Lonely nights separated by a few mere steps through the hallway were becoming increasingly more difficult for Angela and Tony. Goodnight kisses lingered longer and longer, discrete pats on the tush were more frequent and the sexual tension was becoming harder to control and more obvious to those around them. A few midnight strolls to the kitchen lead to more exploration and cold showers for Tony. It was almost becoming too much to bear when the perfect opportunity for them to get away for the night presented itself.
It had been a fairly, easy week at the agency for Angela and Mona. The swimsuit campaign wrapped with great success and Tony's school schedule has light being his last semester before graduation.
Returning home early, Wednesday afternoon, Mona announced unexpectedly to Angela that she would be taking the rest of the week off work to go to visit her brother Cornelius in New York.
"But Mother, we have work do!" Angela exclaimed in a furry.
"Oh dear, you don't need me there. The campaign is a wrap, I've been working overtime for you the last two weeks and frankly, I'm tired of seeing you and Tony melt all over each other every minute of the day, it's sickening. So, I'm going to New York and there's nothing you can do to make me stay." Mona replied dismissingly!
"Well!" Angela huffed, "So much for being supportive and caring about our relationship," she sneered.
"Oh please Angela, you know I love that you and Tony are FINALLY together," she emphasized "But, neither of you hardly know anyone else exists when you're together so what difference does it make if I'm here or not? So, I chose to not be here, and I'll be leaving in the morning!" She declared.
"Fine Mother, you just go ahead and go!" Angela spat. "Give my love to Uncle Cornelius."
That evening, Tony made a delicious lasagna with an antipasto salad to die for. As the family finished eating, Jonathan hesitantly asked,
"So, mom, there's this outing this weekend. Some friends of mine invited me to join them. It's kind of like a camp out, and I wanted to know if I could go?"
"Oh Jonathan, I don't know! A weekend camp out? Are there going to be chaperones? Any parents going? What friends?" Angela inquired.
"Yes mom, there will be chaperones, it's my friends from camp. You remember them? The guys! It is Tommy's birthday and he wanted to go camping so his dad and a couple other dads are going. Can I go? You know, I am almost 16!" He scolded.
"Well, if other dads are going, why don't you invite Tony? I'm sure he would love to go camping!"
Clearing his throat, Tony interjected, "Angela can I see you in the kitchen for a moment?"
"Tony, I think it would be fun, you boys haven't gone camping in a while!" Angela continued.
"Angela, kitchen!" Tony insisted, motioning his head towards the door.
Making their way into the kitchen, Angela turned to Tony and exclaimed, "What? Why don't you want to go camping with Jonathan?"
"Angela, you're putting him on the spot, I'm sure that if he wanted me to go camping with him, he would have asked me, besides, with him and Mona gone for the weekend, Sam has plans with Bonnie, this could be our chance to be alone, if you get my drift?"
"Uhhhh, I think I like the sound of that," Angela gushed. Stepping closer to Tony. "And just what might you have in mind?" She inquired.
"Well," Tony sighed, a devilish grin on his face, "That's for me to know and for you to find out." He leaned in and kissed her tenderly.
"I think I like the sound of that," Angela whispered.
Returning to the dining room, broad smiles covering their faces, Tony declared,
"You know Jonathan, as much as I would love to go camping with you, I've got a ton of homework this weekend and you need to enjoy some time with your friends. So what do you say buddy, we'll make plans to go camping some other time and your mom and I agreed that you're almost sixteen, we can trust you and want you to go and have fun!"
"Really?" Jonathan exclaimed, "Thanks Tony, thanks mom, you're the best!" Rising to give them both hugs, Jonathan excused himself to call Tommy and let him know the good news.
The next morning after Mona left for New York, Tony began preparations for his special night with Angela. Trying not to make the ultimate goal for the evening entirely obvious, Tony set out to make every aspect of the evening spectacular and memorable.
Digging deep into his pockets, Tony took every liberty his finances would allow to make it the perfect night for them. Attention to every detail was made, from the delivery of a new dress for Angela to wear to the pink roses that were to adorn the suite.
Tony and Angela were like two teenagers anxious about prom over the course of the next 48-hours. Despite various attempts to get the evening's plans out of him, Angela came up empty handed about what was in store for their special night.
First order of business, Tony had arranged for Angela's new dress to be delivered to her office, much to her surprise, with a note reading, "Meet me the Pulitzer Fountain, 6pm sharp, wear this! Can't wait to see you! Love, Tony.
Angela gushed as she opened the wardrobe bag containing a beautiful, deep blue, strapless dress that ruffled in the front, descending towards the ground in the back, along with an elegant pair of mid healed (Tony fretted when she wore high heels, causing her to be taller than him), silver pumps. Staring at the gown that now hung behind her office door, Angela began to be overcome with emotions at the thought of what lay ahead for her and Tony that night. Tonight, was finally the night that her dream of being in Tony's arms, the man she loved with all her heart, would finally come true. Grabbing her purse, she darted out of the office, on her own mission to make the evening special.
Meanwhile, back in Connecticut, Tony was busy putting the finishing touches of his plans in place and making sure Jonathan was set for his weekend camp out. Once Jonathan was gone, Tony loaded the Jeep and headed to Manhattan. His thoroughly crafted plan was now in motion.
