After five years I am back to working on this story. I apologize for the long delay because of college and how my other two stories I'm working on, The Adult Life and In the End, have a higher target audience than this one. I will try to work more on this story for this project I want to pick up on. I don't own any characters in this story and enjoy the chapter

Amy POV

The full moon illuminates the night as I am taking a walk. I needed to clear her head after a day like today. I thought that Sonic would be happy that I finally moved on from him, yet he was ignoring me all day. Tails tried to convince me that Sonic wasn't feeling well so he didn't want to be bothered, but that went out the window when I saw Sally talked to him and he responded. Maybe for common courtesy, but how come he couldn't do the same with me? I heard the sound of someone strumming a guitar as I look over to see that it is Sonic. I slowly approach him as he looks up at me, guessed he sense me.

"Hey"

"Hey"

Silence fills between the two of us as he returns to his guitar. I huff as he hums, letting me know that he is listening.

"Are you mad at me?"

Sonic stops playing to look back at me before he shook his head.

"Then why have you been ignoring me all day?"

Sonic motions me to sit next to him and I do. He moves his guitar to the side before he speaks.

"I just had a lot of stuff on my mind lately that I don't want to worry you about. Like what were the odds that I would be reunited with the Freedom Fighters not to mention my siblings. I just didn't take the time to take it all in"

"I understand that, but I saw you talking to Sally earlier"

"Oh, well she was telling me about they don't want to intrude any longer and thinking of how long they are going to stay before heading off"

"Oh, well I thought the Freedom Fighters disbanded?"

"Yes and no. I left a couple of months after Sally and I broke up and Tails followed. I wanted to teach them how to face off against people without my assistance. As from the looks of things, they did pretty well on their own. My siblings and I went on different paths since we grew up in different lifestyles"

"If you don't mind me asking, what was your childhood like before the Freedom Fighters?"

"It was...okay in the end. My siblings and I were separated from birth so I was raised by adoptive parents, but that was only temporary as well. If it wasn't for my Uncle Chuck, who knows where I would be right now"

"He sounds like an amazing man"

"He was. If he was still alive, I would've liked for him to meet you. You would like him a lot"

"I'm pretty sure I would"

We sit in silence as he continues to strum on his guitar.

"You've been playing since you were young?"

"Yeah. It's been a hobby of mine for the longest, besides my love for chili dogs"

"I wanted to compliment you on your playing, and also your singing. As long as I have known you, I haven't heard you sing before"

"I don't sing anymore; it was something that my siblings and I did"

"Can I hear that song yall played again? Like just your part in the beginning?"

Sonic smiles at me as he moves his guitar back to his center and begins to play

"There's something missing

Something's not quite right

And I can feel it calling

To me every night"

I clap my hands as Sonic rubs the back of his head in embarrassment. I miss this feeling that Sonic can be around me without any awkwardness. Did it have to take us being with different people from us to hang out?

"I really like your voice. Maybe you can sing me some of yall other songs sometimes"

"Yeah, that can be arranged"

We both smile at each other as I check the time, 11:00. Sonic elbows me as I look back at him

"What brought you out here anyway?"

"Well, I wanted to take my mind off of things that have been bothering me so I chose to go on a walk. But talking to you helped me, so thank you"

"You're welcome. How are things with Silver?"

"They've been okay, just weird"

"Weird how?"

"It's hard to explain. How about things with Blaze?"

"They're fine, but I'm anticipating the next adventure and Blaze and Silver will eventually have to return to their world/time. I'm just going with the wind right now"

"So are you and Blaze going to make this work when she goes back to her dimension?"

Sonic shrugs his shoulders before he responds, "We haven't talked about it. We just got back from her dimension a couple of weeks ago so that's how we even got to see each other. The sol and the chaos emeralds existing in the same world don't always attract each other that leaves a positive outlook"

I hum as I stand up and reach out my hand to him. He grabs it as I lift him from the ground. We walk back to Cream's house as I realize that we haven't let go of each other. When I'm with Silver, I don't get this warm fuzzy feeling as I do with Sonic. I thought with the weeks that went by, I would adjust to only have these type of feelings for Silver, but with Sonic, it's different. As we made it to the door, I look at Sonic and saw that he's looking back at me. The atmosphere between us has shifted, but I couldn't determine for the better or the worse. He looks down at our hands as I guess he just realizes that we held hands walking back here, and he doesn't look like it bothers him that much.

"If something bothers you, don't hesitate to find me if you need someone to listen or to give advice"

"Thanks, Sonic"

"No problem Ames"

He hugs me as I return the hug back. That warm feeling is back as it is not spreading throughout my whole body. He releases me from the hug, but our arms were still around each other. Though we are looking at each other eyes, I feel like we are looking at each out spirits. I don't know what happen, but my body starts to lean in towards him as he does the same. Before our faces got close enough for a kiss, the sound of the doorknob clicks as Sonic speeds off to the back of the house. Cream opens the door and is surprised to see me

"Amy, it's late. What are you doing out here?"

"I just came back from a walk"

"Where you off by yourself?"

"Well, I left by myself, but Sonic walked me back. I guess he got startled by the doorknob as he ran to the back of your house"

"Why would he be startled by the doorknob if you two just got back? Unless you two been back here for a while and you two..."

"Cream, you're thinking too much about it. Nothing happened, but what brings you out here?"

"I was walking by and I saw you were standing outside, so I thought the door was locked and came to open it"

"Oh, thanks Cream. I didn't know if the door was locked or not, but I'll tell you about it in the morning. Goodnight Cream"

"Goodnight Amy"

Well, I tried to update this story by Christmas so this could be a Christmas gift for the people who were waiting for the next update for this story. Based on how many views this gets, I will happily continue this story and put it back in the rotation with the other two stories I've been working on. R&R and tell me what you think
