two continents. "Demiurge said.

Ainz thought, Oh! A new continent. It is just like unlocking a new area in a game after you have reached a specific level. This will be interesting. It would be a great adventure to explore it.

"Demiurge, I authorise you to search for this new continent and scout it for potential danger when found.I think this would be a perfect occasion to form our kingdom's naval armada. We have sufficient data in our library to summon mercenary ships in order to dominate the oceans. We will discuss about it later. "

"Thank you my Lord, I will not fail you. Now, as you all know that there is a great mountain range in the middle of this continent which separates this continent in Eastern and western parts. As the mountains are nearly impossible to cross, there is no contact between the countries on both sides. But the scouts that I have sent on the eastern side have reported to me that there exists a dark elven kingdom called Elvedor adjacent to the mountain range. Also that nation is on brink of collapse due to war with the neighbouring kingdoms. "

What! A dark elven kingdom! This is a perfect opportunity for aura and mare to meet their kind and make new friends. This will help them in their development as a child. But we don't know much about that kingdom, they might be hostile towards outsiders. Well I have a perfect solution for that. Ainz thought.

"Is that so? I think this is a perfect opportunity to initiate diplomatic relations with the kingdom of Elvedor. We can also offer them our help in their war efforts. Aura and Mare you will be emissaries of the sorcerous kingdom to the kingdom of Elvedor. I will accompany you as momon on their journey as your bodyguard. Do you have any objections? ''Ainz said.

Ainz wanted them to express their thoughts because he did not want to cause inconvenience to them. But the throne room was completely silent, there were no objections. But suddenly a sinister laugh befitting the archdevil echoed throughout the throne room. Everybody knew that smile. For other floor guardians, it indicated their lack of intellect to understand their master Great Plan. On the other hand for a certain overlord, it sent chills running down his spine and his non-existent heart began beating faster. He was well aware of that smile, that smile of demiurge indicated that he understood his non-existent Plan. But before he could voice his opinion, shalltear asked

"Why are you laughing, demiurge? "

"Do you really think that this would be only a diplomatic visit? This is nothing but a small part of Ainz-sama's great plan of world domination. Truly, the intelligence of Lord Ainz knows no bounds. "

Uwah! What plan? Ainz panicked in turn, activating his emotional suppressor. There is no such plan , I just wanted to explore that kingdom and meet new people. I have already decided not to overthink and concern myself with this so-called PLAN.

"As expected of the smartest mind of the great underground tomb of nazarick, you have uncovered my plan. So I give you permission to execute this plan. I will be monitoring your actions closely"Ainz said

"As you wish my Lord" Demiurge said

"Send word to the kingdom of Elvedor of our impending diplomatic visit. Aura and Mare prepare for the journey. " Ainz ordered.

Saying this, the great overlord of death teleported to his bedroom using the ring of Ainz Ooal Gown. The adventurer inside him was very excited about exploring this unknown kingdom. But he didn't know that he would get more than what he expected.
