The day had passed without much fanfare as the three took a break and relaxed, Kairi did notice her friend seemed in a bad mood but Larxene had simply claimed someone had hit on her. The red head didn't buy that for a minute but knew not to push for info, thankfully she seemed to get back to her more normal attitude as the sun began coming down. They then heard Kim's Kimmunicator beep and pressing the button they saw Wade pop up. "What's the sitch Wade, you figure out the puzzle yet?"
The man delivering a cocky smile nodded as he continued to type. "You bet, I did some research and after a lot of head scratching have finally figured out the most probable location for this Keyhole." He then pulled up a map that began to zoom in on a specific location. "The Bermuda Triangle, home to what's claimed to be paranormal activity where many ships and aircraft have gone missing. My best guess is the Keyhole is somewhere located in this region most likely in the center of this area, although I can't give any specific coordinates beyond that." He informed.
With their goal set Kim considered how they would get there. "Maybe I can call up a favor from that guy I saved during a flood in Africa, I think he was a pilot too." The College Student suggested.
Looking at each other it was Kairi who spoke. "Um we have a ship so how about we just use that?" She suggested and the three decided to high-tail it.
Arriving at the ship they greeted Launchpad who's previously bored expression became one of excitement. "What can I do for you ladies?" He asked. Kim quickly told him directions to Smarty Mart so they could pick up Ron who she messaged on the Kimmunicator, of course the place was packed and with the huge ship it was hard to find. "Oh wait I think I found a spot." The pilot said and touched down.
CRUNCH
Everyone heard and felt as it seemed they landed on something. Hopping out to check what it was the three girls saw a car had just been crushed by the landing pad of the Gummi Ship. "I think that's Mr. Barkin's car, seems he always has bad luck about having his car destroyed." Kim noted remembering her old teacher that also worked here since teaching doesn't exactly pay the bills no matter what world.
Larxene took a sip of a drink she grabbed on the way here as she briefly considered that statement. "Bet his insurance premiums are through the roof."
Soon after Ron came running out looking a little winded and seemed to have strange bits in his hair. "The ferrets got out again, had to trick them back in the cages with some help from Rufu- Is that Mr. Barkin's car?" He questioned earning a nod from Kim. "How about we leave before he comes out." At Ron's suggestion the five hopped back in the Gummi Ship and took off just as they heard a devastated cry from outside. "He found out."
Scrooge who had heard this immediately shouted. "If we get sued I'm not payin for the damages, that's all on you Launchpad!" Before going back to count his earnings as they soared through the air after giving the directions to the Bermuda Triangle to the bumbling duck. "So what are we lookin for cause just an idea of where this Keyhole could be ain't good enough." The old man grumbled clearly annoyed that they were essentially searching for a needle in a haystack.
Considering this Kairi ventured a guess. "Maybe it's like an eye in the storm type thing. Whatever is causing things to disappear could be linked to why the Keyhole hasn't been found, so maybe all we gotta do is find some strange disturbance and that'll lead us right to it." She suggested. Everyone else just shrugged their shoulders figuring that was about a big of a lead as they were going to get.
Soon enough as they began to approach the Bermuda Triangle the group noticed a storm in the distance as small bits of thunder and lightning rained down in the idea. "My favorite type of weather." The nobody mentioned due to her natural electrical affinity. It reminded her of the fact that was the tip of the iceberg for her nobody power as apparently some sort of affinity in a type of magic or element along with their respective weapon and an ability could also be unlocked. Truth be told Larxene had yet to unlock the ability since her training in using her nothingness had been derailed once this Keyblade came into existence, it's no wonder why she still couldn't manifest dark corridors either and that frustrated her to no end as her curiosity wondered just what she could do with the power of nothing.
BOOM
Jolted out of her thoughts as the Gummi Shop rocked immediately everyone looked out the window to see Drakken's aircraft now supped up with a platform on it was Duff Killigan. It didn't take a genius to guess it was one of his exploding golf balls that caused their ship to sway and that immediately got Scrooge to tip his hat in anger. "Why that howlin hackit piece of jobby, how dare he attack my ship after I just finished payin her off! Launchpad open the sunroof I'm goin up top to teach that numpty what happens when ya anger a true Scot." Listening to his employer Launchpad pressed a button and up top a panel opened up allowing the duck to jump through now landing on the roof.
Turning towards the others Larxene said, "I'm gonna go lend him a hand, you guys try and find the Keyhole or see if this baby has any weapons we can use." And then jumped to join him. "Need a helping hand old timer?" She grinned.
The duck scoffed but didn't dismiss her deciding a bit of assistance couldn't hurt. Duff meanwhile smirked and readied more shots swinging them at the two and the ship with Larxene using her electricity to take them out mid-air and Scrooge managing to knock a few back. One of these had actually managed to hit Drakken's ship making the blue scientist yell at his ally. "Watch where you're aiming!"
The golfer fired back, "It ain't my fault they got a two on one advantage." But it seemed help was on the way as a woman joined Duff blue sparks surging around her as she stood beside him.
Larxene seeing the electricity surging readied her own now summoning her own yellow lightning. "Who are you supposed to be?"
The older woman smirked a bit intrigued to meet someone else who seemed to have control over electricity. "You may call me Electronique the master of electrokinesis and soon to be ruler of Go City." She boasted bringing her hand out and as energy surrounded it fired a pulse of electricity at The Savage Key. The girl sent out her hands to catch it hoping to absorb the blast, but as she caught it Larxene realized it wasn't so simple.
This was different from the magic she used and since Larxene did not have much practice absorbing different forms of electricity such as this which was mechanically created from the woman's suit she couldn't just simply absorb it. So instead she deflected it towards the sky colliding with the black clouds above and sending down a bolt of it in between the ships. Not one to be outdone the nobody shouted, "Thunder!" Summoning forth a wave of her own lightning down on Electronique, but the super villain was already prepared with a defense her suit generating what looked to be a barrier of electricity easily blocking the attack.
Smirking with arrogance the woman sent out another pulse forcing Larxene to jump out of the way. "Little girls shouldn't play with forces of nature when they know so little about how to use it." She taunted continuing her blasts trying to knock the nobody off the ship.
Meanwhile Scrooge and Duff continued their war which ranged from insults only the two of them could possibly understand to knocking objects back and forth with the duck bringing out his own metal balls to counter his arch enemy's tools of choice. "Ya be daft if you think the richest duck in the Universe is going to be taken out of the air by an inferior Scotsman who couldn't hit a hole in one if they had a million shots." He declared before swinging his cane on a metal ball knocking one of Duff's clubs out of his hands and into the ocean now only leaving him with a single one.
The Scottish Golfer infuriated by this ramped up his assault refusing to be beaten by a fellow native even if he was technically an animal. "You dare call yourself a Scotsman yet refuse to wear a kilt?" He refuted now sending two exploding balls at a time forcing Scrooge to hit them back twice as fast. The area soon became littered with explosions and electric blasts that to any onlookers such as Ron who watched with interest sort of resembled a light show or fireworks.
Back inside the ship Launchpad was attempting to keep the ship stable which proved challenging with all the chaos going on outside, but the knowledge of two people up top served as great motivation to be the expert pilot he knew he could be. As for Kairi and Kim they kept a lookout trying to find any sign of where the Keyhole might be, when the red head noticed something off. "Look at that!" She pointed northeast and now heading towards that direction with the villains ship soon following they found a giant whirlpool swirling around. "I wonder if this is what caused ships to go missing." She speculated as they came upon it.
Kim seeing this had a bad feeling which would be proven right soon after as suddenly Launchpad began to lose control of the ship with the same happening to Drakken. Both groups began to feel pulled in as a great wind emerged from the whirlpool sucking them inside. As both ships rocketed Larxene and Scrooge fell realizing that it had gotten far more dangerous up here than before and so both decided to get back inside. Duff too hopped back to safety but Electronique remained where she was her mastery of electricity allowing her to stay on the platform unabated having magnetized herself to the metal beneath her feet as she continued to fire at the nobody and ship even managing to land one particular blast on the girl who if not for digging her Keyblade into the steel would have fallen off.
Bringing her knives out The Savage Key flung one at the super-powered villain attempting to cause some damage yet her aim was slightly off. "(For once I wish Xigbar was here to help out.)" The thought making her internally groan, but then a bolt of inspiration hit her and now gathering four of her knives subtly infused them with a bit of her own lightning magic. "(Two can play this game.)" She smirked and now threw every single one at Electronique.
The woman only had to take two steps to the right to avoid them her smirk only widening. "Pitiful toys from a child, I'll end this now." She prepared to fire her strongest electrical pulse yet, until she noticed Larxene's smirk. "What are you smiling ab-" Suddenly she noticed a knife sink into the platform right between her legs. Turning to see why she noticed the other three heading towards her and then it hit her. "You used my electromagnetism against me!" The woman shouted barely able to twist her body to avoid the second one, but she was not as fortunate against the third and fourth which managed to pierce her suit making it go haywire as sparks began to shoot out before shutting off making her fall right off the platform and into whirlpool below. "AAAAAHHHH!"
SPLASH
The resounding sound could be heard making Larxene smile in victory. "Apparently I know more than you." She taunted as the woman was swept up in the sea hopefully to never be seen again. Unfortunately, her triumph was short lived as again the ship rocked plummeting further and further towards that very same hole and no matter how much power Launchpad put into the thrusters they couldn't escape. Scrooge who tried to get back inside ended up tripping over his own two feet and started careening off the side, until Kim came jumping out grabbing onto the duck before launching her grappling hook at the opening.
Hooking on the two reeled it in allowing them to get back to safety, but Larxene was not so fortunate as her body rolled desperately trying to hang on to something but out of reach and couldn't focus enough to summon her Keyblade or Knives back. Suddenly she felt something slide down in between her shirt and back managing to clip her bra and she found herself stopped in mid-air. Trying to glance back and see what it was proved impossible but her questions were answered as someone shouted out. "Don't worry I got you Larxene!" Kairi's voice assured leaning out of the ship with Ron holding onto her so she wouldn't fall as well. It seemed at the last minute seeing her friend about to plummet had the idea to use her long rod to try and catch the girl.
YANK
With a hard pull like one would when fishing the two just managed to pull The Savage Key back into the ship all three falling down into one big pile their heads spinning for a few moments as they tried to recollect their bearings. "T-thanks Kairi." The blond managed to say a bit surprised the girl had even taken such a risk to try and save her.
The red head after managing to recollect herself sighed trying to get her currently racing heart back down to normal but managed to let out a small smile. "No problem, that's what friends are for after all." She replied.
That made the nobody feel a bit odd, she wasn't even sure the two of them could even be called friends, yet the girl simply shrugged deciding not to question it as they had bigger things to worry about. Now with everyone back on the ship they ran up to Launchpad with Scrooge yelling out, "Isn't there someway to get us away from that pool of death, I paid good money for the best travel!" He grumbled with a hint of fear.
But the bulky duck just shook his head currently trying everything to change their trajectory. "Sorry Mr. McDee but nothing's working, it's like a tractor beam has locked onto us!" And that was all he could say before everyone had been sucked into this giant vortex the chaos of which making their ship whirl around like crazy even knocking out the power itself for a few minutes as they dropped like a rock down below sea level. After who knows how many minutes passed the ship finally crash landed on something and thankfully no one was critically injured just a bit bruised up from being flung around.
Being the first to get up Larxene climbed out from the top to see where they had landed. Much to her confusion they had ended up in what looked to be a grassy field and for a moment the nobody considered the idea she was dreaming as this made absolutely no sense. Smacking her head she winced realizing this was not a dream nor a hallucination, Ron was the second to walk out and he too wondered if this was real. "Guess all those lessons about the inside of the planet were pretty inaccurate." He stated and soon everyone else emerged.
Walking along the grass Larxene felt something was strange about this area but not in a bad way. "Something's off about this place." She stated and then without even thinking it Dark Desolation appeared in her hand.
No one else seemed to get the same feeling except for Kairi who too sensed something unique about this area. This area was so full of life and beauty when it really shouldn't be, it made her feel warm inside. "Maybe it's because of the Keyhole." Projecting her thoughts out loud.
The nobody considered this idea and realized perhaps that was why her Keyblade came out on its own, it must be resonating with the Keyhole that was near. "Could be that being so close to the heart of the World even in this crazy place nature could spring up." She further speculated.
It was then Kim had noticed the villains were not in sight even though she saw their ship had too entered the hole. "I don't see anyone else here, maybe there's other places around here besides this field. We should search around and see if we can find where this supposed Keyhole is."
Scrooge and Launchpad chose to remain at the ship to both protect it and because it would need a few repairs after the crash to get it back in the air. "Don't worry guys, give me a bit of time and I'll have her ready for action before you can say airborne."
Larxene just starred at him for a few moments before stating, "Airborne." Like a true smart ass earning a light smack from Kairi with her Magician's Rod.
"Don't be rude he's just trying to help." The girl reprimanded again making the blond grumble. With everything settled the remaining five members began their search through this strange area hoping to find both their enemies and more importantly the key to sealing away the heartless.
A bit of a shorter chapter with only a little plot progression, but I mostly wanted to focus on an interesting idea for an action scene as the idea of a tag-team battle between electric girls and golfers was just so wacky and fun I couldn't resist. Next chapter will be the end of this World and afterward we'll get to switch up perspectives as of course Sora too will find some major differences in his adventure with all the changes happening so far.
