Carrie (2013)/War of the Worlds (2005) Crossover Prompt 1
It was another gruelling school day for Carrie White and the other students were quietly talking and giggling about her period incident the day before. The girl was as sad as usual until she learned that she had the power to move objects with her mind in the girls restroom. While the teen researched this phenomena in the school library, the weather outside had grown overcast. The wind picked up and a dark cloud formed not far away.
Later, Carrie exited the school and looked for her mother who had come to pick her up. Suddenly, a series of lightning bolts began striking a certain spot on the ground repeatedly, causing students and other people around to scatter in fright, Carrie included. After a few minutes of this, the lightning stopped and everyone wondered what just happened. Soon, the ground started shaking and an enormous metal object broke through the surface of the road. It stood up on three tentacle-like legs and had three glowing lights on the front of it's head. Carrie watched in fear as it rose to it's full height with a sort of eerie elegance.
A few minutes went by before the three-legged machine let out a loud, horn-like droning sound. Several people covered their ears when they heard it. The gigantic machine then produced two smaller arms from underneath it's head and they began to glow. As the arms were powering up, Carrie had a feeling that something terrible was about to happen so she started running away from the machine while everyone else stood watching. The telekinetic's fears proved correct as deadly energy beams fired out of each arm, instantly turning people into dust, including one of the Ultras named Tina. Soon everyone fled from the titanic tripod as it began stomping through Chamberlain, picking off more people as it went.
