Inside: Plane

Steven continues climbing inside the plane, and the wheel he is on moves up and sets inside the plane. Quietly, he jumps over the railing on the walkway and looks around, seeing large one-seater missile bombs with the names of other cities; Chicago, Boston, and New York.

Steven hears footsteps above him and looks up to see a few HYDRA soldiers run across the walkway. Steven climbs up, grabs a railing above him, and swings and kicks the last guy running off the walkway, alerting the others. He jumps down on the walkway. #18 HYDRA soldier takes out his knife and attacks Steven, swings the knife. Steven moves to the side, dodging it, and the soldier swings again. Steven blocks it with his right arm and punches his ribs with the other hand, making the soldier stumble on the railing. Steven kicks #19 HYDRA soldier behind #18 HYDRA soldier down on the floor. #20 HYDRA soldier turns and continues to run. Steven grabs the #18 HYDRA soldier's knife, throws it at the #20 HYDRA soldier, and hits him in the back, making him fall forward. #18 HYDRA soldier stands up, Steven holds up his arms to block any punches, and he retorts by punching the guy.

#19 HYDRA soldier stumbles up and makes his way to the Chicago one-seater missile bomb. Steven sees this and makes his way to a small controller stand and presses a button, and pulls a lever down, making the one-seater missile released from the plane, but without #19 HYDRA soldier in it and he grabbed onto a railing before he could fall, but loses his grip and falls out of the plane into the sky, screaming. Steven moves back as he was about to be punched by #21 HYDRA soldier and punches him back, then turns to #22 HYDRA soldier and ducks when he threw a punch and quickly punched him, making him fall and Steven grunts as he grabs #22 HYDRA soldier and lifts him and throws him out of the plane in the same opening where #19 HYDRA soldier fell.

Another hatch opens, under the New York one-seater, meaning a HYDRA soldier successfully entered the missile. Steven grabs his shield and jumps onto the missile, about to hit it with his shield. The #24 HYDRA soldier ran and jumped on his back, making him stumble and drop his shield onto the floor, and the #23 HYDRA soldier in the missile switched a switch, and the missile dropped out of the plane with Steven and #24 HYDRA soldier still on top of it.

Outside: In The Air

The missile opens its wing blades to stay steady in the air, controlling it. Steven struggles with the #24 HYDRA soldier on his back and holding onto the missile as the #23 HYDRA soldier starts to make the missile swerve around. Suddenly, the #23 HYDRA soldier controls it, making the missile fly down, making Steven slide to the noise of it, then controlling it to fly up and again, making Steven slide to the back where the blades are. He grabs hold of the top hatch and dodges #24 HYDRA soldier as he was not so successful in grabbing onto the missile and flies straight to the blades, and dies when it cuts him into pieces. Still going up, Steven manages to open the hatch and quickly pulls the emergency latch, making the #23 HYDRA soldier fly out of his seat. Steven quickly gets in and gains control of the missile, flying it back to Spinel's plane.

Inside / Outside: Plane

Spinel sees the New York missile being controlled by Steven, flying to the front of the plane and presses a few buttons, making the guns on the roof target Steven and shoot at him. Steven dodges as fast as possible and gets hit in the back wing. Steven turns to the back of the plane and heads straight for it, and roughly but successfully lands back into the plane. Steven opens the latch door above him and gets out of the missile and grabs his shield, and walks determinedly to where Spinel is.

Main Room

Steven slowly and quietly opens the door to the main room and, on guard with his shield on his arm, walks down the stairs and cautiously walks to the center of the room and tries to see if Spinel's sitting in the main chair. Suddenly behind him, Spinel comes out with the big tech gun and shoots at Steven. Steven hears the charge of the gun and quickly turns and blocks the blast with his shield, making the blast hit one of the windows in the front, air blowing in. Spinel asks, still aiming the gun at him, "You don't give up, do you?"

Steven answers, "Nope." Then starts running forward and blocks the blasts Spinel shoots him with. Spinel swings the gun at him, and Steven hits it away with his shield, punches her in the stomach and swings his shield at her. Spinel leans back enough for him to miss and punches him in the stomach with her left hand, then punches Steven in the face with her right hand, grabs him and throws him down on the floor, and kicks him in the chest as Steven is about to get up and goes to kick him again. Steven blocks that one with his hands and gets up and tackles her against a metal cage, and Spinel pushes and punches him off of her, and they both fall on the floor. Steven quickly grabs a box and hits Spinel as she is about to attack him, throwing the box away. Steven stands up and grabs Spinel, and puts her in a chokehold. Spinel choking and struggles to get him off her as they both end up falling right next to a box where the cube is in the machine. Steven quickly stands up, grabs his shield, and swings it at Spinel, who is already standing up and blocking the swing. She punches Steven in the ribs with her left hand, grabs his shield, hits him with it, and pushes him back against the cubing machine with the shield. Steven retaliates by head butting her, grabbing back his shield and hitting her with it, pushing Spinel back against her chair to the controls, making it spark, and the plane goes forward, Steven falling at the action of the plane, losing his shield in the process. The plane goes straight down, making Steven fly up to the ceiling, and Spinel also flies up and attacks him. They roll across kicks with both feet at Steven, making him fly back, and Spinel climbs down a beam and reaches over, switches the controls to autopilot, and the plane goes up straight again, making Steven fall hard and use the railing to stand.

Spinel takes out her pistol, walks forward, and shouts at Steven, "You could have the power of the gods!" She shoots at Steven, who ducks in time, moving out of the way and continues to move as Spinel continues to shoot while talking to him, "Yet you wear a flag on your chest and think you fight a battle of nations. I have seen the future, Captain. No flags!"

Steven shouts, "Not my future!" He leaps across the railing to the center floor where his shield is and somersaults down on the floor, grabbing his shield, kneeling up and blocking a blast, and throwing his shield hard at Spinel, making her fly back and hit the machine with the cube in it, making it malfunction and causes the cube to come up and react, making the energy surround the machine for a moment, then disappears.

Spinel stands beside the machine and tells him, "What have you done?" She breathes heavily, "No." She grabs hold of the actual cube, holds it up, and stares as it begins to shine brightly and the energy comes back, starts flying out of it, surrounding the room, and a portal opens above the ceiling of the plane, looking like the night sky/universe with stars shining all around it. Steven looks around in curiosity while Spinel is smiling, satisfied at what she's seeing, then suddenly frowns because the cube starts to react badly and burns her hand. More of its energy shoots up and spreads around her, making her scream. Steven covers his face with his arms as the energy field shoots up to more forcefully and brightly as it absorbs Spinel completely and shoots her up to the night sky/universe, causing a powerful explosion up there. Then it stops and sends an energy force wave out of the plane and out to the sky before disappearing entirely, and the cube drops to the floor, burning the floor. Steven picks up his shield and watches as the cube burns through the floor entirely and drops out to the sky, falling.

Steven, exhausted, rushes up to where the main center controls are and places his shield down before going up to the chair and taking his helmet off in the process before sitting down and turning to the control panel, seeing on the screen that the plane/ship was heading to New York, Steven looks out the window in front of him worriedly as the wind blows around him from the broken window.

The Alps: HYDRA Base Hanger

Control Room

Amethyst sat by the radio, looking for a signal, while Colonel Dewey, Jenny, and Sadie stood up and talked quietly. They turn when they hear Steven on the radio.

On the radio, Steven's voice is heard, "Come in. This is Captain Universe. Do you read me?"

Amethyst answers, "Captain Universe, where is your-." Sadie rushes over to her and gently pushes her out of the chair.

Sadie asks worriedly but also in relief as she sits down, "Steven, is that you? Are you alright?" Amethyst backed away respectfully.

On the radio, Steven answers, "Sadie! Spinel's dead."

Inside: Plane

Steven is still sitting there but is switching switches on the controls as he radios with Sadie.

Sadie asks him, "What about the plane?"

Steven hesitates, "That's a little tougher to explain."

The Alps: HYDRA Base Hanger

Control Room

Sadie was sitting down by the radio as Amethyst, Colonel Dewey, and Jenny stood beside her, listening.

Sadie tells him, "Give me your coordinates. I'll find you a safe landing site."

Inside: Plane

Steven was looking at the screen, seeing the plane layout and the damage it was showing, and telling her, "There's not going to be a safe landing."

The Alps: HYDRA Base Hanger

Control Room

Sadie is still sitting by the radio with Amethyst, Colonel Dewey, and Jenny standing behind her.

On the radio, Steven says, "But I can try to force it down." Colonel Dewey silently gestures for Bismuth to leave, and he and Amethyst walk away to give Sadie some time alone while Jenny stands behind Sadie for support.

Sadie now struggles to keep her emotions in, "I'll get Stanford on the line. He'll know what to do."

On the radio, Steven says, "There's not enough time. This thing's moving too fast, heading for New York."

Inside: Plane

Steven looks out the large window and sadly tells her, "I gotta put her in the water."

The Alps: HYDRA Base Hanger

Control Room

Sadie was on the verge of crying, begging him, "Please, don't do this. We have time. We can work it out." Jenny stands behind her, getting emotional and hearing the two best friends talk.

Inside: Plane

Steven looked at the screens, "Right now, I'm in the middle of nowhere. If I wait any longer, a lot of people are going to die." He looks out the window, and pauses for a moment, tears also in his eyes, "Sadie, this is my choice."

At the base, Sadie lets a tear go down her cheek.

Steven pulls out Connie's compass (from Chapter 8) with a picture of a smiling Sadie in it and places it on the control panel in front of him, looking at it before forcing the plane down towards the water, looking at the picture again, "Sadie?"

On the radio, Sadie responds to him, "I'm here."

Steven tells her, "I'm gonna need a rain check on that play date." He mentions the conversation from before they left to go after Spinel (From Chapter 9).

The Alps: HYDRA Base Hanger

Control Room

Sadie, still sitting with Jenny standing behind her, a tear slipping from her eye. With tears streaming down her face, Sadie faintly smiles at the mention of that, "Alright. A week, next Saturday, at my apartment."

Inside: Plane

Steven, now shaky, looking out the window, the plane still going down, tells her, "You got it."

On the radio, Sadie says, "Eight o'clock on the dot. Don't you dare be late! Understood?"

Steven tells her, "You know, I still don't know how to hold him."

The Alps: HYDRA Base Hanger

Control Room

Sadie, still sitting with Jenny standing behind her, more tears going down her eyes. With tears streaming down her face, Sadie smiles a little, "I'll show you how. Just be there."

Inside: Plane

Still looking out the window at the ice, much closer now, Steven tells her, "You'll have to tell the kid a good story."

The Alps: HYDRA Base Hanger

Control Room

Sadie is still sitting with Jenny standing behind her, crying. Sadie, with tears streaming down her face.

On the radio, Steven says, "I'd hate to say something wrong-." The line goes static, and Sadie begins to cry even harder.

Sadie panics, trying to reach out to Steven on the radio, "Steven?" Jenny walks closer to her, also crying, "Steven?" Jenny puts her hand on Sadie's shoulder in sympathy. Standing by the doorway, Colonel Dewey sadly looks down at the floor, turns, and walks away, "Steven?" Sadie's now sobbing. Jenny hugs her friend on her right side and lets her cry at the loss of another member of her family. All her best friends, Connie, Lars, and now Steven, all of whom she called family, is gone.

Evening: Arctic

The plane crashed and landed on the ice. Many metal pieces were broken off when the plane slid across the snow. The plane sinks into the water and ice as the heat from the plane melts it down.

England

Planes fly by as people cheer for VE-Day, soldiers returning home to their families.

Stork Club

The Crystal Gems in their uniforms all raise a glass, clinking them with Pearl saying, "To the Captain." They all take a drink, all looking sad.

Evening: Arctic

A machine goes down and locates the Tesseract. On a ship above, Stanford looked out the window with a crew around him.

Crew member #1 grabs Stanford's attention, "Sir." Stanford turns and walks over to him and sees what crew member #1 is seen on the screen; a robotic hand is holding onto the Tesseract with the Captain beside him.

Stanford tells the captain while still looking at the Tesseract, "Take us to the next grid point." The captain walks away.

Crew member #1 looks at Stanford, confused, "But there's no trace of wreckage." He looks at the screens, "And the energy signature stops here."

Stanford looks up with a determined look, "Just keep looking."

Military Base

People were packing everything up. Colonel Dewey walks up to Sadie, who is beside Jenny, putting files in boxes. Colonel Dewey places a file down on the table where they are, gives Sadie a sympathetic look, and then walks away.

Sadie picks up the file. It says 'CLASSIFIED CAPTAIN UNIVERSE' with a red stamp underneath it saying 'INACTIVE'. She looks at it sadly and opens it, seeing two pictures sticking out of the side, and she gasps lightly and emotionally. One picture she slides out is a picture of Steven before the transformation when he was still training. She lightly grazes her fingers on the picture sadly. She sniffles a bit before sliding the other picture out to see her, Lars, Steven, and Connie all smiling at each other. The picture was taken from footage that was taken unknowingly to them before the three minus Sadie went to take down the HYDRA base camps. They were all laughing and smiling brightly, all happy to be together. Sadie lets a small tear out and lightly grazes her fingers at Lars and Connie's smiling faces and smiles slightly at the sight of her best friends, but she wants to stay strong for her son. In sympathy and comfort, Jenny puts her right hand on Sadie's left shoulder.

Time Passes

Kids were on the street with Captain Universe's shield painted on garbage can lids, playing as people continued to live, some knowing and some not knowing that Steven Universe, Captain Universe, saved their lives.
