Two weeks later
Nicole is sitting on the couch eating ice cream in an oversize hoodie watching tv as Jamie walks in
Jamie: Sis, go talk to him
Nicole: You don't think I tried? I called him and it keeps going to voicemail, when I text him he doesn't acknowledge it, and you saw how the movie night went yesterday. He was physically trying to ignore me
Jamie: I saw, but he's hurting still. You never told me why you turned him down
Nicole: I didn't want to, but if you had a chance to reconnect with an ex that you still have feelings for, would you go for it?
Jamie: Depends on the ex; just because I still have feelings for that person doesn't mean I want to rekindle anything
Nicole: They probably have by now
Jamie: I wish I could tell you, but Ryuga and Ginga are keeping their mouths shut about it every time I ask them anything. Even something as simple as if they are still living together
Nicole: He probably told them not to tell us anything, do you think Dragonite knows?
Jamie: We can ask her, but who knows. Are she and Ry on good terms?
Nicole: They are talking again, but that's as far as I know
As if they talk her name, Jamie's phone buzzes with her name showing on the Caller's I.D.
Dragonite: Hey, is Nikki by you?
Jamie: She is, why?
Dragonite: Don't make me repeat this, but we are going to Hikaru's party tomorrow
Nicole: Why the hell are we?!
Dragonite: Listen! Ginga invited us over and say even if we didn't want to enjoy the festivities, we can chill at his house, but he would like for all of us to be in one spot and not feel the tension on extremely high
Nicole: Wait, why is the party at his place?
Dragonite: She asked to use his backyard to have an outdoors party since he has the biggest space and he agreed so Madoka doesn't have to travel much since she's getting bigger
Jamie: Understandable. Yeah we will be there
Nicole: He really thinks Kyoya, or should I say, Hikaru, won't make a big deal of me being there
Dragonite: He said, it's his house, his rules. He knows more about anything than we do combine so Kyoya must not mind
Nicole: His actions and his words are confusing
Dragonite: So are yours but we are not going into that. I'll see you guys tomorrow and text you, Jamie, the details
Jamie hangs up the phone and looks at Nicole with a big smile
Nicole: This doesn't prove anything, he could've been talked into it
Jamie: The fact that he letting this happen without a single message sent to you about not coming shows that he still cares about you
Nicole: Whatever you say, not I got to pick an outfit that doesn't show the little weight I put on
Jamie: "Little?!" That is up for debate, but let's find an outfit
The girls travel upstairs to argue for a few hours on the perfect outfit, meanwhile, Hikaru is at Ginga's place with the planner getting last-minute things arranged.
Ginga's house
Hikaru: Thanks again, Lily! Everything looks amazing! I can't believe you work from home
Lily: No problem, Hikaru! I'm still saving up for an official office to plan out all the magic, but for now, I'm home so I can spend time with my daughter as I work
Hikaru: You don't even look like a mom, how old is she?
Lily: She's three years old and I'll take that as a compliment. I got pregnant young, but I have an amazing support system
Hikaru: If you don't mind me asking, is the father involved?
Lily: He wasn't because he didn't know, but I finally told him and he was more than excited to be in her life
Hikaru: I'm so happy for you!
?: Happy for who about what?
The girls turn around to see Ginga walking up to them. Lily smiles at him and let out a small giggle that got Ginga to look at her
Hikaru: Thanks again Ginga for letting me use your place for my party
Ginga: I told you it was no problem. Now Madoka won't have to go through any of her emotions on why she wished she could be there
Hikaru: That's true, and this Ginga is my party planner Lily. Lily, this is Ginga, the man who owns this place
Lily: This place looks bigger than how Gabby described it to me
Ginga: Well, it's a perception thing from when you see it from a car. I forgot you love planning events
Lily: Still do and making a career out of it
Hikaru: Wait, you two know each other?
Ginga: Went to high school together
Lily: Small word huh Hikaru
Hikaru: Very small indeed. So I take it you were also at the reunion too?
Lily: Yeah, it wasn't too bad going for if you're around the right people, it'll make things fun
Ginga: That's true
Hikaru: Well, I'm going to check in on Madoka. Lily, you can give Ginga a tour of everything so he has at least an idea of how I'm transforming his yard
Lily: Sure thing! Let me show you where all the tables and food are going
Hikaru takes a double look at them before heading into the house. Ginga and Lily waits a couple of seconds after Hikaru entering the house for Lily to hold onto Ginga's arm as she leads him around explaining her vision and ideas
Lily: Baby daddy got money
Ginga: Shut up lol, I already told you how I get paid
Lily: I like to tease you. You could've told me that I was planning a party at your place
Ginga: I usually am in the house or out when Hikaru was here so I didn't know
Lily: So that's the girl that Kyoya was with?
Ginga: Yeah, but it was complicated then
Lily: And now?
Ginga: I can't tell you because you'll tell Gabby and Gabby will tell Nikki
Lily: Even if I swore to secrecy?
Ginga: I promise Kyoya I wouldn't tell anyone, even you Lily
Lily: Fine, I'll accept the answer if you call baby momma one time
Ginga: Fine Baby momma
Lily: Good
They both laugh at each other as Ginga leads her inside his house to see Hikaru and Madoka eating cookies
Ginga: One of our agreements Hikaru was limiting her sweet intake
Hikaru: She only had two so far
Madoka: And I'm an adult! I can eat as many cookies as I want
Ginga: Remember what the doctor said about cutting down on your sugar?
Madoka: Whatever Mom! I'll just eat these chips then
Hikaru: Madoka, this is Lily, the party planner I hired
Lily: Nice to meet you Madoka
Madoka: Likewise, you look familiar in pictures that Ginga showed me
Ginga: Lily was a survivor at Jones as well
Lily: *playfully hits Ginga's shoulder* Stop making it sound like it was boot camp
Ginga: Might as well be at times
Lily: Dramatic for no reason
Hikaru: Lily was also telling me about her daughter
Madoka: You're a mom too?! Any advice for a newbie like me?
Lily: I'm still pretty new too, but the best advice I have is everything won't be perfect, so it's okay to make a mistake or not know everything because this is all new. I had my mother and my best friend to help me
Madoka: How old is she?
Lily: She's three, my little angel
Madoka: Where is she while you're here?
Lily: With my mom. Anytime my job requires me to leave to actually see the venue, my mom is nice enough to watch her. I can't always assume that the places that I go are baby-friendly
Hikaru: Well, if you want, you can bring her tomorrow during set-up
Lily: I couldn't impose. She starts off shy to get a feel for people then all the burst of energy comes out of nowhere if she likes you. Otherwise, she stays quiet and acts like she can't talk
Ginga: Bring her along and I can watch her. Hikaru will either be outside with you or with Madoka and I'll just be around waiting for the guys to show up so I'll just keep an eye on her. Plus it'll be great practice for when it's Madoka's time
Madoka: You're right, but wait, why wouldn't you be with me?
Ginga: I learned to let you be when you eat because we can't share food, plus you tend to fall asleep and I don't have to watch you sleep anymore. I'll still be in the room, just not underneath you
Lily: Well okay I'll bring her. She won't stay the whole time though
Ginga: That's fine
Lily: I'll be here around 9 o'clock tomorrow morning to set up Hikaru
Hikaru: Great, we'll be up and ready
Madoka: You'll be up and ready. I'll wake up when I do
Ginga: I'll walk you out Lily
Lily shakes both Hikaru's and Madoka's hands as Ginga leads her out the kitchen to the front door. Madoka gives Hikaru a look as Hikaru roll her eyes at her
Hikaru: I already know what you're thinking
Madoka: Do you think she's the ex that Ginga avoids talking about?
Hikaru: If she is, wouldn't he even talk to her as much as he did today?
Madoka: You have a point, but I feel a connection between those two
Hikaru: They went to school together and probably saw each other at the reunion. They're friends, to say the least, but I don't know about anything more. She doesn't look like his type
Madoka: You're right about that. Speaking of type, how's Kyoya?
Hikaru: He's fine, but you were right. I'm just glad things are good between us after talking
Madoka: Me too. so there won't be any type of awkwardness right?
Hikaru: Hopefully not. Did Ginga tell you about how he invited her, Jamie, and Dragonite?
Madoka: Yeah, but they are all still friends last time I asked him. He just told me that he gave them the option to enjoy the party and if not, they can stay in the house. That's fine with me
Back at the front of the house, Ginga is walking Lily to her car. She unlocks her car as she leans against the driver's side
Lily: They both seem nice
Ginga: I bet you $5 they are talking about the two of us and how 'close' we are
Lily: Now you shut up. I can see why you married her, she seems like a great person to know
Ginga: She is, until the mood swings and the cravings and the needy
Lily: You'll get past it
Ginga: and the libido
Lily: I helped you once, that's all you can get out of me right now
Ginga: So are you going to bring our daughter over tomorrow?
Lily: I am. You're finally going to meet your baby girl Airi. Don't worry, I showed her pictures of you so she has an idea of who you are
Ginga: Does she know me by name or title?
Lily: She likes calling you Red because of your hair. One time I was overhearing her with my mom and she pointed to a picture and said "Daddy", but hopefully you'll find out tomorrow
Ginga: Alright. Text me when you get home
Lily: I will
She enters her car and drives off as Ginga walks back into the house
Later that night
Ginga and Madoka are getting ready for bed as Madoka stares into the back of his head. Feeling eyes on him, Ginga rolls over to face Madoka
Ginga: Back bothering you?
Madoka: Not my back, but, I know this is going to sound silly, but...are you and Lily just friends?
Ginga: Yes, Lily and I are friends.
Madoka: Just friends, like your relationship with Jamie
Ginga: Ahhhh, my relationship with Lily is similar to Jamie, but there are differences
Madoka: Like?
Ginga: I knew Jamie longer than Lily. I only met Lily during my first year at Jones, but we weren't friends until the second semester
Madoka: Did you two date?
Ginga: *smiles* Are you jealous because she's blonde and I told you I used to have a thing for blondes?
Madoka: Maybe
Ginga: There's nothing to be jealous about. I married you because I love you and no one else. Now, let's get some sleep since one of us have to be up with Hikaru at 9 am
Madoka: Good night
Ginga: Good night
Ginga kisses Madoka on the cheek as he rolls back over to charge his phone, but before he puts it down, he got a new message from Lily. He peeks over at Madoka to see she is already asleep before opening the message to see a picture of Lily and Airi with the message 'Good night 3'. Ginga smiles as he texts back a good night and closes his eyes.
