Link ran up to Autum and stopped as she pulled out a gun aiming at him. "Autum!" He yelled at her. "They said that you can come in, drugged." He held up the medical gun. He would have to figure out a plan to get Autum and Ganondorf, but that could wait.
Autum starred at the medical gun. This was a miscalculation, she only assumed that they wouldn't turn. She already offered this as an option. Unless, the damn blonde told them. He was going to surrender the triforce to them! She couldn't believe he would do that. Though he was more driven by his emotions than she was. They didn't see him as a threat and now would take him prisoner as well! They saw him nothing more than easy pickings.
Her eyes locked onto the medical gun, she couldn't do it. Aiming the gun her hands shook, she couldn't miss. She fired her gun at it, she couldn't risk getting shot by it. She hated the fact he didn't trust her plan, now it all was going to get complex. What more now it was only her and Link, she was going to have to fight him and pray she could hold out against him.
Link held his hand where she had shot him. He looked at the medical gun that was broken. "Why?!" Link looked back at her and screamed. He didn't want to kill her. He didn't want to fight her. He couldn't let what he just gave up for nothing.
Autum fired a shot at his feet; she wanted to snap him out of his hopes that she was going to come along nicely. Putting up the gun, she pulled out her blade and pointed it at him. "I'm going to take you down so you can't give up the triforce. So either you take me down for Navi or I toss you in a cell, me and Ganondorf will continue to free Hyrule." She snapped.
Link shook his head. Why didn't she just take the tranq? Wasn't Navi her friend!? He couldn't believe her, why was she fighting!? He winced as she charged at him. Link pulled out his blade to block her attack. Part of him didn't believe this was happening.
"Stop please Autum!" Link pleaded as he stepped back from her holding his blade tight. "We can get another med gun and another vial!" he pleaded with her.
"I will not back down, so fight." Autum snapped at him as she swung her blade again. She gritted her teeth as her blade hit his again. Pain rushed her body, she knew she would have to fight through it. She still had her injuries from her fight before.
Link dodged the blade and moved away. He got some distance between them. He was trying to sort this out. His heart racing, was she really going to let Navi get tortured? His heart tore as she said he betrayed Hyrule.
"Seems you are going to have to fight her. I recommend a blow to her leg." Lucas spoke up. "It would cripple her and allow you to subdue her. We can fix up the leg."
Link shuttered at the advice he gave, sadly it was good advice. He would have to do something to stop Autum. He tapped a bracelet on his wrist and a shield came up. He needed to subdue her and that was it. He couldn't hold back in this fight. Too much was on the line for it.
Autum watched as he brought up his shield. She had to prepare herself for this fight. Though her body was aching. She couldn't let him see the pain she was in. Running at him she had to calculate everything. She couldn't let him get the upper hand on her. If she did she would end up dead.
The two clashed blades back and both. With every attack Autum was slowing down. She was doing everything she could to keep up with the youth. She was trying to calculate his attacks to be able to block them, she was now on the defensive.
Autum let out a cry as he got her in her leg. She stumbled back and fell to one knee. Glaring at him, it was clear over the couple of years his skills had improved. With any advantage he clearly could beat her, which he clearly had. It ended a lot faster than she predicted.
"Autum… stop now." Link spoke up as he pointed his blade at her. He knew that he would be victor here. The question was how much was he going to have to do to take her down. He stood his ground. "I don't want to keep hurting you, but this is my win, Autum. You were clearly wounded from earlier. So let me tranq you and get your wounds treated."
Autum closed her eyes from the pain. She was panting hard from the pain she was fighting. She needed to think of a plan. She refused to be drugged, she couldn't. All her chances would be gone if he drugged her. Her plan would be ruined the moment he tranqed her. Her hand shook and she dropped the sword. She slowly pulled out the med gun she took and dropped it in front of herself. She was going to lure him in. She knew he was too trusting and she would have to abuse it.
Link smiled weakly, she surrendered. Looking back at the robot and sheathed his sword. He jogged up to Autum and bent down grabbing the med gun. He let out a cry as she shot him in the shoulder. He looked at her as she pointed her gun at his head.
Link did the first thing he could think of, he grabbed the gun trying to point it away from himself. He grabbed on with both hands as she was. "Autum STOP!" Link cried out. His shoulder was killing him, but she clearly was trying to subdue him or worse! He pushed hard as he pointed the gun down away from him. He jumped as the gun went off.
Link watched her hands let go of the gun. Looking at her, her chest was bleeding. "No! NO!" he screamed. She slumped to the ground not moving. Link dropped the gun moving to her. "AUTUM! No.. No.." he shook his head. "Please no.."
Autum looked at him as she gasped. Her body shaking she slowly put her hand on his cheek. The pain surged through her body, she wanted to say something, but she could feel every little bit of strength she had leaving her body. She wanted to tell him to save Navi. She wanted to tell him, he was walking into a trap, they knew he had the triforce. Call him a rayeu for giving up the triforce. They would surely just take him as well. Tears ran down her cheeks, she wanted to warn him.
Link grabbed her hand and held it. "W-why… why didn't you get tranqed.." he whimpered. He could feel her arm go limp. "A-Autum?" He hugged her tight, crying. This wasn't how it was supposed to go. She was his mentor, his friend and he just killed her.
"Shot to the heart, very nice." Kandin chuckled. "At least it's a fast death." she mocked him.
"No pulse… brain oxygen almost gone." Lucas spouted out her stats as Link held her crying.
What plan did she have? Did she change her plan because he offered up the triforce? It was his decision that caused her death. He held her tight, he didn't want her gone.
"W-why." A small voice piped up. "You killed her! She was saving us all!" Kira screamed at Link. She had flown back when she heard the gunshots. She made it to watch the two fighting over the gun. "Murderer!" she screamed.
Link looked up slowly at Kira. He started to hear chatter. He looked at the houses as rito started to come out. His ears went low, they all witnessed him killing her. His body shaking from what he had done.
"Not much of a hero anymore are you? They all saw Autum fighting with the rebels, fighting off the evil lizard people. Yet you just slayed their hero. Get up.. We want her body and the demons… they are worth something even dead." Kandin spoke up.
Link stared at the robot. They wanted their bodies?! Just to sell! His heart wrenched at the thought of it. Autum at least deserved a proper burial. It would be the last thing he could for her. He looked back at Autum, what would Navi and Celtic think of him?
Link looked over as a bike drove up to him. "Place her body on there. We don't want the natives to get riled up now. I would also scare off the little rito. Do it now or I wake Navi." Kandin threatened.
Link looked at her sword, slowly grabbing it and putting it back into her sheath. Whimpering as he slowly hoisted Autum up on his shoulder. He slowly moved her onto the bike. Looking at her lifeless body, trying to pull up any strength he had mentally. Reaching down he grabbed the gun pointing it at Kira, "Back off. G-go tell the others, the rito city is free." his voice cracked.
"Link!" Ollin yelled out as he ran up panting behind Kira. He looked at Autum who wasn't moving on the bike. What the hell did he do? Link was covered in blood, now pointing his gun at Kira.
Link stared at Ollin. He could see Basil run up next to him. He could feel himself trembling, what could he say to him. He knew that Lucas and Kadin were still running this show. He had to get them out of the picture. He couldn't let any more lives be lost because of them. He needed to harden his emotions like Autum would. He couldn't let them defeat him right now.
Link moved the gun at Ollin. "You will secure this city, got it!" he snapped at him. "I'm leaving all of this in your hands." he prayed that they would do what he told them. He was doing everything in his power not to fall now. He was the only one now.
"Follow me.." Link spoke quietly as he looked at the robot as he started to head back to the building. He knew he now needed to get Ganondorf and Celtic. He also hoped they would let him tend to his shoulder as well. He moved his hand slowly to his shoulder looking at the blood. He knew he needed to get cleaned up from Autum's blood. He could feel it starting to burn his hands.
Ollin went to chase after Link but Basil grabbed his arm. "He is on his own path. You can see the pain in his eyes. That robot is Lucas' it's clear they are controlling his actions. Though, he has given us the chance to free this city and we need to take it." Basil spoke up.
Ollin looked back at Basil. He could see his friend in pain. He wanted to help Link. There was also the fact they knew Autum was Celtic's wife. How was he going to react to what Link had done? He looked at Kira who collapsed to her knees crying. He watched Basil go to comfort the child.
Link slowly walked to the building. He could hear the rito talking about him. He could hear murderer and killer tossed about. He glanced at the bike that was riding next to him. He looked away, he couldn't look at her any more.
"Head inside, I already got the other bikes inside." Lucas instructed him. He followed Link down the hall up to Ganondorf. "Shackle him, from the design of the bikes you should be able to put him onto the bike securely so when he wakes up. We have a bit of a drive and rather not have him wake up and try to escape."
Link looked up at the robot and then to the bike. It still had Autum's bag hooked to it. He reached over digging into it pulling out shackles. He was told to toss the gun in there as well. He did everything they instructed him to do. He was trying to drown everything that happened. He didn't want to face the fact that Autum was gone. Not yet, he needed to save Navi first. Then he would deal with all the consequences of his actions.
They allowed him to clean his wound and clean up some. He grabbed a blue tunic he had tossing it on. His heart was heavy and he was pushing through this. He couldn't let Autum's death be for nothing.
They had him load up Celtic's body and head outside. The rito were waiting for him there, though Kandin dealt with them, her voice alone was enough to scare them away. Lucas guided him to Autum's bike where Lucas hacked into the bike, so Link didn't have to navigate. Link got onto the bike knowing he had time to think things over as he had a bit of a drive now.
The ride felt like eternity as he drowned in his own guilt and grief. He tried to figure out what he would tell Celtic, but nothing ever came. He didn't have words to express to his friend that he killed Autum. He feared for how Navi would react, would she hate him?
There was also the issue he said he would give the triforce. He didn't even know how, though he was sure that they did. They took the triforce pieces from Zelda and Ganondorf. He looked at the bike next to him where Ganondrof was. Link looked away, he was awake, he really didn't want to get his attention.
Link knew he had to come up with some plan to get him free. He had to fix all of this, but how? They had Navi, one wrong move she would be tortured. He closed his eyes, he was supposed to be a hero yet here he killed Autum, shot Celtic execution style, handed over Ganondorf as a prisoner, offered up the triforce all for what, Navi? He couldn't even call himself a hero any more.
Link snapped out of it as the bike stopped. He hadn't been paying attention; he was too lost in his own thoughts. They were parked on top of a plateau. He slowly got off of his bike looking out.
"Some hero you turned out to be." Ganondorf snapped as he tugged at the shackles that were locked onto the bike. "You killed both of your friends! No hero would do that!" he yelled. He never expected Link to be the one who turned his back on Hyrule. His bets were on Autum. "People feared me to be the plague that would destroy Hyrule, yet it ended up being you!"
Link shuddered as he heard Ganondorf yell at him. He couldn't even look at him. He couldn't face him. He was right, no hero would. No, he hadn't destroyed Hyrule yet. He could still save it! He closed his eyes trying to get his composure. He needed a plan.
"Ah your ride is here." Kandin sang out from the robot. Link looked up seeing a massive airship come from the clouds to meet them. He stepped back from the edge as it slowly lowered down to meet the edge of the plateau. "Go on the deck.."
Link looked back at the bikes and shook his head. He slowly walked onto the deck. His attention went up to Kandin who was on the 2nd floor balcony looking down at him. His ears went low as he stopped in the middle of the deck.
Lucas walked out of the room uptop, stretching. He had shaggy blonde hair. A pair of goggles rested around his neck. He had on a red tank top and blue cargo pants. He leant over the railing looking at his prizes next to Kandin. Once all the bikes were on he tapped the side of his temple. "Lock and loaded." he spoke as the air ship started to gain altitude.
Link looked over at the plateau as they started to fly away from it. Fear started to hit him, he was going to be taken prisoner as well. He looked up at the two. "Where is Navi!?" he demanded. "You said you would free her!"
"Your part of the deal isn't done, you said you would hand over the triforce." Kandin spoke as she smirked at him,
"That isn't part of the deal anymore! Autum is dead!" Link snapped.
Kandin laughed. "That was your own fault. You should have used your words better to convince her. Though she seemed to be just too stubborn. Then again you did offer up the triforce for her life."
Link backed up. He didn't think any of this through. He looked back at Ganondrof who had a death glare at Link. He had to do something. He pulled out his blade pointing at the two of them.
"Put up your blade" Barked Kandin. "You really want to play this game?" She questioned him. They had all the cards and he was outnumbered. She looked at Lucas as he walked over to a small robot that floated up to him.
On the robot was what looked like to be a small bird cage that was covered in a type of glass. He picked it holding it over the railing so Link could see it. "Navi.." Lucas spoke up as he saw her stir. "Your little hero is here trying to save you." he spoke quietly.
Navi groaned as she opened her eyes. Her ears twitched as she heard an unfamiliar voice say her name. She looked over at him as he spoke about Link. Her ears went slow as she backed up. She didn't recognize him, a stranger. Clearly an outsider, was she captured? She looked around, she was in a cage. She recognized it, it was a Rehgi jar. Her heart sank, she couldn't teleport even if she wanted to .
"Look out" Lucas spoke up as he pointed. "There he is… take a good look. He did so much to save you." he spoke quietly.
Navi bit her lip. She slowly got to her feet looking out of her cage. She put her hands up against the glass as she looked at Link. Her eyes darted looking for the overs. She covered her mouth gasping. They were unconscious right? "L-Link." Navi whimpered. Why would he bring them here? She looked at Ganondorf, he was shackled. What was going on?!
Kandin smirked seeing Navi. "Surrender now or the first thing I'm going to do is cut off her oxygen supply. From there we wait till she is about to pass out and then I start breaking limbs."
Navi looked over at the woman. She backed away from the side of the cage that was near her. She had to be Kandin, this was the woman who did the horrible things to the rito. She shook her head, they were supposed to get her. What more it looked like she teamed up with someone else.
Link stared at the cage. He didn't know what to do. He wished Autum was here telling him what to do. He couldn't watch them torture Navi. He already knew Kandin was cruel enough to do it. He closed his eyes as he heard the sword clang against the ground.
Navi watched him surrender his blade. She shook her hand and banged against the glass. She shook her head as she whined, why was he giving up. She would be ok. She looked at a couple of robots going up behind Link "Behind you Link!" she screamed out.
"Behind you!" Ganondorf yelled out. He gritted his teeth as Link screamed out in pain as it shocked him in the back by a robot. Ganondorf pulled at his shackles, he couldn't go down without a fight. He cursed under his breath, no use. He looked to Link who hit the ground out cold.
Ganondorf looked at the fallen hero. Slowly he looked to the two that were dead. All hopes of saving Hyrule was gone. He was sure it would only take so much time before they retook Death Mountain and the Rito city. Then there was the fact, they just got the last piece of the triforce. Hyrule had fallen, because the hero couldn't allow one sacrifice. Instead he would end up losing everything.
