A Legend and a Myth

In the morning Loxy ate her breakfast on her own as Sean was already busy. After that she embroidered for a while, but as many things were on her mind, she decided to leave it for later. Instead she started pacing around her room, glancing at the clock from time to time as if hoping to make it hurry up. However, the afternoon was still too far away each time she looked.

The young woman was looking forward it at least for two reasons. One provided at least a tiny hope that her uncle might change his mind about the problem with bandits, while the other promised a time spend with her brother. As Sean was often on duty, there were few chances for Loxy's liking to spend with him.

Loxy sighed and stopped in her pacing, knowing that there must be something better for her to do then walk on the thin rope of her patience. Suddenly an idea came to her mind and she smiled slightly. Walking over to the wardrobe, she pulled out a piece of servants' clothes and wasted no time to change. She had a habit of venturing out to the town disguised as maid from time to time, as it did help her a great deal to clear her mind. Only a few servants and guards knew about this tendency, and while they didn't support it, they let Loxy do as she pleased. Sean has figured it out after some time, and at first was angry with his sister due to worrying that something might happen to her, but in the end the young woman managed to convince him that she was walking through the safe streets and not walking too far from the castle gate.

So, the now dressed-maid slipped out of the room and followed her usual route to the town. Near the gates she collected her grey cloak which she used for the sake of the folk town not being able to recognise her so easily. Thankfully for her, the old saying that clothes make the man (woman in this case) was true, and no one expected to see a roal family member in the town, especially since Loxy was out of the public sight for most of the time.

After reaching outside of the castle walls, Loxy headed to the market. She quite enjoyed the annonymity provided there, and would always buy a couple of things for the kitchen or as little snack. There was also a chance that she might hear some of the recent rumours, and talks of daily-life that were so refreshing from the usual communication in the palace.

As she was walking through the market, she could hear people chatting about the attack on Mountshannon, and how it was protected by the power of god Alseiass - a rumour which did not sit well with Loxy - nevertheless it seemed that the group of so called Outsiders had hands in ruining the bandit's plans. However, some of the people also mentioned an old legend, the Sunrise Warrior, who saved village Craikennis, from another attack. Being a Hibernian, Loxy would clearly be in favour of the second legendary being, however, she understood that much more was in the game here than just mythology.

It seems that this visit did not bring the desired outcome as it only made her more aware how importatnt it is to convince the king to properly investigate the matter. Loxy sighed and was about to return, when she suddenly heard a voice: "He is here! I saw him riding in the town with the shield with sunrise emblem!" She turned around and saw a boy talking to a group of friends. Gathering that they must be talking about the Sunrise Warrior, Loxy approached the group. "Excuse me, but what did you just say?" she asked the boy.

The boy seemed happy to share what he saw, so he quickly boasted: "The Sunrise Warrior is in the town! With one other man, he's riding up to the castle! And his shield is so shiny!" The boy once again turned to his friends, and Loxy was wondering to herself what this was about. Seeing that the group no longer payed any attention to her, she decided to slip and headed to the castle's main gate.

As she was nearing it, she managed to catch a glimpse of a young warrior on a horse entering with another man in mottled green, brown, and grey cloak. Whoever they were, this surely seemed like an interesting twist.

Note: I figured out it would be better to introduce Loxy better as an individual before jumping to the main plot, so here it is.
