Luz and Amity were walking back towards the Owl House, the latter feeling livid about what had transpired at Hexside.
"Those bastards", Amity said, "just wait until I get my hands on them."
"Are you thinking about Alador and Odalia", Luz asked.
"Yes", Amity said, "I can't believe they'd do something like blackmail Willow and Gus into getting themselves expelled."
"Yeah, that's pretty low", Luz said, "but are you really that surprised?"
"I guess not", Amity said, "but those two need to pay for what they've done."
"And they will", Luz said, "just be patient."
"It's hard to be patient for something that's been a long time coming", Amity said.
The couple arrived at the Owl House, and were surprised to find Lilith sitting on the couch when they entered.
"Lilith", Luz asked.
"Oh, hello, Luz", Lilith said, "and you too, Amity."
"What are you doing here", Amity asked, "I thought you were staying with your parents."
"I was", Lilith said, "but I thought I'd take a break and come by to see how you all have been doing."
"It's nice to see you", Luz said, "and I guess we've been doing okay."
"Wonderful", Lilith said.
Eda then walked into the room.
"Hey, everyone", Eda said.
"Hey, Mom", Amity said.
Eda took notice of Amity's modified Hexside uniform.
"What's with the new colors, Mittens", Eda asked, "you and Luz trying to wear matching outfits?"
"Kind of", Amity said, "I decided that I want to study every track at Hexside."
"You did", Eda said, "that's so awesome!"
"Thanks", Amity said, "unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to after what happened today."
"What happened", Eda asked.
Luz and Amity told Eda and Lilith about how Boscha had ratted them out to Odalia and Alador and that they had almost been taken away to Belos, but Willow and Gus saved them by letting themselves get expelled.
"I'm just glad you two are okay", Eda said.
"Yeah, but what about Willow and Gus", Luz asked, "they've been expelled from Hexside."
"It's all because of those Blights", Amity said, "if I ever run into them again, I'll..."
"Amity, calm down", Eda said, "I know you're mad, but you need to calm down."
"Calm down", Amity asked, "how can I calm down when those two demons in witch's clothing are still roaming the Boiling Isles?"
"Remember when you tried to kill those two after you learned I was your mom", Eda asked.
"I remember", Amity said, "you jumped in the way of a lighting spell for me and I thought you died."
"I didn't, thanks to the witch's wool dress I was wearing under my dress", Eda said, "but you could've been hit by it, and you would've died because you were blindly rushing towards those two with only revenge on your mind."
Amity could tell what her mother was trying to say.
"If you rush into a situation like that thinking only about revenge, you're putting yourself and other people who are close to you in danger", Eda said, "please Amity, just calm yourself, and we can come up with something together."
"Okay, Mom", Eda said, "I will."
At that moment, the residents of the Owl House heard someone knock on the door, and Hooty opened himself up.
"Hoot, hoot", Hooty said, "we have visitors!"
Edric and Emira, who were both wearing fedoras, sunglasses, trench coats, and bandanas over their mouths, walked into the house.
"Edric, Emira", Amity asked, "is that you?"
"That's right, Mittens", Emira said, "it's us."
"What are you two doing here", Luz asked.
"There's something we have to tell you", Edric said, "Mom and Dad are doing something tonight that they say will ensure your capture."
"What are they doing", Eda asked.
"Well, as most of you may know, aside from being high-ranking members of the Emperor's Coven, Mom and Dad also run a company called Blight Industries", Emira said.
"What do they make there", Luz asked.
"Abomination-based products", Edric said, "mostly home security stuff, but they specialize in weapons."
"I'm very familiar with Odalia and Alador's work", Amity said, "not just because I was raised by them, but because they made me show off all their products at presentations."
"That doesn't sound like it was very fun", Luz said.
"It wasn't", Amity said, "but how is this related to capturing Luz?"
"They've been manufacturing all kinds of new weapons designed for the purpose of capturing Luz and the rest of you", Emira said.
"And they're holding an auction at Blight Industries tonight", Edric said.
"Uh oh", Luz said, "this is bad."
"Knowing Odalia and Alador, they've probably put a lot of work into guaranteeing that those weapons fulfill their desired purpose", Lilith said.
"What are we going to do", Amity asked.
"Don't worry, we can come up with something", Eda said, "we just need to think this over."
"That's right", Luz said, "and Edric, Emira, you guys can help too."
"Sure", Edric said, "I guess we can lend you guys a hand."
"But first, why don't you two take off your disguises", Amity said, "you should be safe here."
"Um, no thank you", Edric said, "I think we're good."
"Yeah", Emira said, "I think we pull off this look pretty good, don't you?"
"Come on, you guys", Amity said, "quit fooling around."
Edric and Emira looked at each other.
"Well, okay", Edric said.
"But just remember, you asked for this", Emira said.
Edric and Emira removed their disguises, and the residents of the Owl House gasped in horror at what they were looking at, and King walked into the room.
"Hey, guys", King said, "I was wondering if..."
But when he caught an eye of Edric and Emira, he suddenly became as shocked as the others were.
"What the hell happened to those two", King asked.
Edric and Emira's faces were both covered in bruises and scrapes and bruises, and the former had a black left eye while the latter had a bloody nose.
"What happened", Amity asked, "who did this to you?"
"Take a guess", Emira said.
Amity thought for a moment, and she realized who was behind it.
"Odalia and Alador", Amity said.
"That's right", Edric said, "this was the doing of our own parents."
"Remember when we said we'd get in big trouble if they caught us spending time together", Emira asked, "well, they caught us spending time together."
"We were practicing magic together underneath the bleachers of the grudgby field at Hexside", Edric said, "Mom and Dad caught us and, well, you can figure out the rest."
Amity was now getting red in the face with fury upon learning that Odalia and Alador had physically abused their children.
"That tears it", Amity said, "I'm going to make those two pay if it's the last thing I do."
"What do we do", Luz asked.
"I think the best course of action would be to infiltrate the auction and see what kind of weapons Odalia and Alador are auctioning off", Lilith said, "that way we'll know what we're up against."
"And then once we're done, we'll take care of those two", Amity said, "forever!"
Eda could see that her daughter was starting to become vengeful once again.
"Whoa, kiddo", Eda said, "I told you it's not good to rush head first into revenge like that."
"I'm sorry Mom, but those two crossed the line by hurting Edric and Emira like this", Amity said, "I have to make them pay!"
"I understand", Eda said, "but we have other things to focus on right now."
"She's right", Luz said, "if the Blights are going to auction off weapons to witches who are trying to capture us, we have to know more about it so that we can be prepared."
"Besides, we're fine", Emira said, "just a couple of cuts and bruises."
But Emira began to feel pain in her leg and held on to it, making Amity more and more angry, but Eda was determined to keep her daughter calm.
"Please, Amity", Eda said, "just calm down and focus on this, and then we can deal with the Blights."
Amity thought for a moment and then took a deep breath.
"Fine", Amity said, "I'll help you."
"Great", Eda said, "I don't want your thirst for revenge to cloud your judgment."
"Don't worry, Mom", Amity said, "there won't be any revenge on those two tonight."
No one noticed that Amity had her fingers crossed behind her back as she said that.
"Okay, then", Eda said, "let's get to planning."
"Right", Emira said, "here are some details about the auction."
Edric and Emira told the residents of the Owl House more about the auction at Blight Industries, and they began to put together a plan, and as they did so, Lilith wrote down the details of the plan on a notepad.
