Well... that chapter is def M rated- you have been warned!
Leah
Surprisingly, it didn't take her long to find him.
It was as if, since leaving Sam's pack, her senses had sharpened even more when it came to tracking down other wolves. Maybe it was the inner urge to find a new pack that made her search easier.
Her paws carried her quickly through dense forest and she left a trail of destruction in the fern with her massive body.
As his scent grew stronger, her steps slowed. Since she couldn't hear him, she wanted to prevent him from mistaking her and maybe attacking her too. Not that she couldn't fight back.
Behind her she felt the presence of Carlisle, who followed her with a respectful distance and she wasn't sure whether she smelled his scent or felt his presence purely through her bond.
He had insisted on going with her and although she was vehemently against it, he had won in the end. Apparently the wolf had lost its teeth - at least when it came to Carlisle. Seth made the statement only once, she had made sure of that.
She wasn't sure where his thought came from, she doubted it was a pure protective instinct.
It almost seemed as if he needed the time away from home and his family and immediately took the opportunity to hunt. Of course Leah didn't mind it. The idea that he just liked being around her was more than welcome.
In the distance she heard a deep growl and she stopped immediately. Carlisle appeared next to her and she pressed his head lightly against his hard body. He understood her immediately and stayed in his position as she carefully approached the source of the noise.
"Leah?"
Jacob stomped out of the thick fern, obviously not bothering to wear clothes. Leah saw from the corner of her eye how Carlisle took off his sweater and held it out to her with his eyes closed, waiting for her to change. She knew he would never sneak a peek. It just wasn't in his nature and Leah had to admit, cute as his polite manner was, it was annoying at times.
In one quick movement she was already on her legs and felt the scratchy forest floor on her bare feet. Jacob didn't avert his gaze, of course, but she wouldn't have expected that either. She quickly grabbed the sweater and pulled it over her head. It was actually more for Carlisle, Jake had seen her naked more times than her own mother. Getting into a wolf pack entailed the loss of privacy.
"Everything alright?"
Jake's voice was only slightly troubled and he looked back and forth between Carlisle and her.
"Bella wants to see you."
A puff came towards her. Even without the bond, she sensed his dislike. He was against attacking the Cullens, but that didn't mean he was okay with the whole thing.
"Well. We all want some thing or another."
There was a bitterness in his voice Leah recognized only too well as her own. Unfortunately, she knew exactly how he felt and could therefore hardly say anything against it.
"Please Jacob, I think she would be better if you were with her."
Carlisle's voice flowed like honey and was so fine and delicate that it sounded like a melody. Jake narrowed his eyes and Leah knew he was about to say something rude. She took a threatening step towards him and glared at him warningly. Jake's eyes flickered to her and he swallowed his words.
"Jake, she needs you."
We need you.
The sentence stayed in Leah's head, but everyone could hear it. The boy sighed and let his gaze wander through the forest.
Two wolves against Sam's pack were clearly not enough and Leah knew that Jake would never forgive himself if he didn't do everything to protect Bella.
Finally he nodded and Leah had to admit that she was surprised.
She didn't think it would be that easy but deep down - after a large portion of immaturity and arrogance, Jacob was a good person. And he did everything to protect those he loved.
She felt the heat emanating from him and suddenly she was facing a red-brown wolf. The transformation caused a familiar tug on her too, and she felt her bones want to transform.
But she stopped.
As Jacob trotted past them and Carlisle looked at her questioningly, she suddenly realized one thing.
They were alone.
There was no one here who could hear or smell them. Jacob was already far enough away to suspect anything.
Such an opportunity would not come up again.
The scent that emanated from his sweater and mixed with hers crept into her nostrils and she automatically inhaled deeply. Her gesture was not hidden from him and when she looked at him, she looked into pitch black eyes.
Suddenly he was standing right in front of her and she felt her pulse increase, whether it was from his proximity or the speed with which he had moved, she couldn't tell.
Carefully he ran his fingers over her cheek, over her jawbone and finally down her neck. Leah's body trembled slightly from the gentle touch and Carlisle's gaze suddenly became concerned.
"Are you cold?"
Leah huffed a laugh and raised an eyebrow. Hadn't he noticed that wolves couldn't get cold?
Still shaking her head in amusement, she took a step closer. Carlisle's dark eyes followed his fingers and his gaze waned imperceptibly. Suddenly he no longer looked like the 400 year old head of a vampire clan, but like a 23 year old insecure man who was still desperately looking for his place in the world.
His lost expression pained her and Leah gently grabbed his upper arm. His gaze immediately wandered to her eyes and she gasped when she saw the pain and worry in them.
Apparently he had done everything to pull himself together for the good of his family, not to panic or give up. But at that moment, he looked so vulnerable that Leah would do anything to wipe his worries away.
Leah reached up and lightly touched his cheek with her lips. She felt how he closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
His hand stopped and he only focused on her touch. Slowly and carefully she kissed her way until she reached his lips. His lips were soft and slightly parted, an invitation Leah couldn't refuse.
What surprised her was the intensity with which he kissed her back. He put a tight grip on her and pressed her to him. She was sure that she would probably have a bruise or two from it, but she didn't care. He clutched the blue sweater and hugged her even tighter. The act took her breath away for a moment and his grip relaxed immediately. She could feel his despair and played with the soft blond curls on the back of his neck.
The kiss intensified and as she wrapped her legs around his waist, he groaned loudly. He didn't move an inch under her weight and still held her tight.
Suddenly she realized that she had nothing on except his sweater and felt his enthusiasm for her on her most sensitive point. A low growl ran down her throat and she gasped in surprise when he attacked her throat. He ran his tongue along the crescent-shaped scar and she was sure she had never felt anything like it. Suddenly she felt something hard, rough behind her, apparently he had pressed her against a tree.
"Leah, tell me to stop."
His voice was strained and swallowed up by her throat. Leah would have laughed out loud if she hadn't been so breathless herself.
As if she could tell him to stop.
His answer was unequivocal.
With a rough movement she pulled his shirt out of his pants, trying to keep her impatience in check. After all, they had to go home at some point and they should not be naked.
When he felt her warm fingers on his skin he sighed loudly, she felt his cool breath on her collarbone and pressed him even closer to her with her legs.
The contact with the rough fabric of his pants made her moan and satisfied she noticed how he attacked her neck again with kisses and gentle bites. Her patience was actually put to the test, because during his excruciatingly glorious touches, unbuttoning his shirt in peace was almost impossible.
He growled when he noticed her frenzy and she moved her hips in his direction to increase the contact. She heard wood splinter and saw from the corner of her eye how his hand next to her clawed into the solid bark.
The desire in her got possibly stronger and he too tried desperately to control himself.
"Leah .."
The pleading in his voice broke her heart. He was probably pleading for her to stop him, or begging for more contact - or both. His hand went under her sweater and ran down her side as if she were the most precious thing he had ever held in his hands. With one swift movement she led his hand to where she wanted it and Carlisle gasped out of breath. There was another creak behind her and the earth shook, his free hand clawed the bark and Leah could smell the resin that was underneath. Timidly he explored her breasts and Leah pressed her eyes shut. Despite his inhuman strength, his hands were so gentle that she almost couldn't stand it. Only incidentally did she notice how the hand trembled slightly and how he struggled for control.
That she had such an effect on him reinforced the high she was on and his body vibrated as she pulled his pants down in one swift motion. It seemed as if she was stripping the last bit of control from him with his pants, because with the growl that came out of his throat, he also tore the sweater that separated them from each other.
He leaned back slightly and Leah almost didn't recognize him.
His eyes were black and greedy, they ran down her body and sparkled with desire and fascination. Eventually she couldn't stand the standstill any longer and pulled him close again. His skin on hers was a collision between ice and fire, and they both groaned. It was a feeling she didn't know until now and she was amazed at how much she wanted it. It was no longer a wish, it was a compulsion. She had to have him no matter what.
It happened so quickly and yet it wasn't rushed. They had just waited far too long for it, Leah was sure of that. His movements were no longer controlled and she felt the tree slowly but surely give way behind her. When he finally released her swollen lips, she kissed his pale neck. The skin was softer than anything she had known before and he threw his head back with relish.
It didn't take her much to achieve what she was promised from his touches. The climax came faster and much stronger than expected. It flooded through her, grasped her as a whole and only released it after a few moments.
His whimpering and rumbling, the hissing when he came and his hands that were everywhere and apparently couldn't touch enough of her were what drove her even more and she couldn't help but thank her wolf.
He hadn't been wrong about Carlisle.
On the contrary.
A loud creak and a deafening bang told her that the mighty fir tree behind her had given up.
Carlisle held her securely in his arms, pressed his forehead against hers and stared into her dark eyes. He looked at her with so much admiration and love that she was breathless. It was as if he couldn't believe she was here with him. As if she was the greatest gift he had ever received and he didn't know how he deserved it.
She gently ran through his now disheveled blond curls and his mouth twisted into a mischievous grin. For the first time in days there was no sadness or despair, no helplessness or fear in his eyes. She found only pure happiness and contentment in it.
It took her so long to realize that Carlisle was her missing piece of the puzzle. In all respects.
Sure, a quicky against a tree in the middle of a forest wasn't what Carlisle might have imagined for their first time - she already knew him that well - but it was what they both needed.
And one thing was certain for Leah - it wouldn't be the last time. Come what may.
