After what seemed like an eternity, the Yacht docked a few dozen feet from the beach of Long Bay, Jamaica. They were finally here.
It didn't take long for everyone, including the security officers to get off the yacht. Soon, they were all on the beach, ready to get to action.
"Who has the blood vials?" Chris called out on the beach.
"I do, sir" A security officer said, walking up behind him, carrying a medium sized wooden box.
"Good, good. Perfect" Chris said, grinning as he turned around to examine it.
"What's this?" Peter asked, looking at the box.
"I'll show you" Emmanuel said, stepping in front of the guard. He opened the box and inside were many glass cubes with a red center with that red center being blood, Peter assumed.
This is the blood of many business leaders, politicians, even some influential celebrities. Emmanuel took out a cube and examined a label and smirked.
"Perfect! Have a look at this" Emmanuel said, passing Peter the cube who examined it carefully and read the label. His eyes nearly popped out of his skull when he read who this blood belonged to.
"Am I reading this right? Elon Musk?! This is Elon Musk's blood?" Peter asked fanatically.
"The very same" Emmanuel said, almost proudly.
"How...how did you get it?" Peter asked, amazed.
"A little persuasion for some, briberies for others. We made sure to come prepared. We want to see up close what this baby can do" Emmanuel explained.
"Alright. Let's get going then" Peter said, putting the cube back in the box and closing the lid.
Suddenly there was a echoed yell in the distance. Everyone, including the Abstergo officers.
"Ah, it's just as I feared. The natives of this island are still present here, still isolated from modern day society" John said, shaking his head.
"Indeed…Peter…Just like we discussed last night, we need you to subdue them. Not kill but subdue…are you up for it?" Chris asked.
Peter hesitated for a bit before nodding.
"Yeah…I am" Peter said, determined.
"Good. We'll be behind. Yell when it's safe for us to move forward" Emmanuel said.
"Will do…see you on the other side" Peter said. He then began walking into the jungle of the bay.
As he crept through the trees and vines, he came across something mildly terrifying. Skeletons lined up, hanged from trees above, formerly belonging to bodies that rotted away.
"Well that's mildly terrifying. Something tells me I wouldn't have any more luck bringing in a bouquet of roses and a box of chocolates" Peter quipped to himself.
Peter walking through the jungle, up a hill through the jungle. So far, everything was quite. When he was at the top of the hill, the way downward led to a more open area of the jungle with a path laid out.
The young hero walked down the hill and on the path given.
"Hm…maybe they're not here after all. Maybe they died off" Peter said to himself.
This was yet again another scenario in which Peter shot his mouth off too soon as a man came up from a bush nearby. He was wearing a sort of mask, a hairy looking cape and a loin cloth for covering his…privates.
Peter's Spidey Sense suddenly went off and he ducked as the guardian threw a knife at him. He then shot a web at his right hand, covering it in his extremely sticky goop. The guardian looked in shock at what Peter just did. He let out something in his native tongue, becoming very scared at what just happened. He looked up to Peter as if he was a demon of some sort.
This was something to use to his advantage. He shot another web at his other hand at his feet too, encapsulating him in a web prison. The guardian was utterly terrified at this point, wondering just what this stuff was.
Peter ran up to him, ducked down and tripped them. The guardian fell to the ground with ease. Peter then moved his feet together and tied his feet together and did the same to his hands, fully disabling him temporarily.
At that moment, his spidey sense went off again and saw a guardian get up from another bush and come at him with a knife. It seemed his work here was far from over.
The teenaged Spider hero positioned himself as he braced for a long fight with these natives.
*Boat, South of Cuba, just north of Jamaica*
"Alright. We're about 25 minutes from Long Bay" Shaun said, relieved. He was tired of driving this boat.
"Good. So let's discuss how this is going to go down. The Observatory is located deep in the jungles of Long Bay, guarded by the natives I told you about a few nights ago. If my money is right, they're going to hold them hostage with Peter's help" AC explained.
"They're not wanting to kill them, are they?" Mary-Jane asked, having an issue with the idea of holding a native society hostage even if they were known to be extremely hostile.
"I don't believe so. At least not while Peter is with them. He believes them to have pure intentions and to want the better for society. Slaughtering an entire tribe wouldn't exactly put them on his side" Aapo said, rejecting the idea that the Templars would go that far...this time.
"Exactly, MJ. My Petey's a superhero, not a killer. He's way better than that" Liz said, lightly scolding Mary-Jane, fondly thinking of her ex.
Mary-Jane rolled her eyes while Gwen did a slight huff and glare towards the cheerleader.
"...Right. Ok. So anyway, if me and Aapo are right, they'll have guards scattered all around the jungle leading up to the temple that houses the device, holding the guardians hostage so they don't cause anymore trouble in case they escape. We'll go in, take care of the officers and free the guardians. If we help them out of a bad situation, they'll be less hostile to us so they won't be an issue afterwards. We'll give you a signal when it's time to continue down the jungle path. It'll continue all the way up until we get to the temple" AC explained.
"Hold up. What do you mean by 'take care of the officers'?" Gwen asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Well...we are Assassins..." AC said, raising an eyebrow.
"You're going to kill them?!" Mary-Jane asked, raising her voice.
"They're going to hold these guardians hostage at gunpoint. What exactly do you expect us to do? Walk up to them and ask for them to please stop holding these people hostage and not put a bullet through their heads? I don't think so" AC said, shaking his head.
"Yeah, unfortunately, there's very little we can do in that scenario. We may only kill as a last resort but we do kill when it comes to the safety of others" Shaun said from the helm.
"There has to be another way though. You think Peter will be more keen to just stop what he's doing if he has to walk through a bunch of dead bodies on the walk back to the boat even if it was to save another?" Gwen asked.
AC thought for a moment. She honestly did have a point. He thought about this for a while before he suddenly thought of something and whispered something to Aapo. Aapo's eyes brightened up and nodded.
"Good thinking, brother" Aapo said. He then walked to some storage box and opened it. Inside were a collection of rifles and blowpipes with an arsenal of darts.
"Are they still in good enough condition for use?" AC asked.
"I believe so. We check them every couple of months to make sure they're in good working condition" Aapo nodded.
"Alright, good, good" AC said. This would actually probably make things easier then just killing them.
"What is it?" Harry asked, trying to look and see what was happening.
"Air-Rifles and blowpipes. We used them a lot in the 18th century as an alternative to killing. We shoot one of these darts at an enemy and they go out like a light for an hour or two" AC explained, displaying a dart for the group. AC then picked up and held up a blowpipe while Aapo displayed the rifle.
"Cooool" Liz said, looking over at the two pieces of equipment.
"So...how do we use them?" Harry asked, looking up at the two.
"Uh...you won't be. We're going to use them. You're going to stay behind and wait until we get into the Observatory. Then, you can play your part and talk some sense into Peter" AC explained, scolding at the idea.
"Wait a minute, hold up! We're Peter's friends and we want to play a part in his rescue from these creeps. We want in" Liz insisted.
"No! They may spare you if something drastic happens and we don't succeed (Which we will) but they won't if they see you coming at them with rifles. Forget it" AC said, not buying it.
"We'll be careful! We promise! Look...I've done some pretty things over the past few months and I want to atone for them. I really do and I want to do whatever it is in my power to make sure we save Peter from these people's influence….please...I want my best friend back" Harry said, passionately, looking at the two with sad and regretful eyes.
Rebecca smiled and gave knowing eyes towards AC who noticed and rolled his eyes. He looked to Aapo and shrugged. The West Indies Mentor thought for a moment before nodding.
"As long as they do what we say, they should be fine. Besides, we'll be there to help if things don't go as planned" Aapo said, rationalizing the idea.
AC gave a sigh of defeat. "Alright. Fine...but you better listen to whatever we say when we say it. I wasn't kidding when they said they would do anything to achieve their goals and today is definitely no exception. Listen to what we say or we'll use these darts on you. Got me?"
The 4 of them nodded, understanding clearly and not wanting to be shot by a scary hooded man.
"Good. Now come on. We're going to do some quick training before we get to Long Bay" AC announced.
*Long Bay, deep jungle*
Peter tied webbings around the hands and ankles of another group of guardians. They seemed to be the last of them in the region. His Spidey Sense wasn't going off.
"All clear here!" Peter called out behind him. Emmanuel, Chris, John and Abstergo guards appeared from behind him. Chris signaled two guards to watch over the guardians. They held their guns to them.
Peter was really uncomfortable with that. He understood why it needed to be done but it just didn't feel right.
"Hey, guys...we're not going to be hurting these people, are we? I mean I feel a bit queasy just by tying them up like this. They may be territorial but they're not evil...as far as I know anyway" Peter said, scratching his head.
"Don't worry, Peter. Everything will be fine. These people aren't strong enough or have the necessary tools to cut through your webbings and even then, this is just a precaution in case they try to hurt our officers" Emmanuel explained.
Peter thought for a moment and then nodded.
"Just making sure" Peter said, a little relieved.
"No trouble. If I'm right, we should nearing the Observatory any minute now. Go on, Peter. Home stretch" Chris encouraged.
Peter again nodded and continued down the jungle path. He continued running until he came across something rather peculiar, something he didn't think he would see int this jungle.
It was a kind of metal staircase. Now if it was just metal, then that wouldn't have really been a big deal but this seemed to be crafted with the precision and design it had. Peter was stunned for a second before climbing over it. However, what was at the top made his eyes nearly pop out of his skull.
It was...some sort of temple or tomb made fully out of some metal he'd never seen before. It looked old and ancient yet looked more advanced than some buildings even in New York today. He could hardly get his mind off it until his spidey sense went off.
A yell was all he heard from behind him before he jumped high up in the air, causing the guardian to dash forward, knife in the hand towards the ground.
Peter quickly tied his hands and feet together with webbings before moving on. He scanned the area and saw two more guardians guarding what seemed to be the entrance to the Observatory. He decided to do this quickly.
Crouching down, he quietly snuck towards the front of the entrance, hiding in large bushes. When he felt he was a close enough distance from them, he shot up from the bushes and quickly shot webs at them.
Peter fired long shots of webs toward them. They were both quickly tied up in his webs. He walked up towards them.
"Don't worry. We won't be here long. Just don't make a scene is all we ask of you" Peter said to them, even though he didn't believe they understood a word he was saying. He felt as if the common courtesy would be appreciated though.
"Alright. That's the last of them! We should be clear to enter now!" Peter called out.
Soon enough, the group, including 4 Abstergo guards came through the jungle and up the hill to the entrance of the Observatory.
"This is it? The Observatory?" Peter asked as he looked around, still amazed by this architecture, not expecting anything like this from an ancient temple.
"Indeed. An almost sacred place" John said, beginning to lead the way as he was the only one who could open it.
They soon made their way up to what seemed to be the front doors.
John then took out a small pocket knife from his pocket and held it up to his thumb.
"Hey, whoa. What are you doing?!" Peter exclaimed, widening his eyes.
"I told you before, Peter, the blood of a Sage is required to enter the Observatory" Emmanuel said, indifferent to what was happening.
"Oh yes, I remember. Still, at least warn a guy" Peter said, phewing, remembering the conversation he had with Emmanuel on the jet.
John winced in pain as he swiftly cut his thumb with the knife. Blood started to eject from the finger. He then walked over to what looked to be the door, which seemed to be some sort of array of pillars all clustered together, and pressed his thumb onto it.
A bright light of sketches of what looked to be designs of some sort emitted from the doors before disappearing disappearing again, like a ripple of some sort.
The door pillars then began to move down from the top of the doorway, revealing an entrance to the tomb.
"And so the door opens again...after almost 300 years" John announced as the Observatory made itself available again to the world.
