BEEP-BEEP! Angel Ortiz groaned as he opened up his eyes, wasting no time in dragging himself out of bed, despite his body screaming at him to go back to sleep immediately. Nearly slamming his hand down on his alarm, Angel shut off the beeping noise for good (at least until it reared its ugly head the next morning) and went about getting himself dressed.

He nearly tripped over his gaming console doing so, however, rubbing the last bit of sleepiness out of his eyes before slipping into some suitable clothes. Getting himself into a dark green tee-shirt, along with some black jeans, the teenage boy made his way out of his bedroom.

It hadn't been more than a couple of weeks since Angel had made the move to Paris, at the urge of his more immediate family (no doubt for reasons that they were unwilling to disclose to him), so his cousin's apartment was still unfamiliar to him for the most part. He had taken a while to adjust to the smaller living space, but thankfully, it had just been him and his cousin. It wasn't too hard for him to find his way into the kitchen, however, quickly looking at the breakfast that his cousin had left out for him.

Speaking of whom, Angel's emerald green eyes couldn't help but notice his cousin, Thea, lounging about in the living room the apartment sported. She had probably been out late again, he figured, judging by the smell of alcohol wafting through the air. Partying, it looked like, seeing she was dressed in nothing but a sleeveless crop top and her underwear.

It was a stark difference from the overbearing aunts and uncles he'd had living back in the States, and sometimes Angel couldn't help but wonder if he was really better off here. Still in the kitchen, though, he noticed Thea had made him a nice spread of buttered toast and scrambled eggs.

Seeing the wisps of steam coming off of the breakfast, he reasoned it couldn't have been too long ago, a small smile spreading across his face as he went about eating. Maybe living in Paris with his cousin wouldn't be so bad... Walking through the living room, Angel placed a hand on his cousin's shoulder, stirring her awake. "Hey, Thea," He let out, his voice coming out soft. "I'm heading out to school now."

"H-Hm?" His cousin let out, the brunette stirring as she turned to smile up at Angel. "Oh right, it's your first day, isn't it...?"

"Yep," Angel let out, nodding as he finished his breakfast, making his way towards the door. "I'll be seeing you in the afternoon, alright? Don't burn down the house while I'm gone."

"No promises," Thea giggled, stretching her arms behind her back as she pulled herself off of the sofa. "Have a good first day, Angel!"

"Let's hope so," The dark-skinned boy answered back, slipping into a pair of gold and black sneakers, slinging a black backpack along his shoulders. Taking a step out of the house, Angel narrowed his eyes slightly; it was a bright sunny day in the city of Paris, almost mockingly perfect for a first day of school.

Bringing a hand to his chest, he fingered the golden pendant currently wrapped his neck; a golden fang that had been left to him long ago. Touching it was always something he did to reassure himself, and although Angel didn't expect too much to happen on just his first day of school, something was telling him that his life in Paris would be a bit more eventful than what he might've thought.
