"Ben Warren." Richard smiled enthusiastically.

Ben stuck out his hand and shook the older man's hand.

"Dr. Richard Webber." Richard introduced shaking his hand wildly.

"Oh sorry." He stated finally letting go. "What brings you by?"

"I'm looking for Dr. Miranda Bailey." Ben said looking around for her.

"Richard looked at the flowers in his hand and smiled with a glint in his eye. "Oh hold on I will page her for you." Richard declared.

Richard paged Miranda 911 to the pit before walking over to Derek ,Mark , and Jackson.

"Is that Ben Warren from the Saskatchewan Rattlers?" Derek asked shocked.

"Yep." Richard confirmed.

"What is he here for, a procedure, consult, what?" Mark asked quickly.

"He's here for Miranda." Richard stated

"Dr. Bailey." Jackson stated shocked. Watching as different nurses and patients were getting the man's autograph.

"Is that number 24 for the Rattlers." Karev asking rushing over with Owen behind him.

"Yes." Derek said still shocked.

"Why is he here?" Owen asked.

"Doctor Bailey." Mark, Derek, Jackson, and Richard said simultaneously.

"Dr. Bailey is dating a ball player." Alex mused.

Miranda burst through the ER door looking around.

"Webber where's the emergency."

Webber grabbed her while Derek, Mark, Owen Jackson and Alex circled around her.

"You know Ben Warren from the Rattlers?" Richard asked.

"Yeah why do you know that?" Miranda asked confused.

Derek stepped out of view and showed her Ben.

Miranda gasped "what is he doing here?"

"He said he came looking for you." Jackson replied.

"Me?" She shrieked. "I only met him twice."

"Does it matter he's a professional ball player Dr.Bailey. " Alex stated.

"It does matter." Miranda argued.

"Go get us some tickets. Good seats." Derek said pushing her towards Ben.

"Damn yall selling me out for tickets."

"Bailey." Mark whined.

"Alright, Alright. I'll see what I can do?"

"Wait take the white coat off." Mark Said eagerly.

"Uhh." Miranda popped her lips as he helped her out if it.

"You have a nice shape, Go get em."

Miranda rolled her eyes and pulled her scrub top down nervously.

"Dr. Benjamin Warren." Miranda smiled getting his attention.

"Hey Miranda." Ben smiled looking her up and down.

"What are you doing here and how did you know I worked here?" She asked.

"To see you and it wasn't hard to find Dr. Miranda Bailey's rehabilitation clinic."

"Clearly we are not in my clinic." Miranda said raising an eyebrow.

"Just so happened someone pointed me to this ER." Ben chuckled.

Ben handed Miranda the roses he had in his hand and she blushed.

"These are beautiful." She remarked. "But I'm going to need tickets to Friday's game and good seats. Especially since you're embarrassing me at work."

Ben raised his eyebrows.

"People are going to think we are seeing each other and they are to be gossiping about my love life now. I am a professional woman with a stellar reputation." Miranda explained.

Ben pulled out his wallet and looked at her waiting for a number.

"5." Miranda said holding up her fingers.

Ben handed her five tickets and she glanced at the seating and her mouth flew open.

"Box seats/ premium seating." Miranda said shocked.

"That's okay ? Or do you think they want to be on the floor court side?"

"This is perfect." She smiled hesitantly. "Why do you carry tickets." She asked curiously.

"I always buy at least ten myself to treat kids and their parents to a game."

"Oh wow, no keep them. They don't need them." Miranda retracted quickly.

"No it's fine. They are doctors who service patients and help people they deserve free tickets."

Miranda smiled lightly and grabbed his arm.

"Give me two seconds and then we can go somewhere privately and talk.

Ben nodded and watched her walk away. He turned his head after a moment because her friends were looking at him and it was inappropriate to stare at her back side.

"Did you get them?" Richard asked as she approached.

" yes." Miranda nodded.

"Why do you look sad then?"

"The seating." She pouted.

"Where is it at ?"

"Is box seats okay?" Miranda countered and laughed watching their shocked faces.

"Oh my God Bailey." Mark and the guys shouted.

"Here you go." She laughed handing them the tickets.

" Thank you." Derek cheered kissing her cheeks and Mark handed her white coat back.

"Yeah , but not so fast. Someone will be doing my post op notes for the rest of the week you all can take turns if need be and I want lunch too." Miranda negotiated.

"What ever you want." They said. Satisfied she walked away pulling Ben with her.

"Hey so you came to see me ?" Miranda questioned.

" yeah I uh... came to ask would you go on a date with me?" Ben asked nervously.

Miranda's face contorted and eyes widened shocked at him and his date offer.

She swallowed hard before answering. "I'm sorry. I'm not looking to date right now. I just recently got divorced. I'm not ready yet. I am a single mother who needs to put more time into my son." She professed.

Ben looked down at her sad doey eyes and inwardly sighed. She was an amazing woman. He didn't want to pressure her so he reluctantly let her go.

"Okay um maybe I'll see you around then?" Ben said hopeful.

"I work at a number 1 trauma center and a rehabilitation clinic that wouldn't be a good thing if I saw you." Miranda responded cocking her head to the side.

Ben laughed at her statement. "Take care of yourself Dr. Miranda Bailey."

"You too Dr. Benjamin Warren."

Miranda walked into her house and sat Tuck on his feet. She let him sit on the mat in the living room before she started cooking dinner.

"Hey girl." Crystal said out of breath coming in the house.

"Hey why are you out of breath?"

"Because I ran in. Its getting ready to pour." She breathed heavily.

Miranda nodded cutting up sausages.

"Did you hear that Ben Warren was at the hospital today?"

"I didn't?" Miranda lied.

"Yeah. Do you think he was looking for me?"

Miranda narrowed her eyes and turned back to the stove. The man wasn't looking for her by a longshot.

"How would he know where you work?"

"He's rich and famous. He can find anyone and plus he knows my name."

"Maybe he was looking for you?" Miranda stated nonchalantly.

3 months later.

Ben went to one of the guys party and honestly he was ready to go. Staying out late, partying, and drinking wasn't his scene.

He walked over to the bar and ordered a jack and coke.

Crystal looked to the right of her as a man sat down beside her. Shocked she stared.

"Ben Warren." She stammered almost spitting out her drink.

Ben smiled and wave. "It's Dr. Ben Warren." Every since Miranda's speech. He started going by his title in the media and in general.

"Right sorry." Crystal replied.

"You're fine." He smiled.

"Do you remember me?"

Ben looked her over thinking. She looked familiar but he couldn't place it. He didn't know her though.

"No." He responded shaking his head.

"I met you at your 33rd birthday party." She smiled softly.

"I'm sorry I really don't remember." Ben replied thinking. "It was so many people in and out that night."

"It's okay."

Ben could tell that the woman was genuinely hurt, but he honestly didn't remember. He met hundreds of women a day especially on weekends.

"Well why don't I take you out to lunch to get to know you, to make it up to you." Ben suggested.

Crystal's eyes widened she wanted to do a happy dance, but she kept it cool and smiled.

"I would like that Dr. Warren."

Ben talked to Crystal majority of the night and found that she worked as a general physician at a hospital. He didn't understand why he kept meeting doctors.

She also told him that she was currently in school because she wanted to do something different so she was pursuing a degree in business. He had a good time and a good conversation with her. She was pretty and had a pretty smile.

"Miranda." Crystal shouted barging in her room.

Miranda sat up quickly. Her hand patted for her bedside light.

"Hey what's wrong? What's the matter?" She asked frantically her heart racing.

Crystal flew on to her bed. "I met him the man of my dreams."

"Really Crys it's 1 in the morning I thought it was an emergency." Miranda said turning to cut the light off.

"It is an emergency. Ben asked me to lunch tomorrow."

Miranda ears perked up she hasn't really thought about him, except a few times where she saw his name in magazines and news articles.

"Where did you see him?" She questioned.

"He sat beside me at the bar downtown. Someone was having a birthday party. Can you believe that he did not remember me." Crystal pouted.

Miranda was shocked to say the least. Most men remembered her cousin.

"Can I borrow some of your book?"

"Yeah sure which ones?"

"Your text book on internal medicine, medical diagnostic and treatment, and human anatomy."

"Since when do you want to read my medical books?" Miranda laughed.

"Miranda I'm a M.A I just want to learn more." Crystal said unconvincingly.

"What did you do?" Miranda asked crossing her arms.

"I kind of told Ben I was a doctor." Crystal mumbled.

Miranda eyes widened.

"What is wrong with you? Why would you lie to him?" She exclaimed.

"Because he is one and established and I didn't want to seem like I'm not.

"But you are not. You don't even have your own place." Miranda jabbed staring at her sternly.

"I know that. You don't have to state the obvious Mandy."

"A relationship built on lies is dark and fragile that collapses at the sight of light which is the truth. Tell him the truth."

"I will tomorrow." She huffed.

Miranda honestly felt bad for Ben. Woman probably always took advantage of him because of his status and money. She wondered how often he encountered this.

"Good. Now I need to sleep. I have an early surgery.
