Extensive Time Conversation – A Big Time Rush Fanfiction….

A/N – Well, here is a new BTR one-shot from me! This idea came to me a while ago, and I never saw anyone write about this, so I thought I'd take the challenge up!
This is set in the first episode of the parking lot scene when Kendall tells Gustavo he would go to L.A and the time they arrive in L.A as well. Nothing is shown there, so this is about what could've possibly happened in between. I hope you like this one-shot, I've been a little nervous about writing this, but I am anyway! So yeah, let me know what you think!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it! I own nothing from Big Time Rush!

Big Time Conversation

One-Shot

By: BTRFanatic13

Sixteen-year-old Kendall Knight held his breath as he climbed into the black limo standing out of place in the Sherwood Supermarket parking lot. The Minnesota air whipped against his face before entering the sudden heated car; others stared as they passed by the stretched-out vehicle getting ready to leave. His three best friends, Logan Mitchell, James Diamond, and Carlos Garcia, squeezed into the limo beside them as the Gustavo Roque as his assistant Kelly Weignwright sat across them.

As the limo drove through the Minnesota neighborhood, Gustavo and Kelly gave the four boys a rundown of what L.A was like and what their work was going to include. Kendall stared out the window with all the talk and excitement and wondered if he made the right choice of leaving Minnesota for L.A It was going to be worth it. From the sounds of things, it was going to be hard work but fun. After all, it was three months, all exclusive paid, and his three best buds would be with him. Where was the harm in trying? If they made it big, fantastic; if they didn't, well, he could always come back and play hockey. Life was full of chances, and when the opportunity came, Kendall was always the one to tell his friends to take it; now, it was his turn.

This got Kendall excited, but his nerves returned when they pulled into his mother's driveway. Kendall could easily see the Goldstein's outside next door, they were eyeing the limo, no doubt, and the Goldstein's were a random family that lived next to him. They never really got along; the family's mother was usually rude to Kendall and Katie, thus making his mother not like them. Either way, Kendall ignored their looks, or they all climbed out and went into Kendall's house. Entering the house, they found his mother in the kitchen, who was quite surprised to see him, Logan, James, and Carlos with Gustavo and Kelly. Mrs. Knight starts making tea again, and they gather in the living room.

"– Kendall decided to come to L.A and produce some demos with me. On the off course that I bring his….friends….along and turn them into a signing group." Gustavo explains as he slightly smiles at the fact, he sips his tea. "So, I'm going to do just that. Also, as I said, all exclusive paid, three months, and we will go from there. I need the other three's parents to agree and let the boys come." Gustavo finishes as he sets his teacup down and leans back against the couch.

Mama Knight Stands looking at the group in slight surprise, but her focus is mainly on her only son. "I see, Kendall. Can I talk to you alone in the kitchen for a moment?" Mama Knight asked with a reassuring smile before she stood up and headed for the said room.

Knowing he didn't have a choice, Kendall excused himself and followed his mother into their kitchen. They stopped by the island counter, making sure the others were out of earshot, it was no doubt his mother was concerned about his sudden change of mind on going. Looking anywhere but her eyes, Kendall sat at the island counter and fiddle with his fingers as another wave of nervousness came over him.

"Are you sure about this, honey? Just the other day, you told the man no, and suddenly you want to go, and he wants to take all four of you? You're not being forced, are you?" Mama Knight questioned with a raised eyebrow; she heard about Hollywood taking advantage of young kids.

Of course, she didn't want her son or his friends to be one of those victims with big dreams only to be crushed in the end. She saw it happen to another star; who's to say her son would be any different. After all, she loved him, and while she wanted to protect him and keep him close to her, she also tried to support him and give him the world. When they say being a mother is one of the hardest but proudest jobs you could have, they weren't kidding, and Mama Knight loved both her kids, and she was proud of whom they were becoming. Kendall was becoming more and more like his father each day (whether he knew it or not), and Mama Knight could see the determination and excitement in her son's eyes. Smiling to herself, she watched as Kendall listened to her speak.

"I'm sure, mom, trust me, I'm not being forced. I'd let you know if I was." Kendall explains as he shifts in his seat. "I want to do this! I'm the one always saying to my friends that opportunities like these come once in a lifetime and when they do, you got to take the chance big time, or you'll live your life wondering what if and in regret." Kendall finishes as he a grin spreads across his face.

Looking at her son in surprise, Mama Knight wonders how he became so wise at a young age. She sighs, "Alright, if you're sure, it's just going to be a sudden change, is all that's why I am making sure. I will warn you, Kendall, that Hollywood can be challenging. Once you're exposed to the spotlight, your life isn't so private anymore. People will know your name, see what you're doing and who you are with twenty-four seven. What you post on social media won't be so private anymore either; you have to be careful with those things. I know Facebook is big right now and – "Mrs. Knight begins to ramble, not realizing she is until Kendall interrupts her.

"Mom, I understand. Trust me, James talks about this stuff all the time," Kendall states as he laughs at his mom's rambling some. He adds, "I want to do this; it's three months, all expenses paid, he's willing to bring my friends along with me and make us a band. What more could we ask for? If we make it big awesome, if not, then we come back after three months or decides what to do from there. Where's the harm in trying, right?" Kendall questions as he smiles at the women before him.

Mama Knight sighs; she can see the look on her son's face; it's pure excitement at the idea of going to L. A and being in a boy band. The only time she ever saw that look on his face was when he was finally old enough to try out for the school's hockey team. That look was enough to convince her he wanted this.

"Fine….you can do this." The Mama Knight States as Kendall cheered; he gets up and starts thanking her as he hugs her. She says, "Under a few conditions – "

"Moooom!" Kendall whines; he stops hugging her; he knows there is a catch.

"No whining." The Mama Knight States, with a stern-looking making Kendall pout.

"Fine, what are the conditions?" Kendall questions with a raised eyebrow; if this were the only way he got to do this, he would put up with whatever her demands were.

Mama Knights, "One, Katie and I are coming with you. I'm not letting you four of all people go to L.A without supervision. I'm also not leaving your sister behind." Mama Knight begins as she counts on her fingers while Kendall nods but smiles. She continues, "Two, I want updates about your work and what goes on there. Three, I want you to know you can always talk to me about anything if something happens. Finally, I want you to have fun. Even though this is work, you're still young. Don't get caught up in Hollywood fame, but have fun, okay?" Mama Knight finishes counting as she smiles at her son.

Kendall nods and hugs his mom. "Okay, thank you, mom."

She hugs him back, "Your welcome. Now, let's get back into the room; we have to work things out with this man and get the other mother's over to give their son's permission." The Mama Knight States that they end their hug and head back to the living room.

The two re-enter the room and join the group. Gustavo and Mama Knight look over Gustavo's contract for the boys and parents to sign for the next two hours. Logan, James, and Carlos also called their mothers and asked them to come to the Knight's house, stating they would explain when they got there. Soon, the mothers showed up, and while Gustavo went over everything once more with his friend's parents, the four boys went up to Kendall's room to hang out while Kendall started packing. Katie followed behind, only to disappear into her room and start packing her things too.

Once inside his room, Kendall closes the door, and the guys start chatting about being excited for L.A and what this new adventure has to lie ahead for them. The four take a look at Kendall's room as the young teenaged boy figures out where to even start packing. Finally deciding his closet/dresser was the better option, Kendall starts pulling clothes out and packing as they hang out. It is ten minutes late when Kendall sighs, leaning against the wall feeling overwhelmed by all the things he has to load. Logan is at his desk, helping him go through things in it. Carlos is lying on the bed balancing his giant decorative world globe in his hands; Kendall has no idea how he got it out. James goes through his bathroom stuff, seeing better to keep and what wouldn't be. The guys were doing their own thing, and that was what Kendall loved.

"Are you sure about this, Kendall?" Logan speaks up, suddenly breaking the awkward silence making everyone look at Kendall. "I mean, bringing us along, he only wanted you after all…." Logan states nervously as he trails off, avoiding eye contact.

Sighing, Kendall moves from the wall and sits on the floor. "I'm sure, guys! Besides, you all said you would go. Plus, being famous wouldn't be fun if I wasn't famous without my best buds! After all, this is a win for everyone." Kendall states with a grin.

The other's eye him as Carlos spins the big glode in his hand. They say, "It is? How?" The wonder as they continue to do their own thing once more.

"Simple, Gustavo gets his fire….whatever that means, we get a chance at the big time, which also helps James live his dream, plus L.A will also help give my mom and Katie better opportunities than in our small Minnesota town. So I think it's worth it." Kendall states with a smile.

The guys nod, agreeing with him. Carlos says, "He's right; this is going to be a blast. L.A, the beach, the girls…the screaming fans when we get more known…it'll be fun!"
Carlos states as he spins the globe once more; he manages to catch it after almost losing it.

"Right, exactly, and dude, can you put my globe down before you break it or something else?" Kendall questions final with a raised eyebrow as he stands up and stretches.

"Nah, I have it; I'm a pro, no worries." Carlos states as the others slightly roll their eyes.

"Anyway, I just wanted to make sure was all. I didn't want you to feel like you had to drag us along or that we forced you to do it because we talked you into it."
Logan finishes as he sighs and fixes the fingerless gloves on his hands.

Kendall smiles, "I know, and I promise you this is all my choice. I want this for me, for us. It'll be an adventure, like Carlos said." Kendall states and sits on the edge of his bed,

"They are both Logan, and you're just scared," James states as he comes out of the bathroom connected to Kendall's room with a small grocery bag full of items. "Once you get a taste of what the fame and L.A has to offer, and you won't regret coming along." James explains as he grins; he was all smiles, of course, for he was too, after all getting his chance at his dream to be famous.

"If you guys put that way and are planning on going, I guess I have no choice but to be supportive and right next to you during all of this. For some reason, is it me, or have I lost the concern talk with you guys?"
Logan questions as he raises an eyebrow.

"No, you lost it, dude," Carlos states as his hand slip, making the globe fall and crash. "Oh shoot!" Carlos yells suddenly as the others stop in their spot when they hear the glode hit the wall and crash onto the floor, knocking the lamp on Kendall's nightstand over. It fell and smashed into a million pieces, along with the globe breaking into two.

Kendall pouts, "There goes my favorite lamp!" He whines as he glares at Carlos slightly.

Carlos goes to apologize when they heard Mama Knight yelled, "What was that!?" the four of them responded, "Nothing!" almost instantly, and they all burst out laughing. At first, Kendall was surprised about how mad he wasn't at Carlos for breaking his things. But then he realized it was because he was about to L.A to be in a boy band and make money for being famous, he could instantly replace them later on. Kendall starts to pack some more and clean the mess up as they all hang out with that thought in mind. The idea of L.A and is a signing group sounding better and better by the minute.

It was almost eleven pm when the other mom's called for their sons to go home for the night. They had to pack as well. Gustavo and Kelly gave them two days to pack all their things and meet them at the Minnesota airport and for Kendall to text Kelly when they would leave for it. Through all of these next two days, Kendall had no idea what L.A was going to bring him and his friends or what being famous would be like. All Kendall knew was that this was a new chapter in his life to exploring, and he got to explore it with his family and his three close best friends; what more could you want?

Life was looking good, and Kendall believed he made the right choice. Little did he know just how crazy things were going to get for him and his friends…

A/N - Well, there was my one-shot; what did you think? I tried to picture what their conversations would've been like if we had seen them.
