Transformers Fall of Cybertron: Joining the Exodus

Corvowing and his army of Autobots are preparing to use his foreknowledge of the Fall of Cybertron video game to make sure that some things are changed. With Shockwave and the Insecticons as Autobots in this timeline, it's only a matter of time before the Ark leaves Cybertron. Will Corvowing's efforts ensure the arrival to Earth? Rated T. 9. The Final Countdown

Transformers Fall of Cybertron: Joining the Exodus.

Chapter 9: The Final Countdown.

(Author's notes: There's not really much to say except enjoy chapter 9: The Final Countdown.)

Megatron managed to jump out of the hole in the floor of the Decepticon Dropship before it could crash with him in it.

And with his personal deployment of Soldiers having evacuated a cycle in advance, Megatron was impressed that at least a few of his Soldiers actually had the foresight to save themselves.

Megatron notes the aerial defenses surrounding the crater Trypticon made several Earth weeks ago when he fell out of orbit.

Megatron remarks, "Interesting. The Autobots have built air defenses near the crater."

Megatron proceeds through a tunnel as Soundwave contacts him and says, "Megatron, scans indicate heavily guarded gates up ahead."

Megatron replies, "Soundwave, fly ahead and find a data entry to unlock the gate. Notify me when you are in position!"

Soundwave replies back, "As you command, Megatron."

Megatron proceeds to the other side of the tunnel with the Teletraan terminal, finds a group of Autobot Scouts patrolling, and he calls out, "Forward, Decepticons!"

An Autobot Scout states in a horrified tone, "It's Megatron! He functions!"

Megatron calls out, "Run, Autobots! Megatron lives!"

Megatron kills all the Autobot Scouts sent to stop him.

Megatron progresses to a corner and hover jumps to the next area.

Soundwave contacts his master and advises, "Megatron, I've successfully located a data point."

Megatron replies, "Hack it, Soundwave!"

Megatron contends with some Autobot Soldiers of various bright colors.

An Autobot Soldier calls out over the commlink, "Scouts, do you have visual contact! Repeat, do you have visual contact?"

An Autobot Scout replies, "We have every kind of contact, sir!"

Megatron manages to plow through the Autobots posted in the sector. If only because he somehow managed to regain his ability to drain Energon from his targets.

Megatron progresses to another area.

As Megatron gets fired upon, an Autobot Soldier calls out, "Hit him! Hit him! Hit him!"

Another Soldier replies, "We ARE hitting him!"

The same Soldier replies back, "With what?! Insults?! Someone put some ordinance on that target!"

Megatron progresses through the area, slaughtering dozens of Autobots sent in multiple waves to stop him.

Megatron progresses to a blast door.

Soundwave states over the commlink, "Megatron, I am lifting the first gate!"

The blast door opens as Megatron replies, "Excellent! Now locate Trypticon's position!"

Megatron kills two Autobot Soldiers and two Autobot Shotgunners already inside the entrance and starts to walk further inside.

Megatron looks at several Autobot corpses and different Cybertronian firearms stacked up. Megatron remarks, "Oh, how I've missed destroying things!"

Megatron progresses to the top floor of the command center, finding Rumble, Frenzy and Laserbeak beating up some Autobot Soldiers with several Decepticon Soldiers cheering on them while Soundwave works.

Megatron passes Rumble and remarks, "No mercy, Rumble!"

Megatron approaches Soundwave as Laserbeak flies onto his arm and states, "Soundwave, report!"

Soundwave replies, "Megatron, there is a significant power source in a facility nearby."

Megatron replies back, "Feed me the coordinates!"

Laserbeak flies to a perch as Megatron leaves the command center.

Megatron calls out, "Soundwave, open the bridge on the far side!"

Soundwave replies, "Yes, Megatron!"

The bridge on the far side is opened and lowered for Megatron to get across.

As Megatron makes it across the bridge, an Enforcer switches to attack mode as an Autobot Soldier calls out over the commlink, "Blocking positions! Hold that line! Hold that gate!"

Megatron switches to his tank mode and fires Mega-Concussion Cannon rounds at the Enforcer, eventually managing to destroy it with five rounds.

Megatron slaughters the next Autobot batch and enters a room with an Energon cabling.

Soundwave contacts Megatron and advises, "Megatron, follow the cabling. The Autobots appear to be using Trypticon's power core as a source of Energon."

Megatron snarls calmly, "A bold move. The Autobots leeching off of Trypticon's power core for Energon. I didn't think Optimus had it in him."

Megatron follows the cable route while dealing with some Autobots on the way.

Megatron hover-jumps to the next ledge as an Autobot Soldier calls out, "He's here for Trypticon! Don't let him get past the gates!"

Another Autobot Soldier replies, "That may be a problem, sir!"

The same Autobot Soldier in charge replies back, "There's no problem that can't be solved with high explosives, soldier! Now run those mags dry!"

Megatron sees more Enforcers and calls out, "Air support! Attack!"

Megatron and the Decepticon Dropships start firing on the multitudes of Autobots as one of them calls out over the commlink, "Forward base, is the threat contained?"

Another Autobot Scout replies quickly and fearfully, "Negative, negative!"

An Autobot Soldier asks over the commlink, "Forward scouts, report! What do you see?"

A Scout replies, "I have no idea."

The same Soldier asks again, "What does it look like?"

The same Scout replies again, "Pain, sorrow and eternal stasis. Not necessarily in that order."

With the help of the Decepticon Dropships, Megatron manages to take out the Autobot troops as brutally and as quickly as they could muster.

Suddenly, another Decepticon Dropship arrives and deposits the Combaticons, and the Combaticons immediately combine into Bruticus once again.

Megatron approaches and calls out, "Bruticus! Clear a path through that gate!"

Bruticus rumbles in reply, "With pleasure."

Bruticus rips a crane arm off its post and swings it at another one, completely throwing it.

Megatron cackles maniacally at the sight.

Bruticus then does a shield bash at another crane arm, one armed with a rocket turret.

Bruticus opens the gate doors with all his might and says, "Megatron, your path is clear!"

Megatron enters the gate and calls out, "Onward! Decepticons, we have the Autobots on the run! Forward! Bruticus, stay behind and mop up the rest! No survivors!"

As Bruticus nods his head, he allows the doors to close, and Megatron continues walking and calls out, "Decepticons, attack!"

An Autobot Soldier calls out over the commlink, "Be advised! Megatron has breached the gate! Megatron has entered the facility!"

Another Autobot Soldier replies somewhat sarcastically, "Thanks for the update!"

Megatron spots a guard standing in front of a door leading further into the facility with explosive barrels.

Megatron fires a blast at the barrels, blowing up the door and incinerating the guard.

All the while, the alarm blares as Megatron progresses through the now destroyed security doors.

Megatron moves to the next area and two Autobot Soldiers are running to the outside as one of them calls out, "We can't stop them! Fall back!"

As multiple Autobot Soldiers, Rocket Troopers and Shotgunners start firing on Megatron, one of them calls out over the commlink, "Fire! Fire! Fire!"

Another Soldier replies, "We ARE firing!"

His comrade replies back, "Then try aiming!"

The Decepticon leader manages to kill all the Autobot troops posted in the area without taking heavy damage.

Megatron manages to hover-jump to a tall enough bridge and enters the building the Autobot troops were using as a command center.

Megatron reaches another part of the bridge and gets contacted by Soundwave.

The Decepticon communications specialist states, "Megatron, you are nearing Trypticon's location."

Megatron replies, "Wonderful."

Megatron hover-jumps to the top floor and sees Autobot Sharpshooters on the bridge.

Megatron shouts, "Snipers! On that bridge!"

Megatron successfully destroys the Sharpshooters and quietly enters the command center.

He sees and hears Autobot troops attempting to contact Optimus Prime and Corvowing Prime.

An Autobot Soldier calls out, "Come in, Autobot City! Optimus, Corvowing! There are reports on the battlefield that Megatron is alive!"

A hologram of Optimus asks, "Are the reports confirmed?"

Megatron replies, "Here's your confirmation!"

Megatron fires a Riot Cannon blast at the Autobot Soldiers, completely destroying them and forcing Optimus' hologram to see for himself Megatron was indeed alive.

Optimus remarks, "Megatron. You're functional."

Megatron replies again, "Never felt better, Prime."

Optimus' hologram states, "If you're here for Trypticon's power core, then your cause is as desperate as ours. End your aggression; we can work together."

Megatron retorts, "Your pathetic ideals have turned Cybertron into the barren wasteland it has become. You are the cause, I am the solution. You deserve no less than the oblivion I will bring to you and your Lieutenant Commander. Goodbye, Prime!"

Optimus starts to protest, "Megatron, wait!—"

But Optimus doesn't get to finish because Megatron fired a shot at the control panel for the communications computer.

Megatron immediately destroys five Shotgunners sent to intercept him.

Megatron heads outside and jumps down to ground level.

Soundwave advises over the commlink, "Megatron, the Autobots are doubling their defenses."

Megatron replies, "They often expend great effort in vain. A futile gesture."

An Autobot Soldier calls out over the commlink, "Don't let him get Trypticon!"

Megatron immediately destroys the next batch of Autobots sent to stop him.

Megatron progresses through the next building door and comes across another Autobot post.

Megatron encounters a large batch of Autobot Soldiers, Rocket Troopers and Aerialbots.

Megatron manages to plow through them all, thankfully without getting his Hover-Slam and Energon Drain abilities jammed.

Megatron progresses to an extended bridge and picks up Trypticon's life signal, much to the Decepticon leader's surprise.

Megatron contacts Soundwave and advises, "Soundwave, are you reading this? The Autobots didn't remove the power core – Trypticon is still alive!"

There's silence on the other end as Soundwave checks the life signal before answering, "Then his body is still salvageable."

Megatron moves on to a large pipe and sees for himself an Autobot security outpost.

An Autobot Soldier calls out, "Fall back! Fall back!"

The security gates rise out of the ground and they are activated.

Megatron snipes the Autobots with his Riot Cannon and destroys the two particle combustion pulse turrets in the security outpost.

Megatron uses his Hover-Slam ability to get past the security gates.

Megatron hover-jumps to the top of a door where a lever to open the next door is.

Megatron flips the lever and enters the next room as the alarm blares.

The Decepticon overlord kills the Autobot troops in the room before he witnesses an Autobot Titan enter the room to lay a large heaping of minigun fire.

Megatron contacts Soundwave and asks, "What is THIS abomination?"

Soundwave explains, "Titan-class Autobot. Heavy weapons and heavy armor. Very formidable."

Megatron replies, "As am I."

Megatron manages to kill the Autobot Titan and enters the elevator to take him to the lower level where Trypticon's leg stabilizers are.

As Megatron exits the elevator, an Autobot Soldier calls out, "There he is! Stop him!"

Megatron kills the initial Autobot deployment before progressing into the room with Trypticon's leg stabilizers.

As Megatron deals with the Autobots in the room, he contacts Soundwave and says, "Soundwave, I have a visual on Trypticon's leg stabilizers. They've been sectioned off."

Soundwave replies, "Destroying the batteries should free them from their bonds."

Megatron destroys the Autobot troops and fires upon the six batteries, freeing Trypticon's massive leg stabilizers.

Trypticon's leg stabilizers are moved into the same position where they had been removed, and they are immediately clicked back into place, where they immediately heal the surgical removal done to them.

Soundwave states over the commlink, "Leg stabilizers are free."

Megatron hover-jumps to the exit and progresses to the next room.

As Megatron fires upon more Autobot troops, the Decepticon leader states, "There! I see Trypticon's torso unit!"

Megatron heads to the door of the control room, where he finds Laserbeak laser-cutting the door open.

After Laserbeak finishes, Megatron fires a shot to knock the door out of its laser-cut position.

Megatron flips the lever, and the barriers holding Trypticon's torso unit in place are removed, allowing a crane motor to move Trypticon's torso unit into position to be realigned with his leg stabilizers.

Soundwave states over the commlink, "Torso unit is now online. I am heading to your position to reactivate Trypticon."

Megatron heads to the next turn and as some Autobot Soldiers fire on the Decepticon leader, Trypticon's right fist punches through the wall, and the impact sends pieces of debris into the Autobot Soldiers, killing them on impact.

Megatron makes his way to the elevator door leading to an elevator to the surface level.

Megatron states, "At last! Open the door, Soundwave!"

Soundwave replies, "Yes, Megatron!"

The elevator door opens and Megatron steps into the elevator.

Megatron rides the elevator to the surface and takes out the Autobot Soldiers and Sharpshooters stationed where Trypticon's head is.

Megatron eventually shoots the batteries holding Trypticon's head in place and Trypticon's head reconnects to the neck socket of his torso unit.

Megatron heads to the computer terminal and Soundwave arrives in a dropship.

Soundwave jumps out and heads to the terminal as Megatron orders, "Hack it, Soundwave!"

Soundwave replies, "As you command, Lord Megatron."

For the next two to three cycles, Megatron and the reprogrammed turrets defend Soundwave from multiple Autobot Soldiers, Rocket Troopers and Shotgunners as he tries to restart Trypticon's Energon level.

After three cycles and the Autobot troops had been defeated, Megatron states, "Soundwave, report!"

Soundwave explains, "Trypticon remains in a deep stasis. Power core at 63% integrity. Catalytic overdrive generator is severely damaged. Estimating repair time—"

But Megatron interrupts, "No. There will be no repairs."

Megatron then says to the inert form of his only Decepticon Titan, "Trypticon, if you can hear me, understand this is not a rescue mission. Despite your great power, you failed to destroy the Autobots. You failed to destroy Optimus Prime. You failed me. Henceforth, your chassis will be altered and redesigned to MY specifications."

Soundwave advises, "Megatron, in his damaged state, Trypticon's alternate form will become permanent."

Megatron replies, "All the better. Soundwave, initiate the Nemesis Protocol."

Soundwave willfully initiates Trypticon's transformation into the trademark Decepticon spaceship known as the Nemesis.

As Trypticon's inert form begins to transform to its new vehicle mode, the only sound heard coming from Trypticon's inert form overall is a guttural growl as he unknowingly resigns himself to this new fate.

(Omake: Shockwave warns Optimus Prime and Corvowing Prime about Megatron's return, Roughstuff's betrayal and Trypticon's conversion into the Nemesis.)

Shockwave states into the computer terminal, "Shockwave to Autobot Ark. Optimus Prime and Corvowing Prime, can you read me?"

Optimus replies, "We read you, Shockwave."

Corvowing adds, "The secure commlinks are working perfectly. What's going on at your end?"

Shockwave replies emotionlessly, "Things are not looking good. Soundwave has resurrected Megatron, Roughstuff has gone rogue now that he is no longer the leader of the Decepticons, and Megatron has had Trypticon transformed into a Decepticon ship appropriately named the Nemesis."

Corvowing vented, "Hrrgh. Then we will proceed with Plan B."

Shockwave replies back, "As you wish, sir. Shockwave out."

Shockwave disconnects the commlink before switching frequencies to prevent Soundwave from finding out.

Then Shockwave continues working on the Dinobots.
