Welcome back, Readers! I don't own anything in this story. On with the story!

It has been a couple of weeks since the Freedom Fighters left the group, and things return to normal, well, except for Amy. She receives letters from Silver but hasn't responded to a single one since he left from his last visit a couple of days ago. She doesn't know why, but when he asked, the lie just slipped out, "I've been busy, but don't worry, I'll write back soon." But soon never came.

"Hey Ames, deep in thought?"

Amy looks up to see Sonic staring down at her from the tree branch. These past couple of days, she did start to see Sonic a lot more than usual, which surprised her at first but now, she's happy. Maybe it took meeting different people for him to not always run away from her when she suggests them to go on a date.

"Just a little, but I'm alright. Why you're in a tree?"

"Well, it's Knuckles' turn to participate in Cream's tea party, and he's trying to get either me or Shadow to go in his place. Shadow is better at hiding than I am, so I'm just chilling in a tree until he spots me."

"Why don't he convince Rouge to come with him?"

"She 'disappeared' as soon as he got the reminder."

Amy laughs as she sees Knuckles approaching her. She looks up to see Sonic already gone from his spot on the tree. Knuckles look at the tree behind her before speaking. "Hey Amy, have you seen Sonic around?"

"No, I haven't seen him today. Have you checked with Tails to see if he was with him?"

"Yes, and Tails said the same thing you did. Are you hiding him?"

"I honestly haven't seen him, but why can't you go have tea with Cream? Her tea parties are actually fun."

"It's not me, and I already went to one this month. It's not fair. I have to go to another one."

"Well, you along with the rest of the guys decided that crazy method with Cream on how to decide who goes to the tea parties."

Knuckles sighs as he walks back to Cream's place with Amy shaking her head at him. She gets up to wander around the forest until she eventually sees Sonic and Shadow lying against a tree.

"And how long will you two be out here?"

"Not too long. Just until we know, he's there," Shadow responds as Sonic hums in agreement.

"Well, I'm off to go bake some cupcakes. And I saw Knuckles myself entered Cream's house, so you two are good."

"Fine, well, I'm off. Until next time Faker," Shadow says before he disappears. Sonic rolls his eyes as he stands up from his spot.

"Well, can I chill at your place for a while? I told Tails I would give him space to work on his projects," Sonic asks as Amy nods her head.

At her house, Amy finishes decorating the last of the cupcakes as she hears a noise coming from the couch. She walks over to see Sonic is sleeping with one leg hanging off the couch. She quietly giggles as she tiptoes over to grab a blanket and drape it over him. But before she could drape it, she feels Sonic grabs her wrist and pulls her into his arms. The cover now drapes both of them as Amy realizes she can't escape his hold.

"Sonikku?"

"Hmmm?"

"Could you let me go?"

"No, it's Knuckles' turn to go."

"No, Sonikku, you're holding me."

"You sshh...should rest"

"I'm not as tired as you think."

"If that's so, you cccan moove."

Amy pokes out her elbow, and he was right; she can move out his arms if she wants to, but she feels sleep in her eyes.

'Well, I guess a nap wouldn't hurt,' Amy thought to herself as she lays her head back down on Sonic's chest.

The sound of a phone startles them both awake as they both look at each other. It takes the phone ringing a third time before Amy moves off of Sonic to answer it. It was Cream asking if she finishes baking all the sweets. Then came a knock on the door as Amy waves Sonic to answer it.

"Hey Sonic, I see you decided to hide at Amy's place to avoid Knuckles."

"I wouldn't say hide Tails, but just a precautionary. Were you looking for me?"

"Yes, but I also wanted some sweets when I heard that Amy was baking today."

Sonic nods his head as he steps aside to let Tails in, followed by Shadow and Rouge.

"Well, I'm surprised to see you here, Big Blue."

"I was hiding from Knuckles. I'm surprised to see you here as well since you 'disappeared' this morning."

"The last tea party I went to became dress-up, and I wasn't going to experience that again. Her clothes were too small."

"You made it work," Sonic says as Shadow chuckles.

"Alright, everyone, you can take one of each until Cream and Knuckles come by," Amy says as everyone went to grab the different sweets. It took a couple of minutes for Cream and Knuckles to come by, which made Sonic and Shadow choking on their sweets.

Knuckles had two pink bows on the side of his head that anyone with eyes can see on his hair. Rouge tries to calm the two hedgehogs down as Amy approaches them.

"I see you two played dress-up?"

"Just a little. Mr. Knuckles let me put bows on his hair before we left," Cream says as Knuckles stares directly at Sonic with the look, 'Don't say a single word'.

"Well, I think he looks marvelous," Rouge says, trying to suppress a laugh.

Everyone enjoys the sweets and chat for hours before Cream has to leave before it gets too dark outside. Rouge offers herself, Knuckles, and Shadow to walk with her home with a death stare at the boys not to go against her as they left. Tails went to pack more snacks as Amy sits next to Sonic.

"Today was fun."

"It was. We have to get together more often and not just to celebrate another victory."

"Yeah. Well, do you want to grab more sweets before you head off?"

"I think Tails is grabbing enough for the both of us," Sonic says as they both look over at Tails with two bags filled with brownies and cookies. Tails smile as he flies outside the front door with Amy and Sonic slowly following behind.

Sonic steps outside the door, but not before turning around to look at Amy.

"Are you doing anything tomorrow?"

"I just got some shopping to do, and then I'll be at Cream's house."

"Mind if I tag along?"

"Sure! See you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow."

Sonic smiles as he quickly plants a kiss on Amy's cheek before speeding off to catch up to Tails. Amy presses a hand to her cheek as a blush overtakes her face. She closes the door and slides down onto the floor.

'Did he just kissed my cheek? Am I dreaming?' Amy thinks to herself as she pinches her arm. She jumps from the pain, but a smile plasters on her face when she realizes she isn't dreaming.
