JABBERWOCK ISLAND

The sixteen former students got off the ship after they had taken the blame for the future foundation killing. They looked over what would be their new home for who knows how long.

Hiyoko said, "This place looks nothing like it did when we were inside the virtual reality."

Hajime responded, "Well the place was created to be a kind of island paradise for us. Reality isn't that pleasurable sometimes."

Sonia proclaimed, "Well, we will all do our best to make this place as livable as we can. Right, Ryota?"

Ryota simply nodded his head in agreement.

Hajime noticed Ryota, "He still must feel like an outsider." He thought as Ryota talked with Imposter.

"Don't fret mortal, the demons of darkness will make this place feel like home soon enough," Gundham shouted.

Hajime smiled at Gundham's outburst. He was starting to get used to everyone.

Mahiru walked up to Hajime, "Are you doing ok?"

Hajime nodded, "I just wonder what my life would have been like if I had met all of you earlier...If we would really have been friends like we were in the New World."

Mahiru thought for a second, "I think we would have been," She smiled, "None of us were really friends, in the beginning, just classmates. But she brought us together." Her smile turned sad.

"Chiaki."

"Yeah, I never thought a quiet girl like that could bring us together, but somehow she did it," She started shedding some tears.

"I miss her too," Hajime wiped away her tears with his hand. "By the way, I discovered the reason she appeared in the Neo World."

"Really?"

"Apparently the program was supposed to combine what we thought were cool traits into one person, but apparently all fifteen of us had the same person in mind and all of our memories of her became the AI Chiaki."

"So that's why she was there."

"Hey, are you two getting close?"

They looked and saw Hiyoko walking up.

"Hey, Hiyoko."

"Are Onii-chan and Onee-chan getting closer?"

"You still think of me as an older brother type..." Hajime muttered.

"Yup, and out of all the guys here you are the only one good enough for Onee-chan!"

Mahiru blushed, "It's not like that at all."

As Hiyoko teased Mahiru, Hajime decided to help the others with their unpacking. He saw Peko and Fuyuhiko carrying some boxes. "Do you two need any help?"

"Thanks for the offer, but I think we can handle it," Fuyuhiko replied.

"What is all this stuff?" Hajime asked.

Peko replied, "Makoto sent us this, apparently this was some of the stuff that we had when he found us. Stuff we got when we were Remnants."

"Do you really want to keep stuff like that?"

"There is no point in running from our past. We may have been thinking differently thanks to the mind control but we still did the stuff we did."

"So do you know what files in this box are?"

"It was from when we were harassing a few young scientists our age. Apparently, they were messing with a Microwave that could apparently send text messages and memories into the past."

"That sounds like some kind of sci-fi stuff."

"Probably but the thought of spreading despair in the past interested us, so we stole the plans from their brains."

"From their brains?"

"Yeah, we had a device that could suck people's memories from them leaving them a mindless husk."

"Did you try building it?" Hajime asked.

"No, even if we wanted to we aren't mechanical types. We were going to ask Kazuichi to see if he could build it, but we were captured by the Future Foundation soon after."

"You mind if I look at it? It's probably nothing but it might be a nice distraction."

"I don't care," Fuyuhiko handed the files over to Hajime.

Hajime flipped through the papers. "Hmmm, could this really work? According to this information, the main scientist's mind could detect when the timeline changed so he could document when he was in different timelines or world lines as he called it. I wonder if my Izuru talents could help me know if the timeline changed too if this is even real."

Hajime walked off towards Kazuichi, "Hey want to see if we can build something?"

A few days later, Hajime and Kuzuichi were looking at the microwave and computer combination. "So this is the Phonewave?" Kazuichi asked.

Hajime responded, "Yeah, there is another level to this machine called the Time Leap Machine, but there is no point in upgrading it if we don't know if it even works."

"Should we tell the others about this?"

"Not yet, we should do some experiments to see if this works."

"But what text message should we send?"

"It shouldn't be something major, or we might mess up the world more than it already is." Hajime took out his cell phone and typed out a Text Message.

STAY SAFE

The Machine turned on and started crackling lightning and sparks. Hajime took a deep breath and pressed the send button.

All of a sudden the world seemed to warp in front of him and became all wavy.

FIVE YEARS EARLIER

A beep alerted Chiaki she had a text message; she paused the game she was playing while sitting on a bench. She took her cell out and looked at it.

STAY SAFE

"Huh, who sent this? It's not a number I recognize," She looked closer at the sender. "Huh, it says the send date is five years in the future. That's strange."

Chiaki put her cell back into her pocket and continued the game she was playing.
