"What do you think?" Celtic asked as he looked down the dark hall. He looked back at Autum who was looking at her phone. "You think it's bad news?" he questioned her. Autum had a light hooked on her shoulder that was giving them light in the hall.
Autum shook her head. "Don't know." She let out a sigh. "A whole lot of nothing. It's about an hour out." She looked down the hall. "If we are lucky it ran out of juice or hit something blocking tech." she said as she looked back at him.
Celtic nodded. "You still think we should head down that way?" Autum nodded. "Yeah, I rather not risk any scout groups searching for survivors. Also with Navi not in the best shape. This way we can stay out of the way. One of the worst cases, the ceiling collapsed down there and we just have to walk back an hour. That time burned will help as well cool down what's going on on the surface."
Link jerked awake, disoriented and wondered for a few seconds where he was. Sitting up he looked around checking it out. He was still in the room where they had hid out. There was a small light that was illuminating the room, but it wasn't the sphere. He rubbed his arm trying to calm his mind while taking everything in. His mind was still on the dream he had. It was that voice still calling to him and it felt like whoever it was touched him, woke him yet there was no one there when he woke.
Looking to Navi who was still asleep. She had a blanket on her and she seemed at least at peace sleeping. Taking out the ears plugs he put them in a small pouch on his belt.
Surveying the room, there was no sign of Autum or Celtic. Pushing himself to his feet he slowly started to walk towards the door. His ears perked up as he heard Autum and Celtic talking.
Looking out of the room, Autum and Celtic were in the hallway talking. He went to step out to meet them but he heard a meek voice speak up. Looking back at Navi who was trying to sit up. "Navi." He ran up to her kneeling down next to her.
Navi was still trying to sit up. Link put his hand on her shoulder. "Just lay down, you need to save your strength Navi." He advised her. Navi found everything was muted. She moved her hand to her ear pulling out one of the ear plugs. She looked at it.
Link winced as he moved to pull out the other. "Sorry, Autum had me put those in to help with your hearing." He explained to her as she sat up. She smiled weakly at him. "I'm feeling a bit better."
"He is right you should be resting." Autum spoke as she walked up to the two. "Link, the medical reader." Link looked to Navi and pulled it off of the side of her head. Holding it up to Autum.
Taking it she looked to Celtic who walked over picking up his bag. "We are going to head down the passage way down here." She instructed as she looked at the two. "I would suggest that you, Navi, let Celtic carry you. I rather you save what strength you have. I don't know how much the seals will help you."
Navi bit her lip and then looked to her arm that was covered in the black seals. Her ears were low. "What happened to me? And that loud noise that happened?" She questioned Autum. Before she could ask any more questions Autum knew she needed to just explain what happened.
"It seems whatever happened here they put up anti-magic barrier here. That was pretty much killing you. I rather have you have more strength back before you turn back to your smaller form as well, but I also don't know how much of your current form is keeping you safe. As for the noise the first one was a warning siren that was for a bombing. They use some sort of missile which is pretty much a flying bomb." Autum explained as well as she could. It still was hard trying to explain things so they would understand.
"W-what happened to Hyrule?" Navi asked. "Or did I take us to the wrong place?" She looked to Link as if he might have an answer. She watched him turn away clearly he didn't know or didn't want to say.
"We can only assume you got us to the right place but as far as what has happened here, we don't know. The only way we are going to find out is to find someone and get them to talk." Autum explained as she hosted her bag over her shoulder. "We need to head out, Link roll up that blanket, Celtic if you would pick up Navi." She commanded the two of them.
Celtic messed with his bag some so it was comfortable on his shoulder, so he could carry Navi as well. "If you would hold onto me." Celtic spoke as he bent down next to Navi. She looked to Autum and then back to her. She'd rather walk, but it was clear by Autum's tone not to mess with her right now. She wrapped her arms around his neck and he picked her up easily.
Link grabbed the blanket and started to roll it up. He looked to Autum who grabbed the pillow messing with it. She stuffed it into her bag. "Catch" Link spoke up as he tossed the blanket to her. She caught it and stuffed it into her bag as well. She looked to Celtic and Navi. "You ready? We have a bit of a walk."
Link walked up to Navi's bag. Bending down he picked it up. Hoisting it over his shoulder he messed with the two bags, he was going to carry so they set right on him. He knew that they had a walk and he didn't want to slow down the group.
Celtic nodded and followed Autum who led the way. She walked up picking up the small light on the ground. She attached it to her bag as she sat it on the ground. She unhooked a flashlight off the side of her bag. Walking up behind Celtic she pulled off his flashlight. "Link." She turned it on, tossing it to him.
Catching it he shined it to the ground. Watching her walk out of the room. He could tell something was off. He jogged past Celtic up to her as she started walking down the hall. "So.. um.." Link was trying to figure out what to even ask her. "Your little um orb robot, what happened to it?" he asked her.
Autum glanced at him as they walked down the hall. "Sent it ahead, but it stopped sending out a signal about an hour ago. So when we get near it, we need to prepare ourselves for the worse. But if we are lucky, it just drained the battery or hit something." She explained to him.
The group walked in silence as they continued down the hall. Navi fell asleep in Celtic's arms, it was clear she still needed time to recover. Autum slowed down as the man-made walls were coming to an end. It looked like cave walls could be seen.
Her light hit the metal of the orb reflecting to them. Walking up slowly to the sphere she used her foot to roll it back onto the man made ground off of the cave floor. The orb clicked a couple of times and the light turned on. She slowly rolled it back off of the stone ground onto the cave floor and the light shut off on it.
"Well, that explains why it stopped sending a signal." Autum spoke up as she looked to the group. "What's happening with it?" Link asked, still not sure what was happening. "Like there is anti-magic. Some planets' magic or just the magnetic force of parts of planets keep tech from working." Autum explained as she set her bag on the ground.
Picking up the sphere she turned it off, tossing it in the bag. She pulled out a flashlight like Link's. Hosting the bag back over her shoulder. "Are we still going to keep going?" Celtic spoke up quietly trying not to wake Navi who he was holding.
"We continue." Autum determined as she twisted off the back of the flashlight. She used the wall to strike the back end of the flash light to cause it to light. It was a torch, it seemed she was prepared in case if there was a point the flash light ran out of juice.
Messing with her hand some knowing, the metal parts of her hands will be worthless, she needed it to lock to hold the torch. "Keep your light how it is Link. We don't know how long we will be in here without the tech." she explained to him.
Link watched her. He walked up to the edge of the stone and shined out the light into the cave, He studied it and smiled. "I know where we are." He looked back at them. "I can get us out of the cave." he explained to them. "It's about a 20 minute walk to get out, shouldn't be bad." he explained to them.
"Good, once we get out we can get our bearings and figure out where we are." Autum explained as she held her torch to him. "You lead then." Link nodded taking it, he turned his light to her for her to carry. He headed into the cave leading them through it.
The cave was much colder than the tunnel. Running water could be heard around them. They stayed grouped close as the light only reached out so far. Luckily the trail though the cave was easy to follow. All seemed to be going well, till they reached what should have been the exit.
Link held the torch up high as he reached a large man made wall. There was a pair of doors on it. Looking to Autum as she walked up to the wall. When she got close enough the light on her shoulder turned back on. It seemed people on this planet avoided the areas that were anti-tech, possibly they could use that to their advantage.
Looking at the door she turned the door knob, locked. Autum let out a sigh debating on what to go about it. Moving her bag she set it on the ground. She bent down digging through the bag. She pulled out a small kit. Standing up she started to pick the lock. There was a click as she set the tools in the bag. She hoisted the bag and looked to Link.
"Toss the light." Autum explained as she pulled out her gun. She looked to Celtic who moved back against the wall out of the line of fire. Link moved to the other side of the door after he tossed the light. Pulling out his blade he readied himself.
Autum opened the door and moved with her gun ready, but no one. It was just another hall. Letting out a long breath she looked over to Celtic. "It's clear, but keep some distance from us." She explained as she headed inside.
Link looked to Celtic and then followed after Autum. He kept his sword out as he followed her. He stopped as his ears perked up. He went to say something as Autum stopped. Down the hall they could see light from an opening. They also could hear a couple of people talking.
Looking back at Celtic, Autum signed something to him. Bending down she set her bag on the ground so it wouldn't be a hinder. He backed up against a wall. He watched Autum head down the hall. Watching Link drop off his bigs and then head after Autum. Letting out a small sigh, he knew that there might be a fight soon. "Where are they going?"
Celtic looked down at Navi who was in his arms. He smiled weakly at her. "They are checking out ahead." He winced as she tried to move. "I want to see if I can stand." She looked at him, and gave him sad puppy dog eyes.
"Fine, fine…" Celtic spoke as he slowly lowered her so she could stand up. Navi grabbed his arm as she slowly stood up. She held onto his arm as she stood. Looking down the hall she frowned. "We should head down there. Come on." Navi looked back to Celtic.
"No we need to stay here." Celtic argued with her. He winced as she let go of him and started to walk down the hall. "Navi!" He grabbed her arm. "We wait, we both can hear from here. You are probably better than me. They both will be fine, they aren't going to rush into anything, ok."
Navi frowned and nodded. She leaned up against the wall when he let go. Her body still felt off, her eyes trailed her the seals on her arms. She didn't like the feeling they gave her. She couldn't imagine living years with them like Autum did. What more now both Celtic and Autum had seals on them from their wounds from the furies.
Autum slowly walked up to the opening. Large crates could be seen. She held up her hand at him. She darted over to the crates keeping her guard up. Slowly she walked to the edge of the crates, she cursed under her breath wishing she had more of her gear. She wouldn't have to peek out like this, but she would have to take the chance.
Taking a breath she slowly moved till she got a view of one of the people who was talking. Looked like a teen who was only 13 or so. He clearly had his mind in his conversation. Moving back out of the view. She glanced back at Link and headed down to the other side of the crates.
Link watched her from the door. Keeping his grip on his blade knowing she could call him at any minute. He winced as he watched her give him a sign. He slowly made his way over to the crates.
Autum walked up to him. "One your side… hold him hostage.." She explained. "On my signal." she spoke as she headed down to the other side of the crates. She held up her hand waiting. She was trying to prep herself on what she was going to do. There was still part of her that worried about Link especially they were heading into the unknown. They didn't know if these people would be allies or enemies.
Motioning her hand she ran out from behind the crates. The other person in the room was a kid who was about 16. She darted up to him. When he went to grab his gun, she grabbed his arm, twisting it back. He yelled out and she hit him hard in the back of his head.
Autum watched him hit the ground. Looking back at Link who had the younger one pinned up against the wall. She used her foot to kick away the gun that was next to the kid she knocked out. Walking up to Link.
Link had his blade up against the poor kid's neck. He didn't like the idea of this, this kid was so young. He glanced at Autum who walked up to them. Moving up she grabbed the kids gun taking a step back. She pulled out the clip tossing it to the ground.
"You two can come out." She snipped as she turned her attention to Link's hostage. The kid gulped and he was shaking. "I-I'll tell you anything. P-Please don't kill me." He stuttered trying to get the words out of his mouth.
Autum watched the kid, it was clear they probably just put him down here to be out of the way. They probably doubted this kid or the other one to see any action down here. "Good, we are going to ask you some questions, and expect you to answer them." Autum questioned him. "You can move you blade, I don't think he will try anything. If he does I'll put a bullet in his head." she glared at at the kid.
The kid nodded. When Link moved the blade, he slid down the wall. He whimpered some as he looked at his friend who was out cold on the ground. Looking to Autum who bent down in
in front of him. He looked down, he was going to die by these intruders.
"Who are you working for?" Autum spoke, her tone still serious. She knew even kids could lie, they were in a time of war. She watched his expression, it was clear he was a little relieved from the question.
"The queen." He piped up as he looked to Autum. He looked down from her cold expression. "Who do you fight against for your queen?"Autum continued her questions.
Link had stepped back putting up his blade. He listened to Autum and the kid, but his attention went to the door as Celtic walked out with Navi. Navi was using Celtic as a bit of a crutch. Though Celtic also now was carrying all of their bags as well. He smiled weakly at them.
It wasn't a question he was expecting. "A-a group of people came. T-they said they um, they wanted to aid the king into a golden age… And they did.. And they turned against the king and the princess became the queen. When that happened war broke out." He explained to her.
Autum listened, glancing to Link, knowing she needed to know a bit more information. "What is the name of your queen?" The kid glanced at Navi and Celtic. " Zelda." He looked back at Autum. It was an odd question, but these people looked like outsiders. Were there more coming to invade here? Or what was worse, were these some of the mercenaries that were coming off planet to here.
"Is the queen here.. In this barracks?" Autum snipped. The guard stared at her, he closed his eyes not wanting to say. He couldn't betray the queen right, they were all probably assassins to kill her! He had to stop them right.
Watching his body language she grabbed his walkie off of him. "You move, I have him shoot you." Autum nodded over to Celtic. "Get over here and watch him." She snipped at Celtic and then walked away with the walkie tapping it against her hand thinking what to say. Looking to Link. "Come here Blondie."
Celtic sighed as he dropped the bags he was stuck lugging around. Pulling out his gun with his free hand at the guard. Navi held onto his other arm to keep herself on her feet. She frowned somehow Autum was treating the poor youth. It was clear he was afraid.
Link clearly had his eyes locked on the kid. When Autum said that nickname he looked over to her. It had been a while since she called him that. Walking up to her he wasn't sure what she wanted. She had walked a bit away from the guard to keep their conversation as private as it could be.
"Does the name ring a bell, Zelda?" Autum asked him as she glanced back at the guard. Celtic walked up to the kid and lend up against the wall next to him. "Yeah… she was the princess." Link spoke up as he looked at her. It made him wonder how much time did pass here. He remembered meeting her a few years back, she was around his age.
"Is she trustworthy and the side we should be fighting on?" She quizzed him trying to figure out if this was the route they should go. Also did they really get that lucky to find the group of people they needed right off the bat, though it seemed they were on the losing end of the war.
Link stared at her, what type of question was that? "Oh Coarse!" Navi yelled as she stumbled up to them. Link grabbed her arm to keep her up on her feet. Navi looked to Autum and frowned. "She is the princess, and if she is the queen now, yes! She also is reborn to this world like the Hero is. " Navi informed Autum.
Glancing at the two, "Good. it Seems the fates are in our favor." Autum spoke up. Walking past the two she walked up to the poor kid. She bent down in front of him holding out his walkie talkie. "Tell whomever you report to, you have 4 mercenaries here. They want an audience with the queen. They have information on where the hero of legend has been over the years." She prompted him.
The kid looked at the walkie talkie. He bit his lip. "Say what I tell you and you won't end up dead." Autum spoke up watching him as he took it. He nodded as he slowly took it. Eyeing her, he pushed the button on the side.
"S-Sir, I-I.." He was shaking, he looked to Autum who clearly had her eyes locked on him. "I-I" He closed his eyes and took a breath, "I have mercenaries that want to speak with the queen. They have information on the missing hero." He opened his eyes, hoping that would appease Autum.
"We are coming to you." A low voice spoke up from the walkie. Autum reached out grabbing it. "No, you can meet us where the queen is. I'm sure our kind host can show us the way." she glanced at the kid as she replied.
Link stood as if he heard a ghost. He was shaking some from the voice that came over the walkie talkie. "Link? Are you ok?" Navi asked him as she held onto his arm. She watched him and then waved her free hand in front of his face. "Link!"
Link shook his head a little and looked at her. His heart was racing, he recognized the voice… from only the past lives. It was that man, the one who leads the evil, lifetime after lifetime, Ganondorf. Why did it sound like he was in charge of the guard watch? Was Zelda in danger with him here?! He didn't know what to do, so much running through his head.
Link jumped as he felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked to Celtic who was in front of him. "Are you ok?" He asked quietly, hoping that Autum was too distracted to notice. Link looked away, his ears low, not sure if he should say anything. The hyrule he knew, this didn't seem like the place any more.
"Link…." Navi tugged on his arm. Her attention went to Autum who walked up to them. "Come on, he's going to lead us to where the queen is. I'm sure once we get there, a horde of guards will be waiting. So, don't do anything stupid." She explained as she looked to the guard who slowly walked up to them.
Celtic looked at Autum and rolled his eyes. "I feel if anyone is going to do something stupid it's going to be you." He muttered under his breath. "You want to to say that outloud?" Autum snapped.
Celtic shook his head, grabbing his and Navi's bag. Hoisting them on his shoulder he walked up to the kid. He put his hands on his shoulder and started to guide him out of the room. "Just lead the way, and you won't have to face the wrath of our leader. As you can tell she is a bitch. Plus I'm sure there are going to be a large group of armed guards waiting for us, so you will be able to run to them to be safe." He chuckled some.
Autum glared at her husband as he walked out with the guard. "Ass.." she snipped under her breath. She looked back at Link, she could tell something was off. "You holding up?" questioned him, she needed to make sure he was okay.
Nodding a little he looked to Navi. "Can you walk?" Navi nodded. "Come on, let's hurry before somehow Celtic gets the guard lost." she spoke up as she walked over grabbing her bag. Grabbing Link's she tossed it to his feet. Moving her bag over her shoulder she followed after Celtic.
Link closed his eyes and took a breath. "You need to talk?" Navi asked. She watched him shake his head. "Come on." He spoke quietly as he bent down, grabbing his bag. Looking at her as he positioned it better on his back. Letting her use him as a crust he helped her out of the room. They were on their way to the queen… but also possibly Ganondorf could be waiting for them.
