After school, I was at home doing homework. Carlos was with me doing his.

"I'm having my first sleepover this weekend with my friends," said Carlos.

"That's good," I said.

"I'm looking forward to it," said Carlos. "I'll be using the attic."

"Makes sense. You know, we can use the family basement as well," I said. "When are they coming over?"

"Friday since we have church on Sundays," said Carlos.

"Good idea," I said. "Dad and Sharon don't usually have plans unless they tell us. Dad have a meeting and I think Sharon have to be working late that day."

"True," said Carlos. "I got the schedule. I would like you to attend my home games or whenever I'm playing against your school."

"Sure," I said.

He went to get the schedule and showed it to me.

"Most basketball games are either after school or at night," said Carlos. "My friends always come see me to cheer me on."

"Good idea," I said. "I won't assign myself on any sitting jobs. I leave afternoon ones to Mallory and Jessi since that's all they can do."

"It's okay if you can't," said Carlos.

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"Positive," said Carlos.

"I usually see Logan's as well," I said.

"I only have practice on Monday after school," said Carlos.

"Okay," I said.

"I have to baby-sit that night," said Dawn.

"The only thing is that I have a game at six-thirty pm. My friends are coming back here with me for the sleepover," said Carlos.

"Oh, yeah, I remember that," I said. "Where is that located this time?"

"At Stoneybrook Day School," said Carlos.

"I can see if I can get a ride with Charlie and Kristy to bring me there after the club meeting. It ends at six pm," I said.

"Okay," said Carlos. "We'll be taking a bus back over there after the game. Take your time. My game don't always start on time anyway."

"Fine," I said. "And, we can have pizza when we come back here as a treat."

"Good idea," said Carlos.

Later, I texted Kristy to make arrangements and said Charlie us fine to take both of us after the meeting. On Friday, I was at the game after the club meeting ended. Kristy decided to join in. Carlos had no issue with that.

After the game finished, Carlos' team won by 5 points. That was a close game. Kristy's brother took her home while I had permission to take the bus with Carlos and his friends. At home, I said, "I'm going to order pizza to celebrate."

"Sounds good," said a friend, Mason.

That's what I did.

Carlos told me that Mason's new to the orphanage after his parents died last year. His mom had cancer and his father was killed in a car accident shortly after that. The pizza came before nine-thirty pm. They had a fun time. They were all tired and went to bed before ten pm. They choose to sleep in the attic. It had enough room. Sharon came home from work afterwards. She had just picked up Dawn at the time and Dad got home from the meeting before ten-thirty pm.

"Carlos' team won," I said.

"That's a good thing," said Dad.

"They had a fun time and went to bed thirty minutes ago," I said.

I went to bed at eleven pm. I'm glad that Carlos is happy with my family. He feels that his family is still alive-only he'd have an extra sister, which is me. He had no trouble to fit in.
