Growing up in Gotham was certainly never boring, and brought out some eccentric people. Selina Kyle was one the eccentrics that had grown up on the streets off and on. Meeting Bruce Wayne and somehow befriending him had saved the two of them. Neither of them had the best coping mechanisms, but they carried each other's burdens like they were their own. Alfred Pennyworth watched them both grow from children to adulthood ignoring their feelings for the other, until one drunken night that ended in an elopement in Vegas. The marriage lasted longer than the media thought possible for playboy billionaire and street urchin but all good things come to an end especially in Gotham. Selina earned herself a reputation on both sides of the law, while Bruce drowned himself in self destruction and dropped off the face of the earth.

Selina never thought she'd come back to Gotham after getting out with the help of long time friend, and secret husband Bruce Wayne (they never actually had an annulment) Paris had been good for her. She owned a very successful art gallery that Selina had spent years cultivating to show how art combined with design. She was doing so well that she was going to open a second gallery, why she chose Gotham she'll never know.

It seemed that there was a force calling her home, one she didn't understand but couldn't ignore. Selina swore it had nothing to do with a certain "bachelor" returning home. Though she was hoping to catch his attention at his welcome home gala he was throwing. She just needed a new accessory to complete her look. It's true she could have worn the pearl necklace along with a very expensive engagement ring, but that's not nearly as exciting. Also she hasn't been able to bring herself to wear either, not since she left Bruce. So with not much time to waste Selina opened her balcony doors stroking her cat Isis, before leaping off the ledge. Cracking her bullwhip at the last second and launched herself through the fog.

"The humidity in this city is not kind to kittens in leather" she says, as she leaps onto the roof of the Gotham Museum. People often question the sanity of Gothamites, and why they stay in the city with constant crime and at capacity prisons. Or why anyone would allow exhibits with irreplaceable items from ancient civilizations, the insurance alone would be astronomical. That is not Catwoman's problem, no her problem is the security guards who seem to actually care about their job protecting the emeralds from Ancient Egypt.

So begins the game of cat and mouse. As usual she lowers herself into the building, then drops quickly onto the unexpecting guard wrapping her legs around his neck putting him to sleep. A move she stole from her favorite Bond girl, then makes her way down the many cases picking her newest accessory. Clicking her diamond claws along the glass cases she finally finds the perfect addition. Slowly cutting out a perfect circle she reaches in and delicately pulls the emerald necklace, never noticing a certain masked man in the shadows.

Excited for the chance to surprise a brooding billionaire, Selina swings her bullwhip expertly home to her penthouse apartment. Changing into a deep green almost black evening gown, and smoothing out her curls she finally puts the necklace on. There's a slight buzz as she clasps it around her neck, and ringing in her ears. "I need to get a hold of myself, it's not like he'll take me back" Selina shakes her head enjoying the way the emerald catches in the light. "Well Isis, don't wait up, or do but don't tease me when I come home alone" her cat blinks and stretches up for a final pet goodbye.
