MAJIN The Monitor

Sonic Remix - "Dr. Gigglymen"

Chaos energy is a curious thing. Most people would consider it to be a freak phenomenon. One that cannot be harnessed. But that's not what Ivo Robotnik believes. To him, he is the living proof of that. The infernal hedgehog is the chaos, and he is the order. Such a phenomenon must be present in life as well. So to control Chaos one would need order itself. It is under that very theory that the doctor created a machine that would help him manipulate such powerful energy. To start things off, he would use this machine to help him take care of all these strange monitors that popped up all over Mobius. He had already replaced some of them with his own copies and hoped that he could develop a virus that could allow him to twist the very essence of these monitors into expatriating the process. After all, one cannot simply create shields, ring energy, or whatever else could come out of these magical screens out of thin air. It could only be one thing: Chaos Energy. One blast from his Chaos manipulator confirmed his suspicions, and he began work on creating a virus that would infect these monitors, and turn their energy against that meddlesome blue blur.

The Virus was to be in his image, of course, and work on his own handsome facial features was well underway, his own beautiful mustache was the final touch for the night. Putting the machine to rest for the night, the monitor went back to its default state: an "extra life" box. Those incredible screens had the power to allow the Hedgehog to shrug off the deadliest of attacks: getting back up after a direct hit from a deadly laser blast, his own lungs filling back up with air after drowning, resisting the highest of falls... it was unlike anything the doctor had ever seen before. As if to mock him, those kinds of screens even took on the face of the hedgehog himself in their active state. It stared at him blankly as its own display shimmered under the dull greys of the Doctor's testing chamber. But, as mentioned prior, Chaos energy is a fickle thing, always moving and changing. When left to its own devices, it will adapt and assimilate foreign elements...

A deafening explosion was the first thing that roused the Doctor from his bed. The second was the all too distinct sound of Hedgehog-based mayhem tearing his lab apart! That blasted hedgehog! Does he not have the decency to attack during the day?! No time to grab a weapon, he'd just have to rely on the lab's own defenses to take him out. Maybe he could scare him off and avoid further damage? Hell, if push comes to shove he could get that nasty little vermin to chase him out to one of his many cleverly placed traps, and kill two birds with one stone! Shimmying down the corridor into the lab, the Doctor indeed stumbles onto a blue blur... but something's wrong

"...Sonic?" There in front of lays a strange vision. This creature indeed looked like his sworn nemesis: Sonic The Hedgehog from the back, but after closer inspection... nothing about this figure was right: An azure aura surrounded this being, and enveloped its entire body in that aura. It did not seem to be fully solid, as very faint transparency covered its body. The World's most famous Hedgehog's own features were all accounted for, but they were warped: Most noticeably, the proportions were all wrong. A lanky frame gave its normally jovial features a completely different look. But that was far from the biggest deviation for this faker; as it turns around to meet its maker, a terrifying visage stares back at the doctor.

"Hey! Wanna have some fun?"

this was all wrong. This handsome face wasn't meant to be stretched on this horrid bean body! A huge grin plastered its face, all the while wagging its finger as if to mock its own creator. And just like that, the figure was gone, it dissipated as soon as it had arrived. Alone, the monitor lays in the room. Busted. Broken. Useless.

The greatest genius in the world would have perhaps written this whole experience as one bad dream induced from one too many losses from his nemesis, had the horrid creature not been heard of again around Mobius. Indeed, much to the doctor's surprise, reports of a Sonic Doppelganger causing mayhem had somehow made their news all around the world! Strange, Metal Sonic had not gone out for a mission in quite a while; Much less a defamation mission, especially one this sloppy! His own curiosity peaked, Badnik hordes had been sent out in various locations to catch a glimpse of this supposed evil Sonic. Nicknamed "Majin" by its onlookers, due to its supposed terrifying features (So much for complementary descriptions...) the being did indeed show its face again.

"Infinite Lives, Infinite Fun!"

The figure exclaimed before booming out and beginning its usual pattern of random mayhem and destruction. There the doctor solved the mystery of how the creature could behave in such an erratic and random pattern (not that anybody would hear it from him!): Upon reviewing the direct feed footage from one lucky Buzz-Bomber (who had, as part of the special Badnik reward program, been offered the title of Supreme Sleuthing Simpleton! What an honor.), the first victim of the creature's rampage made itself known: An Extra-Life monitor. One that it had apparently jumped out of. Well! that would certainly solve the monitor problem, in due time, at least.

Indeed, the doctor's own virus had mutated under the influence of Chaos Energy, and given birth to this deranged being. It has no goal, it simply exists. Its original purpose as a monitor exterminator now allows it to manifest from any given extra life monitor, and expend all of its built-up Chaos Energy by going berserk on whatever it can find there. While it's unable to survive in the real world for an extended period of time, as a being of pure Chaos Energy, it can still harness any power inherent to said energy. For example, if a fire shield was to be in its general vicinity, it could use it to cause even more mayhem. Ring energy allows it to sustain itself for longer periods of time, and whatever other powerups like speed-up shoes or spring monitors can as well.

God forbid that it never comes across one of the fabled "S" Monitors, or Mobius might be in for one bad day.
