Review Corner:
kaisar-dinasty: No one ever expects that vtubers are part of the plot! This part was an experiment if anything, I wanted to make it so that the story isn't just locked from a single perspective all the time, so I wouldn't break them into different chapters.
Notoki: A back and forth kind of story line, yes. Yoake do be dumdum, as am myself lol. Here's the next one~
M.G: Well, chalk it up to Yoake being a single brain celled person, there's a scene for that here too.
Loxxe: Big kusa, it do be a sign from the gods. Thanks~ grammar error is a thing that I live with even when talking so I just roll with it. Funny video lol.
William Kalen Bryce Roy: Nope, sticking with it.
Kept123: Thanks~ Here's the next one~
merendinoemiliano: We do need more supernatural martial arts and not Dragon Ball style beam shooting.
ptl: Ah yes, all my sources being shown lol. I will probably add a bit of Yumelia at one point for more single brain cell moments.
ROCuevas: Thanks~ Here's more~
kuriboh1233: Thanks~ Most gamer stories are kind of bland now that I think about it, most of the reason why I don't do those are because too much numbers make my head hurt lol. Hopefully I can write with just enough balance like you said.
Anyway.
I own what I own.
Onigoroshi
Chapter 3
Hidden Secret Technique
It was for the first time ever in his life that he felt every single cell in his body scream in primal instinct that told him to run the hell away from the man.
And if he was being honest, who wouldn't run away right after meeting a stranger wearing what was basically a cosplay in the middle of the woods right after they just got into an accident that could have possibly taken their life?
Especially from a person that had basically just threatened to kill them.
That thought certainly jerked Issei back to face the reality of the situation.
That crazy cosplay dude that acted extremely creepily and had just appeared out of nowhere in the middle of a forest that they had just wound up in had just threatened to kill them all.
Well, at least Issei now understood why a logical part of his brain was telling him to run away.
But even without that logical part of his brain explaining to his dumb ass as to why going with a creepy cosplay dude in the middle of a forest is definitely not the thing to do right after wounding up in said creepy forest, the primal instinct in his body already tells him exactly what he should do in this situation.
RUN! RUN! RUN! YOU'RE GONNA DIE YOU IDIOT RUN AWAY!
But even as the horned monster in human flesh unsheathed his katana-holyshithehasanactuallkatanawhatthefuck-, and even as the blade was pulled out and was let glistening in the moonlight, he couldn't run, or rather his body couldn't move.
His legs were shaking in fear-ofcoursetheyareyou'regoingtodietoacreepwithakatana- but they were also rooted in place. From the corner of his eyes, he also saw that everyone else other than the creepy cosplayer man was also unmoving like him, fear and dread clear in their faces.
He idly notes how his body acted like those background characters in a shounen manga when they met the big bad, like how they were rooted in fear and couldn't move as the bad guy walked slowly towards them, a trope that's usually used to hype up the bad guy.
It was a trope that he and his friends liked, after all it's usually at that timing that the hero swoops in right before the bad guy manages to get a hit in on the civilian and the really cool awesome fight begins.
But being on the receiving end of that trope certainly does not feel good, especially because of the fact that HOLY SHIT THEY WERE GOING TO DIE!
He could hear the sound of sobbing coming from someone, multiple people to be exact, and he also definitely felt that his cheeks were getting wet from tears too.
Oh gods they were going to die. He doesn't want to die. He has so much to live for! He still has so many things that he wants to do! Like building his harem or the backlog of porn mags and ero doujinshis that he hasn't read yet!
He saw that the man's face turned sour, a clear frown marring his ikemen-like face. "Tch, to think that you all will make it harder for this one by being emotional." He said to everyone in the clearing.
"Ah~ if only it wasn't a mission given by the lord, then this one could have drawn out more and more beautiful emotion from the lot of you." The man said with a deranged smile as he walked closer and closer towards the closest one to him, his katana being dragged and leaving marks on the ground.
He couldn't exactly see who the person who was standing right in front of the man, but from the tail end of the brown twintails that he could see in the corner of his vision, he could tell that it was none other than Murayama.
He felt his blood run cold as the man's smile became wide enough to reach his eyes, fangs bared to the world as he did so.
"Ah~ this one truly could have had derived enjoyment from the lot of you." The man said as he eyed the twin tailed girl who could do nothing but tremble in fear. "Then, let us start with you."
The man then raised his katana, that maddened grin still plastered on his face, and he felt his blood grow cold as the man did so.
Say whatever you want about Issei Hyoudou, but he was someone that still knows what the boundaries to not cross are. He might be a pervert that would peep at the girl's changing rooms, he might be a pervert that would bring porn mags to school, and he might be an idiot who could at best get a barely passing grade.
But even he, a degenerate of a person, knows that it was wrong to kill someone, to take away someone's life, let alone that of a person with a bright future like Murayama.
So it surprised everyone, even himself, that he had somehow, unconsciously, broken through whatever it was that had rooted him on the spot and had somehow gathered enough strength to rush and tackle the man.
He didn't know what came over him that led him to do that. And just as before he knew it, shouts and screams filled the clearing.
"Oho? To think that this one would find a young one capable of breaking through the veil of killing intent." The horned man said as he threw him right into a tree with barely an inconvenience.
He choked out some spit and blood as he was smacked into the tree by the cosplay wearing freak. And as he fell down to the dirt below, he could feel fear and dread wounding up again in his mind as that horned demon man walked slowly towards him.
"Nay, but more distressing would be my inability to even protect myself from the measly attack of a child. " The man mused as he stroked his chin with his free hand. "This one should not play anymore with the mission then. The mission is of utmost importance for our race."
The man's creepy smile disappeared, replaced with a neutral face that showed no hints of emotions. And saying so the man appeared before him, the katana raised high towards the heavens above.
He tried to move, he truly did. He did so with the motivation of NOT WANTING TO FRICKING DIE. but to no avail, all that he could muster was to slight lift his body ever so slightly from the ground, only to fall over again.
What did he expect really? He never did exercise to keep his body fit, if anything the only thing that kept his body as healthy as it is other than the healthy food that his mom kept cooking was the beating that he gets from the girls kendo club every so often.
"Goodbye young child."
Ohgodhe'sgoingtodieandhe'sstillavirgin! Atleastlethimactuallytouchsomebooobsbeforeheactuallydies!
He could do nothing but close his eyes as the blade of the katana came ever so closer, awaiting for the end to come for him.
There's many things that he regrets, too many to even count if he was being honest. Like the backlog of porn and not being able to actually make his parents proud, that and not even being able to grab boobs or make his harem.
But he didn't regret doing what he just did, doing what was basically sacrificing himself for the sake of Murayama who he knew for sure was an actual good person.
Make no mistake, the full brunt of the situation still hasn't really fallen to him, but he tries to not think that he's probably going to die in an incredibly painful way and think of something else instead.
Ah, since this whole debacle literally screamed swords and magic, if he dies will he go to Hell and meet some hot devil girls? Or maybe he'll go to Heaven and meet some super hot angels since he was a good person at heart?
Are those places even real in the first place? Well since he's going to be cut down by a supernatural creature then that place definitely exists right? Doesn't that mean that he'll go to one of those places after he dies for real?
Wait since he's technically more of a Shinto believer, does that mean that he'll meet Enma in Yomi? Are there any hot girls in Yomi? Is it too late for him to change religion now?
Oh! Or maybe he'll get isekaid into one of those super cool harem anime! Hopefully he'll get a hot elf and a cute cat girl in his harem! Those two are the pinnacle of having a fantasy isekai harem after all!
He wondered why the end hadn't come for him yet, and when he scradilly opened his eyes just a little bit to see, he saw that the demon man was being held by multiple people, stopping him from swinging his blade.
He saw the bald mug of Matsuda and the glasses of Motohama from the corner of his eyes, holding the man back from swinging his blade, and he could somehow make out the brown twintails of Murayama, and even the pink hair of Katase too from his blurry vision.
"W-we won't let you!" The glasses-wearing teen cried out as he tried his best to hold the man back, something that he and the others were trying to do.
"He may be a degenerate idiot, but he's our degenerate idiot!" The bald teenager shouted. "We ain't gonna let him die like that! Not right after he just did something really cool like that!"
"I- am Murayama Sakaguchi!" The twin tailed girl shouted. "My ancestors would never forgive me if I don't repay someone that had saved my life!"
"I still don't really get what's happening!" The pink haired girl cried as she too did her best to stop the horned demon man from offing him. "I don't really like him that much, but I won't just let him die like that!"
Seeing his friends and both Murayama and Katase working together to stop that demon man from ending his existence lit something inside of him. It was at this moment, that Issei Hyoudou felt a spark of hope.
It was only a moment later that his hopes of even surviving for a little bit longer was utterly crushed.
The man's emotionless facade falls ever so slightly, showing a scowl that sends shivers down his spine and lowers the clearing's temperature by several degrees from his withering ice cold glare.
"You… curs dare to touch me with your filthy hands." He muttered lowly, barely loud enough for him to hear it, as an unseen force threw off all of the people that had kept him frozen for the short amount of time. They all let out their respective screams and grunts as they hit the dirt ground.
"I had let the boy slide for showing courage comparable to even that of an oni, but now that the time for games has passed, you all are merely wasting my time." The horned monster in human skin growled as he glared at everyone's fallen figure.
The horned monster hurriedly turned his head to look around, and soon looked incredibly pissed at the fact that they were the only remaining people in the clearing, with the others having already run away or were hiding from the person that would most definitely kill them.
"I had intended to give him an end befitting of one as well. But now you have given enough time for my prey to run and hide." The demon said with a deep frown that bared his fangs. "I had intended to give you all a quick and painless death, but now that you lot had brought more burdens onto me I shall make sure that you will experience suffering."
The demon man turned towards him and raised his katana towards the sky once again, this time clearly intending to use it to end him. He knew that virtually, for an unfit and injured pervert like him, he could do nothing to stop the monster in human skin from killing him.
If even four people, two of which were incredibly fit girls who were in the kendo club, could not even stop the man, then how was he supposed to survive this encounter?
And if he's being honest, he would have given up at this point. He certainly can't do anything against the man, let alone fight him in this condition. He can't even fight in the first place! So he definitely couldn't resist the man's blade in any form or way.
But…
Looking at the determined looks that his friends had when they were trying to stop the demon from killing him, the desperate look that Murayama and Katase has when they were doing the same, and the horrified faces of his friends and the two girls has when they knew that they wouldn't be able to save him awoken something within him.
The first thing that he felt awoken inside him was a memory, a long forgotten promise that a young Issei had made with a friend that he has long lost contact with.
A promise between two youthful children, a promise that they would be heroes that would help others when in need, a promise where they would fight evil and deliver justice. It was a promise between children, a promise between children who hadn't understood how the world had worked at that point.
But it was still a promise that the Issei of today had kept close to his heart, even if he doesn't remember it. For even though he was a complete pervert, he was still a good person who would help others when push comes to shove.
The highschool boy felt a feeling of warmth surge from within, a feeling of empowerment at the promise between children, at the memory of his best friend.
It made him think of Irina, how would he feel if he somehow learnt that he had died? Would he be sad? Would he even still remember him?
And what of his parents? How would they feel when their only son, whose legacy was being well known as a pervert, to suddenly pass away? Would they even know of how he even dies? Would they cry? Would they be able to move on?
"And for making this one's mission harder." The man said, katana suspended raised in the air above his head. "I shall be sure to take pleasure in a later date, a visit to the homes of your progenitors should suffice." The monster said with a wicked grin.
It was then that another thing awoke within Issei.
The thought of the man going for his parents, his parents who did nothing wrong, made him churn in his stomach and for rage to boil inside of him. The other thing that awoke inside of him felt similar to the warmth of the memory of the promise, a feeling that was similar yet entirely different
It was as if hot burning fire rested on his left hand, a feeling of empowerment rushed through his body, giving him enough strength to not only stand up, but to also deck the demon right in his face.
The monster was too shocked once again, and froze, making his sloppily thrown punch connect with the monster's face.
The figure had to lean their head to avoid the projectile that was shot. The armored figure glanced towards the damage that the projectile had caused to the road behind them, and saw that a chunk of it was broken, as if it was scraped off the face of the earth.
The red haired devil whom the shot had originated from was fuming. Clearly, the devil noble was angered due to something that they had said, however said figure could not help but wonder what had set her off into a fit of rage.
"YOU!" The red haired girl cried as she glared daggers at the armored figure before her. But she had not continued her line, as she turned away and strode off.
"Rias!" The other devil of the 72 pillars shouted as she looked at the back of the retreating red haired devil, but said devil continued to disappear from their immediate sight, followed by her peerage who glanced towards the armored figure before they left.
The black haired devil noble let out a sigh as she shook her head, before readjusting her glasses and returned her focus back towards the armored figure. "I apologize for her behavior. A prominent member of her peerage was situated in the missing bus."
The figure nodded at the devil's remark, and waved their hands to assure the young devil that they were not offended. "Tis fine." The figure said. "Were a member of this one's family to be taken away, then this one too, will be as enraged as the red one."
And they truly would, should anyone were to threaten the family of the armored figure, then they would be overcome with emotions as well. Though perhaps not as much as their lord would be.
"If I may ask, Ayame-san." The black haired glasses wearing devil started, wincing as she heard loud shouts coming from the red haired devil who was with her peerage members.
"Go ahead, ask away." The armored figure allowed.
"Why did you say that Mount Ooe would be the safest place for them to go to?" The black haired devil asked pertaining to the facade of calmness, though from the tone of her voice, the armored figure could tell that she was quite troubled by the information that they had given.
"Why had I said that you asked?" The armored figure said as they held a hand under their chin. "It is because this one had originated from said mountain, and this one's lord is the guardian of the great Mountain of Ooe."
Saying so the armored figure nodded their head. "Humu, certainly those humans would be under this one's lord's protection already. She is one who is aware of all that happens through the mountain after all."
"The ruler of Mount Ooe?" One of the black haired devil's peerage members whispered, looking confused.
"Indeed!" The armored figure declared suddenly, making the devils in the vicinity jump ever so slightly at their sudden loud declaration. "This one's lord and master is indeed the one and only ruler of the great Mountain of Ooe, the great onigoroshi Yoake!"
She's getting married and she hates it.
Hello there, ever present omniscient third party, Yoake here.
And currently she's planning to perform the ancient and secret hidden technique that she had learnt from watching muscular men figthing again't gay vampires with their super punching ghost with time stopping abilities.
That is, running away.
With that being said, she in all her one year old and a month old wisdom, plus her old lady wisdom that she had before hand thanks to reincarnation and all that shenanigans, she decided to say 'fuck that shit' and decided to run away from home.
Truly, she was a genius among geniuses.
But seriously, who wouldn't want to run away when you're a one year old child who never met their dad, and the first thing that he said in their very first meeting is, and she quotes this directly from the man himself, "you shall be wed to our allies, behave yourself."
Yeah, totally not dad of the year material. Who marries off their one year old daughter anyway!? Are their allies lolicons!? Are they all lolicons out there!? What about the age of consent!?
But of course she waited for a bit to prepare for her set up of actually running away first. Getting enough supplies and things that she thought she would need to live by herself and run away from a group of onis.
So anyway, that's why she's out here in the forest, in the middle of the night, heaving a sack of her valuables, which were mostly the things that she had stolen from the pantry and some of her clothes.
Oh! She also had a good old hand axe and a knife at her hip that she had pilfered from the barracks, a better choice than a sword in her mind since she could also use the weapon to cut firewood if she ever needed it.
Which she could easily use because she now had magic! Fire Magic in fact! And although it was only at LV1, she could still use it to set things on fire enough to cook things! Probably!
Don't look at her like that, she's a millennial that doesn't know how to cook okay! At least she was sure that cooking the meat was better than eating it raw! That and she knows the kinds of cooked steaks too! Like medium rare and well done!
She doesn't know what those stand for, but she sure knows that the cooked steak is delicious no matter what kind the chef cooks it!
But then again, those are professional chefs who cooks in actual restaurants, and her only cooking knowledge is boiling water, heating take out with the microwave, and ordering food with uber.
She's not a master chef alright, but at least she knows how to actually skin some animals like the rabbit at her hand. Truly watching random midnight tv channels and reading random wiki articles truly helps.
But she actually knows how to skin animals alright! That and how to gut them and clean their intestines like what she did when she was near the river!
Though she wasn't near the river anymore, if anything she was as far away as possible after filling her water skin with water. After all, she read from novels and mangas that being near the river is incredibly important, what with being a source of water and all, and that searching around them will definitely lead you to find the person who was running away.
Which was why she was contemplating whether or not to also get water magic, though seeing the cost of getting the skill, it was way more than the amount that she spent to get the fFre Magic.
She readied her knife and diced the rabbit meat into small bite pieces that would suit her more, and stabbed the diced pieces of meat into a stick to make a skewer of rabbit meat. Or rather skewers of rabbit meat, since she has a bunch of other cleaned rabbits lining up ready to be cooked.
Then she turned towards the other pile of sticks that she had on the ground, and with a short chuuni chant a small ball of fire appeared on the palm of her free hand, and she shot the ball of fire to make a small campfire.
She then held the skewer of rabbit meat over the fire, anxiously waiting for it to cook while constantly using her Appraisal to check whether or not the meat had been cooked or not.
The moment that her Appraisal had declared that the meat was 'Cooked' she pulled the skewer of rabbit meat from above the fire. She marveled at her work, an actual piece of food that she herself had cooked, her first ever cooking experience in this world.
She gulped and then took a bite of the cooked skewer, and couldn't help but shine at the feeling of her own cooking. Perhaps this was what the saying, food tastes better when you cook them actually means?
Maybe she should do this more often, she could probably get the Cooking skill and eat some actually good fricking food. Which probably should use herbs and spices, because although the rabbit meat that she had cooked was quite good, it was a bit tasteless if she was being honest.
Ah! She could have used her Appraisal and checked if the many plants and nuts that she had passed could be used as cooking ingredients! Or at least make some trail mix or something like that, something to note when she continues her travels.
It was at times like these that her kleptomania appeared out of nowhere, probably also why she had a ladle and a pan on her sack of valuables, both items that she had stolen on her way out from the pantry.
And it was also at times like these that she wished she had the gamer usual trope of an inventory or a storage or something like that. Though apparently she could actually get something like that if she has something like Space Magic at her list of skills.
Not like she can actually get them anytime soon though, since getting an inventory-like magic would need the skill to get into a pretty high Level, probably, and also the skill costs a hundred thousand points, you know, a number with five zeros.
Not something that she could get at the moment, what with her wasting her recent points to getting Fire Magic.
Oh! Speaking of which, this Yoake has reached LV 3! An occurrence that has happened as she continued to hunt a bunch of rabbits by throwing rocks, that and the occasional weird colored lizard.
Let it be known that one of the reasons as to why the forest was eerily quiet was because she had killed a village worth of wild rabbits and lizards. Who surprisingly gave her enough experience points to simply level up once.
And let it also be known that the rabbit did not go down without a fight. She almost lost her head whenever one of them got close to her head. And the dang thing dealt 5 points damage for each attack! 5 points of damage! And she only has a meastly 14 HP!
That's more than one third of her HP! And it was a rabbit! An honest to god rabbit! A magical rabbit, but rabbit nonetheless.
So that's why she went for the long range route and threw rocks at them like a true caveman.
Monstrous Strength LV3 was scary, she realized. Though she probably should have realized that when she managed to actually punch a boulder and crush it with a single punch when the skill was LV1.
Her heart almost jumped out of her chest when the small stone that she threw not only shattered on impact, but also exploded the head of the rabbit that it hit.
Sorry mister rabbit, your sacrifice will not be in vain. You did fill her belly after all so your sacrifice certainly wasn't in vain.
Which also increased her ability to throw rocks! Or rather her Throw skill to be exact, reaching LV 2 thanks to her hunting a few rabbits that she had for lunch and dinner, who knew that a skill that she got from being bored could actually help her get food?
Neat.
Welp, she might as well go to sleep. She got her belly full eating bunches of lizards and rabbits, keeping their skin and inedible parts of course because of her kleptomania for keeping useless items, and it was dark out.
And also she can't hear those loud onus shouting her name anymore, or their 'silent' approach of trying to sneak while attempting to find her, which means that the onus either had given up or are way more sneakier than she thought they were.
Well, whatever, if there's a problem then future Yoake will just have to deal with it, present Yoake will just have a nice nap with a full belly with her pile of clothes as a pillow.
Hello, good morning, Yoake here.
She's currently upside down tied tightly by something. Well, not really tightly mind you, because whatever was constraining her was extremely comfy, like a grade A blanket or something.
Truly, past Yoake had left her with a problem.
Humu? The feeling was kind of strange? Like, rope wasn't supposed to be stringy right? And they certainly weren't supposed to be sticky. And why would someone want to tie her upside down anyway?
Well, maybe it was her blood running into her head making her dumber than usual, but girls aren't supposed to have the lower body of spiders right? And she's even doing the usual spider thing of crawling in the ceiling!
No wait, she's just walking on the ground like normal, she's just upside down, forgot about that.
Where was she anyway? The last thing that she remembers was sleeping inside a cave in the middle of a forest that was supposed to be the home of onis, so is the girl in front of her another monster that also lives in this forest?
So she asked just that, there's no point in not being amicable to a person that ties you up upside down and is probably going to be eating you anyway. In no way was she doing this because the spider lady was cute, nope, no reason at all.
The beautiful lady instead laughed at her, having an incredibly beautiful smile on her face as she did so. She then did something that she had hoped she would accomplish one day in this life of her's, doing a villainous monologue.
Her monologue sucks though, more like the monologue of a B-rated side villain that manages to capture the heroes and thinking that they have already won and all that.
She explained the reasons why most oni doesn't come near this part of the forest was because of her, a tsuchigumo who was strong enough to rival a full group of trained oni, mostly because her cave was filled with traps using her incredibly sticky webbing.
Well of course they would get caught in the traps, they have single digit intelligence. Even a whole group of finely trained oni would still be stupid, the terms 'apes together strong' only works for the most mundane tasks or things that doesn't require thinking after all.
She did use her Appraisal on the beautiful spider lady to see how strong she was, and she was surprised to find out that her stats were actually all in the double digits, and some of them were nearing twenties!
That's way more than her measly single digits stats!
It did lead her to find out that she was a tsuchigumo, though she looked more like an arachne if you asked her. What with having the upper half of a lady and all.
Not that it's wrong or anything! She's glad that she could at least look at a beautiful lady wearing an equally beautiful kimono! And one that has a lower body of a giant spider at that! Even if it was unnerving at first, her weird mind that has been tarnished with reading weird doujin couldn't help but feel excited!
Truly, this magical world was strange yet exciting!
But then her excitement died when the beautiful lady disappeared completely as she was submerged into the giant spider-tiger yokai and opened its large maw to actually eat her. Yikes, and she thought that she would be a more amicable host and at least serve appetizers first.
Welp, escape time then, good thing that Parallel Will number 1 is the one taking all the mental damage and is panicking and screaming like hell, while Parallel Will number 2 was busy preparing her measly magic.
Which is Fire Magic, something that is extremely useful against spider thread. Magical or not. And she checked with Appraisal, so she knew that it would work, Good job her 7 LUK stat!
The tsuchigumo screamed loudly when the thread that kept her held was burning, and by proxy also the rest of the yokai's cave and home since the place was basically made of the thing.
She spent a good amount of her MP for doing so, not draining herself of all of her MP pool mind you, since she kept 1 point. Because as she found out, running out of mana makes you pass out, and that wasn't a good time she assures you.
She wasn't able to spy where her axe and knife was, so she's just going to perform the most monkey act that she could actually do. Which was winding up her fist and performing an actually correct punch.
The punch hits, and thanks to her Monstrous Strength LV4 which leveled up since she got to LV 3, she managed to punch the tsuchigumo into the wall of the cave hard enough that the wall cracked the moment the tiger-spider yokai hit it.
And to note, she did not receive any damage from doing so, because apparently her receiving that damage was because she doesn't actually punch correctly. She watched a bunch of the soldiers actually train, and also a bunch of onis brawling in the street and see how they actually punch and kick.
Apparently you were not supposed to put your thumb when you ball your fist, because doing that would actually hurt your hand when you, well, punch. Or maybe that was because her Study was now LV7.
Whatever it is, I curse you, redditors! Your random knowledge was incorrect and I would never trust you ever again! That and I definitely won't trust your random wisdom of underground lizard people and flat earth theories!
Wait, is the lizard people theory actually real in this world though? Since races like oni and tsuchigumo exist, then that certainly means that the Japanese folklore are real to some extent, which means that Yamata-no-Orochi existed.
Which means that sentient giant lizards exist, so what's preventing sentient lizard people from existing! Wait, hold up, the tsuchigumo is rising up, leave that conspiracy theory to Parallel Will number 3 and focus on the fight again.
She leapt towards the yokai before the tsuchigumo could completely recover. But she was swatted away by one of the yokai's many legs. And just like the yokai before her, she hit the cave's wall, and made cracks on it as she does.
-3HP
Ouch. Ouch! That actually hurts! And her Sturdy LV7 was supposed to reduce the damage by quite a good amount too! The tsuchigumo was apparently quite strong!
Ah her HP is already healing, as expected of HP Auto-Recovery LV3, it heals like points of HP at a time so she'll be good for this fight probably. Thanks for taking all the mental damage Parallel Will number 1!
She should probably get her some therapy or something some time soon, or maybe switch her job with Parallel Will number 2 or 3 so that she doesn't go crazy any time soon.
The tsuchigumo pounced, letting out a guttural screech as it did so, and she jumped from the wall to avoid the yokai's attack. Only to accidentally jump into a wall of fire that had accidentally spread because of her initial use of her Fire Magic.

HOT! HOT! HOT! HOOOOT! Stop, drop and roll, stop, drop and roll! What kind of idiot uses Fire Magic on an enclosed space that's flammable!? She could also start suffocating in this cave too!? What kind of idiot does that!?
Huh? What are you saying? I ordered you to do it? You should know better than not to set an enclosed space on fire! Especially a place that's extremely flammable like a cave of spider threads!
Ah, even the tsuchigumo's trying to escape from the flaming cave. She might do it now too since the whole cave was on fricking fire. She bolted with her max power, dashing through the fire with her Monstrous Strength focused on her legs.
Suffice to say, she ping ponged from wall to wall straight out of the cave. Exiting the cave even faster than the tsuchigumo. Seeing that though, she turned her body mid air to face the yokai, and prepared another simple blast of Fire Magic.
Who knew that Athletics and Aerial Maneuvering would help her do things like that? Both skills that she got from getting bored and moving by jumping from tree to tree.
She shot a ball of fire the moment the tsuchigumo let out its head, only for it to attempt to counter her attack with a ball of thread, separated from her mouth so that the yokai itself won't catch on fire, shot from the yokai's mouth.
And apparently the propelling force of the ball of tsuchigumo thread was stronger than her fireball, and now she had a flaming ball of thread going her way.
She doesn't want to punch it, since it's sticky tsuchigumo thread that would stick on her arms and set her on fire. But she was in the air and couldn't do anything so she did the best thing she and her Parallel Will's thought of.
Taking off her yukata, and swung it towards the sticky thread that was on fire, an act that caught said yukata on fire, but thankfully it wasn't fast enough to spread to her own body.
She retaliated fire, throwing the yukata towards her monstrous foe in retaliation. The yokai did the same thing again, shooting a ball of thread to nullify her attack, and perform the same counter, but at that point she was already on the ground.
And she shot off.
She's no good at aerial combat after all, so might as well make the battle turn into a slug fest. She slammed right into the tsuchigumo fast enough that it couldn't react, and she returned to the way her ancestors fought.
Punching willy nilly, targeting squishy vitals like eyes.
And punching.
The occasional kick and block, but mostly punching her enemy with her full power punch that was stronger than a punch that can shatter a boulder. So she punched the yokai, firstly focusing on the squishy eyes first.
The yokai gave a good fight of course she had to break and pull off all of its spidery limbs to actually stop it from killing her. Thank goodness that her recent Level Up, gets her HP Auto-Recovery to LV3 and Sturdy to LV7 or she might not have lived to tell the tale.
She would have been punctured by the tsuchigumo's legs since those were really sharp. She had to put some of her skill points to her VIT to increase her HP bar so that she wouldn't be killed by the dang thing.
Her hand almost got eaten when she punched the yokai's fangs, the thing wrapped her arm in its thread while it was in the yokai's mouth strong enough that she couldn't pull it out, she eventually pulled the hand out burned since she had to shot a fireball at point blank range to free herself.
In other news she got Fire Resistance, neat.
The scream that the tsuchigumo let out was messed up, probably because the yokai's mouth was burned just as her hand was. Didn't stop her from punching the yokai's head with it though.
And though the monster has a VIT of 19 and STR of 18, the yokai still eventually fell after she broke the yokai's legs and ripped some of them from the body.
Individual Yoake, Oni has increased from LV 3 to LV 7.
Hey~ it's a level up declaration! And four whole levels at that! That's kind of nice, the tsuchigumo was a tough nut to crack. What with its stats basically double of hers.
Skill proficiency level-up bonus acquired.
Proficiency has reached the required level. Skill [Sturdy LV7] has become [Sturdy LV10].
Proficiency has reached the required level. Skill [Monstrous Strength LV4] has become [Monstrous Strength LV7].
Proficiency has reached the required level. Skill [HP Auto-Recovery LV3] has become [HP Auto-Recovery LV7].
Skill points acquired.
Ah~ she's beat! She lost her yukata and probably all her rations and other stuff in the cave that's on fire too. Thankfully the fire isn't spreading to the forest though, so that's a relief. Crap, and she's hungry again, she hasn't had breakfast now that she thinks about it since the first thing that she woke up to was being tied up by a yokai.
She was lucky now that she thinks about it. She was trapped in the yokai's home turf, a home turf that was filled with traps that managed to capture and beat a group of oni. And she might have downplayed their intelligence and all, but those bunches were still physically strong.
She had Fire Magic that basically nullified the traps that the tsuchigumo had set up, a coincidence really, and that was also the first time that she actually used the magic for an attack too!
Not to mention that her Monstrous Strength basically made her 11 points STR higher than the tsuchigumo's 18, and her Sturdy made her take less damage to conserve her 14, now 16, points of HP, not to mention her HP Auto-Recovery LV3.
That thing was a whole ten levels higher than her, and through pure coincidence and luck of picking skills, she managed to actually win.
She took a glance at the fallen yokai beneath her, wondering if she should eat the creature now that she had killed it. She should probably feel bad at killing it now that she thinks about it, but then again, it did try to kill her and she went full on impulse even with three other Parallel Will helping her.
She really should feel bad but… feeling bad at killing things that tried to kill her really went out the window when a rabbit jumped up towards her and almost kicked her head off of her shoulder, so she doesn't really feel bad from killing if she was attacked first.
Well, she's hungry, and she has an interesting specimen to eat beneath her, might as well start and cook.
She raised her Poison Resistance. She should have known that the yokai would be poisonous.
Hey there loyal listeners~ Yoake here~
Thankfully she's good enough to normally walk, thank goodness for HP Auto-Recovery for recovering her HP faster than her losing HP from food poisoning, and she continued her journey to get as far as possible from the oni village.
She's clothed of course. Wearing her new tsuchigumo coat strapped with the yokai's thread that she manages to salvage. Carrying with her the axe and knife that managed to survive the flaming cavern, though only their metal head and blades since their wooden handle burned off.
She could probably rip off a branch or two from the trees around her to get a temporary grip for her two items and wrap them in tsuchigumo string temporarily until she gets new ones.
She also got some provisions at least, the tsuchigumo is quite big after all, and would probably serve until today's dinner. Since when was she a glutton anyway?
But then again, the meat was kind of weird to actually eat. It has the taste of a crab but also a gamey kind of feel like the ones that wild animals have. The yokai was a carnivore after all so that part makes sense.
Or does it? Normal logic doesn't really work on magical creatures now that she thinks about it.
She glanced back at the cave that she had slept in and woke up in, she probably shouldn't sleep in a cave without doing a full recon of the place first. So the whole debacle probably was her fault in the first place.
But she did get stronger through the event, leveling up and all, and her clothing was new, and she even lived to tell the tale of punching a tsuchigumo to death. That and burning a giant spider yokai's cave.
Bet nobody else does that when they're one year old.
But for now her journey continues! Onwards towards the unknown!
Or at least towards somewhere out of this forest where she can actually find a good civilization!
