The Fortunate Ones
Chapter NineTeen: Call your Heroes
What it means to be the son of a wolf
Russia (Cathedral of Christ The Saviour - Moscow)
(Author's POV)
From all around there was piled in the blood stained snow. Mixtures between human, devil and fallen angel alike. The carnage did not discriminate. From what was a battlefield, it was merely only one on a global scale. Yet here held a special place to the said attacking force.
From the Russian military forces in the area, they seemed to be holding off considerably well against demonic forces with many of the demons and devils falling from the skies and being forced to their knees do to the fact it was a holy sanctuary. The fallen angels however were not affected and used their current allies as bait for luring a large amount of fire off from them.
Do to the sheer size and might of the Russian military, even a large invading army consisting of these forces was held back respectfully well. When some angels from heaven showed up to the chapel, news spread straight to the current officer in charge of that area that help was here, and how to start organizing forces.
Off in a good amount of distance, angels Luke and Emilia brought the fight to the fallen angels and demons alike, killing anyone who dared trespass in their domain. Words were sent around and around, none of which were worth repeating as it all came from dead men. The two siblings were sent here as it was part of their mother's home, thus making it their territory. To say they were wrathful was an understatement. The two of them personally ripped a huge hole in the enemy's assault, not caring for the carnage they dare left behind as their entire family was known for- their blood lust and desire for battle was inherited ten-fold.
They went around, tossing enemies at one another as if it were sport. From beheading to being cut in half, the siblings showed no remorse. Their foes that gathered what they could to stand against them could hardly put any time into a plan as they kept cycling out numbers. With their forces spread on a global scale along with both heaven and hell, their insurgent groups were the first lines of offense they had. As long as their boss kept the gates of Hell opened, reinforcements were sent where needed the most.
Surprisingly, the humans that were part of the Heroes' faction already lost their ground in all of Russia, being forced to remain only in the America's, Great Britain, France and currently the south of Japan. No doubt thanks to Emilia and Luke's efforts, Russia was going to survive another day, all they had to do was keep up their efforts and close the portals in the region so no more reinforcements could arrive.
X_X United States- Nevada
At a local Air Force base, jets were flying in and out, constantly re-arming and refueling. Devils and Fallen angels swept in early in the morning, knocking a few recon posts out and catching many of the airmen off guard. Most of the military police were running around gathering intel whilst locking down key points. Luckily most of their COMBAS towers were still up, so they got their word out which got instant responses from other bases along with the pentagon. The chain of command relayed the same orders to them as they did most of the bases world wide: Repel the hostile threat.
With no clearier orders needed to be sent, US troops all around the world gave their enemies from Hell, literal hell. Just like in Russia, many religious establishments and chapels were being protected by angels, yet only a handful at each location as even Heaven was still being attacked itself. For the most part the Navy over in the middle of the seas were ignored.
The overconfidence of the hostile forces quickly lead from a stab wound to a revengeful force of might which many nations militaries have shown over centuries. America being not any surprise victim of such attacks- rose to the occasion and led a fight which left no remorse for the devils, demons and fallen angels alike. When dragons began attacking cities, heavy armor units and air support came quickly. Local police and state troopers didn't give up and relayed what they could to the Military which much to the public's surprise, everyone today was a patriot and taking up arms against the invaders.
Many Americans took up arms and sang with glee, knowing full well that this is the best opportunity they will ever get at taking full advantage of their 2nd amendment. Schools closed and locked down, along with hospitals and religious sanctuaries. Those that stood with the Heroes faction here used their numbers to hunt down some insurgent groups but were met with resistance as their betrayal of the nation was unforgivable.
Large cities such as Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Jersey City, Huston and a few others were spawn points for the portals which as for the military had no idea how to remove and as angels began to descend to officials and officers to spread the intel around, they just kept their guns up and fired at anything that wanted to kill them.
Nations just like this one all around the world were fighting, many of which sadly could not hold their ground as much as the largest super powers, but with great loss and tragic events, were given the ultimate test. Prayers now more than ever before in the history of man flooded heaven which instead of being ridiculous and lustful as most maybe, this time it was down to just a few handful. Their wills and wishes summed up all had this in common; repel the demons and protect our world.
This single wish and the will power behind it gave Michael the Archangel more than enough strength to completely shut the gates on the devils and fallen angels and personally guide his soldiers through another war. With his siblings standing by his side, they took off to the human world and began their cleansing. Gone was his calm and cool demeanor, replaced by righteous might and Holy fury. Being the mightiest of all the angels, he personally saw to it that he'd leave absolutely no survivors.
The angels went around slaying their foes, and healing who they could safe. Heading to the lead Heroes' faction headquarters, Michael, Mikal, and Sincere began manhandling the humans who even brought some fallen gods to their side. Everything that stood before them be it man, god or devil, perished before their unrelenting force. Noticing a few gods and devils that should've been dead already, the three archangels felt disgusted with the sloppy seconds. Some of which happened to be old friends that had long since passed.
Using their weapons at their sides, they killed those they dare called friends and didn't care about the land or if the harmed anyone as everyone there had signed their wills the moment they betrayed heaven.
X_X Great Britain- Camelot
In the royal ports, most of the royal fleet was sinking, or on fire.
Their military might lacked in comparison to their neighbors, minus their fleet which now was dying. Holding off as best they could, even with the reinforcements from heaven, London was burning and the bridge already collapsed. Big Ben had fallen and the castle was ripped to the core.
They were spared no remorse nor quarter. The small island nation was having every major city attacked, hundreds of humans died within just a few minutes of the attacks. The reaction time of their armed forces could not be any worse, as nearly half their armories around the nation were destroyed with ease. The only area in the nation nearly ignored happened to be their folklore state which their nation was first united under one flag in. Camelot stood strong as the few hundred locals barricaded themselves within their homes while the old castle was armed up for defense against the would be invaders. All courtesy of a patrol unit who came ashore and loaded up base with a few well mounted positions.
As expected, they soon were under attack as devils and demons alike came from the brink and begun their seemingly endless assault. The old castle held up extremely well, the gun mounts ripping the sky apart with lead. This started to bring the foes to the ground who were met with some short springed mines and resistance from firearms. Lower level grunts however were the only ones attacking, so when a larger player entered the field the defenses were worthless. Fallen Angels sent in light attacks, blowing large holes in the structure along with destroying the gun nests.
With the major threat in their area dealt with, they followed their foot soldiers into the fray, still dealing with fire from the remaining soldiers inside. The amount of vulgar language going on from the fallen angels who couldn't believe how worthless their grunts were was immense. Humans holding them back to this degree didn't make sense.
Just as the human line seemed to be faulting, reinforcements arrived in the form of a guiding hand. Two lone knights stood out among the common people and soldiers, holding the throne room from the devils, demons and the commanding fallen angels. Despite the obvious fact they were protecting the humans upon their sudden arrival, the military turned their guns on them which only caused major delay. Conflict swore higher and many more lives were to be lost because of the failure to adjust to the situation at hand.
Cursing to themselves, the knights began pushing the humans out of their way. Holding nothing back, they began to surprise the demons and fallen angels alike. Their weapons of choice, both swords which held enough power within to easily kill some dragons. One of the older Fallen angels took notice of their armor and swordsmanship and couldn't believe this.
Right in front of them were two of the most admired and well trained knights of the round.
Him spilling the info to his colleagues sent shivers down their spines as they panicked. Not giving any thought to their grunts' well-being, they released their attacks inside and at the knights. Killing some of their own with the lightning bolts, it was without doubt that the knights once human all those centuries ago once more turned to ash. The Fallen angels roared in cheer. They believed they won as their forces came to yet another hault. Smoke that covered the area cleared up instantly, revealing the two knights without so much as a dent in their armor.
Their emotionless faceplates betrayed their temper as underneath their masks, the pendragons wanted blood.
As they began taking their steps forward the grunts either began to back away in fear or do the same just putting up some defense as they unleashed their attacks in a final desperate attempt to prolong their lives. All ended in futile, no one was spared as a single swing of the blades took their lives. The knights continued tanking the damage while exterminating their foes.
The fallen angels began to back out of the castle, screwing their objective which lay within the castle in fear of their own lives. Once more futile as by now even more reinforcements this time from heaven were dispatched to deal with the infection. Once the angels arrived, all sights of the two knights were gone. They disappeared and no one knew where they went.
X_X HELL- Gates of Tartaros ( Unknown location ?)
(Still Author's POV)
Vindel was boxing around the pits amongst thousands of his own people. From dragons, fallen angels, demons to devils. All took up arms against the fallen prince and he wasn't giving any ground. Despite still having his wrists chained, he proceeded to knock a head off a devil that came for his own head, screaming all the way as his head burned into flames.
"If only I could get out of this collar!" He grunted as he received a roundhouse to the back of the head.
Pairs of two kept coming back at him, each falling like the rest before and after them. The chains zapped his strength even further in his weakened state, giving them plenty of opportunities to get back at him without being all wiped out. He was their prey, however he wasn't going to just sit there and take it. He fought back more than they'd believe he should've been able to.
Constant waves, unabating reples. Before he knew it, one of the fallen angels managed to break his chains, allowing him free movement. Complete and unrestricted movement. He became overjoyed as he knew despite his major defect in strength and power, he now had nothing holding him down. His movements sped up, his strikes became solid without error. His smile was replaced shortly with a blank stare. His emotional state was vacant. His humanoid body continued to get cut up, at a rate he couldn't possibly stop now.
He was too weak to go into his dragonknight form, nor did he have the strength to harden up his skin so scale could form. Once more he was on the losing side of an onslaught. The scar around his neck ached and burned at the memory. This would continue without any doubt, and his only hope was that someone would get this collar off his neck.
Anger was what drove him. He wanted all these traitorous bastards to learn why he stood above them all.
"You're seriously fucked!" A laughing demon came from behind and went for a jab at his weak spot, only to receive a back hand which imploded his entire body into paste.
A dragon this time around went to munch on Vindel just to get his lower jaw ripped from his head. Vindel conducted his assault on the dragon as he ripped its wings off before tossing them away like trash. The dragon wept tears as it died yet again from the pain, surely to be back up again in this hell hole. Death mattered not for this army, as they were already dead, so long as they were here, they'll be constantly reanimated fresh as new. Now if Vindel had his entire strength back, he'd just destroy this floor of hell and there'd be no coming back for any of them.
However that wasn't possible currently, and he knew it. The more he slaughtered, the more came back with laughter and joy. This was fun to them, and be damned Vindel was enjoying the blood on his hands. It was in their nature to be bloodthirsty for combat and killing. At least for the dragons and those of the fallen angel blood. Being of both, Vindel had no shortage of desire to kill them all.
Jumping high into the air he constantly sent smooth punches at his enemies, barely using any magic or any of the flames his bloodline was famous for. It was all pure strength. His will power to crush his opponents, to have them break at his heel for their great betrayal.
A large amount of demons seemed to get off on the site of their comrades dying over again, and waited for their moment to step in. Without losing any sense of heat, they rushed Vindel while he had his arms and legs grasped back. The demon on his back brought out his teeth ready to dig his teeth into his prey's flesh. As expected Vindel smirked the moment his entire jaw broke trying to pierce his flesh.
"Oh? You forgot who you were messing with!" He moved his head slightly and reversed headbutted the fool, breaking his skull instantly. "Now the rest of ya," He started to warm up his body to the point bluish-black flames erupted from his body engulfing those who were touching him. "Better luck next time!" He flexed as his sore muscles made quick snaps and devoured the flames from the now charred corpses that fell from the sky.
Soon some familiar old faces arrived that despite how he was feeling about putting down these traitors, gave him second thoughts. Their armor was clear as can be, the armor of the royal guard. Like the cerberus squad, these were fallen angels who could do some serious damage. Some old guys with their blades sheathed, and a few females that were around Vindel's age when they passed on.
In total from who was to be seen, over fourteen of the royal guard stood before him. Their eyes locked onto his form, not batting away as the rest of what appeared to be an endless army gave them some room. Demons and dragons alike formed a perimeter around them. Vindel slowly shaked his hands from the dripping blood of his previous foe and stood as tall as he currently could. His hair a mess, his eyes covered in blood from the enemy.
"Soo… You're here as well... ? I should've figured everyone was going to be here."
"My lord-" a few of them called out, still showing some feelings for their master. They held back as they knew this man as their prince. Be that he passed long ago before they died, seeing him alive was sending many fixed feelings. Some of the younger ones remembered their friend, he was so different from the others and always a blast. Despite his title and bloodline, he treated them fairly and loved them. One of the female fallen came close to him, her blade at her side not yet drawn. She admired the male, looking him over and seeing his scare laid form. Her eyes locked to the cut around his neck, where he was beheaded. She gritted her teeth as she bowed her head before him, not being able to raise her weapon at him.
Vindel knew this one well, an old friend who used to study and go to the council meetings with him, being one of the few fallen angels who got very close to him, mainly because they are of the same age. Her name was Seraphina. Her shortcut jet balck hair with blonde tips fit her normal gothic attitude and perfect physique. Looking at how much she had grown, her hairstyle for one no longer being long showed him just how much he missed out on. Now she had another pair of wings totalling eight wings. It hurt seeing how much he truly missed out on, she was someone he'd consider a previous love canidate, a mate for sure if he managed the courage to just ask her. How twisted his life had become to bear witness to this emotional attack.
Every fallen angel that now stood before him, died after his demise. Each one of them were important figures in his life: from being close friends, mentors and on some occasions sparring partners. Hielos was going to pay for this greatly, that Vindel swore. He made a heavy sigh, gaining the female's attention.
"Raise your head." He requested, she did as he asked. "Awwh yes, those eyes." Her hetero-chromatic eyes, one being Royal gold and the other a deep purple, met his.
"I missed you all so much that I can't find more words to say about it." Vindel let out another sigh. "I don't think I could hold hatred towards you." He backed away more so, walking on top of the dragon he just killed which they were gathered around.
Looking down around, more of the royal guard began to show up, more personal friends to the prince. Each one of them had the royal family mark on their shoulder, clear in red contrast to their dark black armor. Their raven colored wings ranged out from one to four pairs. No one there among them was weak, and he was proud to know that.
"With you all here, I'm sorry for what it's worth. You who stand around me, my royal guards… I have nothing but respect and fond memories of."
They said nothing, the others behind them getting restless as they couldn't care about their enemy's speech. He might've been the prince to them at one point, but now he was a bastardized fool who needed to get ripped apart.
"I will welcome your challenge. Come at me as you will. I will fight you in the honor of your memory." He made a pose, gesturing for them to come at him.
The older grey-haired ones leaped at him, their eyes betraying their current emotions. They had no qualms with him, he was dead long before his father's actions turned the people against the royal family. As the hype he gave them was well deserved, it didn't change the fact they couldn't even begin to hold their own against him. Every strike made was countered and returned as though it was all rehearsed.
Grabbing a sword swung at him, he disarmed his assailant and threw said blade at an incoming foe. The blade was knocked to the side with much practice, however the new foe was left open which was all part of Vindels plan. With a slight mock and leaning back, he grabbed hold of the man and bent him backwards, breaking his back over his knee. He then kicked him into the fallen angel who lost their sword in the first place and in no ways kindly- began ripping their wings from their back.
Raven colored feathers filled the field of view, which some of the lesser fallen angels took as their chance to enter the ring. This quickly became popular among the lower ranks, however Vindel wasn't having any of it. The royal guard deserved respect and an honorable fight. Painfully, Vindel called forth some light swords from his collection and had them impale the crowd.
What seemed as an over hyped battle was far from it, the beings being tossed around weren't slackers to any degree, hence why they were there in the first place. As no one had much of a choice but to fight the prince, he figured he had to keep them at bay for as long as he could. Hopefully his strength would begin to return or someone came to his aide.
X_X HELL- Unknown location (With Dante, Sarah, Elle, Astrea)
Dante walked through a bunch of corpses that began to burn away. His eyes hold no sign of regret nor that of emotion. Behind him was Sarah and Elle, the two of which had blood over their helms from the dragon corpses they had consumed. Being in their dragonknight forms, their metal armor dripped with the blood of the countless foes they had slaughtered in the past few hours of their war. Their nature was on full display, and there were no strings attached.
Astrea was busy in the sky above them, currently crushing a devil's head within her palm as a demon was having issues using her magic to freeze the dragoness. She crushed the head like a bubble and turned to face the female demon. Her features weren't worth writing home about, and Astrea was quite hungry like her siblings.
A muffled scream was heard before being silenced forever, the demon's headless body falling to the ground with a splat. Astrea came to the ground next to her sisters who began to make their way behind Dante. The four siblings continued their path forward, finding a direct link to a yokai branched system. From what they gathered quickly, this was one of the yokai groups that turned against the SINS, against them.
Demons, devils and fallen angels gathered around and were fighting one another. Some yokai in a much lesser number remained as onlookers. Sarah raised her palm, a sphere began to form, slowly growing in size till growing rapidly as it came rushing at the yokai. Before any of the foes below could get a chance to see the attack, they were sent to oblivion. Seems they had issues getting along which wouldn't have made a difference at this point. All who stood in the path of the SINS were as good as dead…
The dragonesses began their full on assault as Dante headed to the gate to the yokai dimension. Raising his hand above, he pulled down on the gate as it began to break, its gate way image went clear and cracked. It broke into nothing as the rest collapsed in on itself. With the gate closed to their world from here, Dante turned to an incoming fireball which engulfed his huge form. More attacks came his way, each hitting their target without remorse. None of it did a single thing to harm him, however he was not going to return such a weak farce.
He began to walk side to side as he slowly built up speed to impale his attackers. For the ones on the ground, they couldn't even run fast enough to get away from his claws. Those in the sky kept raining down their attacks, not caring for their allies below who got in the way or were simply hopeless.
Coming to a stroming halt, Dante turned to face a devil like a machine. His slow and menacing- no murderous aura froze the devil in their place as fear kept him locked up. He screamed as he could see his end coming, but couldn't even get his body to move. Dante jumped from his place on the ground and punched a hole through the devil, rather due to the size of his arm and armor, removed his body from his neck down, the limbs falling loosely no longer connected to any body.
Dante then turned to face the growing crowd of foes below and all around him. Putting his arms together, he began to spin rapidly like a tornado and flew right through the fools that got in his sight. From the ground to the sky, he went right through them, not leaving a single one to get away. Once he broke his attack, explosions ranged through all those he ripped apart as the battlefield lit up like a furnace.
Seeing what their brother did, the girls quickly mirrored his attack and ripped through their own sections. Not a single soul was left of their enemy, and now they made their way towards another level of Hell. They sighted a few specters of Hades ahead, signalling them to their position. They headed right to them and landed.
"We've cut off access to this level, only two more from here. We'll keep this one locked up till ordered by Hades himself otherwise." A specter that resembled a hammerhead shark said.
"We appreciate it, any word on Kagaho?" Elle asked, wondering how the strongest of specters was fairing.
"Lord Kagaho has already made his way to what we believe is the enemy fortress." the same specter answered.
"He seemed rather confinedant with his choice of going alone. That brother of mine sure has a taste for excitement." Nico said as he looked them over. "I bet he's already found Vindel at this rate, the damn guy really cares for your brother you know."
"Well they did say they were close. But besides that, have you seen anyone else?" Sarah asked as she turned to look at the younger son of Hades.
"No one else came by yet besides your four. Those that weren't welcome tried to get in the way.., were kindly thrown into the well of souls." Nico smiled as he took great glee in the fact he had access to his father's favorite toy. "Sorry, it's been awhile since I was able to feed her with so many souls of devils, and demons."
"Rare you make it sound like..?"
"Yeah, haven't had any qualms with demons or devils for a while, so she was very happy with the fine treat."
The usual small chatter went on for about five minutes till they continued forward. As Dante and co. were heading through, a large explosion which brought Nico to laughter happened not far off. His smile and joy was very clear.
"Oh I can't wait to add a giant skeleton beast such as yourself to my kill count." He said slowly standing up straight and up at a towering skeleton figure.
"What are you…? Somewhat snake like, but with arms?"
"It's a Simp my lord."
"Never heard of them."
"They're yokai that have fallen to their version of purgatory, having all their flesh removed from their bodies. They tend to spend and sell themselves away to another but get nothing in return. Some pending on size happen to be rather intelligent, which is rather ironic because they didn't stop themselves getting this far." The Hammerhead Specter said as he pulled out a weapon with a chain. "If you don't mind, I got a personal grudge against these types of Yokai."
Nico was more than happy to see what the Yokai was capable of- screaming that is. He allowed his companion the right to fight and slay the beast.
A golden ring formed in the middle of the mouth of the Simp, a power attack of sorts which shot out towards Nico. The pure beam of golden light was absorbed by the Shark specter's hand, and then redirected back at the beast.
"You dare make a move on the master while I'm your opponent?!" He lunged at the beast and began beating it to dust.
Nico laughed while the show went on, and the remaining specters just turned their heads from the now crying beast. It just goes to show that even though the SINS are all powerful, they're not the only ones with the right to make such claims. Good thing Vader considered Hades and Athena like blood-siblings, Zeus included despite him never being around.
X_X HELL- Lower level of Purgatory (With Dante, Sarah, Elle, Astrea)
After coming on through the gateway that the specters had covered for them, Dante and co., started to walk around taking things in. As expected from these new levels of Hell, another well of chaos stayed out through all the skies and ground. Skeletons mixed with other corpses being consumed by large beasts were spread out and boundless in numbers.
Elle had no issue with her surroundings as she had a rather calm and wondering look under her helmet. Her thousand yard stare grabbed the attention of her older sister Sarah who waved in front of her face, getting her to snap out of it.
"I-I wonder if it's weird that I have no worries or any sign of disgust to what I'm seeing."
"I don't think so, I for one also don't feel any disgust towards this land."
"I assume because we've finally passed through our human selves… War changes us all, and it seems we all feel the same."
"Astrea, do you feel that?" Dante asked his fellow blonde.
She looked around and with a heavy sigh proceeded to conjure up some flames at the end of her palm. With a single movement, she sent her arm straight across. Once her movement halted, all the gigantic creatures, souls and other beings in front of them for thousands and thousands of meters were wiped from existence in a very bright blue flame.
"With this, they'll be back later. But at least it'll keep them from constantly coming back at us without delay. This level may be limitless, but that's only in distance. Let's get through this and get to Vindel fast. He still needs to help me with the brakes of my car…" She said, leaving her little brother and other sisters stunned at her efficiency.
"Really have no remorse, even for the damned." Sarah pointed out as she placed a claw on Astrea's shoulder. "Sad to say most of them have no idea what's going on. They'll experience the same fate many times over here."
"Do you feel that further over the horizon?" Dante asked, once more going towards what he was feeling.
Some sort of energy that bore very similar to that of their own. Emotionless features took place under his helm as he continued to walk forward.
"Yes, I wouldn't doubt that power. It may be weak from here, but the fact we can feel him means they still have him alive." Elle got right behind her brother, the rest following.
The group continued to where they believed their brother to be, not caring at the fact the endless dead souls still haven't started regenerating. Giving up on trying to look from the ground, they took back to the sky. Spreading their wings wide, they zoomed through the blood red sky till they found where Astrea's attack left off. More undead were cowering behind struckers and jumping into lava, rather dying once more now and hoping to spawn far out of the sight of the SINS heirs.
It may not seem like it from a mindful susceptive, but these siblings were angry. They just didn't kill people for remorse or joy, they had no desire to prolong their journey. Otherwise they'd gladly enjoy every part of ripping through the guts of all that existed among these levels.
Before one of them spotted their destination, Sarah broke off and went to go deal with a small amount of devilish spawn near some ruines. She came to a stop a few dozen meters above her targets and with a single flip of a wrist, large amounts of red spheres the size of soft balls appeared around the cowards below her. Fear took full control. Their eyes reflected the glazing balls of flames.
"I'll see to it you cowards learn here and now." Another flick of her wrist, the spheres grew to the size of bowling balls, flying into each body below as they screamed in agony. Their flesh burned repeatedly as their eyes slowly turned to the same red color of the spheres that took them as their hosts.
"You'll leave this place forever, existing from this moment on as disposable tools." As she finished their flesh returned to normal as a more human like skin replaced their old devilish-skin. Chains appeared around their wrists, ankles, and neck just to fade away and be replaced with permanent tattoos.
"You exist from this point on as just numbers, you lose your right to have any other names." She pointed out to them as she called out numbers from one to twelve. When their number was called, the new tattoos bloomed red, their hosts fell to their knees and hands bowing by force.
The rest of the SINS also took to doing the same as all that dared exist before them had to face an even worse fate than being damned for eternity. However, for those they found, only Sarah had taken any slaves. Astrea for one requested information from a few young children imps who were beyond scared. Once she got her answer she let them go, only to see them get stopped by a beast ready to kill them for betraying their master.
Without even looking, Astrea began walking away and took up once more to the sky slowly as she stretched her wings wide. With the cries coming from the kids reaching her ears she flapped her wings once. Just by doing that a gust of wind created by her wings sliced the beast like a propper butcher would a cow.
Her actions stunned the imps who quickly got back on track, running as far as they could from the SINS. Not even daring to look back as they realize that this was a kindness the others weren't given….
Dante took note from his elder sisters and left the idea open for another time. He too will be needing his own guards eventually along with subjects. He was shocked before when he heard from Vindel directly, he had no desire to take any sort of royalty heading. Just wanted to be left alone with his mates after so very long, and he couldn't blame him.
Sarah ordered her slaves to disperse, which they did, fading away into their own shadows and out of sight.
The siblings grouped up once more, and continued forward. Soon they came upon the correct path to their destination. They prepared themselves for what they believed to be the hardest battle for their lives yet…
X_X HELL- Door of Ye ol faithful (With Mercy And Cynder)
(Still Author's POV)
The sister duo walked calmly through hundreds of bodies of their fallen foes laid out as if split straight down the middle. Their bodies stacked like a split wave on either side.
The two of them had little patience for this game Hiels was playing, and for Mercy it was time away from bonding with her two kids. Cynder couldn't blame her at all, and felt that this time around she'd be the one killing him, adding yet another god to her kill count.
With their kids off doing their own tasks, these two went to go visit a certain female dragon who owed them an explanation or a few. With what little patience they had to spare for their equally powerful female companion, Ophis for one just wanted to go to sleep and not be disturbed. Her actions however over the past few weeks have gained much attention from her brother and his wife.
An overwhelmingly huge castle that barred home to the dragon they were looking for, was clean of all the damage and corpses that laid around it in a near perfect radius. It was untouched all thanks to Ophis not letting anyone she didn't care for near. If they got too close, they'd be erased. With that being said the two mothers had no issue with Ophis and walked right on up.
Having a knock on her door, she already knew who it was and with a flick of her finger, opened the door for her guests to come in. Upon seeing their faces she sighed and put her hands up in surrender. Even though she was busy dealing with something, she put up a huge effort to make sure the newcomers didn't find out.
"Well didn't expect that reaction…" Mercy said looking at the dragoness.
"So Ophis…" Cynder began, "you've been busy lately."
Ophis looked away, trying to avoid the conversation.
"Well, we're not mad at all about it. Just wondering what made you-"
"My mate and kids are away. They want to come back." Ophis said leaving the group silent. " I haven't seen them in two thousand years."
"That's reasonable, but did you have to bring those two back? We all know they wanted peace after their horrific life." Mercy released, a bit saddened to see the knights back alive.
"...What is it you think I've done?" Ophis tilted her head to the side.
"You brought those two back from the dead. They've been dead for centuries! Why now, would you bring them back after they've finally made peace?"
"Sorry to inform you two," Ophis looked at the twins. "I have no idea what it is you think I've done." Ophis came to stand in front of them, her childlike body replaced with her actual adult form. "As I've told you both, I've been wanting to see my family again. I've only been up to-!" She got cut off as a glowing golden chain appeared around her neck instantly binding her to the choker.
This brought the others to their highest level of guard, as they looked around and through everything without moving a single step. Having Ophis grit her teeth she bit down on something, and blood came out of her mouth. Her blood dripped down her face and onto the glowing choker, having it dissipate as if completely destroyed.
"Sorry, I haven't been able to talk to anyone about this…" Ophis began to inform the others of what she's been up to and who did this to her. "Been trying to break this damned cursed thing off for days now."
"You're saying someone managed to mark-you, and break your will?" Mercy couldn't believe it. "You of all cases?! Wow that's something else." She pulled Ophis in for a hug, her tough and rough exterior replaced with warmth and care. "I'm glad we got here in time. I don't want anything to happen to you."
Ophis was slowly tearing up, her best friend's warm embrace was just what she needed after such a rough experience. Cynder looked at her sisters heartening moment and sighed.
"You two are still the best of friends… Anyway, Ophis are you able to talk now?" The now freed Ophis nodded and informed her companions of what went down. Everything from someone pretending to be her mate to them making her believe she was responsible for them leaving this dimension, all of which they knew wasn't the case at all.
The fact someone had the will to even dare attempt to deceive the third most powerful being in existence and yet somehow succeed… Was beyond worry. Ophis went on describing who came to her and what she told them.
"They came at me with a supposed letter from him… Which I for one wouldn't question as he tends to send me them at least a few times a decade." She brought up her mate who was with her three kids. "The letter was without any doubt his hancock, but once I finished reading it this chain went around me and binded me here and stripped me of most of my strength. The messenger also disappeared in a whirl of white feathers."
"So it was an angel..?" Mercy thought, thinking about who was fast enough to make a letter drop. "Only a few come to mind… Then there's the god Hermes but he turned his wings in long ago after he lost his title as the fastest being."
"Someone had to be as fast as him to have gotten away from Ophis. Thats no question."
"Whoever did this to me, has more plans than just playing with my heart here." Ophis cleared her mind as she finished rewatching the event in her head.
"Yes. It would seem they wanted you out of the picture, be it just temparray."
"Alright, later for that. Now tell me, who is it that came back?"
"Someone mascarreding as you brought the two Pendragons back."
"Yes, they even fought in the human world recently. Any ideas who could mimic such an idea of this?"
"A few, but they've long since passed. They should be in the lowest levels of hell right now thanks to either me or one of my brothers." Ophis sighed, not looking forward to going for another manhunt. "Be it as it is, my strength will be coming back soon, till then keep me in the loop. Tell me everything." Ophis snapped her fingers, having three chairs materialize and come around them for their talk.
X_X Heaven- Chaos/Panic among the ranks-
(Still Author's POV)
Hundreds of thousands of angels flew around. Patrolling the sky and ground. Up and low, they kept searching for possible leaks in their defenses along with any infiltrators. Many of the highest ranking angels were spread far and wide giving orders to their regions and governing the civilians who lived throughout the silver city.
The two children of Michael began their reports and filling of troops. Giving commands and ordering more healers for the wounded. Up in heaven the numbers of those fighting were increasing, as the numbers down on earth kept the evil at bay.
"Are you sure you want to leave your post just to get on the front lines so badly?! Knock it off! You're not strong enough to go fight them like the one man army you think you are!" Emilia yelled at her younger brother who gritted his teeth. Luke for one however wasn't having any of it and made his way towards the gates.
"You know what?! I will decide my own fate! I'm a warrior, and by our grandfather's name I will fight in his light!" He spread his wings wide and took flight, speeding to the gates just to be stopped by Emilia.
"You dumbass!" She glared at him with anger and sadness, grabbing his wrist and throwing him into the fortress walls that lined heaven.
She wasn't done however. She met him after impact, bringing her fist back and landing it against his forehead, pushing even further inside the wall. She kept it up as the tears began flying. Her pretty face is stained, a sister's love being tested here.
"If you can't even beat me!" She gritted as she held back her fist. You'll never be able to beat the guys who took Vindel!" She slammed her fist next to his head, missing it as it held more force behind it then the others.
Getting the picture, through utter embarrassment he submitted and pulled her into a hug as they went home to cool off. With their father being absent from his role as the mightiest warrior of all of Heaven, the two offspring had the largest boots to fill. Ones they couldn't even begin to move even together.
They left others incharge, their aunts and other relatives taking lead as they understood the pressure the kids were up against. Luke despite being younger than his sister showed great promise for being a strategist, whereas Emilia was very gifted in combat.
However right now they needed a break. Their Aunt Sincre came with the news roughly the same time Cynder let her kids know about Vindel. Finding out someone who could rival Cynder was taken captive sent the entire world pecking order into question, and heaven wasn't spared either. The great silver city had some riots from her residents, most of which had ties with those below. Panic was at a near all time high, and had no plan of stopping.
With so many of the forces of heaven fighting, if the armies of Hell wanted to strike Heaven, this would be their greatest chance. The devils for one would be very lucky if they dared break the truce of peace, not many can hold the high level devil kings back now.
"We should rest, sister. I-I know I was out of line back there, and I made you upset." Luke handed his sister a towel. "I'm sorry." He sat down next to her, his head hung low in shame.
Emilia however took the towel and wiped her face without question. She let out a long sigh as she tried to calm down. She opened her eyes and pulled her brother in for a hug. She whispered something into his ear, then pressed her lips to his forehead.
"I love you my dear little brother. Nothing could change that." She tightened her grip around him. "I just can't stand the idea of ever losing you."
The two of them remained together for a long hour which they said nothing. Just being together now was all they could dare ask for. With how horrible things were turning out to be, anyone could be taken out. No one was safe in this war, and they needed the strength to see it through.
Shortly after their break, they decided to make a call to their cousins still down on earth. Calling the SINS residence, Kotori picked up the phone just to turn it around and use magic, a large version of facetiming. The fellow redhead greeted her cousins who were happy to see her.
"Been a very long time hasn't it?"
"Yeah, you bet it has." Kotori grined, her little fang sticking out as she closed her lips. "How's things handling up there?"
"Rough would be an understatement." Emilia sighed. "How's things there?"
"Well, parents went out doing their thing, it's just me here for the most part doing nothing but waiting. Mine is with the younglings along with Raynare. Jessica went to go keep watch over Akeno and her friends."
"Well, would you like some company?" Emilia asked, just knowing her brother was 100% for going to earth. "Me and Luke here had some stress to relent.."
"More like just you-" He shut up quickly as Emilia prepared a flaming fist, should he continue his sentence.
"Yeah sure, I haven't seen ya in forever! Oh wait! There's an issue…"
"Issue..?" Emilia raised an eyebrow.
Kotori nodded, beginning to fill them in on what happened over the past seventy two hours. Everything from Mercy showing up, to Michael introducing his new sister. And now apparently Akeno has made a decree regarding the young Gremory heiress.
"Damn, Dante really has a full hold on all you girls." Luke said, just to get that fist from before in his stomach.
"Well, he's our king now. And we approved anyway. Sarah for one always felt like she could really connect with Rias. I guess it's because they look so much alike."
"So the girl's name is Rias huh? Hmm even the mighty Gremory house couldn't keep away from the SINS."
"Well, sorry to say Luke, but at the moment all of us SINS girls are taken." Kotori laughed as the red-haired male blushed.
"Yeah, no thanks. I wouldn't want anyone of my blood for a mate."
"Wow, so much for you saying you'd marry Aunt Sincre when you get old enough." Emilia teased him.
"I was eight!" He blushed redder than his hair. "Stop teasing me!" Said aunt off in the distance started sneezing, feeling like someone just shattered a dream of hers.
The older girls laughed at his expense and he sighed in defeat. With that wrapped up they ended the call and prepared to leave. On their way out they filled others in on their whereabouts and got the ok from their aunts. Sincre however made sure to look over Luke before he left, giving him a good luck kiss on the cheek. His blush engulfed his entire face as he stormed off.
X_X Earth (Gremory Estate/residence) Warning- lemon
(Still Author's POV)
Akeno looked Rais dead in the eyes with her complete devotion. Everything she said was from the heart. Rais on the other hand couldn't find the words to speak. She tried so hard to tell her best friend her feelings, but nothing could come out.
She'd love to be the godmother, but was it appropriate? And the sudden bomb she dropped, asking if she had feelings for Dante… Was it true? She couldn't say. She couldn't find the words to say, let alone answer it honestly to herself.
"N-No... ? I-I… I don't know how I feel about Dante."
Akeno smiled as she placed a kiss on her forehead. She moved back, keeping a hand gracing Rias' cheek. Her eyes like mirrors, seeing her own reflection in them Rias could see she was crying. She didn't even know it as she did sub consciously.
"It's alright, I believe you'll come to know eventually. As of my other question…?"
"I'd be honored to be the child's godmother." Rias smiled with that as she moved to squeeze Akeno in a tight embrace.
The two of them stayed silent for a bit, starting to hear explosions from outside the estates perimeter. Knowing others were involved, they continued their little moment before summing clothing once more to wear. Akeno let out a sigh, but before getting up fully and denying Rias the chance, she made her move.
Fast as lightning, Akeno had her hands full in deep of Rias' breasts. Hearing the redhead squeak and then moan triggered the dragoness. She licked her lips before placing them on the redheads. The sudden dominance Akeno had taken on Rias caught her by surprise, but it was not like they've never been this level of 'friendly' before… No that wouldn't be right. This wasn't just playing. The lust in the air was clear enough that Akeno was going mad for her best friend.
"I've forgotten to tell you something Rias," Akeno said, now grabbing her face and turning it to face one another. "Being pregnant makes me very horny. Which is why Dante suggested that you'd be my next mate."
"But I-I-" Rais stopped as Akeno forced herself once more on her. "I thought you only be with Dante, what's changed..?" She said, panting.
"Silly Rias, we both knew how much you care for him, as he feels the same." Akeno started to lower her hand and spread Rias's lower lips for play. "And as you've yet to stop me, I know you're in the same boat as me. Our desire for one another is great. He'll need to be the one to turn you however."
"Akeno… Why do you want me as a mate for Dante?"
"Simple, you're meant for us. The both of us." Akeno smiled before scooting closer. Rias' eyes went wide and as she was about to scream out, she opened her eyes frantically awake.
Looking to her side Akeno was still bare nude but sleeping soundly. Checking herself next she noticed nothing had happened between her legs and she dreamt about all of that. Bringing one finger to her lips, she thought about how it went and whether or not she actually wanted that to happen. Blushing madly to herself, she does recall her few nights she had when it was just her and Akeno many years ago. To say they've both made it clear their feelings for one another back then, however as of now she was sure it was more that of sisters then lovers.
Thus trying to keep what was hopefully just her heart getting the last jist of a fading feeling out, Rias kept this quiet and sealed her lips. Akeno was never going to find out about her perverted dream, and hopefully no else either.
"Hey Rias?" Asia asked from the otherside of the door making her presence known. "Everyone's gathered in the family room and wants you and Akeno-san to join in." Asia then knocked in case she didn't get through to her older sister.
Taking a deep breath and letting out a heavy sigh, Rias snapped her fingers as new clothes appeared around both her and Akeno.
"Yes, We'll be right there. Go on ahead, I need to freshen up a bit." Hearing Asia acknowledge, her footsteps echoed away from the door. "Well Akeno, you up?" Rias turned to her best friend.
"Hmm?" Akeno stirred awake. Definitely from a slight power nap. "How long was I out for..?"
"Can't say, I don't know exactly either." Rias stood up and stretched. "Anyways, the others are waiting for us, guess they got something planned of sorts. Don't want to keep them waiting too long."
Akeno yawned and got up rather quickly. Noticing she ahd clothes already on she smirked and thanked the redhead. The two of them quickly went to the bathroom together and washed their faces a bit, and of course aken o gave Rias a little tease about Issei again making the devil turn red.
The two of them had their fun, and headed to the others. Gathered in the living room, everyone in Rias' peerage was present. They welcomed their leader and king, asking if they had a good night's sleep. Now confirming that a night had passed, Rias looked at Akeno who began explaining how hungry she was.
"So what's up Asia? What's the progress with the SINS looking like?"
"Well thats the thing, other than Vader being in Hell right now ripping apart what appears to be fallen warriors of the SINS kingdom, Dante and the others have been off radar one could say."
Issei mentioned something about Ddriag telling him about a change in the balance of order which he hasn't spoken up since. If the mighty red dragon emperor was silent about something, truly everyone had to be worried.
"Also, Michael and his sister went back to the SINS estate, suggesting once we're all ready to meet them there." Koneko said as she jumped off the couch and headed somewhere down the hall. "I'll be good in just a bit." As such the devils got themselves set and headed out.
Akeno kept smiling and keeping her hands over her belly. The mother-to-be couldn't wait to hold her child. Opening her eyes she saw they were getting close to home and couldn't wait for all this fuss to be over. Her family has been stressed enough and despite being the newest member of it, the others would gladly sacrifice all for her. Thats what it meant to be one of SINS blood. You're family period, and nothing is stronger than family.
X_X (SINS Estate/residence)
Outside in the front yard, Michael was talking to his cousin Jessica. The two of them seemed to be having a decent and humorous conversation. Off on the front porch Victoria was having her hair done by Kotori while Mine was holding a mirror. Her single purple bang still covering her one eye as she requested that.
Akeno came on in first greeting her family while Rias and others followed at the heel. Mine filled them in on some more people coming, but Rias and the others didn't know them persay.
"Oh, they're our cousins. Michael's children." Jessica said, then looked at Michael. "Not you, our uncle."
"Hmm, I haven't met Luke yet, but I did hold Emilia in my arms when she was younger." Michael stated as he was looking forward to meeting his one cousin and seeing what Emilia grew up to be.
"Yeah, damn you're old." Jessica said hiding a smug smirk behind her hand.
"You're not wrong, not much younger than your oldest brother Vindel."
A white whistle was heard as a circle appeared in the middle of the lawn as the heavens opened up and Emilia and Luke appeared on the lawn. The clouds quickly closed and the whistle went silent. The new redhead looked around, and instantly locked on to the twins on the porch. Without delay she began walking over to them as Luke was nearly glued to her.
The younger brother took in those around him, and noticed a few from the wedding. He broke off from his sister and went to go say hi to Jessica, the one cousin he had much time spent with. Coming upon her, he noticed the Blonde male next to her. The young boy had his spiritual energy radiating off him as if he was a full on archangel like his own father.
Shaking off the immense pressure, he smiled and reached out for a hand shake to his cousin. Trying his best not to break face at the fact he feels his knees would give out any second now.
"Hi there, names Luke. Nice to meet ya." Michael took his hand and shook it gently. The pressure he seemed to be putting out unknowingly disappeared as though it was never there.
"Hey there Luke, wish I met ya sooner." Michael smiled back at his technically much younger cousin. "Glad to see you've grown up to be a nice young lad."
"That sounds funny coming from you... " Luke chuckled.
"Fair enough, I hope to get back to my proper body state soon but I doubt it'll happen as I want it." Michael sighed as he knew his young form was not his ideal state. He wanted to be back to his near prime, tall and handsome. His slightly short blonde hair and goatee… Oh how much he missed his old body.
Just thinking about his old life, he couldn't hold back the tears that rolled down his face when it came to his wife. He left her carrying the product of their love for one another. A child which he's yet to see nor find out what their name was, be it a girl or a boy.
Jessica took quick note of his face and placed her arms around him in a bear hug from behind. She then whispered into his ear that if he wanted to talk about something she'd gladly hear him out. She for one knew his story as if it was all written down in a tragic romance novel…
"You ok there Michael..?" Luke asked, not really getting why the water works were suddenly coming down now.
"Yeah, I'm alright. Hey, we'll need to catch up once all this crap is over with. I'm gonna go see your sister." Michael looked at the porch and could see the girl truly has grown beautiful.
Getting a nod from Luke the two separated while Jessica pulled onto the angel boy, bringing him to introduce himself to the devils. The devils welcomed him with warmth and quick introductions but kind of went silent when they found out he was the son of the current leader of all of heaven.
Jessica laughed about this, stating that no matter how obvious who's related to who people still act surprised.
Rias, however being of royal blood herself, laughed about it as well, though not to the same status obviously. She seemed to get along very well with Luke as if they've known each other for some time which instantly got Issei into defense mode over his president.
"Listen here lover boy, I'm not going after your king here." Luke waved the boy off. "But I will be glad to admit that she is extremely gorgeous. You make damn sure to remember that." Rias blushed as Konkeo punched Issei in the stomach before he made a comeback that would've put him in the ground.
"Ouch, I'm going to feel that for the rest of the week!' Issei whined.
"Suck it up pervert." The white haired nekomata said as she and Jessica had a silent conversation which they came to a nod.
"What was that about you two?" Xenovia asked, curious.
"Snacks. And we're going to have some now." Jessica said as the two young girls turned about face and into the house. "We'll be back in a bit."
"So Michael, Mercy is your mom right?" Asia asked her fellow blonde.
"Yes, she is indeed my mother."
"Wow, so that means you're most likely going to reach archangel soon right?"
Michael, deciding it was too soon to spoil what he had reached, waved that off.
"No, I won't be able to reach that level for a very long time." He answered but the young nun couldn't understand him. "Did I say something-" he was about to ask as he noticed everyone present minus himself was completely frozen in time.
Knowing full well how powerful someone had to be to do this to beings such as his cousins, he gritted his teeth, bared his fists as he prepared to see who was responsible for this. Without even taking any time to look or to hesitate he summoned a lighting bolt to his hands made of pure red lightning and spun so fast behind him, throwing the bolt right at a 10 winged fallen angel who barely managed to have it dodge his heart, but still impale them to the roof of the estate.
Michael rushed to the angel, noticing he was in fact one of the SINS fallen elite instructors, no doubt sent here from the pits to harm those gathered. With where the blot landed, it cut perfectly into his spine, completely cutting him off from using his lower body at all. Looking down at the male he could tell the foe wasn't expecting someone who could counter him let alone move completely unrestrained under this time stopping barrier.
An ex-elite commander of the SINS Empire, completely out done and beaten by one of his ex-comrades. Michael knew exactly who this officer was, and it was rather poetic justice that a scumbag such as him would die by his hands here and now.
Without even caring to hear the man's plea, Michael blinked once as another blot of red lightning divided the poor fool's face in half. This instantly broke the time barrier, the others lost to the sudden change and whereabouts of Michael, only to hear the sizzling sound of the two bolts still present and failing to fade away as Michael just couldn't let his anger dismiss.
Mine, Kotori and Victoria looked up above them, their eyes wide at what they've just missed. Above them was Michael, the same boy who not too long ago wiped the floor with his old team and put Dante into the ground. Here he was, once again as clear as can be- in a league far above them all.
"Oh shit, what just happened?!" Issei jumped looking around, being a little late like usual.
"Take a look... Michael…" Xenoiva began, failing to find the words to finish.
"He just killed a ten winged angel… Without any of us even noticing anything happening!" Rais exclaimed. "He's no joke… He's the real deal."
"Kotori, Jessica." Mine spoke up. "We've lowered our guard to much, its time we started our counter attack."
"Counter attack..?! But we just got here." Emilia pouted, now looking up to see Michael. Her heart stopped. It quickly sped up again as all the blood rushed to her cheeks.
Michael right now was sporting a total of eight wings, the same size however as a full grown and matured Archangel. His poor body looked so small in this childform. Her mind was fuzzy and she couldn't tell if she was having the hots for him or not right now. It wasn't fair, being the angel of True Desire, she felt weak at the knees.
"Wow…"
Michael seemingly stuck in thought, thought about his position and the fact his wings just ripped his shirt completely off. He was decently lean, that is if he was a highschooler. But no, he had a body truly befitting a child of a god. Sighing to himself, he really liked his shirt. His mom picked it out for him after they went to disney world and went to the new star wars attractions. Turning around he noticed his blots still impaling the now deceased figure and snaped his fingers. The blots turned into a red fire and left no trace of the fallen.
Jumping down, Michael was instantly bone crushed by his sister who demanded him to speak to her. Apparently she was able to watch it all go down but not move. This got him thinking her new blood would be bringing her more to his level faster than he thought. Truly impressed with her progress in this short time.
The other angels there however were silent. Despite having their own divine intervention keeping them immune to any sort of time barrier, they let their guard down and must still be exhausted from all their work.
"Alright well heres the deal…" Mine said as she begun filling everyone in.
"We will be a priority target for them now, as we can see. This little stunt will surely cause more to come and in greater numbers. And Rias," She turned to the heiress. "Sorry to say your house ain't set up to protect itself from these kind of attacks."
"Yeah, you most certainly got that right."
"Well heres how we'll proceed: Everyone is staying here. We have plenty of big arms here to protect you guys along with keeping the younglings safe." She then turned to Akeno. "We need to make sure the survival of our race along with the true bloods continue. Not to mention we will be having a few more workhorses showing up. Once we have this place completely secured, we may take a breather."
"Well I got no problem being here, I enjoy earth very much and what better excuse to visit than family." Luke joked, getting a punch in the arm from the now present Jessica who was slightly annoyed from the joke.
"If I may make a request…" Michael spoke up, having all eyes drawn to him. "The time Era Hollow, does it still function?"
"Yes, it does. Plan on using it?"
"I know its sudden and rather rude to bluntly ask for it, but yes. This childish body of mine is holding me back greatly and I much rather be closer to my ideal self as soon as I can."
As soon as he finished, Cynder and Mercy both showed up at the gates. Both of them in their more human fitting clothing, modern of course. The twins walked on in and greeted everyone present, Mercy of whom went to her son and admitted to hearing what he had asked.
Without needing to ask her sister, Cynder nodded and permitted him use of it freely. Her nephew had done way too much for their family and legacy that he can't be ignored. To do so is the same as ripping their name off and tossing it in the inferno. Respect as many say has to be earned. In this case, Michael had plenty.
Mercy looked her son over, seeing his wings in their current state made her bite her lip. Bringing her hand to her lips she began to ponder. Seemingly she came to a quick answer to the question in her head and brought her hands to each side of his face, cupping them in loving matter. Blushing madly, he called back his wings, leaving a few black feathers to fall behind, gracing the ground gently.
"My dear boy, if this is what you wish then I'll permit it." She then looked at her daughter and motioned for her to come on over. "I'll join you in this as it'll be great bonding time for us along with Victoria." Said female blinked a few times over, not knowing what was going on or what she was just self-voluntold to partake in.
"Mercy," Cynder begun moving closer to her sister. "Take as much time as you need in there. You're once more allowed access to it." She said as she snapped her fingers, a blue flame in her palm quickly forming and dispersing as it made the changes known.
"Rich making it seem like I couldn't use it in the first place dear sister." Mercy mocked. "Don't forget I also have been a part of its construction. We've both used it many times over. Some times of which we wanted to vent a little and get away from our duties. Hell we had some fun times as well-!" She was cut short as Cynder covered her mouth knowing full well she was about to mention something her kids shouldn't be hearing.
"I think thats enough of that, hurry on up and get going. We already finished what we had planned and Ophis will be coming by soon to spend time with the kids."
Rias and her crew went many big names coming and going… What were poor little devils like them supposed to be around here? No way were they allowed to be around such powerful beings without restrictions?
Akeno noticed some tension from the heiress, and brought her hand to hers, tightening it for reinsurance. No words were said as Akeno looked to her friend with much confidence and love.
"You'll be fine. We already consider you all friends and family." She gave her hand a firm squeeze. "Don't worry about anything, all will be fine." She smiled, giving off her own trademark gentle smile.
"Ms. Gremory." Mercy said, coming over to the younger female. "I have a lot of history with your mother, she was a fantastic student of mine. I do hope once all is done that we can have a talk and perhaps I can have a look at how you've progressed so far?" The long haired blonde looked at Rias with confidence and a strong aura that almost brought Rias to her knees, them buckling at the very moment.
"Y-yes. That would be great." Rias didn't even question the part about her mother being this woman's student. If she did, she didn't know what the consequences would be.
"Very well then," She then turned to Akeno. "Do make sure to keep this one around, ok Akeno my dear?"
"Yes auntie. We'll be here waiting for your safe return." Akeno said, still keeping the same genuine smile.
"Umm, I got to ask." Issei stepped up to be in between Akeno and Rias. "Is there away that you may know why Ddraig is silent? He hasn't been responsive and has been saying many weird things about dragons honor, loyalty, wraiths… I don't know what any of it means and he hasn't responded to me for a few days now."
Mercy looked at the males arm that contained the dragon. Seeing clearly the defeated dragon in
His confined state, all she could do is sigh. Truly their personal history made this tough on her, being the one who put him into a Sacred Gear personally… But that's a story for a later date.
"Sorry kid, can't say I know his issue directly. When Ophis shows up later, she might know what's his deal."
The lead fallen angel snapped her fingers as a doorway appeared, otherside being none other than the SINS castle. Victoria looked through and had to admit, despite being damaged greatly, it was an impressive sight. The mother of two said her quick good byes, and gave one last look at Akeno before leaving. Having a silent thought to herself, hoping all will be fine with the future of their kind in her. With that, she headed through first. Victoria made her quick goodbyes, saying she can't wait to see each other again. Leaving Michael as the last one to go through. However before doing so, the young fallen turned to his aunt and looked up into her eyes.
Cynder for one couldn't tell what the young man was thinking exactly, but came shocked when he rushed her, arms around her in a hug. Stunned at first, she lowered her arms around him, accepting the hug in return.
"Thank you for all you've done for me. I can't think of enough words to describe my gratitude. Thank you for all those decades of watching over me from afar. For giving me others to guide me as a family." Michael squeezed harder, not wanting to let go just yet. "Thank you for my previous life." He broke off, and started to walk towards the portal. "I promise I'll make everything up to you."
"I can't wait to see you return Michael, my dear godson. Your auntie will always welcome you here, don't forget it child." Cynder started to tear up a bit more now.
Michael said nothing and just left his hand stretched out above his head, giving a salute as he went through the portal. It closing once he reached the otherside. The very moment it did Cynder broke down into a crying mess, her daughters, akeno included rushing to her side.
"I wasn't the right person to raise him… Of all the things that child has gone through... " She started to dig her hands into the ground. "We're supposed to make sure the kids have a better life than the ones we had… But this is turning out just the same!" She roared out into the sky.
"Mother..!" Mine wrapped her arms around Cynders right arm, Kotori doing the same to the left.
"Please mother, everything will be alright." Akeno said, coming clear view in front of her. Cynder locked eyes for a moment with the raven haired girl, her tears coming to a stop. "We'll make it through this." Akeno made a confident pose with her arms.
"Akeno my dear, I will make sure you will never have to worry about being a mother yourself. You will never be put through this pain, I swear it!" Cynder let go of the ground, pulling Akeno in for a hug, not strong enough to force the child out thankfully.
"Mother, we need to have everyone come inside. I think Ray and her parents will be done soon and will come back home with some fine results." Jessica made note of her cousin who went with her parents somewhere.
"Last I heard they went to Germany, Lubeck."
"Oh, so they went to go deal with the remnants of one of the dragon guilds still around… No doubt a gateway from hell to the world." Kotori sighed.
"You're correct on that," Mine looked at her twin. "Being raised not far from it, I know exactly where they have that gate."
"Umm, lady Cynder If I may." Rias moved up to the Queen of SINS. "I heard word that even my home territory is being attacked, yet Lord Vader seems to have intervened. Is there anything you can tell me that we may be able to help in?"
"Young Rias, man my sister truly does see a lot of your mother in you… Yes, in fact there is." Cynder got up, her children letting go. "As my sister will be making use of the primary training grounds in the ERA Hollows, I do believe you and your peerage can make great progress in our personal sightly smaller one here."
She began leading everyone to the garden in the back which had stone walls lined with flowers of beautiful design. In the middle was of course a large multi-tier pool for birds to bathe in, but not for people. Jessica went and moved a few vines over growing from the wall, revealing a gate frame that seemingly was closed by bricks. However this wasn't the case as it soon flickered and was replaced with a empty mirror with no reflection of anyone in front of it.
"This here is a much weaker and smaller version of the ERA Hollows, but it'll do up to a years worth of training in a day." Cynder looked at Rias and then the rest of her peerage. "I assume as all of you are devils, this wouldn't affect your lifespan at all."
"You have a place like this? Wow, truly you guys think of everything." Kiba whistled, shocked and very impressed with everything he's heard so far.
"Yes, we've had many battles over time itself, so by now we have a desire for relaxation- the main purpose of this gate was for just relaxation, but it can serve the same purpose as a training ground if desired." Cynder said as she summoned a bolt of lightning, throwing it directly in the middle of the mirror.
The mirror absorbed the bolt and remained silent for a few moments, awakening soon after with a bright blue glow. On the other side showed a beach side stuck at mid day, never changing unless the master of the realm willed it. Being who the SINS are, that was easy for them.
"So, who here wants to guide and train them?" Cynder asked, her children thinking.
"Well I think I c-"
"Mother, I will go." Akeno spoke up, cutting Mine off. "This way, I will be able to have my child peacefully away from harm, while watching over the Gremory perage's progress." Akeno said with confidence.
"Hmm I do believe that would be a wise decision… However, are you sure you want to deprive him of that..?" Cynder asked, curious of the young raven haired princess.
The others were silent. This was the question that no one there had any say otherwise in. The mother-to-be made this decision as she saw fit.
"Yes, I will give birth without Dante being there. The safety of my child is my number one priority."
"Very good, Jessica." The green haired girl came forward. "You will stay here with your cousins. Kotori and Mine will accompany Akeno along with the devils to the training grounds. As I am a true master of the arts of having children…" Cynder prided herself with the fact she had eight kids. "You'll need someone strong to hold onto." She laughed, the twins shaking with fear at how their hands are going to be needing ice packs.
The groups split, each going to their destinations. Leaving behind Cynder, Luke and Emilia. The aunt of the two young angels looked them over, rather impressed that they held off good leads and pushes against the enemy forces. Michael should be proud of his two kids.
"Well you two, I have a job for you two if you're interested." She said, firmly grabbing their shoulders. "What say you join me in looking for Vindel?"
They agreed to do so without hesitation. This brought a smile to the archangel. She prepared them for what comes next and where they'd all be joining up hopefully with Dante's party. The next few hours were going to be extremely bloody and she couldn't wait to drink the blood of the bastard responsible for all this.
"Don't fret my son, mommys coming to save you." She said under her breath, referring to Vindel.
X_X HELL- Gates of Tartaros ( Pits )
(Still Author's POV)
Vindel had shown great amounts of restraint along with true brutality. From castrating his foes, to rendering them unconscious so they wouldn't die and just respawn good as new, ready to fight him. Those of course were those he still cherished, those of the elite guard. The others however were mere childsplay and from he could gather his own way of coping with the unyielding stress thrown upon him.
He had three wives to go back home to, and three kids he needed to be there for when they were born, and till eternity then forth. The foes that still resent him haven't a chance even now when he's at his weakest. These past few days of brawling have only once more proven to those present, the prince was indeed the son of his parents. A dragon god restrained to his humanoid form.
Seraphina was one of the few elite guards that didn't strike the prince, barring a few of her fellow female fallen angels. Despite the numbers from before, even more new bodies arrived, barring the same legion armor she did. Well over a hundred elite guards now fought against the prince, who finally started to show fatigue. Her heart burned with pain watching him get attacked.
Those that noticed her and few other fallen angels not attacking brought their arms up against her and co;. They demanded they participate like everyone else, however the lower class of pawns had no chance to make demands as they were whipped out with a single swift movement of Seraphina's wing. She knew they'd come back, but the results would remain the same. Her companions beside her were equal in strength so they had no fear for the weak demons or devils. No fallen dared tell them what to do, knowing full well what their armor represented and the conquest behind such honors.
"We can just sit here and watch this go on…" She couldn't stop crying. "Why is fate so cruel?"
She yelled out in fury and sadness, bolts of light piercing the fools who kept coming after her group. Joined by her comrades, they slaughtered the beasts. She hoped that someone would put an end to this torment.
As if smitten with the worst of luck, fate once more struck hard. A few dragons of the SINS council arrived and began giving orders to attack. Those gathered rank and file, listening to their leaders orders. Now with these dragons here, though only a few of them, she and her group were no match for certain ones. Despite this fact, they stood their ground and refused to follow orders. The dragons of the council knew the elite guards were vastly strong hence their position and legions rep.
However a few of them couldn't stand a chance against dragons of the council, being not far beneath the twin heavenly dragons. So to have a fate worse than this, the angels signed their own punishment in defiance. They prepared to pay the consequences of their actions.
That however never came to pass as Vindel now stood between the group. His eyes blood thirsty for the old fools in front of him. The rest of all those present awaited the battle that was about to commence, no doubt a fight more fair than just seeing the prince beat the small fry around.
A dragon began to preach, mocking the prince and the kingdom that most of them swore loyalty to. As if trying to get further under the prince's skin. Surprising the elite guard, it did. Just not for the reason the dragon wanted.
"So you dare mock everyone here?" Vindel spoke cold and sternly. "With the hundreds of years they have in battle experience, winning their place among history as the greatest legion to have ever existed." He now looked around at the guards.
"You dare mock their memory." he then looked at the very dragon who was now the center of attention. "Your death is one that was granted of mercy, and now that you've forsaken not only the empire, but those who've served with and under you?" Vindel was pissed beyond anytime before in his life.
He summoned a bolt of lightning that had trouble keeping manifest, a sign he wasn't strong enough to hold on much longer. However he raised it high with a yell that became a roar. The grounds around them vibrating as some debris became airborne.
He collapsed his fist, the blot dispersing. He fell to one knee and panted, coughing up blood. He was pushing his body too hard. Yet he found the strength to stand back up, slowly gathering his surroundings.
"You will die here Vindel-!?" The dragon who couldn't keep his mouth shut lost his lower jaw as a blade cut it clean off from his head. His tongue now exposed became a target for yet another blade to cut, forcing the dragon to peel at his face. The pain he felt was enough to kill most, however he'd be alive for a few more moments to see who did him in.
Gathered above everyone in silence was Cynder, the mother of Vindel, and their absolute QUEEN. The guard stood silent as they waited for their demise at the hands of their ex-ruler.
Cynder raised her hand, a dozen blades manifesting out of thin air, pulsating with raw power that was neither divine or demonic. Moving her pointer down, the blades pierced the dragon, ripping him to shreds and paste. Yet they didn't stop there, oh no she wanted them all to witness a mother's wrath. The rest of the dragon council shared the same fate, along with any other dragon within sight of the queen.
She landed next to her son, towering over everyone at nearly twenty meters in height, her devine stature still present in this time. She picked up her son in her hands, and brought him close to her chest. Tears the size of liters fell from her face. While she did this, those hostels present were greeted with the same weapons that killed their strongest units. Hundreds of the vermin cried out in fear and pain as they became paste. Even some in the elite guard stood still waiting for the same fate, some dare challenge the queen. Those that did, weren't spared.
Before long Seprahina and her little group noticed the bodies that remained started burning in a rapture of red and purple flames, leaving nothing left. Unlike before where the dead reincarnated, they remained dead. Looking up to the queen who was saying something to her son quietly, two angels arrived next to her, each on one of her shoulders. The two of them looked down into her hand, seeing Vindel barely conscious. Without needing to say anything further, Cynder nodded and had the kids take their cousin back to the SINS estate.
LEaving just the fallen archangel and a few of the elite guards behind. She looked down at her feet, the traitors standing still awaiting for their fate to be like the others. Cynder then spoke out, loud and firm. Telling them all to gather before her. They did as told, and continued to look up at the giantess.
"You all have suffered greatly, most of you died way before your prime." "She looked at Seraphina. "There is no way to bring you all back to life now that you've been cursed by this bastard." She cursed his name. "I know who here did what and for what its worth, you have my gratitude." She looked them all over. "I did not come here to lecture anyone nor praise anyone. Let me make that perfectly clear to all of you." Her tone changed to that of a ruler.
"Those of you who wish to have another go at life simply can not by normal means. However I will do what is in my power to have you reinstated back as the Elite guard of the SINS Empire." She said loudly, making sure it didn't need to be said again.
"Once this war is over, I will make sure you all are brought back home. Warriors of your caliber haven't been seen for centuries, and it'll be an honor to have you all back if you're willing."
"Lady Cynder!" Seraphina spoke up, grabbing her attention. "Please, whatever it is you have to do make sure Vindel is ok!" She cried out. Her raw emotions got the queen's memories to start turning gears.
"Please, he has to make it. He's too good for this damned world!" Others around her also voiced the same opinion. None of them wanted harm coming to the prince, and hoped only the best for him, not caring at all about their sake.
"Seraphina… You're one of his friends aren't you?" Seraphina was at a loss, surely she had no right to claim she was a friend of the prince after all this. "Don't worry, he's very strong. I am more than willing to say he'll be wanting to spend time with you later." She smiled to her.
"As my promise to you all here, I will see the bastard responsible for this pay, and you will all be brought back as kin!" Cynder proclaimed making a fist.
Her sudden decree that she was willing to claim them all as kin brought them all down to their knees bowing the very ground she now stood upon. Many of them yelled out they weren't worthy, which she decided against them, all of them were worthy in her eyes.
