III - A Life As a Slave Age: 6-8
1 month later
I woke up on a beach and sat up quickly. I felt no pain. I looked down. Most of my scars were healed, and all my bruises were gone. I reached up to my face. Some scars remained though. Some were old enough that they would never heal. I traced each scar separately. The one on my stomach, The line from my ribs to my spine, a few of the whip marks on my back the mark of Sparta. Finally I traced the scar on my face. This scar was given by a cursed blade so it would never be healed.
Flashback
"Hey Boy… do you know what this is?" Desmos asked me with a smirk.
I had been here for who knows how long, 2 months? I looked up slowly, I felt excruciating pain on my back. I had just been given 30 lashes and my back and neck were paying the price. In his hand I saw a dagger. My vision was blurry but I could make out a reddish Aura.
"No." I spat and looked back down.
Desmos grabbed my chin and forcefully lifted my head again "This boy is called a cursed blade, it was given to me by Ares himself. Do you want to know what it does?"
"No," I said annoyed. I tried to look down again but Desmos gripped my chin harder.
"It sets your nerves on fire, and the mark left behind is there forever." He grinned evilly. He forced my head to the side and placed the tip at my temple. "Let's see if it works." he dragged the blade down my face. I hissed loudly and closed my eyes. The pain wasn't like he said. It was worse.
End Flashback
I grimaced at the memory. Then looked at my body again. How had I healed? Why didn't I drown? A pair of eyes flashed in my mind. They were sea green and filled with joy. Mom? Mom was a child of Poseidon. That's why I can breathe in water and the water heals me. I'm a legacy of Poseidon!
I looked around suddenly, close by I could hear a patrol of guards approaching from the west. I searched for a hiding spot but found none. So I chose to wait for them. They were idiots if they hadn't already seen me. I was in the middle of the beach with nowhere to go.
As they reached me one of them grabbed me by the shirt roughly "you're not allowed on this beach kid"
"Yeah kid, the king could kill you for it." another one said.
"Speaking of the king we should bring him there," the final one said.
They went to grab him. "It's all good I'll come willingly." Perseus said quickly
They started walking on a path toward the Palace. When they got to a main square Perseus noticed a giant statue. As he glanced at it he realized where he was.
"We're on Crete aren't we," he said.
"Yep," one said.
"Sure are," another one said.
"Sounds about right," the final one answered.
I looked at them weirdly "You guys are brother's aren't you."
"YES we're triplets," they answered as one. I rolled my eyes.
A couple minutes later we reached the Palace and I was brought into a golden throne room. So much gold it was horrifying and ugly. I turned to look at the man on the throne. He was a tall imposing figure with a brown beard and hair with electric blue eyes. In his beard he had a golden circlet wrapping around near the bottom of the beard. Next to him was the beautiful Pasiphaë who wore an elegant sleeveless dress of woven gold, with her dark hair piled into a cone encircled with diamonds and emeralds. I turned back to the king. "Greetings King Minos, my name is Perseus..."
"Yes, yes now why are you here." Minos interrupted me impatiently.
"You see I woke up on your Private beach sir after spending…"
"My private beach! No one is aloud there, I should have you killed."
"But sir!" I protested.
"No! Guards execute…" he was stopped by his wife whispering in his ear. "I have changed my mind! You are a boy with many years left to live so in return for not killing you, you shall become the royal palace's personal servant."
Well shit.
Stories as a Servant
The First Months
The first thing that happened when I became a servant of the royal family was I was introduced to everyone. First I met the sons Catreus, Androgeus, Deucalion, and Glaucus who were all older than I was, Glaucus being 3 years older than I was. Next I met the daughters Acalle, , Xenodice, Ariadne and Phaedra. Acalle was the oldest of the girls and the second child of Minos. With Catreus being the oldest, 2nd being Acalle, then Androgeus, then Deucalion, then Xenodice, Glaucus is next and then Adriana who was a year older then I was. Finally there was Phaedra. Sweet little Phaedra who was kind and always joyful.
I was Introduced to Daedalus and Icarus next. Daedalus was a demigod son of Athena, which meant that Iccarus was a legacy like me. Well not really like me he didn't have a godly parent himself. I was told I was to room with Iccarus when I met them. Now something to know about Icarus. He is 12 year old with greyish blue eyes, from afar he looks just like a regular 12 year old but once you get to know him… well let's just say he is a bit insane.
That kid is a daredevil. I mean there was this one time I saw him jump off the top of the highest tree he could find near the beach to see if he would land in the water or not. His catchphrase is "you'll never know unless you experiment." But his experiments have almost got him killed several times. Also no matter what he is doing if he thinks of a question he wants to solve he will just rush off.
In my time in servitude I was forced to clean the stables, serve the food from the chef, move anything they wanted me to and even a few times was forced to be a human foot rest.
The Minotaur
Poseidon sent a white bull to King Minos about a month before my 7th birthday. Poseidon wanted Minos to sacrifice the Bull to him. I knew this because I brought it to him. I was on the beach when a wave crashed onto the shore and suddenly a beautiful Bull was in its place. Now I found all this a bit confusing as Poseidon clearly wanted the Bull sacrificed to him but he had the Bull in the first place so… Full circle?
When I brought the Bull to his 'kingliness' and told him what I saw he immediately dismissed me with a hand. As I walked away I realized what Poseidon(who I just remembered is my grandfather) was doing.
Minos is a greedy son of Zeus. The big 3 are well known to not like each other's children, so Greedy + Zeus son + Beautiful white Bull + Minos's sheer stupidity = A way to punish a son of Zeus for a reason that even the mighty Zeus can't refute.
Well I was right. The waves and storms were giant around Crete for weeks. It was not fun to be a servant at that time. Always rushing around in the storms. I was almost hit by lightning once. (One good thing from the storms is that I learned I could only be wet if I wanted to be.) Tensions were rising in the palace as well. The royal family was angry at being stuck inside. Many of the family wanted Minos to just sacrifice the Bull no matter how beautiful it was.
But one day the storms stopped. Most thought it was over but I knew better. Gods are the best at holding grudges. I found out what the new punishment was a day later. I had followed the queen as she went to check on the Bull. But then something happened. It was like her eyes glazed over. She started walking again over to the Bull. When she reached him she started petting him and began whispering in his ear.
Ex: You're so handsome and strong, you're beautiful and soft, you make me so wet.
Well that's what had happened. Pasiphaë fell in love with a cow. I figured that Poseidon had asked some love deity or something for this to happen. Aphrodite?
Well you all no the rest. Pasiphaë had Daedalus build her a female cow. I helped by the way. Then she had me wheel it down to the Pasture, she got into it, the cow fucked her.
God's are messed up.
The labyrinth
9 months later I watched Pasiphaë give birth to a Bull-Human Hybrid. It had the head of a bull and the body of a muscular human. I thought the thing was overall creepy but oddly the creepiest part to me was that the baby was born with weird amounts of muscle.
Minos was horrified and shocked by the child. I wasn't shocked at all by it, honestly, weirder things have happened. Pasiphaë and Minos had fought for days over the child. But Pasiphaë had one and was allowed to keep him.
At first, the baby Bull-Human thing was… cute? Sweet? But it grew rapidly and became more ferocious and mean. Soon it was a raging monster. Pasiphaë reluctantly told Minos that he should visit the Oracle of Delphi. So he did and I went with him.
When we reached the Oracle's cave in Delphi I was surprised by who the Oracle was. I had expected the Oracle to be a wrinkly old woman but boy was I off. The Oracle was a girl, maybe 15 years old. She had tanned skin and a slender, athletic body with long, curly brown hair and soft blue eyes flecked with bits of gold.
The Oracle told Minos to build the labyrinth, we went back to Crete, Minos told Daedulus what's up, Daedalus and Icarus started on the Labyrinth.
A.N: That was a longer chapter, I have one more chapter after this to release today. Again if you guys have any ideas let me know.
