AN: Hello my lovely readers! I just wanted to say thank you for all of your wonderful comments during a hard time in my life! But now I'm back and should be getting chapters out more frequently! I would have posted this about a week or so ago but I was a busy person trying to get married. Yes that's right! your girl is a whole wife now! So better things are on the way.
For now, I hope you enjoy this smaller chapter 3
Waking the next morning feeling groggy, Kagome can't find the will to force herself out of bed just yet. It wasn't that she's not a morning person; no, Edo drilled into her that she didn't have a choice when she was to wake up; she just stayed up a bit too late. A yawn leaves her lips while the sun's warm rays gently pull her out of her hazy state.
Two sharp knocks on her door rip her the rest of the way. Groaning softly, she throws her blankets off and quickly changes to her Miko garbs. "Rise and shine, 'Gome-chan!" Gojo calls through the door, adding the 'chan' at the end just to annoy her. "We have a lot to do today~!"
"Give me a damn minute, Satoru!" she snaps back as she ties the last part of her pants. "And keep 'chan' away from my name!" Pulling her hair back in a low ponytail, she opens the door with a glare.
"Always with those boring clothes," Gojo sighs out. "We'll have to find you something more fitting if you're going to be my assistant." Bringing his hand to his chin, Gojo pretends to think for a moment, already planning part of this day to shop for Kagome. "That will be the first stop we make then!" he cheers with a smug smile.
"If that's the case," Kagome starts with a sigh. "I already completed the uniform sheet in case you decided to mess with it."
"Great! Let's pick that up then!" Rolling her eyes, Kagome closes her door behind her and follows Gojo who was speeding away.
"Could you slow down?! It's too early for this!" she whines softly as the male chuckles while slowing down slightly. "Why the hell are you in a rush?"
"I'm excited to see you wear something other than," he smirks as he gestures to her garbs. "I can't help it." Kagome glares at him, angry and flustered from the audacity of the shaman.
"That's exactly why I filled it out before you got the chance, creep," she snaps as she speeds in front of him to the uniform shop. Why the hell was she stuck with this idiot?
"Aww, 'Gome-chan. Don't be like that!" Gojo smirks. "I'm only teasing." Kagome fights the urge to roll her eyes as she enters the building, not bothering to hold the door for the moron. Gaining her new uniform and rushing over to the bathroom, Kagome almost regrets agreeing to any of this as she fully observes her uniform. Tick marks appear on her as she holds up what should be her bottoms.
"GOJO YOU BASTARD!" she screams out. How dare he? How dare he meddle with her like this? It hasn't been a full day yet he still managed to mess with her. Having no choice but to put on her official uniform, Kagome grumbles to herself as she hears laughter coming from outside the door. She had just requested more Miko garbs, to add to her small collection and finding the most comfort in them. With those she was completely covered, modest, and a bit boring. Everything Gojo apparently hated.
With a sigh, Kagome glances at herself in the mirror, feeling highly exposed being in a mini skirt. She tries pulling it down a bit but that only shows off her stomach due to the shorter shirt style. She groans in frustration before heading out to her 'boss'. "There she is!" He beams as he turns from his conversation with the receptionist. "Wow, you picked that yourself? How daring of you, 'Gome-chan."
"Shut it," she snaps back without sparing him a glance, walking out of the building and back to her dorm.
"You're no fun," he sighs after catching up to her.
"And you're immature, how old are you anyway? Twelve?" She scoffs. "Just my luck to be put with a man-child." That seemed to have struck a nerve with the male but he hides it as soon as it shows.
"Well, what about yo-"
"It's rude to ask a woman her age," she glares and turns to him. "You're the one that was so persistent about me joining you, you don't get to ask any questions." Kagome jabs her finger against his chest in frustration.
"Ah, but you're so cute when you're mad~." Kagome throws her hands up in defeat and walks away from him.
"You're hopeless." Once at her dorm, she puts her old clothes away then readies herself for whatever Gojo had planned for the day. "So are you going to answer me?"
"My age right?" he chuckles. "How about this, if you can-"
"Nope," Kagome crosses her arms. "No games, no tricks, no bullshit." Gojo only smirks at her, his eyes covered as always but Kagome could tell he was just teasing. "I'll tell you mine if you say yours," Kagome finally gives.
Something was off. Kagome couldn't pinpoint what exactly but it was unsettling, to say the least. "Don't you think we should go back?" She asks for the umpteenth time in that hour.
"You're worried about him, right?" He smiles. "I'm sure he's fine. He's got Megumi and Nobara with him."
"They're kids!" Kagome was beginning to panic. The feeling only getting stronger as the minutes pass.
"So are you," Gojo raises an unseen brow. "Have a bit more faith."
"I'm twenty and have more experience than even you, old man."
"Hey! I'm only eight years older, that doesn't make me old!" Now that struck a chord, his usual carefree demeanor crumbled into insecurity. "If you're that worried, then go check on them!" He huffs out, realizing he let her get under his skin. If it weren't for the awful feeling in her chest, she would have teased him about it like he does to her.
"You're not coming with?"
"I have to finish up our business here. I'll catch up later," he pouts. Kagome didn't have time to question him, taking off as quickly as she could and letting her intuition guide her. After years of training with demons, her stamina was higher than any normal human's, allowing her feet to carry her where a vehicle couldn't.
Moments later she finds herself behind a large group of people at a correctional facility. Kiyotaka; Gojo's driver; was there at the front, worry clear on his face. Kagome pushes her way through the crowd, her heart loud in her ears. What was going on?
