Hello again, everyone! I'm back! Yes, and I'm back once again with Scene 3 of Act 1 of this brand-new Broadway musical script story of mine! Yes, unfortunately this ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic is not over yet, but surely with enough vaccines given out to enough people, we will soon reach that light at the end of this dark tunnel. Until then, its time for this next scene to take place! In this scene, we will all see how both Clyde and Lincoln are doing now, and see what else they will go and do for fun. Maybe outside the house? And yes, of course there will be another musical number within this scene! And now, let's all just sit back, relax, turn off all our electronic devices, and begin Scene 3 of Act 1 of this brand-new Broadway musical script story of mine!

(As the next scene begins to take place, Lincoln and Clyde are almost finished with a level on the video game that they are both playing...)

Lincoln (using the game controller): Yes...yes...no...c-careful...(teeth chatters nervously)

Clyde (shivers; using the game controller): O-o-o-o-okay, almost at the top of the building...yes...yes...come on...

Lincoln (jaw drops): W-W-W-W-WOAH! (jerks joystick of controller to the left) Phew...(sighs) So close to death right there.

(Suddenly, some tragic music sounds are heard from the TV set, just as both Lincoln and Clyde looked horrified and devastated...)

Lincoln (gasps; eyes widen): N-N-N-N-NO! (slams controller onto coffee table) NO! I was SO close! (looks down)

Clyde (sighs and shakes head): Yeah, me too! (slams controller onto coffee table, too) I was THIS close to finishing the level, but then I got killed by a pile of falling bricks! (sighs)

Lincoln (burps): Well, at least those cookies and brownies were so good! (rubs stomach)

Clyde (nods): Yeah, my dads really know how to cook and bake. (burps)

Lincoln (yawns and stands up): Ugh, I'm bored of video games now...(stretches arms out) How long have we been playing for?

Clyde (yawns and looks at watch on his wrist): Well, we started at 8:20am this morning, and its now...10:30am. So that means we have been playing for 2 hours and 10 minutes. (stands up) Man, time really does fly when you're having fun! (stretches arms out)

Lincoln (nods): Oh, you got that right...(lowers his arms) Now, what else can we do today?

Clyde (lowers his arms): I have no idea...(shrugs) What do you think, Lincoln?

Lincoln (rubs his chin): Hmmm...(face lights up) Say...(stops rubbing his chin) why don't we go to the local park?!

Clyde (eyes widen): Yes! Now, THAT, is a great idea!

Lincoln: Yes, its perfect! We can...play with a Frisbee and a ball...

Clyde: And...(holds up index finger) we can pack a picnic lunch!

Lincoln: Y-yeah, that's a good idea!

Clyde: Well, let's go start packing that picnic lunch! (walks away from sofa area of setting) We keep a picnic basket in the cabinet above the fridge! (walks towards the kitchen area of the setting)

Lincoln: And I'll make us both some sandwiches!

Clyde: Let's have a variety of sandwiches for this picnic! We can do peanut butter and grape jelly, peanut butter and banana, BLT, ham and cheese...

Lincoln: Oh, and we can have potato ships and crackers as a side dish!

Clyde: And we can pack up the rest of the cookies and brownies for dessert!

Lincoln: Yeah, great idea! (walks towards the kitchen area of the setting) But...(scratches the top of his head) what can we take to drink?

Clyde (rubs his chin): Hmmm...let me think...(face lights up) Oh, I got it! (stops rubbing his chin) I got a whole pitcher of lemonade in the fridge! We can take two thermoses, and fill them each with lemonade to drink!

Lincoln: Well, will these thermoses keep the lemonade cold?

Clyde (nods): Yep! For up to 5 hours, the lemonade will stay cold! (walks into kitchen section)

Lincoln: Great! Well, what are we waiting for?! Let's pack up! (walks into kitchen section, too)

(As Lincoln and Clyde both head into the kitchen set, some transitional music begins to play in the background, and another set transition begins to take place. As it does, a large backdrop panel painted to looked like several trees and bushes surrounding a large yellow-brown rectangular sign with the words "Ketchum Park" displayed on it in dark brown letters comes down near the front area of the stage, concealing the entire setting of the living room and entryway section of the McBride house behind it. As this backdrop panel comes down into its place, the transitional music stops playing in the background. As it does, both Clyde and Lincoln enter stage left, with Lincoln holding a large picnic basket, and Clyde holding a large tote bag with some balls and a rolled-up white and red checkered tablecloth inside...)

Lincoln: Well, we made it! Man, at first, I thought the bus would never get here!

Clyde: Yep, we did! (looks down at his watch) And its only...11:00am! Just in time for playing some ball, and then an early lunch at 11:30am!

Lincoln: Ah, perfect! We are great at planning activities like this together, Clyde!

Clyde: Oh, you know it! (smiles) Now, let's go find a great picnic spot! (exits stage right)

Lincoln: I'm right behind you, buddy! (exits stage right)

(As both Lincoln and Clyde exit stage right, the sound of some birds chirping in the background occur for about 15 seconds. As they do, the entire large backdrop panel painted to looked like several trees and bushes surrounding a large yellow-brown rectangular sign with the words "Ketchum Park" displayed on it in dark brown letters rises up, revealing a large set resembling an area of the park itself behind it. This new setting includes a large light blue back wall panel with some fluffy clouds painted up high on it located at the very back area of the stage, some tall trees on both the left and right side of the stage positioned in the back, center, and front sections of said stage, a few thick bushes lined up against the bottom of the back wall panel topped with some colorful flowers, and a swing set, metal jungle gym, and slide positioned towards the back area of the stage. As the backdrop panel rises up out of view both Lincoln and Clyde enter stage left, and position themselves in the center area of the stage. As they do, they both begin to set up their picnic area...)

Lincoln (turns to face the entire audience): Say, is it just me, or are we the only ones in the park right now? (places picnic basket down in front of him) I just think that is very unusual...(scratches the top of his head)

Clyde (takes out rolled-up table cloth and unrolls it): Well, with technology out there such as video games, portable medical devices, and even now VR gaming, its very rare to see kids outside and playing in parks anymore. (positions tablecloth in the center area of the stage)

Lincoln (stops scratching the top of his head): Well...I guess that makes sense. (places picnic basket on a corner of the tablecloth)

Clyde: Anyways, this is the perfect spot we found! (unloads Frisbee, baseball, and basketball from the tote bag and places them on top of the tablecloth)

Lincoln: Say, let's play some catch! (picks up baseball) Want to throw first, Clyde?

Clyde (shakes head): Nah, I'm good catching first while you throw, Lincoln. (steps back a few feet over on the right side of the stage)

Lincoln (steps back a few feet over on the left side of the stage): Go long, Clyde! (tosses ball at Clyde)

Clyde (holds out arms and catches the ball): Got it! (readies arm to throw ball) Go for it, Lincoln! (tosses it towards Lincoln)

Lincoln (catches the ball): Yeah! Get ready, Clyde! (tosses ball back to Clyde)

Clyde (catches the ball): Oh, yeah! Good throw, Lincoln!

(As both Lincoln and Clyde continue to toss their baseball back and forth between each other, the child actor playing Benny Stein (played by a 15-year-old since he's one year older than his character's age of 14) enters stage left towards the front area of the stage, carrying his marionette puppet, Ms. Appleblossom in both hands in front of him. As he appears for the first time, the entire audience cheers and claps very loudly for his first appearance. After about 30 seconds, the loud cheering and clapping from the entire audience dies down. As it does, both Lincoln and Clyde stopped both what they were doing, and looked over at Benny...)

Lincoln: Hey, I haven't seen that kid around here before...(scratches the top of his head) Do you know him by any chance, Clyde?

Clyde (shakes his head): No, I don't think so...(looks confused) Maybe he's new to Royal Woods.

Lincoln (stops scratching the top of his head): Yeah, that's got to be the reason.

Clyde: Is that a marionette puppet he's holding?

Lincoln (nods): Yep, that definitely is one.

Clyde: But is it just me or does he look...lonely? (looks concerned)

Lincoln (nods): Yeah...he does look lonely. But...I wonder why?

Clyde (looks concerned): Yeah, I'm wondering that too...

(At this point, Benny stands over in the front-center area of the stage, some soft emotional piano music begins to play in the background. As it does, the stage lights shinning over the center and back areas of the stage dim. As they do, Benny turns to face the entire audience. As he does, he steps forward and then begins to sing the next musical number of the show...)

Benny (singing): My mom says...

I have great talents,

As an actor...

And a ventriloquist! (holds up Mrs. Appleblossom)

My dad says...

That moving out here,

Will be a fresh start,

For the whole family!

I'm so sad...

I just wanted to,

Stay in New York City,

And become a Broadway actor! (lowers Mrs. Appleblossom)

But now I caaaaaaan't...

I live out here now,

In Royal Woods,

And I have no friends like I did before...(steps forward to the front-center edge of the stage)

I'll find a friend,

Hopefully...

Someone out there,

Will have the same interests as me!

I'll find a friend,

Yes, I will...

I'll find someone,

To respect me for who I am!

Such as ventriloquism...

And actiiiiiiiiiiiiing!

Or maybe just some plain comedy!

I'll find a friend,

Yes, I will...

And if I don't,

I'll feel nothing but lonely forever!

Yes, lonely forever!

Yes, yes, lonely forever!

Yes, I'll be lonely forever,

Yes, the word is "lonely",

And nothing else!

They say that finding a friend,

Is not an easy taaaaaaaaask!

They say that it takes time to,

Find a friend with the same interests as yoooooooou!

But I CAN'T WAIT THAT LONG! (stomps left foot)

I bet no long can't wait too long!

I cannot wait too long...

Yes, I'm a little impatient myself!

I can't wait...I can't wait...

I just cannot wait to loooooooong...

Oh...I'll find a friend,

Yes, I will...

I'll find someone,

To respect me for who I am!

Maybe they'll cheer...

Maybe they'll clap...

And maybe they'll also give me some respect! (stomps right foot)

A perfect friend...

Just for me...

Will be an absolute miracle to find!

And if I don't,

I will feel sad...(sniffs)

And I'll feel nothing but lonely forever...

So...I will try to find a friend!

Or else, I'll be lonely, yeah!

Yes, lonely forever!

Yes, yes, lonely forever!

Yes, I'll be lonely forever,

Yes, the word is "lonely",

And nothing else!

So, I will find a friend,

A loyal and respectful friend,

And nothing will stop me from doing so...

Until I have the perfect friend to be wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiith!

(The soft emotional piano music stops playing in the background, ending Benny's solo musical number. As it does, the entire audience cheers and claps very loudly. After about 30 seconds, the loud cheering and clapping from the entire audience dies down. As it does, the stage lights shinning over the center and back areas of the stage come back on. As they do, Benny steps back a few feet, and sits down on the stage, sighing sadly and holding Mrs. Appleblossom up to his face as if to talk to her despite her being a marionette puppet. As he does the next scene begins to take place...)

And that was the conclusion of Scene 3, of Act 1 of this brand-new Broadway musical script story of mine! It seems that the entire audience was introduced to Benny Stein, along with his marionette puppet Mrs. Appleblossom at a local park called "Ketcham Park". Oh, poor Benny...a new kid in Royal Woods, Michigan, and he's got not a friend or girlfriend. But it seems that since both Lincoln and Clyde are both nearby, Lincoln might step up to the figurative plate and help Benny out somehow! Of course he would! Oh, and Benny's song was based off of the real-life song, "You'll Be Back" from the popular Broadway, USA/National Tour, and worldwide musical, "Hamilton: An American Musical". Well, its time for us all to move on to Scene 4 of Act 1 of this brand-new Broadway musical script story of mine!
