I started this story last year but never finished it and don't know what happen to it as it seem to be remove from my account. But either way after watching back season 17, I have to finish this story.

Leave a comment and let me know what you guys think as you might not know, but your comment meant the whole to me. And this is basically my intake as to what I think of the whole drama resolving around Teddy and how I want season 17 to be.

Chapter 1: "You're Broken"

She knew that it was ironic as people she knew had always told her that you will be the happiest when you are getting married but contrary, she wasn't at all. There were hundreds of feelings and emotions inside her right now, but happiness wasn't one of them. She gazed at the untouched foods and the empty house and she knew very well that he knew. Owen might have lied to everyone, telling everyone that he had a sudden unexpected surgery but Teddy, someone that knew Owen for such a long time, someone that had been with him through his darkest time knew that it wasn't a sudden or unexpected surgery that had made him cancel tonight. He knew, he knew that she was being unfaithful to him. A tear slid down from her eyes and onto her pale face, she never wanted him to know, if only she could she would rather it remain a secret forever.

But then again how foolish was it for her to think that he will never know, even if no one told him how much longer could she live on and wake up in the arms of Owen pretending as if nothing happened, pretending as if their love story is a fairytale. How could she continue pretending that in her heart there is only Owen? A question arises to the mind of the brilliant cardiology surgeon, how did he know? How did Owen find out? How did he find out today?

Teddy grabbed out her phone as she needed to talk to him, she didn't know what to say but only that they needed to talk and it was at that moment, she realised that she had sent Owen a voice message tonight. She already has her answer as her hand shakingly pressed to hear the voice message and confirming her fear, she heard herself moaning at the time when she was having sex with Tom Koracick. This voice message was enough to confirm her fear, this voice message was enough to know that not only had she hurt and pained Owen through her affair and betrayal but she knew that it will forever scar this man as he would have listened to her fiancee having sex with another man and not him. No longer having the strength to even fight or even hold back her tears, she angrily and frustratingly threw her phone away, watching as her phone crashed onto the wooden floor with a loud bang just like how her life is falling apart. Her hands covered her teary face in shame as her knee weakened and she knelt onto the cold ground.

Iit wasn't supposed to be like this and she had never wanted him to find out like this. She had wanted to tell him since the first night she shared with Tom but she couldn't bring herself too, she was afraid. She was scared and Teddy Altman, someone that everyone sees and views her as a cold superior brilliant heartless cardiologist goddess the GI Jane barbie, no one would have believed that she was scared but she was because she was broken. There were many times that she had told herself and wanted to confess to Owen but she was afraid, she was worried that if Owen was to know, it will ruin the dream of her perfect family, he will leave her just like the way how he tends to do and he will never look at her again in the same way, he will never be able to look at her with anything except for disgust, hatred and resentment and that will be enough to break Teddy.

She knew that it was wrong to run back into the arms of Tom but there was something about Tom that just kept making her run back to him. She was safe with Tom, safe in his arms and she was the only person in his eyes and she knew that Tom will never leave her or will never be able to hurt her as much as Owen can. Her sobs only grew louder as she allowed herself to cry, allowing herself to be weak and vulnerable for once. This night wasn't supposed to be like this, it wasn't supposed to end with tears but it is because she had broken everything that she once had and could have. She hated herself and she will never stop resenting herself as she knows that not only is she broken but she had also hurt Owen, she had broken him.

The loud music that was blaring in his ear wasn't his usual taste of music and normally he would have made a comment but tonight, he wasn't in the mood. His finger circled the smooth edge of the glass rim and his eyes stared right at the brown liquid before he hastily raised the cup to his lip and swallowed the liquid that was burning in his throat. "Hey, my friends ditched on me last minute and that looks good. Care to buy me a drink?" A voice asked seductively as Tom turned toward the direction of the voice and standing closely toward him was a gorgeous looking brunette woman, her eyes were staring at Tom and he knew what she wanted. Normally at any time, he would have dive in because that was how he is but now, not tonight and he doesn't know can he ever anymore. He chuckled sadly as he waved at the bartender, "give the lovely lady a glass, will you and one more for myself" he ordered, "do you find me attractive?"

She giggled at his question before whispering in his ear, "I find you very handsome." Tom didn't say anything else but again only let out a smile, "well she didn't" he mumbled to no one in particular and watched as the bartender placed two glasses of scotch in front of them. Clearing his throat and pulling away from her, "well here you drink so now take your drink and find someone else tonight." The gorgeous brunette just stared at him in shock and humiliation, she wasn't expecting him to reject her advance. "Really?" She stated in disbelief as seeing there wasn't going to be any response, she stormed off without looking back or touching the glass of scotch that was in front of her. Shrugging his shoulders carelessly, he grabbed the drink that was meant for the brunette and drank in one gulp, "I like blonde" he confessed.

He didn't know what was happening except for the fact that he was getting out of control, Tom Koracick, a man that slept with plenty of women. Apart from his previous wife, he never really loved someone else or had any attachment with anyone but Teddy, she was different, she was different to all the other woman that he had sex with. She was more than just a woman that had a vagina, she meant the world to him, he loved her. He had never wanted to be with someone so bad, he had tried so hard to tell himself that he needs to stay away from her as she is becoming a married woman but he can't, he can't resist her and he can't let go of her. Tom knew that she made her decision, she had chosen Owen in the times when Owen had hurt him and had gone back to Amelia even though it was him the one that looked after Teddy, he was the one that loved and supported her when she was pregnant but at the end, she still had chosen Owen and even tonight, she still again had chosen Owen.

Tom just doesn't understand why, why is this woman always going back to the man that had hurt her, why is she going back to the man that always treated as a second choice, why was she that stupid. "I really do love you if only you let me" he whispered in a defeated tone as he grabbed his glass of the intense scotch, he thought he finally had her tonight, he thought that she would agree to leave with him and to skip the wedding but he was wrong. He didn't know what happened and he didn't understand, at one moment they were kissing passionately at each other, at one moment he told her I love you and at that moment even herself was finally able to admit it, she was finally able to admit back to him that she loved him. But how can things escalated so fast, he thought he had her as they were having sex at one moment and to suddenly for her to confessed that she is not going to leave with him and that she is still going to marry Owen.

He doesn't understand, he doesn't understand what happened tonight and he can't comprehend it but what hurt him was her last sentence, "this is goodbye." After they finished having sex, after they both finished confessing to each other that they love each other, she suddenly just said this is goodbye and pulled away from him, suddenly telling him that she can't continue doing this to Owen or him and that she was sorry before she grabbed her stuff and left the office, left him.

The more he thinks about it, the more pain he starts feeling and more angry he was, she loved him and he loved her but why does she still have to make it so difficult? And how can she after that moment tell him that it is goodbye and going to marry someone else? He is angry at her, how can she just dispose of him like that? He knows she was hurting, he knows she was in pain and he was well aware that he was also to be blamed as he didn't stop her when she first came to his hotel room. He knew she wasn't right, he knew she wasn't her normal self and he knew she was hurting but he didn't care, he didn't stop her and at that time, in their office she was apologising to him, apologising to their mistake but it was himself that didn't want to believe that it was a mistake. He knew that she came to him not because she just wanted someone but it was because part of her also wanted him, she was just too foolish to believe and still trying to convince herself that she still loves Owen. He isn't going to allow it, he is Tom Korarick he normally gets what he wants. He needs to speak to her even if it was for him to once again face to face hear her telling him that it is goodbye again, or even if it means watching her kissing and exchanging vow to another man. He still needs to talk to her and he needs to find her

With a firm decision, he was going to fight for her and he didn't know what the outcome was but all he knows is that if he let her go, he would regret it. He swiftly swallowed the scotch before grabbing his jacket and walked out of the bar, he needs to find her now.

The room was dark and quiet, he didn't turn the light on as right now all he felt was the pain. He was shirtless as he was doing push-ups in the isolated and quiet room, he didn't feel cold nor did he feel tired as all he felt was pain and anger. How can she do this to him? He didn't stop as he continued pushing himself, he had already lost count as to how many push-ups he had done tonight and this wasn't supposed to be the way how tonight will go. He was supposed to exchange vows and married the woman of his life, married the mother of his children and married his best friend.

He trusted her, he believed her but how can she? How can she betray him and hurt him like this after everything they went through? Yes, he knew he hadn't been the best character or been the best man in her life but he had tried to change, he had tried so hard and fought so hard for this relationship but how can she go into the arms of another man and to not even be honest with him? How is he supposed to trust her again?

Owen was tired, not only was he tired from doing the push-up but he was tired of running around in his life trying to find the right one. He thought he had when he engaged with Beth, but he wanted more and he wasn't just content being with Beth, he married Cristina but clearly, she wasn't meant to be for him as they couldn't share the same value. He married Amelia but their relationship wasn't enough and it didn't complete him. Then there was Teddy, she had always been in his life and she had always been in his mind even when he was with another woman. He had always loved her and even now he still loves her, but the timing was just never right for them. They never had just the chance to be together and just when he thought he finally could be with her, she cheated on him and didn't even tell him. She was supposed to be his person, someone that he can always expect her to be honest and someone that he can always trust.

He stopped as he sat on the floor, gasping for air tiredly and right now there are tears that are coming down from his eyes and the sweats that were dripping onto his forehead, he couldn't care less. He just wanted to know why? He just wanted to know why she would choose to hurt him like this? He wanted to know does she love Tom and most importantly, he wants to know will they be able to recover and move from this? How can he forgive her? How can he even trust her again? What is going to happen to Allison? But most importantly what is going to happen to them now?

As anger consumed him, he stood up from his spot and threw his arm on the metal rack of the medical supplies as he pushed them all down onto the floor resulting in a loud bang that echoed through the quiet room. He placed both hands behind his head helplessly as he prayed and hoped that someone could just come in and tell him that everything will be okay. if only someone can just tell him that is all a misunderstanding, that Teddy didn't cheat on him. If only someone can just come in and tell him that everything will be fine.

Stepping out from his car, he looked outside of the house and he hated it. He hated the sight or even the idea of Teddy being with Owen, he didn't know what he was going to get but all he knew was that he needed this chance. Walking toward the door, he gave it a knock and it was only then he realised that the door was unlocked, without even asking or waiting for permission, he pushed open the door gently as he walked inside the awfully quiet house. He wasn't expecting it to be quiet, he thought they were having a small wedding tonight here and just when he thought that maybe he got the wrong address, he heard her. He heard a soft sob and he could instantly recognise who that belonged to as he hurried toward the direction of the voice and he came straight toward the woman that he loved.

Tom looked at her, she was on the ground with her two hands covering her face in shame and the surrounding, even though there wasn't a single word or a single noise apart from her crying, he knew what happen and he wasn't sure himself was he happy that the marriage had called off or was he upset to see her in a state like this, in a state of so vulnerable. She wasn't her usual self and she hasn't been for a while, the woman that Tom had first love was an independent, strong, confident and brilliant cardiologist but now and lately all he can see was a woman that was struggling, a woman that was in her own cage of pain, insecure fear and her own demons that she couldn't set herself free. He wasn't angry at her, how can he ever be angry at her as he noticed the half-empty bottle of scotch that was beside her and all he could see were the tears that were streaming down her face like a broken pipe. Tom was angry, he was angry at her for not allowing herself to be happy, he was angry at Owen for being the reason why she is breaking down and falling apart. Angry at how Owen claimed to love and know Teddy the best but yet failed to see that she was struggling, but mostly Tom was angry at himself for being one of the sole reasons for her pain.

He knelt down in front of her as he placed a hand around her shoulder, "Teddy" he whispered in a gentle voice and surprising him, she shrugged his hand off hastily as she looked up and onto him for the first time.

Their eyes gazed at each other and all Tom could see was the pain and regret that was consuming her alive, "Teddy" he murmured again and she shook her head, "go Tom. Go" she yelled at him, not wanting to be with him or even face him at this moment.

"You're crying" he stated the obvious as his hand raised up to touch her face, wanting to wipe the tear off her and she only pulled back, no longer wanting to be touched by him. She stood up from her spot as she took a step back "Go, just leave. I don't want to see you" she shouted in a tone that lingered with hostility and the hostile only pained him more but he wasn't going to go. He wasn't going to go and abandon her, instead without another word he stood up and he leaned forward as he grabbed her bony structure with his two hands and pulled her toward him, wrapping his arms around her in a tight embrace.

He could feel Teddy's resistance as she tried to push him away from the embrace but she wasn't a match for Tom and despite she did not want to admit, she needs a shoulder at this moment right now.

"Tom, go, just please go" her hostile tone becomes a tone of desperate pleading, "I am not going. I am never going. I am not going to leave you like this. You are broken Teddy, you are in pain. Just admit it." His words seemed to hit her on the right spot as he felt that she was no longer pushing away and instead she relaxed into his embrace, "he's gone. He knows, he knows" she cried as she buried her face inside his jacket. Tom didn't say anything as he only gave a nod to let her know that he is listening before resting his head gently onto hers, "it will be okay" he whispered, "it will." He wasn't sure who he was comforting with those words, himself or to Teddy because at that moment, it pains him to know that she was hurt but also because she had once again chosen and he wasn't the first choice.

The word it will be okay, they both know that it won't be but at that moment, it was all they need to continue on believing and carrying on this false hope that maybe they will be okay.
