This is the 8th chapter. Okay, in this chapter is where they meet Usopp which you guys are well-aware of that lair with a scrawny built and his uncanny marksmanship. I don't own the series of One Piece.

The Liar, Usopp
Unknown Island
That morning when the sun was rising, everything was so peaceful on this island where the village is so quiet and the birds were chirping. All the people from the village were all up and ready for their day until...
"SOUND THE ALARM, THEY'RE HERE, THEY'RE HERE, AND TEHY'RE GOING TO KILL US ALL! OH NO! PIRATES! PIRATES! PIRATES ARE ATTACKING! RUN! EVERYBODY RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! PIRATES! PIRATES! EVERYBODY RUN! PIRATES ARE COMING!" The teen yelled, warned the villagers while running like he was running for his life.
His appearance is a slim teenager with medium-length black wooly hair, prominent lips, and a long nose. He wore an olive green plaid bandana, blue and white striped armband on his left arm, brown overalls with a white sash and no shirt underneath, and brown shoes. He carries a yellow satchel around him.
Somewhere at sea
While at sea, Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and Ventus were heading towards the next island since they've been sailing at sea for a few days since they left the Orange Town. They were able to stop the next island for some supplies since they need to leave in a hurry. Of course, Luffy was so eager to get to the Grand Line, but Nami didn't think it'sa good idea as she spoke.
"There's absolutely no way we'll make it to the Grand Line in this condition." Nami pointed out seriously, earned their attention.
"You're right, we're gonna need a whole lot more meat." Luffy said, eating what's left of the apple. "Eating fruit everyday is for the birds.'
"We'll also need some booze." Zoro added with a smirk, causing Nami throwing an apple at Zoro.
"Shut up you boneheads!" Nami shouts with annoyance. "Ugh, that's not what I mean. The Grand Line is a dangerous place, we'll need more than beer and meet to survive there. Not to mention the place is crawling with pirates who are also searching for One Piece and they all have ships that are way better than this."
"And we don't have a crew." Luffy added, leaving Ventus sighed.
"We don't have a crew, we don't have the equipment, or even a real ship for that matter." Nami told them. "There is no way we'll ever make it like this."
"Yep, we'll need a cook and maybe a musician to keep us entertained." Luffy suggests.
"A musician?" Zoro questions as he laughed, causing her hair sticking out of place.
"So...stupid." Nami said with annoyance as she then read the map. "A little to the south of here is an island with some settlements on it. And it looks like we might be able to get out ship and some of the supplies we needed here."
"She's right." Ventus agrees. "With any luck, we might find a ship that's big enough to get to the Grand Line and we need to find a new crew member that can cook."
Nami was surprised that Ventus agreed to her suggestion, she thought that the young Dragoon would be that those two acting like idiots, but he's not.
"Fresh Meat At Last!" Luffy shouts with a cheer.
"And lots of booze as well." Zoro added.
"Is That All You Think About!?" Nami yelled. "Ugh, What Am I Going To Do With You Two?"
Ventus then shook his head with annoyance which he knew that this was going to happen since both Luffy and Zoro were lacking common sense when it comes to sailing, supplies, and equipment. He asked himself like 'why did he join with Luffy in a first place?'. Of course, Luffy did see the young Dragoon fought against the Marines which it was an act of self-defense, but none of that matters anymore since he'll be fighting against the enemy pirates and the Marines wherever they go.
Unknown Area
The scrawny teen ran towards the village like his life depends on it, warned the villagers that the pirates are coming.
"THE PIRATES ARE COMING! THE PIRATES ARE COMING! RUN IF YOU WANT TO LIVE! THEY'LL BE HERE ANY MINUTE NOW! RUN! THE KILLERS ARE ON THE SHORE! THEIR BLOODLUST IS UNQUENCHABLE!" The teen yelled as he continues to run, but stopped while taking a breather, panting heavily. "We're doomed! The pirates... are...a...LIE!"
He then laughs since he's been lying the whole, but felt like someone hit him with a hard impact at the back of his head which one of them threw a cooking pot.
"That hurt!" He whined as one of the villagers then came out of their houses which they're angry.
"You Little Liar! You're Not Gonna Get Away This Time!"
"We've Had Enough!"
"This Little Game Is Over!"
One-by-one, the villagers came out of the houses with their angry expression as they began to charge after him. He was waiting for the right moment to run with excitement.
"Wait, wait, wait...Now Run!" He said to himself with his excited grin as he then ran away from them, laughing. "Just Try And Catch Me! Come On, Slowpokes!"
With that, he manage to get away from the villagers which he outrun them. They were trying to find the liar which they're having no luck when they looked everywhere from left and right while some of them were looking through the bushes. So far, no luck.
"Aw Man! Looks like he got away again!"
"That kid is a no good troublemaker."
"He better hope I never get a hold of him."
"Looks like nobodies getting a hold of him today."
With that, the villagers then head back to their houses since they won't be able to catch him. Little did they know, the lying teen was hiding from the top of the tree, laughing at the villagers as he then relaxed with his satisfied smile.
"Yet another job well done." He said with relaxed sigh. "It is my solemn duty to send the wind of excitement through this boring old village."
"There he is." One of the voice called him, earned his attention as he spoke.
"Hey you guys. What's going on?" He asked with a smile.
"I bid you good morning, Captain Usopp." The kid greets with a smile.
His appearance is a dark green hair shaped like a pepper. He wore a lightly green short sleeves shirt with Jolly Roger on front, light blue sash, dark blue pants, and black shoes with grey laces and grey on the bottom and very top.
"Fear not, your loyal crew, the Usopp pirates have arrived." The other kid stated.
His appearance is a freckled boy with short spiky purple hair that covers his eyes, red hat with a frill at the top and the Jolly Roger on the front, and a face that ends in a pointed chin; these three features make his head resemble a carrot. He wore a black sweater, reddish-brown sash, light orange pants, and dark brown shoes with light brown on the bottom.
Usopp then quickly jumps down to the ground as he spoke.
"Pepper, Carrot. It's just you two, where's Onion? Have you seen him around today?" Usopp asked.
Then they heard a scream that was coming this way as they turned to them, wondering what was wrong with Onion.
"SOUND THE ALARM! THEY'RE HERE, THEY'RE HERE, THEY'RE GONNA KILL US ALL!" Onion screamed as he ran towards them.
"Hey, it's Onion." Carrot said.
"I wonder what he's freaking out about?" Pepper asked with confusion.
Onion is a boy with a straight brown hair with a tuft sticking up at the top, making his head reminiscent of an onion in appearance, and tiny eyes. He wore square glasses, yellow shirt with blue vest jacket over it, dark yellow sash, dark brown pants, black shoes with grey on the very top and bottom with tan buckles.
"PIRATES! PIRATES ARE HERE, RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! PIRATES! WE DON'T STAND A CHANCE! BLOODTHIRSTY MURDERERS HAVE LANDED, RUN EVERYBODY RUN!" Onion yelled, ran towards them which Usopp, Carrot, and Pepper were confused.
"Stop playing." Usopp told him, raised his eyebrow as Onion stopped while catching his breath.
"I'm not playing." Onion denies, leaving Usopp sweat.
"It's for real?" Usopp asked, scared of Onion about to answer.
"Yes, it's for real!" Onion answered seriously. "Pirates are here!"
That got Usopp scream as he ran off.
"Gotta go! Um, time for me to have my snack!" Usopp lied.
"You chicken!" Carrot, Pepper, and Onion told him in unison with serious expression, causing Usopp to stop.
"Actually, I'm sick...yeah, I have 'I'll-die-if-I-don't-eat-my snackiosis'." Usopp lied again nervously.
"You liar!" Onion and Pepper yelled with annoyance, knows him too well.
"You always told us you want to become a real pirate someday, and now's our chance." Carrot added with a shout.
"Yeah, what's with you? What kind of a pirate is afraid of another pirate?" Pepper questions, leaving Usopp shocked.
"If I recall correctly, it was Buggy the Clown's mark." Onion told him, leaving Usopp scared.
"Buggy the Clown?" Usopp asked with frightened expression as he was about to run.
"But I only saw two tiny boats." Onion added which Usopp was still planning to run. "And there were just four people."
With that, Usopp was then excited so suddenly.
"It's Go Time, Brave Usopp Pirates!" Usopp shouts with his brave face, though it's a fake. "We Do Have A Village To Protect!"
That got Carrot, Pepper, and Onion sweat-drop which they didn't think that Usopp would be excited as he spoke.
"Let's Go Men, Move Out!" Usopp yelled as he then ran off towards the shore, leaving three kids smile with agreement as they then followed him.
Meanwhile, Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and Ventus finally made it at island as they land their two dingy's at the shore which there's no dock. They got off they're dingy's as they look around while Zoro stretches.
"Feels good to be on dry land again." Zoro said, yawning while stretches.
"There's a village around here somewhere, right?" Luffy asks with a huge smile.
"Yeah, it looks like a small one though." Nami answered, reading the map.
"What's this island called?" Ventus asked curiously.
"Hmm...This island is called Gecko Island." Nami answered. "Like I said, the village is small."
"Ooh, ooh, then there's meat." Luffy said, getting close to Nami, much to her annoyance. "There's meat, there has to eat meat in this village."
"Just forget about for a minute, would ya?" Nami told him.
Until, they heard a rustling sound that was coming from the bushes at the cliff. Zoro stretches when he heard the sound as he placed his hand on his katana.
"Careful, we're being watched." Zoro told them seriously, readied his katana.
Ventus then sniff the air to find the scent, earned Zoro's attention.
"Kid?"
"I know, they're here." Ventus answered, readied his lance.
"By who? Where are they? They got meat?" Luffy asked, looking around left and right.
"Look out!" Zoro warned them, but too late.
Someone fires those small iron pellets at them, causing Luffy to avoid them getting hit while Nami ran towards the dingy. Until, the Jolly Roger flags were raised up at the bushes which they're were all over the place at the cliff.
"That's so cool!" Luffy shouts with amazement.
"Is this was suppose to be when we're impressed?" Nami asked with annoyance.
"Mwhahahahahahaha, I am Usopp, leader of the invincible nation of pirates who reign over this island." Usopp lied with a smirk. "You stand before a living legend, the most revered pirate who ever lived. I am the great Captain Usopp."
They turned around to see Usopp standing above them on a rock as he spoke.
"Surely, you know that plotting an attack on this island would mean certain death?" Usopp asks confidentially. "My army of 80 million super mean pirate soldiers would squash you like bugs!"
"AWESOME!" Luffy yelled, leaving Zoro, Ventus, and Nami annoyed of his childish antics which they knew that Usopp is lying through his teeth.
"You expect us to believe that?" Nami questions, leaving Usopp shocked.
"She knows!" Usopp exclaimed which his confidence fallen quickly.
"Yep, well now I know." Nami said with a smirk.
"How could I've been so dumb? I practically told her I was lying, I'm such an idiot, so stupid!" Usopp exclaimed with panic, leaving Nami confused.
"What!? He was lying!?" Luffy exclaimed with a shout.
"Curse you, you crafty tactician!" Usopp cursed her, regain his confidence. "80 million may have been an exaggeration, but I have many men under my control."
With that, Carrot, Pepper, and Onion began to wave their Jolly Roger flags up and down which the three were sweating bullets with the nervous expression on their face, thinking that their plan isn't working. Ventus then sniff the air when he got their scent as he spoke.
"I'm smelling three." Ventus said.
Suddenly, three boys jumped out of their hiding spots with panic.
"HE DOES KNOW!" Carrot, Pepper, and Onion yelled when they dropped their flags and ran away.
Zoro noticed that Ventus smelled them at the cliff, wondered often the young Dragoon relied on his nose and how much he really need it. Even though, Ventus have put those dogs to shame due to his dragon traits.
"Hey, Where You Guys Going? Come Back!" Usopp yelled when he watch them ran, looking at them with his frightened expression.
"A pirate using a slingshot, huh? Well now I've scene it all." Nami said with a smile when she picked up a small lead pellet, blowing the sand.
"That's pretty cool!" Luffy told him with a laughter.
"Shut your mouth! Or I'll shut it for you!" Usopp growled as he got his slingshot out of his satchel, aiming at Luffy. "I'm a proud man and I won't stand for it! This is your last warning or you get to see why they called me 'Proud Usopp' and not 'Pushover Usopp', is that clear?"
That got Luffy's attention as he tilted his straw hat with his serious expression.
"You've already for yourself just how good I am with this thing. So, you know I can rival anyone carrying a pistol." Usopp stated seriously.
'Doesn't matter how strong a human being is, no way a slingshot could ever outmatch a pistol.' Ventus mentally thought with a sigh when he noticed Luffy covered his eyes when his straw hat was tilted.
"Now that you've drawn your pistol, are you willing to use it?" Luffy stated with serious gaze, leaving Usopp nervous. "Guns aren't for threats, they're for actions. Are you willing to risk your life?"
Zoro and Ventus looked at Luffy; Ventus was catching on of his action which he decides to go along with it. Zoro smirked, caught on to what Luffy was doing while placing his hand on his katana, ready to draw if necessary.
"I can assure you, we're real pirates. Consider your next move very carefully." Zoro told him.
Usopp wasn't sure what to do, these three were ready to fight him and they're waiting for him to make the first move. He knew he couldn't win if the fight have broke out, but he couldn't let them attack the village. He didn't want to die as he drop his lead pellet while lowered his slingshot, dropped down to his knees.
"Pirates definitely have s lot more punch by their words, cuz they can actually back them up. That's so cool." Usopp said with teary eyes.
Luffy then smiled as he and Zoro then burst with laughter, leaving Usopp confused while Ventus then shook his head with a chuckle. He knew that those two wouldn't kill him since Usopp's heart is at the right place to protect the village, but at the wrong time to try to fool those pirates that have battle experience.
"I stole that." Luffy told him, leaving Usopp confused. "I stole those words from Red-Haired Shanks, a pirate I know."
"What!? You know Red-Haired Shanks!? You really are a real pirate! Wait, you gotta be lying, do you really know him?" Usopp said with shock.
"Yep." Luffy answered. "And I know your dad too. His name's Yasopp, right?"
Usopp then cheered, but he slipped down towards the ground, landed face first with the hard impact as he then looked at him with shock.
"You're right. My old man's name is Yasopp." Usopp admits as he questions. "But how...How do you know him?"
With that, they headed towards the village together so that Luffy can explain how he met Usopp's father.
On their way to the village, Luffy and the others introduced themselves, leaving Usopp ecstatic to meet a non-threatening pirates; he told them about his village and how pirates never came here because it was quiet and peaceful. He also told them that he formed his own pirate crew which of course, Ventus already knew that his crew were only three children just to liven things up a bit.
When they arrived at the restaurant, they sat down in a booth to have lunch and Usopp was looking through his favorite things on a menu. Luffy wanted to eat everything, but Nami scolded the rubber captain for that comment in the end they ordered a big meal to share.
"This is good, huh?" Usopp questions with his mouthful, getting a nod from Nami.
"So I met your dad when I was just a little kid." Luffy explains with his mouthful.
"Hold on, is my old man really know Shanks?" Usopp asks.
"Know him? When I met your dad, he was part of Shanks' crew. So they were probably good friends." Luffy answered.
"I can't believe it." Usopp exclaimed. "My old man sailing out on a high seas with famous pirates."
"I haven't heard from him in a while, but I bet he's still with him." Luffy told him as he then picked up an apple. "He was a heck of a sharpshooter, I'd keep him on my crew."
Luffy then told Usopp about his father shooting an apple with his pistol which he was amazed of his marksmanship. He also told him that Yasopp then began to tell his story about leaving his son behind since he chose his life out in a sea which he pretty much told him a whole lot of times.
"He use to go on and on and on about his son, I think I heard enough about you to make my ears bleed." Luffy said. "And let me tell you, he's a great pirate."
"Yeah, really? I sure am proud of my old man, he left into a pirates life on the endless sea." Usopp said with a smile, proud of his father. "And chose a life of real adventure."
"Maybe you can help us." Nami said, earned his attention. "Do you know someone who could provide us with a decent ship or even anyone who knows how to sail for that matter?"
"Well, it's a pretty small village. Sorry, but I just don't think we'll be able to help you." Usopp admits.
"What about that huge mansion?" Zoro questions with his look while looking at the mansion, leaving Usopp gasped. "The one on top of that hill over there."
"Hey, do you know them Usopp?" Nami chides with a smile. "With all that money, surely they can help get our boat."
"You stay away from there!" Usopp warned them seriously, leaving them confused while he widens his mouth. "I just remembered something that I really gotta do. Everybody knows me at this place. So stay and eat as much as you want, well gotta go!"
With that, Usopp ran off outside of the restaurant, leaving Nami confused, wondering why did Usopp ran off in such a hurry.
At the largest mansion was a girl laying on the bed, holding her pillow. She is slim and pale-skinned girl with blonde hair and brown eyes. She wore a pale blue long dress. The other was a butler pouring a jug of water on an empty glass. He is a tall and slim man with glasses and slicked black hair. He wore a black suit with golden markings on it over a white shirt with a curious collar with spiral-like protrusions on the edges and a standard black tie, and a striped black shoes.
"You wish to see Usopp?" The butler asked, turned to her. "Don't start this again."
"May I see him?" She asked desperately. "I like talking to him."
"No ma'am." He refused with a sigh, adjusting his glasses. "That man is without a doubt a chronic liar. For someone in you weakened state, Usopp's outlandish stories might be too much to handle."
"But I-"
"Your late parents instructed me to protect you to the fullest of my abilities." He told her with interruption, adjusting his glasses. "It would be against their wishes for you to see him, Miss Kaya. Now then, I'll leave your medicine right here, please be sure to take it."
With that, the butler then began to leave her room as she spoke with her sad expression.
"Killjoy." Kaya said with the butler overheard.
"'Killjoy' will do, a name I'll bear if you're kept safe." He told her as he then left the room.
Of course, Kaya refuses to take her medicine since she really wanted to see Usopp. However, Usopp saw those two guards at the gates which he knows that there were only two as he then goes at the opposite direction, pulling the bush block out of the bushes and slid through there. He then threw the pebble at the window to get Kaya's attention as she then opens the window to see Usopp with a smile.
"Usopp, you came!" Kaya exclaimed with joy.
"Of course, how are you? You seem a little down." Usopp said with a smile.
"I guess I am, I'm tired of talking like this I like to invite you inside like a proper guest." Kaya told him, turned to sad. "But there's just no way Klahadore would ever allow that. He's not a bad person though."
"Don't sweat it. Remember, I'm a brave warrior of the sea who likes endless oceans in the open sky." Usopp stated which it's a lie. "Houses weren't made for rogues like me, I probably just fell cramped in there."
"So what adventure are you going to tell me about today?" Kaya asks.
"Hmm, well let's see." Usopp ponders as he then came up with a made-up story. "Oh I know, what about the story of me fighting a giant goldfish at the south pole when I was 5 years old."
"A goldfish?"
"A giant goldfish." Usopp corrects her as he then tell a made-up story. "What first astound me was the immense size of its poop. It was so big that I landed on it, I thought it was a solid ground it look like an island."
That got both Usopp and Kaya laugh about that story he told which it was pretty funny.
Meanwhile, Pepper, Onion, and Carrot then snuck into the restaurant to see if there captain was in there as those three boys then hides onto the barrels.
"Are you sure this is the place they took him?" Pepper questions.
"Yeah, those terrible pirates dragged him inside and now it's up to us to save our captain." Onion nods seriously.
"But guys, those are real pirates. What if they grilled him and eat him already?" Carrot questions with worry.
"You idiot! Grisly old witch hags who eat their victims not pirates." Pepper told him.
They then look at the window which they only saw Luffy drinking, but Usopp wasn't here at the restaurant which they don't know that as they then come up with a plan.
"Okay you guys, this time its for real." Pepper said as they swallowed their lumps on their throats, drew out the wooden short swords. "This is gonna be the most brutal and epic battle of our lives, we may show no mercy because they'll never show it to us."
They agreed with serious expression on their faces as they then barge inside of the restaurant.
"Usopp Pirates Have Arrived!" Carrot, Pepper, and Onion shouts in unison, earned their attention which Nami was confused of those kids. However, the three boys were also confused that their captain isn't here as they then charge after them.
"Fess up you filthy pirates! What have you done with our beloved Captain? Tell us now!?" Pepper demands.
"Yeah, Tell Us Now!"
"That meat sure was good." Luffy said with his satisfied smile, rubbing his big belly which those three boys were scared.
"What meat?" Carrot questions with fright.
"These pirates are cannibals!?" Onion exclaimed, leaving Nami giggled.
"What have you done? You savages!?" Pepper exclaimed.
"If you're looking for your captain, we ate him." Zoro said with a scary smile.
"And you three...are next." Ventus added with a scary smile, showing his dragon teeth.
"AAHHH, CANNIBALS!" Carrot, Pepper, and Onion screamed with panic, looking at Nami.
"What Are You Punks Looking At Me For!?" Nami yelled, showed her white eyes and shark-like teeth.
Luffy, Zoro, and Ventus then laughed at that prank they pulled which it was really funny.
"You have to say something stupid, didn't you?" Nami said with annoyance.
They then left at the restaurant and those three boys led the way to Kaya's mansion since they've cleared up the misunderstanding about Usopp being eaten which they thought it was pretty funny when they four saw three children got scared.
"You really had us going there." Pepper said with a chuckle.
They finally made towards outside of the mansion as Luffy spoke.
"Whoa, this place is huge!" Luffy exclaimed with awe.
"And if our Captain ran off at this hour, then this is the place is gonna be." Onion told them.
"Oh, what in a world is Usopp come here for?" Luffy asked curiously.
"He comes to lie." Carrot answers simply.
"To lie!? That's terrible!" Nami scolds.
"She's right, lying to someone won't do you any good. Until it is as plain as it goes to your face." Ventus agrees.
"He's not a bad guy he's great, isn't he?" Pepper asked his friends.
"Yeah, he's awesome." Onion answered.
"How's the liar awesome?" Zoro questions seriously.
"Well Kaya, the girl who lives there is been at a terrible depression that's kept her weak and in bed since her parents got sick and died a year ago." Pepper explains. "She's very rich, but all that money couldn't help her recover from her sadness."
"So our captain tells a special made-up stories to make her laugh and cheer her up." Onion added.
"Captain Usopp is the best to telling lies." Carrot said.
"Wow, that is pretty nice of him." Luffy said, earned a nod from the three boys.
"The best thing about him is his mischievous side, he's always to something." Carrot told him with a smile.
"I like him, cuz he's not afraid to be silly." Pepper added.
"And I like the captain's crazy lies." Onion added.
"So when he tells her those stories, he makes her feel better?" Nami asked.
"Yep, lots better." Carrot answered.
'Now I get it, he was only telling those stories just to get her to laugh.' Ventus thought, realized why would Usopp left the restaurant in the first place.
"Great! I think we should ask her for a ship after all." Luffy said with a huge smile.
"We're not the ones who make her feel better, Usopp is." Zoro pointed out, raised his eyebrow.
"Getting in is impossible." Pepper told them. "Those guards at the gate don't let anyone through."
Then they lost Luffy which he was at the gates as he then climb up.
"I'll go ask her!" Luffy exclaimed, leaving them panicked as he grabbed the gate.
"No, you're not gonna-"
"Gum-Gum:" Luffy said, leaving the three boys scared of his ability as they tried to stop him, but it is too late. "Rocket"
Luffy then launched himself and the others flying over the gate which it was too high for them to handle.
Usopp continues to tell some made-up stories to Kaya which she was cheering up.
"So after that terrifying and traumatic little incident, we escaped into the sky riding on a giant slingshot ball." Usopp said with a laugh, but what got Kaya's attention was that something is falling down and it's coming this way.
"What's that?" Kaya questions, leaving Usopp confused as he look up, noticed Luffy and the others were falling but Ventus wasn't when he used his wings to fly.
Luffy shouts with a big grin while Usopp screamed as they landed on the ground really hard. When the dust cleared, they saw Luffy, Zoro, and Nami on the ground while Ventus landed safely while putting three children down.
"That worked well." Luffy said groggily.
"Yeah, Real Well!" Nami yelled, revealed her shark-like teeth and white eyes.
"My goodness, are you okay?" Kaya asks with worry, leaving Ventus' wings disappeared.
"Ah, don't mind them Kaya, this happens to me all the time." Usopp lied nervously. "That's just surprise for being a famous adventurer, they're just new recruits you heard about me and came to join the Usopp Pirates."
"Nope, not me. I came here to see you." Lufft said, stood up. "I wanted to ask you a favor."
"A favor? From me?" Kaya asks.
"Uh-huh." Luffy nods. "I was wondering if there's anyway you can help us get a boat."
"You there!" Klahadore called them, earned their attention. "What do you think you're doing?"
