The Freedom Fighters are packing all of their things to head off to their next adventure. Sonic is hugging his brother and sister as they walk towards a road that splits into two separate paths.
"Remember, the family reunion with Mom in 3 months. Try to remember" Sonia reminds Sonic as he laughs.
"I'll be there Sonia, I promise. I love you guys" Sonic says as they group hug.
"Love you too!" Sonia and Manic say as they separate. Sonia takes one path as Manic takes another as Sonic watches them, but not too far, Knuckles and Rouge are watching as well.
"I'm surprised you didn't want to wish your girlfriend off," Rouge says as Knuckles sighs.
"She's not my girlfriend and I already parted ways with her. We're just friends and I'm happy that it stayed that way" Knuckles answer as Rouge snickers and leans toward him.
"Oh, and why is that?" Rouge asks as Knuckles turn towards her.
"I'm sure her boyfriend isn't the sharing type of person" Knuckles answers as Rouge shakes her head and leans away.
"And here I thought you were going to say that you liked someone else or something," Rouge says as Knuckles laughs. Being bold, Knuckles wraps his right arm around Rouge and pulls her close to him.
"I mean, I do like someone else. Though she is annoying and troublesome, life would be different without her in it" Knuckles explains as he looks at the sky. Rouge smiles as grabs Knuckles' chin and brings his face closer to her.
"Well, I don't plan on changing Knuckie, so better get used to it," Rouge says as they kiss.
Back with The Freedom Fighters, Tails is assisting the team with loading their things on the ship. Bunnie and Sally give Tails a hug.
"Try and remember to write just in case Sonic doesn't. He doesn't always take you with him when he decides to visit" Sally says as Tails nods his head. Rotor and Antonie waves at Tails as Sonic makes his way to the team. Rotor and Bunnie hug Sonic as Antonie waves. Sonic waves back as Sally approach him.
"See you later," Sally says
"See you later Sal," Sonic says as Sally hugs him. He returns the hug. They still like this for a couple of seconds as they separate. Sally gives him a quick kiss on the cheek as she gets on the ship. Sonic and Tails watch as they take off into the sky and onto their next adventure.
As they walk back, Tails asks, "So what now?"
"What do you mean buddy? It's on to our next adventure"
"Not that, I mean, with your love life. With you and Blaze?"
"I want her to be happy, but I can't keep her in this dimension. Just like I can't leave this dimension to be with her"
"Are you two going to wait for each other or just move on?"
"If she wants to, I won't stop her"
"What do you want?"
Sonic didn't answer as he sees Blaze hugging Cream. She notices that someone is watching her as she makes eye contact with Sonic. She smiles at him as she motions him that it's okay. Cream smiles and walks away
"Hey"
"Hey"
"Sonic, I know that we have our responsibilities and duties in our dimensions; and crossing over to see each other will be quite difficult to try and maintain. Also-"
"Blaze, I know what you're trying to say and I understand completely. I don't want us to completely hate each other from the lack of not seeing each other"
"So, we can be friends?"
"Of course. We can be friends"
Blaze smiles as she hugs Sonic. He hugs her back as he feels his right shoulder getting wet. He pulls apart as she smiles back at him as she uses the power of the Sol Emeralds to transport her back to her own dimension.
Silver watches not too far from Sonic as he turns to look for Amy. He finds her talking with Cream on the steps as he approaches them. Cream gives Amy one last hug before she enters the house. Silver sits where Cream previously sat at
"Hey"
"Hey. I assume Blaze already left"
"Yeah. She just said goodbye to Sonic"
"Did you get a chance to say goodbye to her?"
"We parted last night after you went looking for Sonic. She told me that she was going to break up with Sonic"
"Oh my god, is Sonic okay?"
"Yeah, apparently the feeling was mutual"
"Well, that's good at least"
A silence becomes between the two. Before Silver speaks, Amy covers his mouth as she wants to speak first, "Silver, don't you miss home? Your timeline?"
"I only went back briefly after the Solaris incident and it's, different. I have some friends that I see, but it's not like here" Silver says before removing Amy's hand from his mouth. He holds her hand as he rubs the back of it with his thumb.
"I know, but you know you will have to go back. You belong in the future and I belong here"
"I don't want to leave you"
"I don't want you to leave, but isn't staying here disrupt something along the line of space of time? I heard you and Tails speaking on this matter before"
Silver nods his head as he lets go of her hand, "Yeah, I can't stay too long here without messing up the future"
Amy nods as she stands up from the steps and walks around to face him.
"Then let's have this split be mutual. We will always be friends no matter what happens"
"Okay, but the minute I get a chance to come back, will you let me take you out on a date?"
"Sure Silver"
Silver smiles as he stands up and hugs Amy. Amy returns the hug as they separated moments later. Silver uses his abilities to send himself back to his time. Amy smiles as she walks around wandering to find her favorite blue hedgehog. She finds him sitting in the grass looking into the sky. She walks up to him as she taps him on the shoulder. He turns around, in shock to see that it was Amy, but smiles at her as he moves over for her to join him. She sits down next time and cradles her legs.
"Blaze left?"
"Yeah, Silver left?"
"Yeah. Are you going to miss her?"
"Yeah, but I'm not as sad as you think I am. I knew this was going to happen so I already prepared for it"
"Didn't you love her?"
"I cared about her and like her a lot, but I wouldn't say, love. I only loved once and it will take some time before I could love another"
"I understand. Though it was short, I do care about Silver, but I won't say that I love him. He did teach me something though"
"What was that?"
"Love will come to you when you're ready and you shouldn't chase after it. Go with the flow and only push when you think it's necessary"
"That's actually very wise"
Sonic and Amy look at each other and smile. As Sonic looks back at the sky, Amy scoots a little closer to Sonic to try and see what he's looking at.
"What are you seeing that I'm not seeing?" Amy asks as Sonic laughs.
"Honestly, I'm just enjoying the wind and thinking of any next adventure"
"You will always be a follower of the wind"
"I was a Knight of the Wind on one of my adventures, but you didn't believe me when I told you the story"
"I had my doubts, but I believe you Sonikku"
Sonic laughs as he feels Amy rests her head on his shoulder. He looks down to see she went to sleep. He smiles as he wraps an arm around her and pulls her close to him.
