Hey readers! I know it's been a whole year, almost two, since I wrote and for that I want to apologize without giving a heads up of my hiatus. But I am here to tell you that since I'm done with my first year of college, I will be working back into the groove of writing and hopefully finishing one of my three unfinished stories. Without further narration, here's the story
It was 8am when the alarm of a cell phone goes off. Kyoya grunts as he stretches out one of his arms to reach his phone and silence the ring. He puts his phone back on the nightstand. Kyoya feels someone shifts underneath him as he looks down to see Nicole is facing him and is gripping his shirt. Kyoya realizes that he is in Nicole's room and not back at his apartment..with Hikaru. Kyoya sighs as he quietly pulls his other arm from underneath Nicole, just to have her lay her head on his chest.
Kyoya: I don't know if you are awake and you still need to stay warm, or your sleepy self just need something to hold on to
Nicole, in a sleepy voice: Stay, don't leave just yet
Kyoya: Nikki, you know that it takes me a while to get to breakfast
Nicole: Then let me come with you
Kyoya: You know that Dragonite won't let you come and here about how much I'm getting. I'll never hear the end of it when it comes down to your birthday which just so happen to be next week
Nicole: Then stay in bed for another hour, thirty minutes at most. I'll turn on the radio so we can listen to music
Kyoya: Fine, thirty minutes then I'm out the bed
Nicole squeals as she leans back a little to cut on the radio as R&B music fills up the room. Nicole hums as she lays back down on Kyoya's chest. Nicole starts to make swirls and play tick tack toe with herself.
Nicole: Yoya?
Kyoya: Hm?
Nicole: If Hikaru calls you today, would you pick up your phone?
Kyoya: I honestly don't know. I mean, if she ask to meet up at a place to explain herself then sure. But if it's anything outside of that then I might hang up. I'm just so confused
Nicole: What do you mean?
Kyoya: It's not like the first day when I came back I immediately asked Hikaru out; I waited a while to see if she was even dating someone. I never receive any of the messages that I got while I was Jones
Nicole: You didn't? When was the last time you checked your Jones email?
Kyoya: Graduation day, why?
Nicole: Hand me your phone
Kyoya leans to get his phone and hands it to Nicole. Nicole unlocks his phone and goes to his Jones email, enters his password and searches for the recovery email. She opens the email.
Kyoya: What exactly are you doing?
Nicole: Jones made an individual program for all of us so we can receive any missed phone calls, text messages and voicemail throughout the four years. I must say, despite the fact you hate checking your voicemail, you have like 50 unread messages, 1K text messages and 100 phone calls. Most of the voicemail messages are from Hikaru, followed by that William boy
Kyoya: I don't even want to hear them. It's probably about the ups and downs of their four year relationship
Nicole: Well, if you don't want to listen to them, I will while you are going off to your meeting
Kyoya: I don't trust you with my phone for long periods of time, especially now
Nicole: Whatever Yoya, I just..
Nicole was cut off by the radio playing a familiar song that caught both Nicole's and Kyoya's attention. 'Shh' by Tevin Campbell starts to play as memories from Jones enters both of their minds.
Nicole: I remember when this song played at senior prom, I had to get you away from Jamie
Kyoya: Yeah I remember that too, I had to make up some random lie on why you grab me when we were supposed to be mad at each other
Nicole: Well, I always thought that we would go to prom together you know? But then so much drama happened and we fought even after we promised to not let it affect our relationship
Kyoya: And hear we are now, your boyfriend turned into a cheater and my girlfriend couldn't trust me enough to tell me that she was in a previous relationship and, well you know
The chorus plays as Nicole sits on Kyoya's lap facing him
Nicole: Kyoya, I know we are both still in a bad state right now and we just hope for some light to come from this. I know I won't be getting that because I caught him in the act, but there is still a chance for you and Hikaru to be happy
Kyoya: If she ever tells me maybe. I really don't want to know that she used William as some type of pass the time guy until I came back around. There could've been so many what ifs that could have made her still single
Nicole: Like what, what if we stayed together? Or you and Jamie actually went out for real?
Kyoya: Jamie and I will always be best friends that likes to flirt with each other. There's not a relationship name for that
Nicole starts to lay on Kyoya's chest as the chorus comes on again. Kyoya realizes that their noses is almost touching
Nicole: I know you are feeling what I'm feeling right now
Kyoya: I don't think it will be right of me to go with this feeling in the state that I'm in and the semi-state you are in
Nicole: It's not like we are lonely, we have people in our lives that we know we can rely on. This is just something that can make us both happy. Or do you not want to?
Kyoya: I'm not saying that, but I just don't want to you, you know, somehow hurt you as well
Nicole: Promise me once we do this, there is no emotion behind it. We are just simple trying to start the day off with a smile
Kyoya: I don't need this to have a smile on your face. Listening to you talk in your sleep was good enough
Nicole: Shut up and just let me kiss you
Kyoya laughs as Nicole kisses him on the lips
At breakfast, Kyoya and Dragonite were finishing up their conversation when Dragonite spots Hikaru and Madoka eating a few tables away from them.
Dragonite: I see Blue and Madoka. Did you happen to slip and told Ginga where we were going to be at?
Kyoya: Nope
Dragonite: Well, I made eye contact with Madoka on accident and now she's motioning Blue over to us
Kyoya: Is she actually getting up or trying to convince Madoka that she isn't ready yet?
Dragonite: You either know her way too well or just have eyes behind your head because that is what she's doing. Wait, Madoka is coming over here instead of Blue
Madoka: You guys can't even say her name anymore and you resulted to saying her hair color?
Kyoya: In my defense, Dragonite is referring Blue from Blue's Clues on how you have to gather three clues in order to solve the problem. The first clue is you coming over here to see if you can get anything out of me that could help her try to explain things to me
Madoka: Okay, I try asking Ginga and he said he wouldn't help me because of Hikaru. So what should she do because she is really sad about this
Dragonite: For starters, explain her relationship with William and why was it so bad that she couldn't tell him? Well besides the lie of him being her first. I mean, had Kyoya ever lied to her about anything, major or minor?
Kyoya: Exactly, and the fact of do I need to listen to any of her messages or not because Nikki finally told me how to revive the living dead of four years without communication from the outside world.
Dragonite: You're telling me that you never knew? Well I can't blame you because it took me a year to figure it out
Kyoya: I'm not even going to question why we never had this conversation in the group chat on if everyone has revive their old messages. Ginga is the only person who doesn't know yet
Madoka: Wait you mean you guys haven't listen to any of them?
Kyoya: Madoka, if you had a boyfriend during that time then I suggest you tell Ginga
Madoka: It's not that, it's just I had a little pregnancy scare so I was just blowing up his voicemail and I will feel embarrassed if he plays them
Dragonite: Interesting, well I'm sure Ginga won't embarrass you. We can have him play it for us if you want
Madoka: No no, it's okay. Anything else you want me to tell Hikaru
Dragonite: Any other guys should Kyoya know about that she was so scared to tell him
Madoka: You aren't Kyoya
Kyoya: Actually my curiosity been peaked, just tell her I just want honesty out of her for her to tell me what happen and to not stretch from the truth. I just want an honest girlfriend that's not afraid to tell me anything
Madoka: Alright, thanks Yoya
Kyoya: No prob, and tell Ginga to help you next time if it's a minor case
Madoka nods as she walks back to their table. Dragonite coughs at Kyoya and Kyoya gives her a side glance
Dragonite: So how was sleeping at Nikki's place?
Kyoya: Let's just say it's been a while since I stayed over there
Dragonite: But the guest room haven't changed that much since I been there right?
Kyoya: Jamie was in the guest room because her parents are out of town for two months
Dragonite: So you slept on the couch?
Kyoya: Getting warmer
Dragonite: You are telling me that you slept in the same bed as Nikki?! Please tell me yall didn't..
Kyoya: What type of guy do you take me for? All we did that night was slept but Nikki got cold so I held her
Dragonite: And this morning?
Kyoya: Nothing major
Dragonite: Kyoya
Kyoya: Nothing major that will break the cycle of our friendship and make things awkward for any of us
Dragonite: Thank you. Oh I forgot to give you your jacket yesterday so come to my house
Dragonite and Kyoya pays for their meal as they leave to head to Dragonite's place. At Dragonite's house, Ryuga was watching TV when Dragonite and Kyoya arrives. Ryuga looks up when he heard the door open.
Ryuga: Here to retrieve your jacket?
Kyoya: Yes, and did you know about the retrieval email from Jones?
Ryuga: About a few months ago was when I found out, Dragonite told me. Why, you just found out?
Kyoya: Yeah, Nikki just told me this morning and I had a lot of messages. Most of them are from Hikaru
Ryuga: I see, have you listen to any of them?
Kyoya: No, I was planning on later
Ryuga: Do you want the group to be with you when you do play them?
Kyoya: I don't know, maybe just us guys can listen to it
Dragonite: And have us girls out of the loop I think not!
Dragonite was coming down the stairs with Kyoya's jacket in hand as she was overhearing their conversation
Kyoya: I don't understand why you "girls" need to listen to it
Dragonite: I'm your best friend and I will beat you up, Jamie is your longest girl best friend ever and she have every right to know everything about you and Nikki, well, are you really going to try and hide it from Nikki when she was the one who even told you about it?
Kyoya: Fine I see your point
Ryuga: How about we come over Nikki's house later on tonight to hear the messages?
Kyoya: I guess that won't be so bad, but what if we run late? I don't know how much room Nikki is offering to you guys
Dragonite: There is a second guest room Yoya, but I claimed that room already. I could give it to the guys to stay at while Jamie and I share a room
Kyoya: First you almost attacked me because I told you I shared a bed with Nikki, now you are okay with it?
Dragonite: Well, you could leave Nikki all alone in her room while she's going through her issue of her boyfriend cheating on her
Ryuga: Man, she guilt tripping you isn't she?
Kyoya: Yea, but I don't think Nikki is ready to be alone just yet
Ryuga: Am I sensing lingering feelings?
Kyoya: No, you are sensing being a good friend in their time of need
Dragonite: It's definitely both
Kyoya: Whatever, I'll see you guys later
Kyoya waved them goodbye as he took off in his car. Dragonite smiles as she plops down on the couch next to Ryuga as he wraps his arm around her waist.
Dragonite: It's totally both
Ryuga: It may be both, but we are trying to make his life less stressful
Dragonite: But it's not our fault that it became that way
Ryuga: That may be true, but we can't have him thinking that he might still have romantic feelings for Nikki. I mean, we all thought that him and Jamie did and turns out that they were just being them but just added a few kisses here and there
Dragonite: I guess you are right
Ryuga: Guess?
Dragonite: Oh shut up
At Nikki's house, Kyoya walks inside to see Jamie and Nikki watching Pretty Little Liars.
Kyoya: I am so done with both of you
Jamie: Just because we have PLL on doesn't mean we like the show
Nicole: We love the drama that comes with it. No drama no watch
Kyoya: But you have to watch it to know if drama comes meaning that you guys like the show
Nicole: Anyway, how was breakfast?
Kyoya: Fine, ran into Madoka and Hikaru there but Madoka came to our table and did all of the talking
Jamie: Wow, and Hikaru just sat at the table waiting for feedback or something?
Kyoya: Madoka was trying to help out Hikaru on where to start from the beginning and Ginga decided not to help them so she came to me in person. Madoka could've texted me or something so she wouldn't have to deal with the blacklash of Dragonite
Jamie: It was going to come sooner or later
Kyoya: I guess, but how was Ryan?
Jamie: Shut up, he was amazing. He took me to the amusement park and we went for ice cream afterwards
Kyoya: It just hit noon like maybe half an hour ago and you already have ice cream? Why not give you thirty chocolate bars and a gallon of milk while he's at it
Nicole: Yoya hush, even though he makes a good point. Where is he taking you for a second date?
Jamie: That restaurant that Yoya and Gingi took us for prom, Krystals. There is one out here
Nicole: Ooooo I wanna go, Yoya take me there
Kyoya: Hmmmm, I'm thinking and thinking, the answer is on the tip of my tongue, it begins with the letter N and ends with an O
Nicole: Meanie *pushes Kyoya*
Kyoya: So violent for such a small person this early in the day. Anyway, the group wants to come over later on tonight to hear the messages
Jamie: What messages?
Nicole: Remember from Jones when they send us all the miss messages that we had for four years, Kyoya finally open his thanks to me
Jamie: Wow
Kyoya: I know, and Dragonite said they are staying over after just in case it runs over to the next day
Nicole: That's fine with me, it's just Ginga and Ryuga have to share a bed. I don't think Jamie want to share a bed with Ginga
Jamie: No offense, but I just don't want Madoka to get uncomfortable with me since we decide to share a bed over here
Kyoya: But it wouldn't be the first time though
Jamie: She doesn't know that
Nicole: So are we going to, you know
Kyoya: Yeah, I mean if you want to
Nicole: You know I don't have problem with it so
Kyoya: Then it's all good
Jamie: Is it really that hard to ask Kyoya to share a bed again? I mean you guys been doing this for how long
Kyoya: But we are older now with needs
Jamie: Shut up with your needs. I mean Nikki, you slept in the back of his car before and not even one time
Nicole: Yeah but it wasn't every time that we slept together. He sometimes slept in the back seats
Jamie: The point is you guys should be comfortable with this topic, and speaking of sharing a bed, what were you guys doing for like a whole hour?
Nicole: What are you talking about?
Jamie: I mean I knew that Kyoya had to get up early for his breakfast thing with Dragonite, but why were you up with him?
Nicole: I was comfortable and he moved
Jamie: Understandable, but what were you guys doing because it didn't sound like just talking
Kyoya: Jamie, I think you were hearing things
Nicole: Or the radio
Kyoya: Yeah, the radio was what you were hearing
Jamie: Okay, but it sounded like Nicole was telling you to stop doing something
Kyoya: Woahhhhhh your imagination might be going overboard just a smidge
Nicole: A smidge, you mean a whole bucket
Jamie: Whatever, I'm raiding your cabinet again, want something Yoya?
Kyoya: Whatever left of the chocolate muffins will do
Jamie gets up from the couch and heads into the kitchen while Nicole motions Kyoya to sit closer to her. When he does, Nicole hits him with her hand
Kyoya: Why are you hitting me?! You are the one without any volume control
Nicole: I would had have volume control if you wouldn't stopped tickling me
Kyoya: Awwww we have code words for things that we did
Nicole: Shut up, you need to learn to control yourself
Kyoya: If I remember correctly and I do, you were the one who was preventing me from getting up
Nicole: I told you thirty more minutes
Kyoya: 45 minutes had passed
Nicole: So?
Jamie: Ah, it's so fun watching you argue over things that I have no idea about
Nicole and Kyoya: Oh shut up Jamie!
Well, that's the chapter. Once again I'm sorry for not announcing my hiatus from writing because school occupied me and college. I will be working my way back to updating a lot more with this story and my other two ongoing stories as well.
