AN: based on a photo of Jareth ordering "another drink, on the rocks" from Ludo (or in this case another rock caller like him) at a bar
Jareth walked into the pub located in the Goblin City. It was still early so the place was quiet and fairly empty. There was a goblin at a back table, a dwarf playing the piano, and a Rock-caller at the bar drying dishes. Sighing he made his way to the bar and sat on a stool in the middle.
"What drink?" The Rock-caller asked.
Jareth sighed once more and placed his head on the cool wooden bar. "The strongest thing you have."
A moment later a glass with a dark brown liquid was placed in front of him. Lifting his head, Jareth grabbed the glass and tossed the drink back in one gulp. "Another!" The King ordered as he slammed the glass on the bar. Over and over the King emptied the glass and order another. After the 7th glass, the bartender just handed him the entire bottle.
After emptying half of the bottle, Jareth placed his head on the bar. "I just don't understand." The Rock-caller behind the bar glance at him but said nothing. "I've offered her everything I have. I've given her everything she's ever dreamed of and yet she chooses him over me."
The goblin in the back placed some coins on the table and walked out. The dwarf closed the lid on the piano and headed to the back room. This wasn't the first time that the King had come into the bar to drown his sorrows but they all knew what was going to happen.
The bartender took the empty glass away and placed two more bottles on the bar. Sadly he couldn't leave the bar or the King unattended, but he was certainly going to keep his distance.
Jareth downed the rest of the first bottle and threw it against the wall, shattering it. "It's not fair!" He opened the second bottle and took a long drink. "What does he have that I don't? I'm a bloody King!"
For the next hour, the King drank, shouted, and even cried a little. The Rock-caller was about to get him a fifth bottle when Jareth slammed his hand on the bar. "That's it!" Standing, slightly wobbly, he tossed an orb at the bartender. His aim was horrible and the orb landed three feet from the hairy giant turning into a large bag of coins. "I'll kidnap him and make him reveal his secrets!"
Jareth disappeared in a cloud of glitter and the Rock-caller groaned. "Sooo much glitter..."

Hours later
Jareth returned to the bar in a better mood and slightly less inebriated than he was when he left. Sitting at the bar he grinned. "Bartender! Get me another, on the rocks!" He started laughing loudly. "Get it? On the rocks, and you're a Rock-caller."
Glaring at the King, the Rock-caller placed two large ice cubes in a glass and poured him a drink. It wasn't the first time he had made the rock joke.
After downing the drink, Jareth sat back and stared at himself in the mirror over the bar. "It was soo easy and honestly he should be thanking me. I waited until he finished his last song and then I made him vanish from the stage. It was an exciting and magical end to his show. Certainly better than whatever he had planned. His fans will be talking about it for days."
With a flick of his wist, he summoned a crystal and balanced it on the tip of his fingers. "Fear not little rock star. I shall treat you with the respect due to someone with your talent. I believe I understand a bit now why she chose your company over mine tonight."

an hour later
Jareth sat on his throne starring at the tiny blonde trapped in the crystal. "Don't worry. I'm sure our champion will be along shortly to save you."
"JARETH!"
"Ah, there she is," he smirked.
A furious Sarah stormed into the throne room. Her hair was tinted with red spray in color and she was dressed in tight golden pants with a shirt featuring the face of a man with a lightning bolt on his face. "Where is he?"
"Ah, ah, ah... You know how this works, Precious."
Sarah groaned and ran her fingers through her hair. "Through dangers under and hardships unnumbered, I have fought my way here to the castle beyond the Goblin City, to take back the Rock Star that you have stolen."
"Your will is as certainly as strong as mine. And my kingdom is yours. Now, tell me that I have no power over you." Jareth teased her.
"Seriously Jareth. What the hell is wrong with you? You can't just go and kidnap David Bowie from his own concert." Sarah scolded.
"I let him finish."
"That's not the point!" Shaking her head she sat on the throne beside him. "One night. That's all I've ever asked for. Just one night above with my girlfriends for our yearly concert. Is that too much to ask?"
"But why does it always have to be to see him?" Jareth held the crystal up. "There are hundreds of concerts yet you always go to see him."
Sighing, Sarah moved so that she was sitting on the curved arm of his throne. "Jareth, we started going to his concerts when I was 16. It became a tradition. I've been to hundreds of concerts but tonight was about more than seeing Bowie. It was about reuniting with old friends, sharing some laughs, and acting like a wild teenager once more." She took his free hand in hers and held it to her chest. "After all these years together, are you really jealous of a rock star?"
"Maybe..." he grumbled.
Sarah kissed his cheek. She knew he usually got depressed when she left. The goblins had informed her of his drinking habits and the damage done to a certain local pub. She hadn't said anything because she figured it would pass. Since she agreed to stay with him and be his Queen, they hadn't been apart at all. He didn't refuse her when she asked to go home one night a year, but she never thought that it might bother him that she was technically going to see another man.
"You know you're the only one for me, Jareth." She whispered as she snuggled against him.
"I love you," he whispered before kissing her lovingly.
"I love you too." She replied when the kiss ended. "Now, how about taking Mr. Bowie home?"
Jareth rubbed his head and chuckled nervously. "I may have promised the goblins a concert before I let him go."
Sarah took the crystal from his hand and sighed. "I'm really sorry about this," she said softly. Reaching for the King's hand she got up and pulled him to his feet. "Come on, let's get all the goblins and get this over with."
"Sounds good to me, Precious."
"And Jareth..."
"Yes?"
"Promise me you won't go drinking, damage a pub, or kidnap anyone the next time I have girls' night out."
Jareth wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close. "I give you my word I shall do my best to find something more appropriate to occupy my time when you leave, as long as you promise you'll always come home at a reasonable hour so that I may show you exactly how much I love you before we retire for the night."
"Deal." Smiling she kissed him sweetly. "Let's make this a short concert. The sooner you get our rock star home, the sooner you can keep your end of our deal."
