Korgarus conquest campaign day 14

The hive city Emira-The last hive under Imperial control.

The PDF soldiers were tense with each passing moment, they patrol the street keeping high alert as they look for the slightest trace of movement before returning to base. These past two weeks have been particularly hard on all of them, having to deal with the Genestealer cult rampage.

The desperate and grueling battle to quell the rebellion rage across the hive, consuming countless live in the crossfire, but luckily they were slowly gaining the upper hand as thanks to sabotage from Regulus the cult armory was almost non-existent, and they were forced to rely on their bare hand and whatever pieces of scrap they can find that can be make into weapon.

Still they still suffered massive casualties as Genestealers' purestrain and hybrid tough exoskeletons, superior speed and strength meant that they could take a few shots and get close enough to rip a trooper to shred with their claws.

They try asking for support from other hives, only to find that the same is happening to every other hive on the planet. Things get even worse and morale plummets when some hive just goes dark and any attempt to contact them can only assume that the worse have come to pass, and those hives now fall under the hand of the cult. But still the PDF were winning in this hive and that was good enough in the eye of the general who is leading them. As long as they can regain control over the hive, they can figure out a way to fortify the hive from further attack or even plan to retake the fallen hive.

As the company pulls into the base and get off from their transport, they spot a bright light coming down from the sky and in instance, and then they knew nothing more than they and the entire base was obliterated by the fireball.

I reap the soul from the dead soldiers and store them within me before they get sucked into the warp and be assimilated into its wave and mark the end of the final PDF base in the hive. The planet is now officially under my control. All of my warriors have spell matrices built in that will harvest the soul of the soldier that they have killed and put them into stasis, and the soul will be automatically transported back into the soul matrix back at Dawnbreak to deal with at a later time.

Now that the battle is over, I will start to cement my rule over the planet. I plan to resurrect the dead soldier and incorporate them back into society after some rehabilitation of course. To be honest this entire campaign has mostly been a one-sided slaughter rather than an actual war, the different in quality between my warrior

I ordered my troop to prepare the Vox system to declare my rulership over the planet. Using magic so that all who hear can understand me, I begin my speech.

"People of Korgarus. I am Mikhail the lord of Regulus and as of today I declare myself the ruler of this planet. The PDF forces in this planet have fallen before the might of my warriors, as well as the vile hive noble and Genestealer present on this planet have been purged completely.

But be not afraid we are not here to harm you but to save help you achieve a better and brighter future, for too long you have been forced to kneel and grovel at the feet of the Imperium sacrificing your blood, sweat and soul only to get nothing back.

What has the Imperium promised you ? Did they promise you honor ? What honor is there to have ? In being treated as disposable pawns as mere numbers on a spreadsheet instead of living breathing individual human beings ? Who beside your close friend and family truly mourns and honors your dead ?

Did they promise you glory ? What glory is there to have ? In being slaves forced to toil away day after day in dangerous manufactorums just to continue living a short and miserable life and leaving your children, your grandchildren and their children's children to do the same until the end of time ?

Did they promise you salvation ? Where is salvation when you need it, where is salvation when you are dying from hunger and thirst ? Where is it when they judge you guilty of a crime that your distant ancestor might or might not have committed ? Where it is when Genestealer roam the street raping your friend, family and children ?

Did they promise you protection ? Justice ? Well-being ? Or even the bare necessity of life ? No they did not, they didn't even have the decency to try and promise you they shame you with lies and false teaching and ask you how dare you demand those things from them ?

They have done it for so long that you yourself have begun to believe in those lies.

Those blood sucking parasites rob you of your effort, growing fat and lazy with them, to sacrifice nothing and gaining everything in return. Who with just the tiniest piece of scrap stuck in their gaping maw could save the life of countless citizens and yet refused and continue to gorge themselves while you continue to are the vilest of friend and demon that paraded themselves upon heaven while good and innocent soul burn in hell.

And those who recognize the truth dare not speak it because the Imperium will stamp on them the label of heretic and threaten them that it would seek them out and destroy them wherever they may for its threat the Imperium keeps no promises, but I do.

Today I wish to make a promise to each and every one among you who hear and comprehend my voice. I promise you a future where you will have good food to eat, clean water to drink and fresh air to breathe.

A future where one can see and enjoy the fruit of their labor and to climb higher than the station of your birth and to reach for the star in the heaven above. A just and fair world governed by those who have your best interest at heart. Today, this planet shall be renamed as Neo Terra, and we shall be the true inheritor of the human spirit."

Author note : damn this one taken a while and I have been rewriting this chapter a bunch of times to give the war a good ending but nothing feel right, so I just went ahead and just finish the whole thing. I can't say I'm happy with the chapter to be honest, but this should at least be better than nothing.
