Bounty! Luffy Become Known To The World!
Somewhere at sea
Few days have past since Ventus defeated the Arlong pirates and destroyed the Arlong Park on his own, the Straw Hat pirates were sailing towards somewhere at sea. Apparently, Ventus was still thinking about his family ever since he told them about his dark past. He really missed his family, but he's not dwelling over the past when he kept his focus on getting stronger since they're about to head to the Grand Line. Every early mornings, he does his aerial combat while stretching his wings to get a good feel and do a morning and the afternoon spar with Zoro. He also does help out cleaning the ship and the dishes with Sanji while learning how to cook.
But now, Zoro was leaning against the wooden rail napping as usual. Usopp was making some ammo using his tabasco sauce which it's pretty spicy it'll burn in someone's mouth. Ventus was leaning against the wooden rail, thinking about his parents while thinking about the nuns, wondering how were they holding up after they helped him leave Ishgard eleven years ago. The postal bird have arrived at the pirate ship which Nami wasn't too happy about what she just heard.
"You raised your prices again? That's a little steep, don't you think?" Nami complains to the postal bird, placed a coin on the bag while getting the newspaper. "Raise your prices again and I'll stop paying!?"
The postal bird then left the Going Merry since the delivery avian is heading somewhere either the island or the ship to deliver a newspaper.
"What's the big deal?" Usopp asks. "It's just one paper."
"'Just one paper', I buy these every day." Nami told him.
"Yeah, but there's no need to save every last berry so you can buy back your village, you know?" Usopp protests while pouring the tabasco sauce on the ammo. "He and the entire are dead. You can finally stop obsessing about money."
"You're so stupid!? Now all that stuffs over, I'm saving money for me now." Nami said with annoyance, huffed. "I'm not gonna be one of those poor pirates who can't even afford to dress up."
"Whoa, calm down! I'm in a middle of developing my 'Special Tabasco Star'." Usopp warned her with caution.
While Luffy, he was inside of the Tangerine grove that Nami had brought them with her few days ago with a help of Sanji and Ventus. Luffy was about to take one of the tangerines, but Sanji kicked him out of the grove and Luffy hit Usopp, causing him to drop the tabasco ball while accidentally drop the sauce on his eyes. Usopp then screamed and ran in circles around the deck with fire spewing from his eyes.
"Aw come on! I just want one of them!" Luffy whines with a glare.
"No! This is Nami's Tangerine Orchard! I won't anyone lay a finger on it!" Sanji yelled with a scowl, but turned to goo-goo eyes when he turned to Nami. "Nami, did you see how well I'm protecting your trees~?"
"Yes, you're doing very well." Nami praise with a smile, reading the newspaper.
Zoro woke up from his nap earlier when he heard that scream coming from Usopp. He couldn't help but feel annoyed, notice that Sanji is protecting the Tangerine Grove while Ventus shook his head with a chuckle when he heard that noise.
"Well Sanji is getting used, that poor bastard." Zoro muttered, observing the scene.
After Usopp had stopped running, he was given a cool wet towel to cover his eyes. Nami was reading articles while sitting on a deck chair while Luffy was just sitting on a wooden rail with a pout.
"I only want one tangerine. Just give it here. You're so mean." Luffy complains, stick his tongue out.
"No!" Sanji shouts with annoyance.
"Oh well, I'm pretty happy anyway." Luffy shrugs with a big grin.
"Hey, has anyone seen Ventus?" Sanji asks, scan the area. "I haven't seen him all day."
"He's probably doing some early morning training just to stretch his wings while doing some aerial combat." Usopp stated with a pant.
"Usopp, he already finished his training hours ago." Nami points out while reading the newspaper. "If nothing else, he's probably reading some books in the cabin."
Sanji then nods as he decided to head inside of the cabin to check up on the young Dragoon, but notice that he's leaning against the wooden rail. He then head downstairs, approaches him as he spoke.
"Thinking about your parents?" Sanji asks, earned his attention.
"Close, but not quite." Ventus shook his head. "I was thinking about those nuns."
"You mean the nuns from Ishgard?" Sanji inquired, earned a nod from him. "Have you thought about writing a letter to them?"
"I did long ago. You see, I've been sending messages to let them know I'm still doing alright." Ventus explains. "They were very happy to hear that I'm still alive when I've arrived at Burmecia long ago. I always keep in touch with them whenever I told them. But..."
"But?" Sanji repeats.
"The dragons of Dravania knew where I was, so I sent them a last message before I left Burmecia." Ventus told him sadly. "We've been lost in touch ever since."
Sanji then understands why Ventus was thinking about the nuns from Ishgard because they're good friends with his mother and they always treated the young Dragoon with kindness and accepts him. Even though, Ventus would like see them again to see how were they holding up for the past year.
"I'm sure you'll get to see them again, Ventus." Sanji said with a smile. "Because I know they would love to hear about you and your adventures."
Ventus then smiled a little, hoping that the cook is right as he nods. He then turned his expression into neutral as he spoke.
"I've been meaning to ask you something." Ventus said. "I thought you're staying at the Baratie. Why the sudden change?"
"Oh." Sanji said seriously. "Well, these guys are trying to stomp my pride, telling me that my food is terrible while trying to get me to leave. Let me tell you, they're terrible at acting when I overheard everything, bunch of jerks. And that old geezer even tried to get rid of me."
Ventus couldn't help but chuckle a bit, seeing that Sanji didn't like anyone who insults his way of cooking.
"What got me convince is when Yosaku told me that Nami was going after Arlong's bounty and where she was heading while you were still on the ship." Sanji told him. "And as far as I know, he thought that she goes after his bounty while you were about to get killed. It's enough for me to go with our idiot Captain to become a pirate since his goal is foolish. Then again, so is mine."
"What was your goal?" Ventus asks curiously.
"Glad you ask, but let ask something. Have you heard of the 'All Blue'?" Sanji asks with a smile, leaving the young Dragoon surprised.
"Only once, the 'All Blue' is the name of the island where all the fish from the four different sea lives. The North, South, East, and West." Ventus told him.
"That's right. Let's not forget that the 'All Blue' is a paradise for the seafaring cooks." Sanji said. "That's my goal. My goal is to find the 'All Blue'."
Ventus can tell that Sanji had determination and passion in his eyes when he told him about his goal. However, the young Dragoons goal were different, his first goal is to find his uncles and bring justice for his parents, and his second goal is to end conflict between Ishgard and Dravania.
Until, they heard a scream coming above the deck which Luffy, Usopp, and Nami were screaming as the two then rush towards them. But what they saw is a bounty which happens to be Luffy and the bounty is 30 million berries. The only reaction they get from their Captain is that he's laughing and being happy as a clown.
"Alright guys, we're wanted criminals!" Luffy declared, showing his wanted poster.
"Wanted: Dead or Alive. 30 Million Berries!?" Usopp exclaims with shock.
"That's a whole lot of berries!" Luffy shouts with excitement, laughing.
"But how come they didn't put Ventus in the wanted poster, he's the one who kill the Arlong Pirates?" Usopp asks with confusion.
"Actually, I told the Marines to omit that." Nami told him. "True that Ventus have killed Arlong and destroyed the Arlong Park, but I believe he had enough hard time as it is right now."
"She's got a point." Sanji agrees. "True that Ventus have beaten Arlong and his entire crew on his own because he's grown enraged, but Luffy have already beaten Don Krieg."
"Actually, he also beats Morgan, Buggy, and Kuro." Ventus points out, leaving Sanji confused. "It's before we have you as part of our crew."
"Oh." Sanji said, understands.
"True, but Ventus don't forget, you've already beaten Mohji and Butchie." Nami told him, sighed. "Right now, all of our lives will be in constant danger and we won't be around in the East Blue for long."
Unknown to them, Zoro have overheard their conversation which he now realize that he needs to get stronger if the swordsman ever wanted to become the 'World's Greatest Swordsman'.
'30 Million Berries. With that amount, the headquarters will take action. Not mention it'll be bounty hunters to deal with. And with this kind of bounty, it'll be good.' Zoro mentally thought with his harden scowl in his eyes. He then stood up as he walk towards the deck.
"Hey kid, let's do some training." Zoro told him seriously.
Ventus then give him a nod as he get his lance while getting ready for spar.
Now with Luffy's new bounty and them heading to the Grand Line, both Ventus and Zoro needed to be stronger. With him only one sword, Zoro needs to get to more swords if he ever face a stronger enemies in the future. Ventus however has been practicing with his lance and his aerial combat constantly in order for him to get stronger. Sure they've been doing spars every day to get stronger, but with Luffy had a bounty, they won't be able to hold back which they're going to make it harder and longer.
Few hours later, the Marine ship is sailing somewhere at sea, but apparently, the Marine ship have seen better days and it can barely floats which it's basically nothing but a piece of junk. The Marines were mostly laying on the deck which they've got nothing else to do while inside of the cabin, Fullbody was drinking his wine which he's a drunken mess.
"Dammit! This cheap swill makes me feel terrible." Fullbody muttered, hiccupped. "Oh man, how I long for the old days when I was surrounded by beautiful women and fine wine. One chance encounter with that horrible waiter change the course of my entire life. Because of him, the Marines said I tarnish there good name and I lost my rank of Marine Headquarters Lieutenant. Now I in charge of this hunk of junk out in the middle of nowhere."
Fullbody then grunts, remembered that he use to have a good life a Marine Lieutenant while dating a woman at the sea restaurant. However, that changed when Sanji just give him a beatdown because Fullbody have insulted him which he pretty much brought it up to himself. Of course, the Marines already knew about his actions and his attitude since they demoted him.
"Former Marine Lieutenant Fullbody."
One of the Marines called him, but accidentally broke the wooden door while tripped over.
"What do you want, you twit?" Fullbody asks, not in a mood.
"I have a new wanted poster."
Of course, Fullbody grunts as he placed his foot down to the floor, pointing his finger at the table.
"Just put it over there. There's nothing we can do seen as how we're in a middle of the damn-"
Before he could finish his sentence, Fullbody then notice that Luffy is on a wanted poster along with the bounty.
"That face, I know I've seen it before." Fullbody muttered, remembered when he first met the Straw Hat pirates which it was before he fires the cannon at him. "Yeah that's him alright. Thank you God, for giving me a chance to climb out of this hellish pit of endless boredom. That brat, catching him will be easy. And when I do that, the Marines will certainly restore me to full-rank."
Fullbody then broke the wooden with force as he spoke.
"FALL IN!" Fullbody called his men, leaving them yelped as they quickly lined up single file which he wasn't expecting that they're disorganized and out of shape. He then regain his composure. "MEN! PREPARE FOR BATTLE!"
Of course, none of the Marines were convinced or motivated.
"Battle, huh? So where's it suppose to happen?"
"Well, let's see." Fullbody pondered. "I suppose we should start at the sea restaurant."
That got the Marines motivated and they're pretty hungry, cheering for Fullbody which they think he's buying.
"They'll be no feast!" Fullbody yelled, but the Going Merry is sailing pass through them and notice the Straw Hat pirates are in there. "That was him!? On deport! Our target is right in front of us!"
The Marines were able to change course as they sail towards the Going Merry.
"It looks like it just came out of battle." Luffy said, notice the ship is nothing but scrap. "That thing barely floats."
"That's a real shame." Usopp agrees, raise his eyebrow. "Putting scrap ships in the sea."
"This is not a scrap ship!" Fullbody yelled, placing his foot on the wooden rail which he'll admit it's a hunk of junk, but not to say out loud. "Are you guys blind?! Have you forgotten the face of 'Iron Fist' Fullbody?!"
"Oh yeah, you're that Marine guy I saw one time." Luffy said, realize who he is. "Are you stranded? Need some help?"
"Quit fooling around!? Our meeting here spells 'The End' for you!" Fullbody growled, showing the wanted poster. "Monkey D. Luffy, you're under arrest!"
"Yep, that's me alright." Luffy said with a big smile which it got Fullbody annoyed.
"It says 'Dead or Alive', a key extinction." Fullbody snarled as he turned to his men. "Now Take Aim Men!"
The Marines then begin aiming at the Straw Hat pirates which it cause Zoro to wake up from his nap and Nami stop reading the newspaper.
"What's all that noise, huh?" Nami questions with annoyance.
Ventus is learning how to cook from Sanji which he was able to figure it out when he's using the pepper grinder to place peppers on the food, but what cause him to stop is when he sniff the air.
"Hey, I know you're hungry, but-"
"No that's not it." Ventus interrupts, sniffing the air which it left him annoyed. "Oh great, just a bunch of small fries."
"What do you mean?" Sanji asks with confusion.
"I mean, the Marines are here." Ventus told him. "But, I'm sure you're familiar with the name of Fullbody."
"Damn it! What does he want now!?" Sanji growled with annoyance. "Keep working on that lunch, I'll check it out."
Meanwhile, Usopp was now scared when his face paled as a sheet of paper and Luffy was just standing there on the wooden rail, watching.
"I guess they're gonna shoot." Luffy said with a blank expression.
"Their aiming right at us!?" Usopp yelled with fright. "This is bad."
Zoro then decided to stood up while grab hold of his katana.
"I got this, just leave it to me." Luffy said, raise his arm.
"Why don't you let me handle this, Luffy?" Zoro suggests in a stoic fashion.
"Yeah, relax. You just stay back here." Usopp agrees, placing his hand on his shoulder as he pulled him. "Trust us, all you do is mess this up, so come on over here."
When Usopp shoved Luffy out of the way, Zoro then readied his stance.
"Your story ends here." Fullbody declared, putting his thumb down at the Marines then fire the cannonball, heading straight towards Zoro as he unsheathe his katana, slicing the cannonball in half.
Usopp was scared while Luffy was amazed of Zoro's swordsmanship. The Marines were completely shocked in disbelief.
"That's impossible!?" Fullbody exclaims with shock.
Sanji then went outside of the cabin, trying to find out of that noise which Ventus is right about the Marines were here along with Fullbody. Zoro then sheathed his katana as he spoke.
"I was trying to take a nap." Zoro comment.
"There's lots more where that came from!?" Fullbody yelled. "Fire!"
When the Marines were about to fire around cannon, it had cracks around as it then explodes, causing the Marines and Fullbody covered in soot and their hairs were a complete mess.
"Too bad, their cannon had cracks in it." Luffy said.
"You're right, that is bad." Usopp agrees.
The ship then landed next on the Going Merry as Fullbody then grew furious as he spoke.
"You wretched little brats! Never mock a Former Marine HQ Lieutenant! We'll just have to go hand-to-hand!" Fullbody yelled as he leap in mid-air. "Men! Follow Me!"
With that, the Marines then charge after the Straw Hat pirates when Fullbody then punches Luffy, but failed to realize that his head was stretching as the rubber Captain then retaliates by using his 'Gum-Gum: Bell' to headbutt Fullbody, knocking him out as Sanji then use his flurry of kicks to send the Marines flying towards the scrap ship. Fullbody then look at Sanji as he scream like a little girl, remembered the same chef back at the sea restaurant.
"You got a lot of balls tough guy, picking a fight during lunch. I should kill you." Sanji growled with anger, looking at Fullbody with killing intent. "Unless you made a reservation, I'll have to ask you to leave."
Fullbody then begin to scream fearfully when he saw his men were retreating while abandon the ship. He then retreats while abandoning the ship.
"Well, I guess he's doing." Luffy said, placing his hat on his head.
"Heh, he was all talk." Usopp shrugs.
"That guy is still nothing but a wimp." Sanji added with annoyance.
"Come on you guys, could you keep it down? Honestly, I can't even sit and read a paper." Nami shouts with annoyance.
"Ah crap, I forgot Ventus." Sanji said panickily as he rush towards the cabin. He then notice that lunch were prepared and the food weren't burned as he sighed with relief. "For a minute there, I thought you're eating all of our lunch."
"Careful or I'll be eating you." Ventus warned him with his dragon eyes, making Sanji gasp with shock but the young Dragoon chuckle a bit. "Calm down, I'm just kidding. I don't eat humans, I'm only saying those words just to scare them off."
"Geez, would it kill you to give me a little warning?" Sanji asks with annoyance.
"And spoil the fun? Not a chance." Ventus retorts with a laugh. "Anyway, lunch is ready."
"Alright." Sanji said with a sigh.
Sanji let Nami know that lunch is ready, making Luffy and Usopp excited for the foor while Zoro and Nami head towards the cabin to eat.
Unknown Island, Grand Line
Meanwhile somewhere on the island, the two pirates were keeping an eye on the sea. What he saw is 'Hawkeye' Mihawk coming straight towards the island.
"What's that?"
"Let me see."
He then look at the telescope, seeing 'Hawkeye' Mihawk coming here on the island, leaving him scared. When 'Hawkeye' Mihawk disembarks, he was surrounded by pirates which he completely ignores them, but one of the pirates spoke.
"Why are you here? Answer me, 'Hawkeye'!?"
"Just calm down. Where is your leader?" 'Hawkeye' Mihawk asks with his calm tone. "My business is with him."
With that, he then rush towards his Captain which 'Hawkeye' Mihawk was left alone with a group of pirates.
"Camping out on an island? What a carefree man." 'Hawkeye' Mihawk muttered seriously.
When the pirate ran off towards somewhere in the jungle where 'Red-Haired' Shanks and his crew were making camp, but he and his crew were sitting under a tree with a sickly expression.
"BOSS!?"
He then collapse down to his knees while panting heavily due to running, one of Shanks crew give him a mug of ale, causing him to drink quickly as he then spoke.
"H-H-H-H-Hawkeye!"
Before he could finish warning his Captain, 'Hawkeye' Mihawk was able to follow him and found 'Red-Haired' Shanks.
"Hey there, 'Hawkeye'." Shanks greets. "To what do I owe the pleasure? Have you come to fight me? Cuz' you know, I'm not feeling so good at the moment."
"Now that you've lost your left arm, I have no intention of settling a score." 'Hawkeye' Mihawk told him, showed him a wanted poster. "I've recently found an interesting pirate, seeing him reminded me of a story you use to tell. A story about a boy, a strange boy from a small village."
When 'Hawkeye' Mihawk showed the wanted poster of Luffy, 'Red-Haired' Shanks widened his eyes while his crew have earned his attention when they saw the wanted poster which they knew it was Luffy.
"Luffy, you made it." Shanks said with a smile. "All right then 'Hawkeye' in that case."
'Hawkeye' Mihawk glared at Shanks, not liking where this is going.
"I'm afraid I can't let you just leave, not now." Shanks said evilly.
Shanks then place the mug on the tree stump as he then filled it with liquor.
"'Hawkeye', drink up. Go on, tilt her back. It's a celebration." Shanks declared, causing 'Hawkeye' Mihawk to look at him with a scowl.
"Weren't you hungover?" 'Hawkeye' Mihawk stated.
"No way, not anymore. Drink, drink, drink, drink it up, that's it." Shanks encouraged him as 'Hawkeye' Mihawk then drinks up, causing the red-haired pirate to laugh. "Everybody, let's get drunk!"
"Yeah, but wait boss, I thought you said you felt like crap cuz' you drank too much last night." The fat pirate points out.
"Don't be stupid, I can not drink on a joyous day like today." Shanks told him.
"But the sun is still hot." 'Hawkeye' Mihawk pointed out.
"Don't sweat it." Shanks reassures with a laugh. "Time to party!"
Somewhere at Sea, East Blue
Meanwhile after the Straw Hat pirates have finished eating their lunch, Nami then placed a map on the deck floor while having serious discussions about the Grand Line.
"We're getting closer." Nami said. "We've almost made it to the Grand Line and...it looks like the only into it is here, through the Reverse Mountain."
"What a pain." Zoro stated with a scowl. "There's gotta be somewhere around that thing."
"There's not." Ventus shook his head. "It's a one-way trip, but between the blue line called 'Calm Belt' is not a good idea to cross there. The reason is because the Sea Kings goes over there and make there nesting grounds. Also another reason is because the Calm Belt doesn't have the wind blowing. Going over there would be suicide."
Nami, Sanji, and Zoro were completely surprised that Ventus knows about the sea, but remembered that he travels at sea longer than them.
"But how come?" Usopp questions.
"Cuz' it's really dangerous." Sanji answered.
"Yeah, but how come?" Usopp questions again.
"Didn't you listen what Ventus have told us!?" Sanji shouts with annoyance.
"See, the reason is-"
"Hey! I got an idea, why don't we sail-
Before Luffy could finish up his suggestion, Ventus breaths fire at the rubber Captain, causing him to run like crazy when his butt is on fire. Few minutes later, Luffy was able to extinguish the fire as he spoke.
"What was that for?!" Luffy yelled.
"Were you really that stupid?!" Ventus growled with anger. "Didn't you even listen for what I have told?!"
"My way sound-"
Ventus have had enough when he quickly grab hold of him.
"If you try to have us killed cuz' of your recklessness and your stupidity, I'll burn you to crisp." Ventus warned him with pure rage and steam come out of his mouth. "You understand?"
"Yes, I understand." Luffy nods with fright, scared of him now.
"That's what I thought." Ventus said as he let go of him while turned his head to Nami. "Anyway, we need stop somewhere so we can restock some supplies. Any suggestions?"
Nami nods as she points the small island next to the Red Line.
"There's a famous city on this island known as Loguetown." Nami explains.
"Loguetown, why is it famous?" Luffy asks with confusion. "They got delicious meat?"
"I'm pretty sure I've heard of it before, it's the City of Beginning and the End." Zoro said, leaving Luffy stunned.
"It's the town where the old King of Pirates, Gol D Roger, was both born and killed." Nami explains, leaving Sanji, Usopp, and Ventus stunned of hearing about Gol D Roger was born and died in Loguetown.
"That's where the King of the Pirates died?" Luffy muttered.
"Well?" Nami asks with a smirk.
"Yeah, let's do it." Luffy accepts. "This was the man who had the One Piece, everything the world has to offer. I need to see where he was born and executed.
With that, the Straw Hat pirates then made their decision as they set sail towards Loguetown, the City of the Beginning and the End. Where the previous King of the Pirates, Gol D. Roger was both born and killed.
