Between Reality and Dreams
Weiss is walking on the sand with her bare feet in her sun dress. Unlike the hot sand, it was cool in the night. The waves wash to shores, one by one. Her eyes closed at the sound of the gentle breeze. Normally in Atlas, it was always in colder temperatures. But in Argus, where the object of her affections have lived, it was warm, not too hot. The stars have glittered like jewels. Jewels that never shattered from the night sky. Her hair cascades at the movement of waves. When the hair from the left side of her head blew over her face. Weiss removes it by swaying it by turning to the right. Leaving the rest to flow. There stood Neptune on the pier where his brother had thrown him. Since the day of his awakening. He is standing in silence, the more Weiss stares at him, the more muffled the waves have become.
It wasn't like any other dream. She knew it was only a vision, in her sleep. When she sleeps, it was her way of escaping reality. The dream she never wanted to wake up from. Weiss then decides to get closer to see if it is him, as if Neptune was a ghost. Her heart beats endlessly, at the sight of the blue hair she recognized. "Neptune?" She called, gently. As he turned around, he never spoke a word. It's like he was about to say something, but not ready yet. The waves continue to splash from above the pier, back to the bottom. They looked at each other's eyes, 15 meters apart. His eyes are as blue as the ocean. Blue as sapphires. Her eyes are as cold as ice, but when you look at the soft expression, they are also beautiful like the jewels. He's water, and she's ice. Bound by fate. Bound by the spark of their auras. Bound by their locked eyes. But the reality is, she is forced to cut ties with the one she holds dear.
The blue-haired huntsman reaches his hand out to the huntress, and those very eyes begged Weiss to free herself. "Please let me be with you, Snow Angel. Let me take you away from all the pain you have endured for so long." He told her. His words softened her cold skin, melted her frozen heart that was imprisoned for the past 19 years of her life. She wanted to take his hand, but she couldn't. Not after he was nearly beaten to death, the moment her father held him captive to get to her. If she did take his hand, will this ever happened again? Her hesitance have suppressed for a few seconds. She was starting to forget about her engagement to the man she never chose to live with. She'd rather be with a man who would support her, and love her for all eternity.
People in Atlas have told her that she was like a fairy tale princess. Or rather, "The Girl in the Tower," desperate for freedom. Being locked away by a father she wished she was never related to. But in Weiss' case, she never wanted to be born a pawn. She wanted to be just like everyone else, a normal person. To laugh, to smile, to do regular stuff she have been deprived of in a young age. During her time as an heiress, she never thought one day she would fall for a commoner. A commoner who sees her differently, for good reasons. She may be the granddaughter of the Schnee Dust Company's founder, Nicholas Schnee. But according to Winter, he was a genuine man and a noble knight who uses his fortune and power to help the people in need. She have told her that their true inheritance was never the company, but their semblance, Glyphs. Neptune may not be a knight in shining armor, or a prince of her own. But rather her "Romeo." To awaken her from this spell. A famous term for any man a woman was forbidden to love. And he was one of those men she was told to never see again.
In a tale of "War of the Capulets and Montagues." It was a story of two households at war. However, a huntress, named Juliet Capulet, has been engaged to the mayor's son in Vale, during the time in the Great War. Her father was hosting the party for the two to get to know each other. However, upon wandering around the party out of boredom. But also felt lonely. Until she was kissed from the back hand of an individual who snuck into the party. Her cheeks flushed as a sing of affection. She then met him in the back courtyard, where they quickly professed their love for one another. Until she was being pulled back into the party by her bodyguard. Who told her he was a Montague.
The Montagues, another family from Mistral who was also wealthy to provide weapons. The family heir, Romeo Montague, a huntsmen, have fallen in love with Juliet at sight in the party when he sneaks in to steal the dusts. He didn't care about the plan anymore, and would do anything to be with her. After the party, Juliet was captivated by Romeo's declaration of love, they are aware that their parents are still at war over power and money. But neither of them thought of each other as enemies. They have support from a reverend their families have been friends with, and helped them got married the next day to end the feud, once and for all. But at a terrible price. As Juliet was announced of her engagement after their secret marriage ceremony, Juliet refuses and her father have threatened to disown her. To escape this marriage, she joined the Vale Military to gain independence, in hopes of running into her love again. Only to find him joining the Mistral military and was forced to fight him. Until they stabbed each other after raising their swords. For their last moments of life, they held into each other's arms, lovingly, whilst bleeding to the death. A tale has brought their families to end the feud. Placing the statues of their deceased loved ones in the center of Vale, which later becomes a city.
Weiss remembered that tale for as long as she could be reminded of. But her tale will never be repeated in the end. She will do anything to be with her Romeo, for as she is his Juliet. Weiss took his hand, and was pulled into a hug. A warm loving embrace she felt was real. Not a care in the world if this was just a dream. Burying her head on his clothed chest, and nuzzling it to forget the real world. "I love you, my Snow Angel." He told her.
Vega Manor
Weiss was sleeping in her "prison." Tears streamed from her eyelids. Tightening her embrace on a pillow. This is a dream she never wanted to wake up from. And wishes the reality was just a nightmare. Weiss knows that she will have to be awaken to this horrible reality. She tried her best not to sob out loud, but it won't stop the sadness she has been holding for fifteen weeks now. Breathing heavily in her sobs, hugging the pillow is like the last thing she wanted before her fate is sealed. "I love you too, Neptune." She whimpers. For any reason, she felt the embrace, so real, her grip has been squeezing. No matter if she's separated from him. How long will her humanity lasts before this happens. Will she be brainwashed by the suitor she hates? Will she be deprived from her Romeo? Will she have to pretend to hate him in order to protect him from any harm?
If she could just go back in time as a student in Beacon, will she have to confess her love for him and run away with him to start a new life? Can she just change her identity with him to not be tracked down? Or will she have to fake her death to be with him? Or should she just annoy her father to get him to kick her out of their home to officially cut ties with him? All those thoughts have came to light. She cannot fight her own heart. Not when she hides her pain. She has no one to turn to when there is one against a few.
Somewhere in a hospital. Neptune was still unconscious after unintentionally flooding Mountain Glenn and nearly drowned in his own bubble of water. But for some reason, he felt a warm embrace in his dreams. "I love you, my Snow Angel." He mumbled. His heart monitor still beats normally. There was no sound, except for the monitors.
Still, he feels the chills in his cold skin from his semblance. What if this isn't a dream? Was this embrace real? Is that even Weiss talking to him? Either way, it was a bittersweet moment in his sleep. It helped him forget the fears he have held for the past 23 years of his life. His skin was still wet, and chilly from the low temperature of the water of rain. The fact that he wanted to take her away from the painful past, for the first woman who approached him. Beneath the white-haired, pale skinned, vain-looking young woman. She is also a trapped soul. But looking back when he flirts with every girl he meets, he now regrets to have been ignoring her feelings for him. Being an idiot who denies his fear of water. He told himself that he'll just be a flirty and not get himself into a relationship.
To him, having a relationship would put anyone at risk. If he ever loved a woman, it was a happiest moment of his life. But there are consequences for this, his semblance is the one thing he couldn't handle. To the point that he might unintentionally drown somebody. He even ignored Weiss to not risk anyone in his life. Still, the dream is one of the most beautiful sensations that nobody wants to snap from. As if heaven have claimed their souls to bring them into their happy place. His semblance is a blessing and a curse. But currently, it was a curse to him. Considering that he never touched the water in a very long time.
Winter is standing outside of the patient's room speaking to the doctor operating on Neptune. Weiss have told her about him, how he was different from any men in Atlas. Not rich, but a skillful student. Something she never took her eyes off of. Although she did feel bad for the blue-haired young man for having to lost his brother, she cannot choose between her duty, or her sister. But can she bring herself to arrest the eldest Vasilias for what he have done? Due to the similar DNA of the hair sample, it looks like she has no other choice but to search for the other half of his. Hoping for the information of the Thunderbolts. That's when Winter decides to leave him a note, and tells the doctor to give it to him. After getting a call from her men about having a confession from another individual who participated in this crime.
Winter walks away from the waiting room. She cannot bear to face her sister if she finds out one of her men have abducted her for a debt she never knew of. So she'll have to monitor them to see who it is, as she never let either Neptune or Drey finish their sentences. But what she did regret is jumping to conclusions. For her sister's sake, she would have to remain vigilant those she trusted. The threats are endless as it flows in her brain, she'll have to keep a low profile for a while.
