Battle of Two Captains! Buggy the Clown vs Monkey D. Luffy

Orange Town

Buggy's crew, Mohji, and Cabaji were easily defeated by Luffy, Zoro, and Ventus which all of it's left was between two captain. Buggy glares at Luffy which anger and hatred which he had a bad history with Shanks during his time as pirates in training as he spoke.

"In all of my life, I've never been as mad at someone as him." Buggy said with anger. "That bastard Shanks stole countless riches from me. I don't know how you two are connected, but I can say whatever I want about him. I've earned that!"

Luffy just stood silent, glaring at Buggy while he growled at the rubber captain which he remembered the time when he and Shanks were pirates in training since long ago as he then talk about his past to Luffy.

Somewhere in a sea, 27 years ago

30 years at the sea, both Shanks and Buggy were arguing about which side is colder, but it got those pirates attention when they crowded and waiting for them to fight. Buggy still has the red nose, but his hair was short and his stature was small. He was wearing a striped T-shirt, brown baggy pants, brown shoes, and a beanie hat. Shanks was wearing a straw hat, pinstriped shirt, blue pants, and sandals. They grabbed each other of their collars, glaring each other.

"North Pole!"

"South Pole!"

"That's what you say!?" Buggy argued with a tick mark on his head.

"Right and I'm gonna keep on saying it because I'm right clown!" Shanks retorts.

"Oh, you got guts! I'm gonna settle this once and for all!" Buggy exclaimed.

"Go ahead and try!" Shanks dared him.

"Alright you bastard, I'm gonna bust you up flashily!" Buggy said.

"Counterattack!?" Shanks shouts.

"Knock it off!?" The pirates breaks them up by bonking their heads. His appearance was a man with a stubble beard, black hair, and he wore a sunglasses. He wore a dark purple shirt with yellow accents on a neck collar, purple sash around his waist, black pants, and shoes.

"Nobody but you two cares which is colder, the North Pole or the South Pole." He told them, causing the crew burst with laughter. "If you want to know so badly, then why don't you go to both and find out? Now cool it!"

With that, the entire crew continues to laugh until one of the pirate called them.

"A SHIP!" He yelled, earned their attention. "ENEMY SHIP TO THE NORTH-NORTHEAST!?"

"Right, get ready! Time to fight!" He ordered the crew.

With that, the pirates are getting ready to fight against the enemy ship which they're getting their weapons while some of them readied the cannons.

"Yes, I can't wait to plunder." Buggy said with excitement.

"You seem happy, Buggy." Shanks said with a smile.

"Obviously." Buggy answered with a smirk. "Enemy ships are just like big floating treasure chests, it's only natural for pirates to raid them. Am I wrong?"

"Well, there some truth to that." Shanks answered.

"You're too weak." Buggy mocks, drew his knives. "You and everyone else here just don't have the pirates natural hunger and desire for plundering treasure. You don't know what it means to be a pirate."

Shanks just didn't care what Buggy have told him about being a pirate which every pirate has different opinion about becoming a pirate. With that, the pirates have fired the cannons at the enemy ship and began to fight against the enemy pirates. Buggy have killed the enemy pirate with his knife, but noticed a chart as he grab hold it while looking at it which happens to be a map.

"It's a treasure map." Buggy said with shock. "I've never seen one before. It's incredible! Was the treasure at the bottom of the ocean?"

'Yes, now my life's pack is flashily decided.' Buggy thought with a smirk which he has decided to keep the map and get the treasure for himself.

Later that night, the pirates were celebrating for their victory while Buggy was looking over the map with his big grin on his face.

"Hey, Buggy." Shanks called him with a smile which he's drunk, causing Buggy to startle. "Aren't you gonna come celebrate with us? We found a whole lot of really neat stuff."

"It's no map...I don't have anything hidden. Go away." Buggy said, hiding the chart inside of his shirt.

"What are you talking about, Buggy?" Shanks asks with confusion.

"Oh, uh, nothing. Buggy answered.

Shanks then joins Buggy, looking at the night sky.

"You said you were going to leave this ship sometime, right?" Buggy questions. "What are you planned to do?"

"I'm gonna get my own ship, then gather a reliable crew and see the world." Shanks answered. "I'm gonna take my time. All as a pirate of course."

"What a bunch of sentimental nonsense." Buggy chuckles with a grin.

"Say what?" Shanks asks, raised his eyebrow.

"I do admire your fighting skill though." Buggy compliments. "If you're weren't such a softie, I'd make you one of my henchmen."

"Your henchmen?" Shanks questions with a chuckle. "I don't think so. We have completely different outlooks on life, so I think we should just follow our own paths. That's what pirates do."

"You think you're such an expert on pirates." Buggy shrugs. "But if we ever meet on the ocean, then we have to fight to the death."

"Yeah, pirates do that too." Shanks agreed.

"You never make sense." Buggy stated as he turned to him. "Anyways, so you said something about finding some interesting loot, right?"

"Huh? Oh yeah, we found a Devil Fruit." Shanks told him.

"A Devil Fruit?" Buggy asks.

"I heard that the different fruits are incarnation of the Sea Devil." Shank explains. "Supposedly, if you eat one, you gain Devil powers, but the sea will hate you and take your ability to swim."

"You'd have to be stupid to eat that thing." Buggy said with shock, but smirked when he thought about taking the Devil Fruit with him. 'I'd never get that treasure on the ocean floor if I couldn't swim.'

"But still, I bet you can sell that fruit for at least 100 million berries." Shanks guessed.

"What!?" Buggy exclaimed with shock.

The next day, Buggy have snuck into the kitchen to find a fruit and manage to steal a Devil Fruit from the chest which he was planning to sell a Devil Fruit for the money, but he would also get his own ship to read the chart and get into the bottom of the ocean while finding a treasure so he'll be rich. So he form a plan as he began to call out the entire crew, earned their attention.

"I the pirate apprentice Buggy. I'm about to devour this Devil Fruit." Buggy announced, causing one of the pirate laugh.

"You gotta love the kid. Never thinking of consequences."

Buggy then eat the fruit which it was a fake Devil Fruit as the pirate crew looked him.

"Well Buggy, you feel any differently yet?"

"No, not really." Buggy answered, leaving the entire pirate crew disappointed.

"Was it a fake?!"

With that, the entire crew then began to get at their station since Buggy did waste their time about eating a Devil Fruit.

"I'm not surprised."

"I've never seen a real Devil Fruit before."

Buggy then smirked which his plan worked since he got the real Devil Fruit and the chart to find a treasure.

Later that night, Buggy then head towards the dingy with the Devil Fruit and the chart since he's planning to leave.

"Yes, that worked flashily well." Buggy said with a chuckle. "These guys are so gullible, I can't believe I was able to trick them so easily. Now to jump before they find out the truth. With the money I get for selling this Devil Fruit ad finding this sunken treasure, I'll easily be able to form my own crew."

"Hey there, Buggy." Shanks greets him with a smile when he snuck behind him, causing Buggy to put the Devil Fruit on his mouth. "Were you just saying something?"

"Oh it's you, don't scare me like that." Buggy said with his mouth full.

"Don't be so jumpy." Shanks retorts, stands up and leaves. "And don't steal too much food from the kitchen, you don't wanna make the cook mad."

"That was close." Buggy said with relief.

"Oh yeah. The Captain told me to tell you-"

With that, Buggy then accidentally ate the Devil Fruit since he got startled from Shanks again which his plan has gone up in smoke. Buggy then starts to get angry as he then grabbed Shanks' neck collar.

"DAMN YOU! BASTARD! WHY!? WHY!? WHY!?" Buggy yelled at him with anger. However, Shanks then saw the chart that was heading towards the ocean.

"What's that piece of paper?" Shanks questions with confusion, leaving Buggy looked which he was shocked to see that the chart was about to head towards the ocean.

"Not My Map!" Buggy exclaimed as he began to jump off the ship to get the map as he splashed in the ocean. He was trying to swim, but failed realize that when he ate the Devil Fruit, not only that he gains power, but lose the ability to swim which he'll sink like a rock.

"Hey, hey what are you doing?" Shanks questioned with worry. "What's going on? Why aren't you swimming? Buggy!"

Buggy was still sinking into the depths of the ocean as Shanks then dives down into the ocean to save him.

Orange Island

When Buggy finished his story about him and Shanks, he then growled with anger which he's still holds the grudge on Shanks. Luffy was just staring at him which he doesn't think that it's a big deal for him since Shanks did manage to save him long ago, but Buggy didn't think that as the rubber captain spoke.

"So, are you telling me that Shanks saved your life?" Luffy questions.

"No, That's Not The Point I'm Trying to Get A Cross!" Buggy shouts with anger. "Because of what he did to me, I was unable to swim and therefore, unable to obtain my sunken treasure. So I had a revelation, if I couldn't go underwater, then I'd just obtained all the treasure on dry land, using my brand new Chop-Chop powers."

Buggy then separate his lower half as his upper half then floats up, drew his knives.

"And now I won't let anyone who touches my treasure lives." Buggy said with a smirk. "Death To Those Who Tried To Build My Heart On Treasure!?"

Both Zoro and Ventus were disappointed about Buggy's story which he's just doing this for his own greed.

"This is almost like a dragon hording treasures in a cave." Ventus said with a deadpan expression. "Buggy was worse than that."

"That's what pirates are, kid." Zoro told him. "But yeah, it's kind of similar to dragons."

However, Nami was trying to sneak away from the fight, but she got caught when Buggy found her stealing the treasure as he then fly towards her. Ventus knew that Nami was about to get killed.

"NAMI, RUN!" Ventus yelled, earned her attention.

"Get Back Here You Thief!" Buggy yelled as he fly passed Luffy.

Nami then looked at Buggy which she then screamed.

"Dammit! He spotted me!" Nami exclaimed with panic as she ran. Luffy then looked at the lower half that Buggy left behind.

"You Don't Stand A Chance Of Escaping From Me!" Buggy yelled with anger. "Now! I'm Going To Flashily Chop You Up!"

When Buggy was about to kill her, he felt that someone kicked him, causing him to stop with his eyes rolled back and a goofy expression on his face. Nami then looked at him which she noticed that he stopped, but what Luffy did was he kicked Buggy in a groin, causing Ventus and Zoro to wince when they saw him kicked the clown captain's groin. Buggy then falls down to the ground with his teary eyes.

"Ow!...My balls, my balls...that was a cheap shot." Buggy exclaimed with his groggy voice.

"Don't run off yet. We're not done." Luffy told him with a smirk when he turned to him.

Meanwhile, the townspeople were taking refuge at the camp since Buggy and his crew have invaded the island for quite recently. Every people have grown worried about Mayor Boodle since he's been gone for a while.

"What's wrong?" The man asked with worry, looking at the pocket-watch. "The Mayor has never been gone for this long before, I hope he's alright."

"It sounded like a battle was going on in town." The woman pointed out. "There's been a lot more cannon fire than usual today."

"I'll go to town and check it out." The middle-aged man said seriously as then was about to head out. "You all just stay here."

"I'm going with you."

"No way! There are still pirates in town. It's too dangerous of this situation."

"Yes exactly. That's why you need our help."

"What kind of citizens are we if we don't help? We have got to find out what's happening."

"You can't stop us from going. We want to do all we can to help out."

"Then it's settled."

"We all go together."

The entire townspeople then cheered with an agreement as they head over to town to find Mayor Boodle and fight against Buggy and his crew.

Meanwhile back in town, Buggy was still down since Luffy kicked him in the groin which it's one way to stop him.

"Hey." Luffy called her, earned her attention. "You better drop that treasure and get out of here, Nami. You don't want him coming after you again."

"No!" Nami retorts, refuse to drop the bag of treasure. "Drop the money and go? No way! Why should I leave my treasure behind?"

Until, they heard growl that was coming from Buggy as he spoke with his veins on his head.

"Did you just called it 'your treasure'?" Buggy questions with anger as he slowly floats.

"That's right, you heard me." Nami answered. "I'm a thief who steals from pirates and I just stole a lot of treasure from a really annoying one. So that makes this my treasure now, you understand?"

That got Zoro and Ventus sighed which they know now that Nami wasn't going to give up on the treasure she just stole.

"Oh, that make sense." Luffy said, placing his fist on his hand.

'No it doesn't.' Zoro and Ventus mentally thought with annoyance.

"That's Pure Nonsense! That's My Treasure And Just Because You Stole It From Me, Doesn't Make It Yours You Dirty Sneaky Thief!" Buggy yelled, revealed his shark-like teeth and white eyes. "Honestly, What Did Your Parents Teach You!?"

"A criminal trying to lecture another criminal? Ridiculous!" Nami said with a smirk.

"What's that?" Buggy asks, glaring at her.

"Whatever. The day I took a morality lesson from you is the day I stop being a thief." Nami told him, sticking her tongue out with a smile.

That got Buggy really mad, growling at Nami.

"I hope you're ready for the consequences." Buggy snarled. "Now, here comes Chop-Chop: Festival"

Luffy looked at Buggy's lower part stood back up as the clown pirate then separate them into tiny pieces, leaving Luffy shocked of his power while Zoro and Ventus were also shocked. The small pieces on the lower part rushed past the rubber captain while made it towards him.

"I like to see you try and save your friend from me now, Gum-Gum." Buggy taunts with a smirk.

"Dammit! He broke up into smaller pieces." Luffy cursed, but noticed that Buggy's feet was walking towards the clown captain as he then grabbed one of his foot.

"Nami." Buggy called her with a smirk, leaving her scared as she ran while he chased her. "Give Me Back My Treasure?!"

"No way!" Nami refused.

Luffy then pulls the foot off of the shoe. Buggy felt someone touched his foot, but Luffy actually tickled the foot which it caused Buggy to laugh since he felt ticklish. Luffy then pinched the foot, causing Buggy to cringed with pain. He then slams the foot down to the ground with the hard impact, causing Buggy to scream in agony.

"DAMMIT! KNOCK IT OFF!" Buggy yelled.

"No You Knock It Off!" Nami retorts as she then use the bag of treasure to hit Buggy, but he grabbed hold of the bag of treasure.

"Thanks for given me my treasure back, Nami." Buggy thanked her, but Nami refuse to let go as she shakes it off.

"Let go!"

"You let go!" Buggy retorts. "This is my treasure, so gets your grubby hands off of it! Just give me back my treasure!"

Luffy then rush towards Buggy which he was about to kill her with his knives, leaving her scream with fright.

"I already told you! You haven't finished dealing with me yet!" Luffy yelled as he then kicked Buggy's head, sent him landed on the bag of treasure which it cause the bag ripped and the treasure was fallen down to the ground while Buggy was landed on the ground and the tiny body pieces were down to the ground.

"Consider that finishing move a little gift from the old mayor guy." Luffy said with a huge smile.

"Thanks a lot. I owe you one." Nami thanked him with shock.

"Sure, no problem." Luffy said.

Nami chuckled with a smile, but realized that both the treasure and the chart were still with Buggy.

"Oh yeah, the map/the treasure." Luffy and Nami said in a unison, but she was shocked to see Buggy has regain his consciousness with a smirk since his head was floating.

"This isn't over yet, Gum-Gum!" Buggy said.

"He's still alive!?" Luffy exclaimed while Nami was taking a few steps back.

"SHUT UP!?" Buggy yelled with anger. "How Dare You Flashily Do This To Me!?"

Nami then had an idea as she then ran off.

"You'll Pay For This!?" Buggy snarled. "Assemble Chop-Chop: Parts"

Buggy's body parts have returned, but only his arms and legs which he was now shorter than Luffy. However, Nami have manage to tie up the rest of Buggy's body as she looked at him with a smirk.

"Looking for these, Buggy?" Nami questions, leaving Buggy shocked.

"My parts!?" Buggy exclaimed, leaving Luffy laugh.

"Alright, way to go thief!" Luffy praised her with a grin as he stretched his arms far way back.

"STOP IT NOW!"

"See ya, Buggy." Luffy said. "Gum-Gum: Bazooka"

Luffy then hurls his arms forward as he then strikes Buggy with both of his hands, sent the clown pirate flying far away from this island. Nami was shocked since saw Buggy was flying while Zoro and Ventus were surprised that Luffy have won this fight. Luffy cheered for his victory while the Buggy pirates were shocked to see that their captain was defeated by the rubber captain. Luffy then picked up his straw hat that was all messed up because of Buggy. Zoro and Ventus walk towards their captain.

"Sorry your hat is all torn up." Nami apologizes when she has two bags of treasure.

"Don't worry." Luffy shrugs with a smile, placing his straw hat on his head. "I can still put it on and I got Buggy outta here, so I'm satisfied for now."

Nami, Zoro, and Ventus knew that Luffy was still upset that his straw hat was torn up because of Buggy. To him, the straw hat is his treasure since Shanks haven giving it to him long ago.

"When I have time, I'll fix it for you if you like." Nami offered with her sad expression.

"What's that?" Luffy asks with his blank expression.

"Oh forget it." Nami answered with annoyance, raising her bag of treasure. "I split this into two bags, so give me a hand and carry half of it. It's too heavy for me."

"That sure is a lot." Luffy said.

"If anything, that clown Buggy knew quality treasure when he saw it and now it's all mine." Nami said with a smile, nuzzling her cheek on the bag of treasure. "I bet I sell this for at least 10 million berries."

Zoro and Ventus looked at her with a deadpan expression since she's getting greedy while Luffy looked at her with a smile. Nami realized why they're here for as she then extends the chart to them.

"Here you go." Nami offered. "It's the chart to the Grand Line. You do want it, don't you?"

"You're giving it to me?" Luffy questions.

"Because you save my life." Nami told him.

"Thanks, Nami." Luffy thanked her as he then take the chart with excitement. "Now I finally have it, a map of the Grand Line. Oh, does this also mean you'll be joining me and my pirate crew?"

"I told you no matter what, I'll never join a pirate crew." Nami told him with a frown, but smirked. "But okay, hanging around with you seems profitable enough. Just remember this, I'm only joining you because it's my interest."

Before Luffy could say anything, Ventus then sniff the air which he's getting a scent which it got Zoro's attention.

"Hey kid, you smelling something?" Zoro questions.

"We're not alone. The people are coming this way." Ventus answered.

"How many?" Zoro asks.

"Many." Ventus answered simply.

"You there."

The three then look at the townspeople with various arsenals since they've got their attention as one of them spoke.

"You're not residence of this village."

"Nope." Luffy answered simply. "And who are you?"

"What was all that cannon fire we heard? It sounded like there may have been a battle here earlier. If you know anything, please tell us."

"Oh good, they're just citizens." Nami said with relief. "I thought maybe they were more pirates."

When they heard a footstep, they turned to their left and saw Mayor Boodle came out of the building with his angry expression.

"Damn You Kids!" Mayor Boodle yelled. "Treat A Senior Citizen Like That, How Rude!"

The townspeople were angry at the three pirates which they're not gonna listen to their story.

"I was ready to die filled with despair." Mayor Boodle said.

"And leave them devastated to your death?" Ventus retorts with a question. "Listen, if you die here then they'll be devastated and left with despair because of Buggy. Also, many people will die as well and all of their sacrifice will be for nothing."

That got Mayor Boodle shocked which the young Dragoon was right about it.

"I only did this because you'll be out of our harm and safe." Ventus continues. "All of the townspeople needed you as mayor of this town. You and your people have worked your hardest for building this town for only 4 decades and you're needed here instead of dying from the hands of Buggy and his crew."

They were shocked of Ventus' words which he's right since they've been hiding from the pirates for recently and they didn't fight back. Mayor Boodle then shed in tears as he spoke.

"You're right, they do need me." Mayor Boodle said. "They need me because I'm the mayor of this town, but this town is our treasure and we worked hard for only 40 years. Thank you."

With that, Ventus gave him a nod since the entire townspeople were happy that the town was finally at peace, but some of those buildings were destroyed and the Buggy pirates are still around. Luffy, Zoro, Nami, an Ventus then left the town to get to the port so they can leave the island. When they made their way towards the port, Luffy, Zoro, and Ventus noticed a boat that belongs to the Buggy pirates as Nami spoke.

"At least we made it since we don't have to run." Nami said with relief. "Otherwise, we'd be in trouble only because we're pirates.

"Yep, and we're done here anyway." Luffy added with a grin.

"The rest is up to them at this time." Ventus stated. "Those Buggy pirates are still around which they're gonna have to get of them and rebuild this town."

"That's true." Nami agreed. "But still-"

"Hey, is this your boat?" Luffy questions, interrupts. "It's great."

"It's nothing special, but I guess it'll do." Nami shrugs. "I stole away from those dumb pirates a few days back."

"That's a big mouth you got."

Nami gasped when they saw the same three pirates that were overboard a few hours ago.

"We've been waiting for ya, you little thief."

"Never thought you'd run into us here, did ya girly?"

Nami then chuckle with a nervous smile which she's in trouble from the three Buggy pirates. Zoro and Ventus then walk towards them with their scowl on their faces which they're not in a mood to fight which three of those Buggy pirates were scared of them since the two did beat them as they scream like little girls and ran away. Luffy then laugh at those three which he thought it's funny. It took a few minutes for him to calm down as they then began to set sail, leaving the island.

"Alright, let's get going." Luffy said with a grin.

"Can I ask you something?" Zoro asked curiously. "Isn't that Buggy's mark on your sail?"

"Well this did you to be Buggy's boat." Nami answered. "Think I should change it?"

"HEY WAIT! YOUNG ONES!" Mayor Boodle yelled, earned their attention. "THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK ON YOUR JOURNEY!"

"WE WILL, TAKE IT EASY!" Luffy yelled back with a smile.

Mayor Boodle then saw the three departed on this island with his head held high and a smile, but he noticed that there were two bags of treasure that was left behind which Nami wasn't too happy about it.

"What you do Luffy, huh!?" Nami yelled with anger. "Don't tell me you left that bag of treasure back there!?"

"Yeah." Luffy answered simply.

"That bag was worth around 5 million berries, you idiot!" Nami exclaimed.

"That's right, they're gonna need that money to repair their destroyed town." Luffy told her.

"But that was my treasure, jerk!" Nami yelled, leaving Luffy scared. "Do you know how hard I work to steal it!?"

Nami then grabbed Luffy's head, forcing him down to the ocean which it caused him to struggle.

"Why did you do that!?" Nami yelled with a question.

"Stop, I can't swim!" Luffy told her with panic.

"That's the whole idea!" Nami exclaimed.

Both Nami and Luffy continued to argue about the bag of treasure which she want him to get, but he refused because of his Devil Fruit powers. Zoro and Ventus laughs at this display which it was hilarious and entertaining.

"Well kid, for better for worse, looks like we finally have a navigator on our crew." Zoro said with a small smile.

"Yeah, it would seem like it." Ventus agrees.

With that, they began to head towards the next island to find a new crew and a bigger ship as their journey continues.

That's it for the 7th chapter. The Battle of Buggy the Clown was over and they'll be facing a new enemy. Plus, they'll be getting a new crew member which you guys knew.
