Link was sound asleep when he heard a voice speak. He wasn't sure if he was still dreaming or what. The haunted voice whispered to him "Hero, Hyrule is in need of your presence. A dark shadow has been cast over its lands and war has plagued the lands. The lands are being torn asunder and the innocent are being butchered. Hyrule needs its hero once again. Please return home, Hero."
Link sat up shaking, looking around for the source of the voice, but found nothing. Letting out a small sigh he looked to Navi who was curled up asleep with most of the blanket wrapped around her as in her new size she had become quite the blanket hog. They both had grown accustomed to her being 'normal' size now.
Quietly he got to his feet knowing he wasn't going to get back to sleep after what he just experienced. It was the same message for the last couple of weeks, night after night though each night the voice would get louder and more urgent sounding. This time he could have sworn someone was standing right next to him as the voice spoke.
Walking over to the mirror he looked into it as he examined himself. He looked tired and somewhat worn out. He tried to calm his mind. He had yet to tell anyone about this continuous intrusion on his sleep. The reason he hadn't was because he wasn't sure if it was a true message or just his worry over such happening. Grabbing a shirt off the dresser he tossed it on walking out of the bedroom. He headed down the hall to the kitchen trying to decide what he was going to do.
In the kitchen he looked to the clock, it wasn't even five yet. Frowning, he knew he would be the only one up for a while. He grabbed an apple and headed outside. It was early morning and the sun was just then starting its slow creep over the land. Link looked over to Celtic and Autum's house. The lights were on but there were no signs of life over there.
Link strolled up to a large tree and sat down on the swing hanging from it. He rocked it back and forth as he reran the message through his mind wondering what to do about such. He sat there for a while totally immersed in his thoughts.
"Morning" Link looked up a bit shocked. What made it more surprising was that it was the last person he was expecting to see at this time. "Er.. Celtic. Um, morning." he said as he smiled weakly at the devil. "You're up early" Celtic pointed out as he leaned against the tree giving the blonde a lookover.
Link focused on the apple he was holding thinking about how to respond. He really didn't want the topic to be on him. "To be honest I think this is the earliest I have ever seen you up. I don't think I have ever seen you up before nine." Link stated as he looked at him.
Celtic shook his head looking at his house. "Autum just went to bed. So I guess you two won't be sparing this morning." He chuckled. "I'm heading to bed, too. I just needed to clear my mind a little first." Link looked at him confused. Autum was one who goes to bed early and wakes up early. "Why are you both going to bed right now?" Link asked him.
Celtic chuckled at the question. "Surprised she didn't tell you. Hm.." Celtic remarked as he pulled out his pack of cigs looking at it. He had been trying to quit, but the stress was getting to him and he was having a weak moment. Pulling out a cig he glanced to Link. "Don't tell Autum I'm sneaking a smoke, please. It's hard enough trying to beat this thing without her badgering me every time I mess up." Link nodded.
Celtic tapped the box against his hand thinking if he should tell Link or not since Autum hadn't. "Well." He started as he put the cig in his mouth and pocketed the rest. "She has been looking into adopting a kid. Though she is WAY over thinking it all." Celtic declared as he looked to Link. "And I mean way overthinking it."
Link smiled at him. "I'm happy she is finally thinking about doing it. I know she kept going back and forth about it. Are you ready to have a kid?" Celtic lit up the cig and shook his head. "I don't think I'll be ever ready for that one. So, just going to go with whatever she wants and try to figure it out as we go."
Chuckling Link took a bite out of his apple. "So why is it that you are .. up so early?" Celtic asked as he sat down on the ground leaning against the tree. He closed his eyes taking a long drag off his cig. It had been a couple of weeks since he had one, but Autum was driving him up a wall with this decision they, well she was trying to make..
Link glanced at Celtic as he sat down. He took another bite of his apple as he contemplated bringing up the message he kept receiving. Maybe if he just said it out loud the feeling of dread he got from it would leave him? he thought. "I've been having weird dreams… Someone calling me home. Telling me Hyrule is at war and in need of my help."
Celtic took a long look at him as he weighed in on what he said. "If it's bothering you that much just have Navi teleport you there." Celtic suggested. "I think she could handle it. I mean I imagine that she wouldn't mind seeing a bit of home." He shrugged as he thought further. "If you really are worried about it, wait for the supreme bitch to wake up and the four of us can go."
Link looked over at him. "You sure you and Autum wouldn't mind going with us?" Celtic chuckled. "I doubt any favor you ask of Autum, she would turn down. You know how she likes to spoil you. Makes me believe our child will be very spoiled which kind of worries me a little. Anyway she'll be up around noon, at least I'm hoping as I want to get a little bit of sleep."
Link watched Celtic get to his feet. "I'm going to go pass out. If I were you I would go pack a bag, that's what Autum would want. Grab some med supplies, ammo, and so on." Celtic directed as he put out his cig with his finger. "Later." he said as he glanced around knowing Autum would find the cigarette butt no matter where he hid it, so he decided he'd bury it in the bushes next to the house. He started to head back to the house as he waved his hand in the air.
Getting to his feet, Link watched Celtic walk off. He waved back at him. He then looked to his own place, he headed in that direction to pack a bag like Celtic had suggested.
Navi yawned as she walked out into the kitchen. Stretching, she looked to Link who was sitting in the adjacent living room, reading. Her attention went to the bag sitting on the coffee table. "Are you planning on going somewhere?" she questioned him a little surprised as she appeared next to him on the couch.
Looking up from the book he said "I thought we might take a small jot to Hyrule." He said as he watched her to see her reaction. She looked at him in surprise. He knew the look that went over her face, it meant a flurry of questions were coming. So he thought he'd put an end to those questions ahead of time as he spouted "I have been hearing a voice in my dreams telling me that Hyrule is at war." He closed the book that he was reading as he looked to her for her response.
"How long?" Navi asked him as she put her hands on his. "How long have you been hearing this voice for I've noticed your restless nights?" she asked as she looked into his blue eyes for the answer. She could see his worry. She smiled softly, "It will be fine. I mean we have this advanced tech and I mean you have been working on your fighting skills and so have I! We will be able to come in and help everyone!" she cheerfully said. "I mean we can ask Autum and Celtic to come too. I mean it wouldn't hurt. Ok, maybe Autum's bitchiness might hurt a little. But as long as we don't let her talk to anyone it should be fine "
Link smiled as she went on a rant. She always cheered him up with just being herself. "Celtic already said that they would go." Navi looked at him and frowned. "It's nine…Did you wake him? Why was he up? He can barely open his eyes by 10. He is too busy playing games on the vid screen all night. Did you go over there and wake them while you let me sleep through this decision?" Link shook his head as he set the book on the table. "Celtic was up earlier when I was and we talked. I guess him and Autum were just heading to bed at that time."
Navi shook her head. "Autum isn't one to really stay up late. Wonder why they both were up till morning? Have they been fighting, I mean more than they usually do?" Link leaned back looking at the bag deciding if he wanted to tell her but he didn't want her to think they were fighting. "They talked about adoption. I guess Autum has been a bit obsessed with it yet quite indecisive is what I got from Celtic."
Navi grinned a huge grin at him. "They are going to have a kid! That is great. And we can help out. Maybe even teach the kid to climb a tree or how to ride a horse or even have outdoor adventures! I know we could be a lot of help. We could be like its second parents or something of the sort." Link chuckled as Navi went on a rampage about being part of the kids' life.
Getting to his feet. "Do you want something to eat?" Link asked. "If you're cooking." "Yeah I can cook something." Link chuckled some and headed to the kitchen. He was hoping to keep his mind off the lurking feeling in the back of his mind that Hyrule was in trouble because he wasn't there to protect it.
