Max spent all Sunday next to the phone waiting for, no, dreading the call from Roxanne he thought was inevitable. As the sun passed its peak and began to set Max started to wonder if Roxanne would call. At times he thought he might call and put an end to his waiting but decided he'd better not call one second before Roxanne was ready. After a day's waiting the sun set and the day was wasted.

The next day Max got up went to school and entered his first class. From the second Roxanne entered the classroom the tension was palpable. This tension would last till lunch time when the two would finally be able to talk and a volcano one and a half days in the making would erupt.

Max sat at a table next to PJ and placed down and opened his backpack in one smooth motion. He then took out his sandwich and put the backpack back on his back. Max managed to take and swallow one bite before Roxanne sat down opposite him and slammed her lunch down on the table.

"WHAT DID YOU DO THE OTHER NIGHT!?!?" Roxanne finally erupted.

"What did I do?! I almost got drugged, made sure you got home safe, and tried to catch the perp! That's what I did!" Max shot back.

"Yeah! That's what he did!" add PJ.

"STAY OUT OF IT PJ!" the two shouted in unison, temporarily redirecting their wrath toward PJ for one hot second.

"OK, OK, I know when I'm not wanted."PJ said before getting up and going. After PJ left there was a short pause while the two recollected their thoughts.

"So you expect me to believe some unknown perp came by and randomly decided to drug us?! I've heard some bad lies but that one takes the cake!" Roxanne exclaimed indignantly.

"Well how else do you" Max started to retort when he chose instead to take a breath and reply with. "It make no sense for me to have drugged both our drinks and then send you home safely with nothing more than a kiss to show for my trouble."

"Yeah and you're lucky you got that..." Roxanne started before pausing to think. She then sighed and conceded "I guess it doesn't make any sense for you to have drugged me, but still that begs the question who would want to do that?"

"I don't know. I asked Bobby and he said that a pudgy ghost did it but that doesn't narrow it down enough to make a solid accusation."

"Well whoever did it doesn't seem to have given up on framing you yet. Don't touch but there's an important piece of evidence in your backpack's right pocket." Roxanne said pointing toward that pocket as an amused smile developed on her face. she then pulled out a sandwich bag and an extra plastic wear packet and moved in to grab the evidence. "Hold still. We can't get any prints on it, especially either of ours." She said as she went to scoop plastic bottle into the bag with a plastic spoon. Unfortunately the bottle slipped out at the last moment and went careening toward the floor.
