Several Months Ago…
"I've sent out the invitations for tomorrow's party." Duckworth said. "Do you require anything else currently Mr. McDuck?"
"Not at tha moment. Thank you Duckworth." Scrooge responded while continuing to walk down the hall.
"Hello lads! How are you this fine morning?"
"Hey Uncle Scrooge. We're doing fine. Dewey and I are about to rewatch the entirety of Ottoman Empire." Louie responded with a smile on his face, but inside he was a little nervous that Scrooge would start to care more about Webby and her sisters and leave them behind.
"Are you sure you're alright?" Scrooge asked. If you live for 154 years, you learn to read people and Louie seemed a bit off.
"To be honest Uncle Scrooge, I just don't want you to forget about us now that you have your own kids." Louie responded.
"Lad, just because Webby and her sisters are my daughters, doesn't mean I'll forget about the rest of you. You're my family just like them." Scrooge said.
"Thanks Uncle Scrooge." Louie said and left to go watch his show.
The next day…
Everyone is at McDuck Manor celebrating the defeat of FOWL. Gyro is chatting with Fenton and Gandra who now that she's free can go back to working on the Gizmo Cloud.
"Mr. McDuck has allowed me to hire a new scientist to focus on more modern tech now that Beaks has failed to make anything worth using in more than a year.
"So, I figured that with Fenton's recent promotion, we could hire you, and the two of you would lead that department. While I continue to work on my genius inventions, furthering the McDuck enterprises research and development lab." Gyro said. Gandra and Fenton agreed.
Elsewhere Louie was talking with Huey and Professor Von Drake.
"If you'll excuse me, I need to go get some more of this AMAZING cake." Huey said.
"Not a problem at all, Hubert." Von Drake said as Huey walked away.
"Now down to business Louie." Von Drake said. "We all know that those two clones will continue to cause chaos. We must be careful to not say anything to anyone, and I will help you protect your family." Von Drake continued like this, continuing to get Louie to trust people less and less.
"Alright, I'm in." Louie said.
In the kitchen Beakley is talking with Daisy, Lena, Violet, and Webby about the upcoming trip.
"They may be their own people but they are similar to me." Webby said. "So an important thing to remember is that they will want information on everything. From why something is the color it is, to the complete history behind it.
In the hangar Launchpad is talking with Darkwing, Gosalyn, and Dewey about the next time that he and Dewey can come to St. Canard.
"Mr. McD said that if you ever need us to help I can take the plane and Dewey and I will be right there." Launchpad said.
"Good to know L.P." Darkwing said.
Ok so this chapter I wanted to set up some smaller things but also the major force behind Louie being so insecure in this story. I will explain about Von Drake in later chapters. But for right now it is 1:30 AM so I'm going to sleep.
